Original subtitles

-I'm not going home! -Let the games begin.

They've proven they're the best... Yeah!

...of Naked and Afraid.

With my bare hands! Whoa!

Now, the toughest survival competition

on the planet is back.

Yes!

And more cutthroat than ever.

This time, you either have the skills or you don't.

To put 14 elite survivalists to the ultimate test.

In an all-out battle of skill for 45 days

in Africa's Munzwa Valley.

To crown the best of the best.

-Yes! -Ah.

And win $100,000.

This is what I live for! Yeah!

Failure means elimination.

This challenge will weed out the weak.

Who will rise?

-This is $100,000 on the line. ...Who will fall?

Makes me feel like I've been outcast.

This is the best of the best. With only one winner.

And who will be the last one standing?

I came here to win!

Previously on Last One Standing.

The survivalists were tested

in an archery and animal harvesting challenge.

-That come through? -It did!

Two camps were rewarded with a warthog.

Yeah!

Yes!

While Darrin, Patrick and Ky left empty handed.

Oh, we're going to elimination tomorrow, guys.

Ah.

But when Darren's lingering injury worsened.

He was medically removed from the competition.

Thank you for everything.

I definitely have some emotion welling up in me right now.

You can't beat Africa. You can only survive Africa.

Racing against the extreme heat.

Jeff, Dan and Trish expertly preserved their meat score.

We don't have a single fly in here.

It is absolutely perfect.

But Fernando and Gary delayed processing theirs.

And Fernando suffered the consequences.

Ky and Patrick were down a partner

and scored the largest kill of the competition.

Can I taste a little piece?

I mean, you don't have anything to trade?

Really? Really, dude?

But it reignited the tension between Patrick and Gary.

You're kind of a little baby, bro.

Now you're not going to probably get any meat

because you're being a dick.

I don't like confrontation when I...

You know, especially when I don't know

that it's necessary, but...

I just don't feel like it's necessary for him to come over here

in the middle of our with his hand out.

You have your thing with Gary for sure,

and I know that's a sensitive topic for you.

Um, so that's fine.

I just don't want to get tied with the same brush

or caught up in the middle of it.

But it was your base.

You made the decision.

He needs to leave us alone until we're ready to share.

I thought Gary was a survivalist,

but instead of being a survivalist,

he's acting like a beggar.

He was walking around with his bowl out,

looking for spare soup like Tiny Tim on Christmas.

This isn't a soup kitchen.

This is to test to see who's the top survivalist,

and it's not Gary.

At the end of the day, we...

-I think I feel best if I don't owe anyone anything, -Right.

And if we choose to move forward, we do it on our own.

I'll put some more of these tough cuts into the stew pile,

and they'll soften up.

Well, these actually are great strips

to go over the thing for jerky.

I don't know what's coming next

and when the next challenge is,

but food is most important at the moment.

Wow.

I've never seen someone so selfish.

It's a trip.

No matter who the hell you are,

when you act that way around a kill,

you are acting incredibly, weirdly selfish.

Everybody thinks they're a legend.

Patrick doesn't have those stripes.

You ain't a legend.

Until you've climbed the legendary ladder.

You're just in the game.

You're just part of the game.

You're just lucky enough to be out here.

Absolutely massive day for us today,

processing this nyala.

It's hot.

I'm sweating even though it's nighttime

and the moon's full up.

And I think tonight's gonna be a warm night.

Hasn't cooled down at all.

Both of us are drenched,

like we've just been swimming just from sweat.

Trying to make sure we preserve this meat tonight.

Yeah.

Mmm-hmm.

This is the biggest kill I've ever gotten with a bow.

I am like dominating this environment

and my other competitors aren't dominating like I am.

That being said, I need to focus on me

because I want to be the last one standing

and put a blow to a lot of these all-stars

and legends' egos.

Oh, I've got like a mouthful of fat.

Mmm-hmm.

I think we could kill something today.

All of our warthog has been successfully smoked,

but we only have a couple more days of that.

Dan and I have done enough of these challenges

that we understand that when you have the opportunity

to get food, you must go get food.

Down here.

It's a surprise to me and Dan and probably all of us

that Dan and I are getting along so well.

I can say I actually really like Dan,

but I'm also studying him.

