The Classic of Mountains and Seas - Legend of the Scarlet Shadow

What are you doing?!

Fu'er!

From the signs that happened at the Dong Ling Temple,

you are the Vermilion Mysterious Lady.

- What are you doing?- You can go now.

What are you doing?

Why must I stop her? Who is she to me?

If she wanted to commit suicide, nobody could stop her.

I know that being the Vermilion Star Mansion, it brought you a lot of disasters.

- But these are all fated by the Heavens.- Don't tell me about fate from the Heavens.

I'll decide for my own life.

Are you alright?

I'm fine.

Is it still painful?

No, it's fine.

Brother Shangguan, are you angry with me?

I'm not. I'm angry at myself.

I wasn't able to protect you well, causing you to get hurt.

Protect me? Is it because I'm the Vermilion Mysterious Lady?

All these things happened too suddenly.

You guys are saying that I'm the Vermilion Mysterious Lady.

While Fu'er has become the Azure Dragon Mysterious Lady and is staying at Dong Ling.

It's fine. I can understand.

Once we've returned to Jiu Li,

everything will become clear.

Then how about Fu'er?

Miss Fu'er used her freedom

in exchange for our lives to save us

and chose to stay at Dong Ling.

Do you want to just put her efforts to waste?

And also, you must accept the fact that even if we again return to Dong Ling,

we still won't be able to save Miss Fu'er.

You, Chi Yu, and my power are all useless there.

If we go back, we will die. Do you want that to happen?

Then we won't save Fu'er anymore?

Not exactly.

That's why we must go back to Jiu Li now.

Then we can call upon the Vermilion Mythical Beast

to realize your wish.

By that time, maybe we will be able to save Fu'er.

That's too long.

Then what if...I'm not the Vermilion Mysterious Lady?

That's unlikely.

I am the Vermilion Ghost Mansion. I can sense

that you are the Vermilion Mysterious Lady.

Then if that's the case, we should hurry and save Fu'er.

Don't you worry.

Leave everything to me.

Respectfully welcoming the Mysterious Lady.

The Mysterious Lady has just entered the Palace. She's still not accustomed to our etiquette.

I'll thank everyone on behalf of the Mysterious Lady for now.

Fu'er,

don't be afraid. I'm here.

Don't be afraid.

Your Majesty, this is the Azure Dragon Mysterious Lady,

our Dong Ling's Mysterious Lady.

Okay, okay! This little girl

really is beautiful.

Our Dong Ling's Azure Dragon Mysterious Lady has appeared.

It won't be long

for our Tribe to become very powerful.

When that time comes, everyone will be drinking wine and eating meat everyday.

Drinking wine everyday! Eating meat everyday!

Drinking wine everyday! Eating meat everyday!

But I don't want to become Dong Ling's Azure Dragon Mysterious Lady.

What did you say?

Say it once again!

I don't want to be the Azure Dragon Mysterious Lady.

You dare!

Men! Lock this little girl up!

Who dares to touch her? You'll have to pass through me first!

Baili Han! You...

Go and arrest Baili Han, too.

Stop!

General Baili!

- Stay right there!- General Baili!

Miss Fu'er, I'm sorry.

I was not able to protect you well.

Baili Han,

you can't even protect yourself and you still want to protect her?

- Take this girl and lock her up!- Yes!

General Baili!

General Baili...

Your Majesty, don't worry. Starting from today, anything about the Mysterious Lady,

just leave it all to me.

Your Majesty doesn't need to worry anymore.

Okay...

I still have official matters to do. I'll go take my leave now.

Go do your stuff...

Young Master!

I just realized now

that there are things that you cannot hide from despite how hard you try.

Can I really change everyone?

If Young Master wants to, you can definitely do it.

Say, why is it so coincidental?

- Why is it her?- Her?

Miss Su Mo? Is she really the Vermilion Mysterious Lady?

Actually, I also hope that she isn't.

General.

Let them watch our Mysterious Lady closely.

You better make sure nothing wrong happens.

General, don't worry. Even a mosquito

won't be able to get near her.

A human heart is really saddening.

If you let her live a happy life, she will slowly not need you anymore.

She will feel that all these are what she deserved.

But if you take away those happy days

and completely knock her down,

you will be her only saving grace and she will tightly grab on to you.

Shuang'er, do you feel that I'm too cruel?

People who do great things are never bothered with triviality.

