Should we go over our schedule for tomorrow, Sister Williams?
Yes.
For tomorrow, the families
that we need to revisit are going to be the Johnsons, the Mills, and the Smiths.
As soon as we're done with them, we'll just finish working our way around the
east side of Fourth Ward.
So we'll start on Kenwood Street and then work our way up Granada after we're
finished there.
Are any of those specific appointments or are we just going to come by at any
time?
Yeah, we'll just drop by.
And then anyone who doesn't answer, we'll just go back and knock their doors
again after dinner.
Okay. We need to get as many converts as possible.
Yeah.
Um, I think that we need to stop by the stake center as well.
Oh, yeah, that's right. We have that young women's project that we're helping
out with.
Um, and we'll just do that between the Johnson and the Mills house.
And what time do we need to wake up?
6 a.m., so we should probably get to sleep.
It's been a long day. Yeah.
Do you want to say the prayer or should I?
You can say it tonight.
Is there anyone or anything special you want to pray for?
Um... No one in particular.
Okay.
Dear Heavenly Father, we're so grateful for this day and for all of the
blessings that thou hast bestowed upon us.
We're grateful for our families and for the opportunity that we have to serve.
Please bless us that we will continue to be inspired as we teach the gospel.
Please bless us that we will be healthy and stay safe and that we will get the
good night's rest that we need.
Please bless Sister Williams' family that they will also be healthy and safe.
And please bless my family for the same.
Please bless us that we will always remember what we're supposed to be doing
here as we serve the Lord and spread the gospel.
We say these things in the name of Jesus Christ.
Amen. Amen.
Good night, Ashley.
Good night, Jessica.
Thank you.
Do you want to take this one?
Yeah.
Can I help you? Hi.
Hi, I'm Sister Thompson, and this is my companion, Sister Williams, and we're
here from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Yeah, no, thank you. We want to take... Hey, don't
be discouraged.
Come on, let's go.
How are you today?
Good, thanks. How are you?
Good. My name is Sister Williams. This is my companion, Sister Thompson.
Hi. We're from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Someone in
your area gave us your name as someone who might be interested in hearing some
of our church's teachings.
So, if you have a minute, we'd love to sit down with you and talk about God's
wonderful plan for us.
It'll only take a few moments, and you can learn all about how your family can
be together forever.
Okay.
Yeah, come on in.
You know, Sister Williams, with all of the people turning us down lately, i
have been pondering on what scripture i should be studying and something that i
really wanted to spend some time on is chapter 29 in the book of alma because
it talks a lot about missionary work and how important it is in the description
it says the lord grants teachers for all nations and this has been really
important to me because I do find a lot of happiness in knowing that we are
teachers of God and we are teaching the gospel to all of these people that
really need it in their lives.
In verse 9 it reads, Sister
Williams,
I want to bear testimony to you today that I know this church is true.
I know that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon.
And I know that it is not only our job, but our glory to teach the people the
gospel, bring them to repentance.
Even if we bring one or two souls this week or this month or even this transfer
to repent, I know.
that they will bring the joy and the truth of the gospel to not only their
friends, their families, but co-workers and everyone they encounter.
I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ.
Amen. Amen.
As sisters in Zion, we'll all work together.
The blessings of God on our labors we'll seek. We'll build
up the kingdom of God. As sisters in Zion.
Hi, I'm Sister Thompson, and this is my companion, Sister Williams.
Hi, I'm Sister Williams. This is my companion, Sister Thompson.
And we're here from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We're from
the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Oh, hey, it's four. I'm starving. Yeah, let's go eat dinner, and then we can be
back out by six to finish the neighborhood.
Okay, let's do it. Okay.
In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
Amen. Thank you.
Oh, I'll get it.
Who is it?
Hello?
Hi, President Benson.
Um... Yes, today we finished all of fourth ward and tomorrow we were gonna
start with the Well, yes
I Must admit this
this comes as a bit of a surprise. I mean it hasn't even been six weeks since
the last transfer
Does this mean Sister Thompson will be transferred as well?
I understand.
Yes, I can be ready at nine tomorrow.
Goodbye.
Where?
Alberta.
As far away from you as they could put me.
We should pray.
Dear Heavenly Father, we're so grateful for this day and for the chance that we
had to be companions with each other.
We're grateful for the atonement of Jesus Christ, that through him we can
repent.
Please forgive us for our sins.
Please help us to find strength and to
find...
the positivity in President Benson's
transfer to Sister Williams.
when he was talking to me on the phone he said he almost considered just
ending my mission
because of mental illness
the way
you finish your mission is the way you finish your life he said he said it as a
threat
As if he thinks he knows something. I mean, could it have been one of the
families that we visited? Or maybe they found something during the apartment
check.
We weren't careful enough.
No, we were.
What if they send me home too?
They're not going to send you home, okay?
Listen.
We're gonna get through this, okay?
We'll just... We'll just have to finish this out and then just come back to Salt
Lake, okay? Just go back there and stay there and I'll come for you, okay?
I'll come find you, I promise.
It's not over, it's not over.
One more night.
who have overcome our trials.
Let the separation make us stronger and not weaker.
Let us not forget the bond that we have created on our journey together.
Help us, Father.
Jesus Christ, amen.
Is Brother Johnson on his way?
Yes.
I wondered who your new companion will be.
Is it wrong that I wish you would just stay solitary for a while?
Jessica.
I'll wait for you, okay?
I love you.
You know they say the way you finish your mission is the way you finish your
life I'll see you again
Thank you.