I'm seeing how he thinks.

I'm seeing how he talks.

I'm seeing what he knows.

This is clearly a place where a lot of wildlife

is attracted to.

I'm kind of in a mind warp when I say this,

but Jeff is actually being a good teammate

and working with people and he's sharing.

I'm on guard.

I've seen Jeff use kindness and friendship

as a means to manipulate people

and Jeff's still playing the game.

There's warthogs everywhere.

Damn!

Dan and I, we're not even in the blinds yet

and we're letting the arrows fly.

We check our skull every day for a scroll.

Hasn't been one for a while.

Um...

So we don't know, but we know at some point

this is gonna be brought down from eight people

to seven people.

That's coming.

This is called last one standing for a reason.

Eight people are not gonna finish.

And so, um, that's always in my mind.

What's up?

Hey, another hot day.

Yeah, for sure.

Yeah.

Waiting for the challenges to come to eliminate you.

That is really the biggest part of the game.

I've been in Africa more than any survivalist

in the world of Naked and Afraid.

And I've never experienced this much heat.

But...

I have enough energy to go hunt in my blind I made.

There's two of us in a blind right now.

Dan has his own little shooting window to the left.

I have a shooting window

straight out to the water source.

Take me back to those days standing on the Amazon

with Matt Wright giving me some tips.

The most important thing, like I said,

you're holding this out, stability, anchoring,

full extension of the shoulders.

Oh heck, not bad.

That went right over.

Whenever I'm out here, never an expert, always a student.

You know, bow hunting ain't archery.

There's a lot that goes into it.

Dan and I have both now missed a warthog by mere inches.

And it's been hours since we've been in the blind.

How many more times are we gonna get a shot off?

It's been very, very hot the past couple of days.

These nyala, they have to drink.

If these animals don't drink, they will die.

And as they approach the water, they're very on guard.

-You hit it. -I hit it. I got it.

-You hit it. -It's through it.

Okay, keep an eye on it, Dan.

Track it.

It's the one in the back, is that right?

It was the one in the front.

-Okay. -It went right where I was aiming.

Okay.

-Okay. -Right around.

I've taken down hogs back in Hawaii,

but I've never taken down an animal like this in Africa.

I'm completely in shock over what I've done

and what this means, but I need to compose myself.

The job's not over.

Oh

Oh, dude.

Covered in blood.

All the way up to here.

We see the scuff marks.

We see which way it ran.

Clearly this must be where the nyala fell

and snapped the arrow off.

And I know it can't be far.

Oh, my God!

Oh!

Oh.

Oh, my God.

It's beautiful, look at that.

-She's beautiful. -Oh.

-Double lung shot. -Oh, my gosh.

Double lung shot, baby.

Great job, buddy.

Great job, buddy.

This is huge.

This is not some trivial win.

This is huge.

This is an absolute game changer.

My partner Dan here with the shot of a lifetime.

My first take down in Africa.

We've been enemies for more days than I can count.

And Dan and I have worked flawlessly

from the moment we were partnered.

-We did it! -We did it, baby!

We did it!

Final three, buddy.

We're going there.

Final three.

We're winning today.

We're winning today, baby!

This is huge.

This is absolutely massive.

We gotta get this back.

This is something I took down myself.

And it means a lot coming into my first fan challenge.

I got addicted to these things because of these moments.

This is a moment you remember for the rest of your life.

This is one of those things where if you're lying

on your deathbed, someone can say to you,

hey, remember that time you did that?

And you'd be like, "Yes."

I remember every detail of that moment.

And any day you can have an experience like that

is an incredibly valuable day.

An incredibly valuable thing to have in your life.

-Honey, we're home. -No way.

Are you ready for a long night?

Yeah! Whoo-hoo!

We have a lot of work ahead of us.

Oh, my gosh!

Oh, my God, congratulations!

Ah, there's some holes in my blind.

The sun starts hitting me.

The others, they weren't very sharing at all.

So now, I feel like I need to go out and hunt.

I can barely stand.

The sun just... it's like, it has fangs, you know?

It's like biting into your skin.

I'm sweating, I'm more dizzy.

I just, I'm going downhill fast.

The sand's burning me through my shoes.

Like, it is probably one of the hottest days we've had.