Shuang'er, only you understand me the most.

Go. Let's have a look at the Vermilion Mysterious Lady.

Oh, right.

Call Yu Yang. Let him come with us to play.

Why are you leaving?

Afraid of me?

Afraid of you? What a joke!

Where's you Brother Shangguan?

How would I know?

Isn't he always by your side?

I'm not a kid. I don't need him to watch over me everyday.

Then you're not going save your friend already?

Brother Shangguan has already said that even if we go there, we won't be able to save Fu'er.

He'll just think of a way once we're back at Jiu Li.

- You trust him?- Of course.

You seem to trust people very quickly.

I only believe people whom I should believe.

I'm just afraid that once at Jiu Li, he will be busy in matters concerning the Mysterious Lady,

that he will already forget about other things.

That will definitely not happen.

What happened?

Why did you shout?

Who shouted? I just almost slipped.

And also, you said earlier

that my matters don't concern you. Why did you come back to ask me then?

What Brother Shangguan said was right.

You indeed cannot let go of your identity as the Vermilion Seven Stars.

Identity as the Vermilion Seven Stars?

Let me tell you. Not everyone is like that Shangguan Jin.

Considering this identity as some honorable thing.

In some place and in the eyes of some people,

this identity is a Calamity Star.

After the Guardian of the Four Mythical Beasts appeared,

that means that an avoidable calamity is about to happen.

I feel that you are the one who cannot let go.

Do you really think that you are the Vermilion Mysterious Lady?

A sparrow becoming a phoenix.

A sparrow becoming a phoenix? Are you describing me?

Is being a carefree sparrow not good?

That phoenix...is not as easy to be as you thought it was.

Who wants to be a phoenix? Who wants to?

Don't you want to?

After being a phoenix, you can circle around your Brother Shangguan everyday already.

Nonsense, I've never thought that way.

Everything that has happened these past few days is confusing me.

I don't even know what's really going on.

What Vermilion? What Azure Dragon?

You think I'm willing? I want to?

If possible,

I'd rather that our Peach Blossoms Hollow don't have any unlucky Mysterious Lady.

This way, we can go back to how it used to be.

If you can think that way, then that's good.

But I'm going to give you one piece of advice,

stay far away from Shangguan Jin.

Stay away from Jiu Li.

Don't become some Vermilion Mysterious Lady.

It's something that you can't bear.

Are you worrying about me?

I'm worrying about you?

- You think too much.- You!

I'm gonna tell you one more thing.

You better stay far away from me.

Cold-Faced Ghost,

are you an idiot? Stupid!

Cold-Faced Ghost...

Idiot. Stupid!

I'm so mad!

Help! Save me!

Help! Help!

Trying to fool me again?

Azure Dragon Tail Mansion.

Tail Mansion.

Mo'er!

The weapon that the one who attacked Miss Su has poison.

Although...I've already helped her get rid of a portion of it,

but...

Lord Shangguan,

if you do that to heal Miss Su, it will use up a lot of Spiritual Energy.

Just a slight mistake, you might end up hurt, too.

I have to trouble Lord Hong Tai to make sure that no one bothers us.

Okay then.

- Young Master- How is she?

The poison is too strong.

Even if Lord Shangguan did all he could,

he would only able to make half of it come out.

Looks like Miss Su's wound is hard to heal already.

Young Master,

there one question I don't know if I should ask or not.

Say it.

It's been a long time since I've seen you like this.

What do I look like?

Just because of her words, you got angry,

even upset.

Really?

Maybe my training isn't enough still.

Just guard here first. I'll go and look for antidotes.

Hey, Young Master, how about if I go with you?

No need.

Enough, Shuang'er. Stop flogging him already.

Look at him... He's already angry.

Shuang'er, you were too harsh.

He didn't listen to General's order.

When he attacks, he aims to kill.

That is the natural instinct of a wolf.

It's my fault. I didn't teach him well.

How can he understand?

Letting someone do a surprise attack,

then letting someone stop before going too far.

Stop before going too far!

How can a wolf know that?

General, there's one thing I don't understand.

What is it?

Today, we clearly could have killed those two.

I just want Yu Yang to test that person's skill.

Shangguan Jin or Chi Yu?

There are some things that you don't need to know very well.

You just need to fulfill the tasks I gave you.

Go now.

Go and see how that wolf is doing.

General gave you this.