And we're having to work around fires

and work hard to make sure that this meat doesn't go off.

Honestly, I have never been in such intense heat like this

and not been able to escape it.

This meat has been smoked and sealed inside its layers,

but if we don't get it dry-dry,

then this African heat's gonna rot our meat

and everything will be for nothing.

Doing these three lines gave me even space.

I could use weight to get certain meats

lower than the others.

Dehydrating meat kills the microbes that cause spoilage,

creating preserved jerky that stays good for weeks.

Survival is about making smart decisions.

I'm here for the long run, not the short sprint.

And if I head out on days like today,

it's gonna take me out of this challenge

in half an hour.

Extreme heat like this can kill you in under three hours.

-Ready? Two, three. -Yep.

Okay.

-A little higher, a little higher. ...Okay, one more.

Right now, my only concern

is that not a single ounce of this meat spoils.

Hold on.

Here, maybe I can hold that up.

Whatever, that's good.

To be honest, this is probably the best day

I've ever had on Naked and Afraid.

The main goal is to not let the meat go bad,

preserve as much as possible,

and put as much as possible in my belly.

I'm gonna start stripping the rest.

Now you can hear all the flies, right?

Ooh, yeah. Yeah.

So I'm working as fast as I can.

We have to cut these steaks down into thinner strips,

get them hung, and the smoke from the smoker

will preserve them into jerky.

There's so much meat here.

This is like five warthogs.

Ooh, this is a big animal.

I don't know how much my camp

is willing to share with anybody.

I mean, we're still in a challenge,

so there's a fine line between doing this challenge

as strong as possible

and helping your competition be strong.

And if another camp or another person is not as successful,

that eliminates your competition in an organic way.

We're trying to get through this as fast as possible

so that we can go into the pond and cool off,

because it is hot.

That sun is hot.

Honestly, we don't know what's gonna get thrown at us

or when.

So until we find out what the next challenge is,

we have to survive against Africa,

and Africa is unforgiving.

Africa has taken out as many, if not more,

of our competitors than the challenges themselves.

We're taking turns in the pond.

It is a scorcher today, and, um, this is like,

we're like a pack of lions that made a fresh kill.

If we actually end up doing a challenge in a day like this.

It could take us all out.

Normally right now, it'd be getting

nice and cool and normal,

and we're all sitting here trying to not let our

body parts sweat against each other.

And like heat like this,

you try and do anything in heat like this,

and it's gonna fry your brain.

Oh, my God.

Is that Gary?

How you doing over there?

I gotta cool off.

I'm going downhill fast.

And I'm actually scared.

Gary's not doing well.

He tries to stand up, he gets a little dizzy.

It's horrible to watch, it really is.

Gary is exhibiting symptoms of heat exhaustion,

including nausea, vomiting, and dizziness.

It's scary seeing Gary in this condition.

Medic, medic, medic.

Gary is showing clear symptoms of heat exhaustion,

but if his blood pressure is elevated,

that could be a sign of heat stroke,

which could mean potential damage to the brain,

heart, and kidneys,

and immediate medical evacuation from the competition.

Gary, we need to have a conversation.

Yes.

Getting that kind of call on the radio

doesn't seem like it's good.

I'm fighting to stay in, because I can tell I'm close,

from getting pulled out.

And I'm in a battle, because I don't want to tap.

I still have a chance to win the competition.

Okay. So this is manageable.

Yeah. Yeah.

If you go into the water, let's say every 20 minutes,

-that kind of thing. -Yeah. Yeah.

I go in the water when I need to,

when it gets real hot.

I've been feeling really good like this.

-And every time I puke, I feel better. -Okay.

With Gary's blood pressure in the normal range,

the medic is able to rule out heat stroke.

If he maintains proper rest,

and stays hydrated to manage his heat exhaustion,

Gary is safe to remain in the competition.

This is part of these challenges.

I have enough experience to know what this is like.

The hot African sun.

I am dripping sweat.

-What? -Are you sweating?

I am sweating.

-Isn't that crazy? -Yeah.

Today was a hell of a day.

I was on thin ice for a while.

I thought I might be gone.

I was right on the edge, but I made it.

That's all that counts in here.

I am fighting.

Fighting to be the last one standing.

Uh-huh.

In addition to our warthog,

now we have a massive nyala,

all chopped up into pieces,

smoking over the fire like a fricking meat Christmas tree.

Look at this.

Absolute thing of beauty.

Meat upon meat upon meat.

And then our Christmas tree smoker

is decorated with a ribcage.

It's gonna be a busy night.

We're gonna be eating a long time.

We're gonna be eating.

Things change so fast out here.

Things get shuffled up,

but we've been on an upswing since we got here

and I'm trying to keep that going as much as possible.

Mmm, nyala.

Tastes like steak.

Victory has never tasted so sweet.

Mmm.

Hey, guess what?

What's up?

Uh, I see something over here.

Hey guys... We got a scroll.

I'm feeling a little better.

And it's time again to get into motion.

Whoa!

And there's three flasks.

Whoa, things are gonna change.

Open it!

What?

Ready?

What?

Wow.

"'Cause tomorrow you will migrate

and bushcraft by the light of your torch.

Head to the X by sundown tomorrow."

By sundown tomorrow?

-We're migrating. Tomorrow. -Tomorrow?

And this will be an elimination challenge.

Ooh.

O-M-Jesus.

This will be an elimination challenge.

Ooh.

O-M-Jesus.

Ah!

Wow.

Wow!

This scroll changes everything.

We did not expect a challenge today,

nor did we expect a migration

and an elimination challenge.

Each survivalist has 24 hours to build a primitive torch.

using the materials in their possession

or anything they can find in the surrounding area.

Each competitor is given an equal amount of cordage

as well as animal fat to render and use

as fuel for their torch.

Then they'll begin their two-day migration

with a five-mile journey to the marked location

and arrive before dark,

where they'll learn about the next phase

of their elimination challenge.

Torches are critical tools in primitive survival,

allowing for nighttime migrations and nocturnal hunts.

Get it.

With a torch!

-Look at that thing. -This is primal, man!

Oh, my goodness.

That's like a hell of a lot of fat.

Oh, wow.

Delicioso.

I feel like...

I feel like... I mean, torches are hard to build

in a natural environment.

Yeah, they are!

And to get them to stay lit,

like that's a hard thing to do.

Wow.

We need to build a torch that will stay lit

in order for us to do bushcraft

late in the evening tomorrow.

Okay, so today we construct a primitive torch, number one.

Wow, it's about to get hot.

Wow, okay.

I'm wondering what exactly we're gonna be able

to use in this area.

Building a primitive torch involves three crucial steps.

The survivalist must find or build a handle

to safely hold the torch.

They must devise a wick system

that will provide a long controlled burn

and they must render natural animal fat,

which will create the fuel for a flame.

A completed torch will need to supply enough light

for them to bushcraft in a dark environment.

Well, let's get started.

-All right. -All righty.

Good luck, us.

This will be my first large torch.

I've never made one of these before, but, um, whatever.

Uh, I'll do the best I can.

Same thing with the axe.

I had no idea how to make an axe,

but my axe actually helped us win.

Something like this.

That's a good idea.

I like it.

I'm gonna go collect some materials.

I start picking a couple pieces out of the wood pile

and then Dan and Trish jump on the wood pile with me

and start grabbing pieces of their own.

And I'm thinking, if they're already stealing my ideas

and I'm only 30 seconds into this competition,

I don't want them to know anything

about what I'm doing.

These people aren't my friends.

They're my competitors.

And I'm here to win.

I came here

to win.

Jeff takes off.

Kind of a weird tone in the air.

We've been friendly for a while, but it looks like

there's going to be a different dynamic.

I have no idea what's going to happen.

Jeff is all secretive.

Dan is all secretive.

And there's zero trust.

I'm sitting in the shelter

where all of the material is.

And I'm not walking around in the heat.

I'm just kind of like laying low,

staying close to home.

I am fine working by myself with this project.

I feel confident that I can do this task.

All right, let's start... making primitive torches.

Start bushcrafting.

Gary, Fernando, and I decide

to work together as a team.

We think that three minds are better than one.

You have any experience with this?

No, but...

I'm thinking...

find something that...

we could saturate

with animal fat.

And heat almost took me out yesterday.