If I didn't guess it wrong,

he must be a child brought up by wolves.

Customer is really well informed.

That's correct. This beast looks like he's human,

but he is really a wolf.

Shuang'er, look at his leg.

He's actually...

You should know what to do next.

- What's wrong?- He's here.

Brother Chi Yu!

Stop hiding!

Drink one cup of wine with me!

You seem to know that I'd be coming.

I just guessed it.

My dog bit someone. That someone will naturally come.

Give me the antidote.

What if I won't give it?

Then I have to use force.

We outnumber you. Can you win?

Then let's give it a try.

How about like this.

Let's make a deal.

Making a deal with you... Then wouldn't I be stupid?

You don't even know yet what it is,

so how do you know we won't be able to make a deal?

Okay.

Then say it, I'll listen.

If one day

you became Green Hill's King, I hope that you will never

become an enemy of Dong Ling.

I already told you before

that your deal will never succeed.

I don't belong in Green Hill Country.

And I will never become the king there.

We can't be too sure of that.

Didn't that prediction say that you will kill your father?

It's all because of that prediction that my father wants to kill me.

If I really killed him, then I would have proved that prediction true.

If it was you in my case,

would you do it?

That I don't know.

I'm just a businessman, a gambler.

I'm betting on you that you'll become the King of Green Hill Country.

Hence, it means that you just need to make this deal with me,

then you can get the antidote.

Even if you didn't become Green Hill Country's King,

you also don't have any losses.

I think that you really took a lot of trouble.

You did so many things and even poisoning Su Mo

just to get this deal?

Just a little courage and insight needed, Lord Yu wouldn't have any, right?

Fine then.

I'm just worried that you might be the one who will be at a disadvantage this time.

Really?

Then I can only admit defeat.

Shuang'er,

give him the antidote.

Oh right, please help me relay to Miss Fu'er

that I will definitely get her out of Dong Ling.

Okay. I'll wait for it.

General, are we just letting him leave like that?

It's bearable... bearable.

Only with giving can you get something.

- How is it going?- Young Master.

Don't worry. Lord Shangguan

keeps using his own Spiritual Energy to protect her.

She's safe.

This is the antidote. Go and give it to them.

- Antidote? Baili Han gave this? - Yes.

Could this be some trick?

Don't you worry. This is from a deal I made with them.

Young Master you...made a deal with Baili Han?

This deal will never be successful.

Go in first. I'll tell you later once you come out.

Hong Tai,

pack our things later. We'll leave tonight.

What? Are we really leaving?

The people providing support from Jiu Li are already here.

Their safety is now not a problem.

I don't need to stay here anymore.

- But the Vermilion Mysterious Lady, she -- - She has nothing to do with me.

Young Master, why don't you be the one to give them this antidote instead?

They probably wouldn't want to see me.

Why must I get myself into that embarrassing situation?

Brother Shangguan.

You're awake!

Hey, careful. Don't move. Don't move unnecessarily.

Brother Shangguan, that man is so weird.

He's like a wolf.

I thought he was a wolf.

That man, is most likely, the one they referred to as Wolf Child.

That is a child brought up by wolves.

Wolf child?

Then why would he attack me?

I later discovered that he is the Azure Dragon's Tail Mansion.

There's also a chance that he was sent by Baili Han.

It's Baili Han again.

Be a little careful!

Let me tell you. Although the poison within your body has already been removed,

but this wound is really very deep.

It might need time to completely heal.

Thank you.

Thank me for what?

Thank you for saving me.

Actually, I only helped you to control the poison from spreading.

The one who really helped you look for the antidote

was Chi Yu.

That cold-faced ghost?

I don't know what method he used

that he was able to ask for the antidote from Baili Han.

Baili Han?

An antidote given by Baili Han and you guys dared to let me take it?

Don't worry. We all tested this drug beforehand.

It's very safe. You can be at ease.

Then I'm at ease already. I thought I wouldn't live long.

What are you looking at? Is there something on my face?

Nothing...I just feel that

you seemed to have some type of skill in making people laugh.

You feel that I'm funny, right?

No, it's not that. I'm just saying

that regardless of how big the problem you encounter,

you're still very optimistic. Making others feel at ease.

My dad used to say

that is because I am heartless.

Brother Shangguan, why don't we sit there for a while?

Lying in bed the whole time, I'm already annoyed with it.

Okay. Then I'll assist you.