And that's weighing on me, 'cause I'm thinking,

"I've got to go walk around in the hot sun."

But I can't even think about the migration.

I got to be in the moment.

I got to focus on the torches.

I'd like to make at least two good ones.

I've never built a torch before,

so this will be new to me.

It is an extremely hot day, so I just gotta remember

to take care of myself at the same time.

Well, you guys,

I'll walk around and look for different, like, stuff

to carry a torch.

Let's start playing with the fat

and seeing what we can and can't do.

Twice on challenges, I've built a primitive torch,

-but it's always been with... -Mm-hmm.

...like, I've had fatwood or I've had some sap.

All right, here we go.

This torch is amazing.

Got a fish!

Naked by Torchlight.

We could probably use the hide.

-Yeah, strips of it. -Mm-hmm.

-We re-wet it... -Mm-hmm.

...and then we... -cut it into little strips... -Yeah.

...and then we soak it in some fat.

It'll absorb that fat.

Which could help it burn.

We've got to render this down, though.

Like, this fat will absorb

so nicely into the pores of that hide.

Yeah, and the hairs, I bet, too.

-Look at that. -Amazing.

Do you want to work together or separately?

-Let's work together. -Yeah.

This is going to be the elimination challenge.

That being said, Ky has skills, and I have skills,

and we add those skills together,

it is a perfect equation for success.

Patrick and I, we're going to work together.

This could be an individual challenge.

But for now, we're a team.

We work together.

We both bring our ideas into it.

And I always feel in survival scenarios,

together, people are better.

I'm heading off away from everybody else.

I think things are still way too kumbaya

for my liking.

There's some different strategies

that are coming to my mind when building this torch.

For one,

which I already saw my campmate instantly steal, is

I went to the back of the shelter

and I started grabbing

all the best pieces of ironwood.

And then immediately, they followed me right after.

The ironwood is special because...

if you use it as your torch handle,

the wood burns very, very slowly.

I don't want to give all of my ideas

to my campmates for free.

This is not Naked and Afraid XL.

This is not Naked and Afraid of Love.

This is Naked and Afraid: Last One Standing.

And if you can't pull your own weight,

you're going home.

We could possibly be breaking up.

And, um, it's what it feels like.

I mean, we're all doing individual torches.

I have a couple different designs.

Here's one.

It doesn't look like much, but this is the handle,

and then here's the rest of it.

I'm gonna fill it with the fat, wrap it with the wick.

I'm doing, um... I'm doing these braids,

and then I'm gonna...

I'm gonna knot them periodically throughout

so that should it burn too fast,

it'll, like, get held up on these knots.

Just like the axe challenge,

I've never built an axe before.

And I've never built a primitive torch.

I've got abundance of materials

I've been collecting along the way.

And I've got skulls and horns

and sticks and pieces of hide.

I found this kudu horn at the last location,

and I've just been...

carrying it around.

I'm going to use the top part of this kudu horn

as part of a frame to make a candle.

And use my hide to...

layer the inside, and then fill that with...

lard and a wick.

I think my best torch is going

to be this wrapped in a cone shape.

So I need to get it wet, and flatten it out,

and then I can work with it a little bit better.

Here's the thing, if the fuel source is

at the top of the torch,

then the flame that leaves the fuel

will be just going up into the air,

not touching anything.

But if you put your fuel source inside of the torch,

the flame will raise and slowly...

catch the top of the torch on fire, too.

So even when the fuel runs out,

your torch might still continue burning.

And I'm not going to tell anybody.

This torch could mean the difference

between you staying in the challenge and you losing.

And really, in my mind, there's one winner

and everyone else is a loser.

So I'm here to win.

And I feel like I'm going to start to...

to really... maybe not be the quiet church mouse

that I have been

for the first four weeks of this challenge.

I think it's time to let the tiger out of its cage.

Green sticks break easier.

I can pack the fibers in there for a torch,

and I'm pretty confident

it'll be something that will be long-lasting.

Just break the tuft into small bits and do...

a little bit throughout the day so I don't overheat.

You guys all working together?

-By myself. -Mm-hmm.

Kind of.

-Oh, is he? -Yeah.

I think the reason that Ky and I are

going to win this challenge is

because Ky and I are working together.