Are you looking for Chi Yu?

Is he and Brother Hong Tai not coming with us back to Jiu Li?

They have already left.

Are you a little disappointed?

No. I just wanted to thank him.

Then let's just go back to Jiu Li first. If fated, we will see each other again.

Young Master, are you a little worried?

Worried about what?

Miss Su.

She's very courageous. Why the need for me to worry?

Moreover, doesn't she have a Shangguan Jin at her side right now?

I get it...

So it's because of Lord Shangguan.

What's wrong?

Jiu Li is really beautiful.

It's quite nice here.

You will like it more once you lived here longer.

But what if...

If I held you,

would it make you feel more at ease?

No...I'd be more anxious.

Young Master, you're back.

- You guys go and prepare for me Miss Su's living quarters.- Yes.

They will prepare it well for you. You go and take a good rest first.

Hurry and go then.

Miss, this way please.

Even though I haven't verified it through the worship ceremony yet,

but father you must know

that the Mysterious Lady has a strong connection

with us Star Mansions.

How sure are you?

I feel that she is.

I'm sure that she is. I'm not wrong.

We must not make a mistake with this.

I know.

We must move faster than the High Priest.

I know.

But we also must be careful.

Oh right, Father.

There's still one more thing that's making me very worried.

It's Baili Han.

What you're saying is Dong Ling's new General?

That's right. I previously fought with him.

I realized that this person is very scheming and careful.

I'm afraid that he's not easy to deal with.

And also, he has already found the Azure Dragon Mysterious Lady and even took Su Mo captive.

During that time at the Dong Ling Ancient Temple,

I discovered that the Azure Dragon Mysterious Lady

and Su Mo's spiritual energy seem to clash.

That's why I'm sure that Su Mo is the Vermilion Mysterious Lady we're looking for.

You've seen the Azure Dragon Mysterious Lady already?

Then why didn't you killed her right there?

Dong Ling has been lusting for our Jiu Li for very long already..

If we let them successfully call the Azure Dragon,

then I cannot imagine what will happen.

We must not give them this chance.

But...

A real man must not have a woman's kindness.

You shouldn't have wasted the chance to kill the Azure Dragon Mysterious Lady.

I'll let it go this time.

In the future, if you get the same chance,

you must kill her personally

to remove future problems. The most important thing right now is

to awaken the Vermilion bird

- prior to the Azure Dragon's awakening.- Yes.

The first thing we will do after getting the power of the Vermilion bird

is to let Jiu Li rule the world.

If this thing can be a success,

then our Shangguan family will be Jiu Li's most important success contributor.

The Princess has been waiting for you for a long time already.

If you have time, hurry and go visit her.

Okay.

Miss Su.

Young Master asked us to help Miss change clothes.

- Change clothes?- Yes.

He said that he's taking Miss into the palace.

Go in the palace?

Are you okay?

I just keep feeling that these clothes are very different.

Maybe I'm just not used to it.

- Everyone look, is my dress today beautiful?- Beautiful...

Be a little careful. How was it? Did you hurt yourself?

I'm fine.

Brother Shangguan!

Greetings, Your Highness Princess.

Oh right. Please allow me to introduce to you.

This is Miss Su Mo.

Brother Shangguan, you're not leaving anymore right? Can you play with me already?

Princess, I actually have some official things to do.

After I finish them, I'll play with you.

What...are you thinking?

It's nothing. I'm just thinking

that I need to prepare some itch powder and sleeping powder.

- Why?- Didn't you see?

The Princess' stare almost killed me earlier.

I must prepare some self-defense stuff.

You're really very tactful, can say anything straight out.

Why shouldn't these words be said?

You can. You can tell me anything.

You also don't need to prepare those things. As long as I'm here,

I'll definitely not let anyone bully you.

Okay.

That's great!

Hurry and stand...

Are you really the Vermilion Mysterious Lady?

I...

Responding to Your Majesty.

Based on my observations during that time at the Dong Ling ancient temple,

Miss Su Mo is most likely the Vermilion Mysterious Lady.

Shouldn't the Mysterious Lady have some special abilities?

Like can you fly?

Then spitting fire or making rain?

This...

You don't know anything?

Is picking herbs counted?

Your Majesty, a few days ago,

Miss Su Mo was still a herb picker at Peach Blossoms Hollow.

To make her immediately accept the identity as the Vermilion Mysterious Lady,

I'm afraid she's still not used to it.

It's fine. Maybe Mysterious Lady was tired from her travel.

Make her rest then.

And also, ask your father and High Priest to come

and prepare for the Vermilion Mysterious Lady Worship Ceremony.

I'll do as you ordered.

Your Majesty.

High Priest, what do you think?

From what I can see, she's just a normal lady.

She's clearly just a provincial girl.

To let me leave the safety of Jiu Li in her hands,

I really cannot feel at ease.

Your Majesty, although I have my doubts,

but everything must wait after tomorrow's Worship Ceremony.

Worrying about it now is a little early.

This thing must not be done carelessly. We must distinguish it clearly.

I am very sure about the character of Shangguan Jin.

However, this thing concerns his family's interest.

I'm just afraid that he will take risks out of desperation.

Okay. I know it already.

What are you thinking about?

I'm thinking...

is Fu'er fine right now?

Don't worry. Fu'er will definitely be fine.

Once we are able to awaken the Vermilion bird, then we can go and save her already.

If you're sleepy, take a nap for a while.

There's a girl who needs you to protect her with your life.

That is the meaning of this mark.

Is that person you?

General, Shangguan Jin and Su Mo have already returned to Jiu Li.

They are preparing to give the Vermilion Mysterious Lady a Worship Ceremony.

I know it already.

Then...how about us?

Should we force that Fu'er girl to prepared for the Worship Ceremony?

Not all things can be resolved with force.

I want her to willingly awaken the Azure Dragon for us.

And also, help us completely destroy the Vermilion bird.

Such a big mansion...

and there's not one person around.

I can even get lost here.

Really?!

Where's the kitchen?

What are you laughing at?

Everyone gets hungry.

Actually, I'm laughing

that this tune is called Summer Lotus Jade Dew.

Here at Jiu Li, we like to use the dew

that formed on lotus leaves to make porridge.

Someone enchantingly listened.

Then it means that I played this tune quite well.

You're always laughing at me. I don't want to talk to you anymore.

Come with me.

Where is this?

This is our kitchen. There's lot of delicious food inside.

Ha? This is your home and you're still sneaking around?

I want you taste the best tasting ice-cold dew.

Come with me.

Wow, what's that?

What is it? You're so happy just seeing food?

You're a lord.

You even personally make ice-cold dew?

Experiencing the leisurely elegant life in the province is just like that.

Yours is more beautiful than what I make.

Come, sit down and eat it slowly.

It's very delicious. What did you add?

This is a special ingredient I made.

Just tell me... Tell me...

Actually, it's really nothing special.

I just added peach flowers to it.

Peach flowers?

How come I cannot see any peach flowers?

The highest level of culinary skill is that you can taste the peach flowers

but can't see the peach flowers.

If Fu'er is here that would be great.

You'll get to see her soon.

I believe you. I will definitely reunite with Fu'er soon.

Get in...

General Baili!

General Baili!

General Baili, what's wrong with you?

I'm okay.

I'm sorry, Miss Fu'er.

I wasn't able to protect you, letting you suffer.

I'm fine. I'm really fine.

But General Baili, what's this about?

Why would you get such grave injuries?

Did that Dong Ling King make things difficult for you?

Our Dong Ling is currently like this.

It's all because

of our immoral and brutal king.

Causing our Dong Ling citizens to fall into an abyss of suffering.

It's just my strength has limits.

I can't save them. Hence,

I wanted to borrow the Azure Dragon's power

to let our citizens live better.

But Miss Fu'er, it's okay.

If you're not willing to be the Azure Dragon Mysterious Lady,

I won't force you.

It's not like that, General Baili.

It's not that I'm not willing to be the Azure Dragon Mysterious Lady.

It's just that a lot has happened these past days.

I'm a little confused myself.

I want to see Su Mo.

I want to go home.

This thing...

it's me who dragged you into this.

I'll think of a way to send you back home.

It's just that Su Mo...

You won't be able to see her that easily.

Why? What happened?

I heard that she's been taken to Jiu Li.

Currently preparing for the Worship Ceremony for the Vermilion Mysterious Lady.

Worship Ceremony?

Su Mo is attending the Worship Ceremony for the Vermilion Mysterious Lady?

That's right.

That can't be.

She's not really a girl from Peach Blossoms Hollow.

She doesn't really have a Mysterious Lady blood line.

And also, she said she will come back for me.