Jeff, Dan, and Trish are working separate,

working in as individuals.

I get that this is a competition, but...

they could be sharing tips with each other

to try to get me out of this game.

I'm going to make this a little bit like

the fish spear.

Just prop these open a little bit.

Fire needs oxygen as well as a fuel source to burn

and fuel source and heat.

So if we wrap the strips in here

and they're too tight,

then they're not going to get the oxygen to burn.

But if we can just give it a bit of air,

it'll burn hot and bright, but hopefully not too fast.

It's so good we can just...

work together and not worry about...

hiding our ideas.

In fact, I think, together,

contributing ideas, we can be stronger than...

just individually trying to create one of these things.

I almost got taken out 'cause of that heat out there.

And right now, I got to go out and scout around

and look for dead wood to make a torch.

I just got to be careful.

I'm looking for empty cylinders.

So if the light's on fire,

the wood alone will reflect off of each other

and just get hot in there.

I found funnels of wood, and I'm going to make a torch

with fat-soaked rope tucked in it.

It has a chance

to burn all the way down.

I'm making a torch based on the science of fire

that I'm good at.

While I'm busting away on this, Fernando and Dani are

rendering and cooking down oil.

This is complicated.

I actually have built a torch before

on a previous challenge on XL

uh, using some tree sap they had in the Amazon forest.

The fish come to shore to sleep,

and with enough light you can actually see them

and just whack them with your machete

while they're sleeping.

I have this rendered fat to use this time.

Common animal fats begin to melt

when heated beyond 104 degrees.

To create a consistent render,

the fat is simmered at a low temperature

for several hours,

periodically adding water and stirring

to prevent burning.

Dr. Fernando Calderon,

we're currently doing our first trial of the...

cordage soaked in lard oil

to see burn time and burn speed.

You don't want to burn your torch right away.

You want it to burn kind of slower

and provide you as much light as possible.

We're going for a longer duration,

not like a quick and easy torch.

That's burning really fast.

Wow.

So you need the flame to stay up.

I've been testing everything out.

And every time I start on a plan,

I think of a better plan.

For this one,

just wrapping the hide around the end of this kudu horn

that I cut off.

Eventually I'll be able to stick a piece of wick right in

and fill it with lard.

And this natural back, this edge of the kudu horn here

will prevent the wick from blowing out too easily.

Um, so I think this will burn quite a while.

These kind of things are a...

they're work-smarter not-harder challenges.

It's problem solving.

You gotta kinda figure out the best way.

I want something that's gonna shine bright

that I can bushcraft next to

and do whatever challenge comes tomorrow.

For a handle for this, I think I want something

with a Y at the end,

just to give it a little bit more stability.

This candle caught my focus here.

Attach this to a big stick.

Dan's torch is made from a piece of carved deadwood,

warthog hide for support,

a kudu horn for stabilization,

and a wick dosed with animal fat for burn longevity.

Look at my tiki torch.

I've been guilty of over-engineering in the past.

Um, so I think I'm going to bring a few different options.

I'm just going to have to keep working at it.

There we go.

Now that I've got my wick run through my torch,

I'm going to soak it in my rendered animal fat.

And I'm doing all of my work in secret today.

I like this torch because it's so...

long.

And even if my wick were to go out,

the torch itself would probably be alight on fire.

Seems to work pretty dang good.

And as you can see,

it's not really burning the rope a whole lot.

It's burning the animal fat

that has saturated the rope, just like an oil lamp.

This is perfect.

We can weave these in those torches.

Mm-hmm.

Now that we got these hides softened,

we're cutting them into strips.

And then we're going to wrap them in our torches

and wrap cordage around that and dip it in lard.

That is going to keep these torches going

for a long time.

So right now, I am taking the rendered fat that I have

and soaking it up into the jute

to get it totally covered.

Hopefully, this should be enough.

Patrick and Ky's torches are made from split greenwood

with carved nyala hide,

providing a cup for the rendered animal fat

and fat-soaked jute twine to help it catch a flame.

We're finishing up our torches.

And these are easy to light.

Like, that's phenomenal.

Mm-hmm.

I feel like if you do too many trials

with your actual torches,

you're going to, like, eat into them, you know?

Someone's going to go home tomorrow.

Uh, trying to make it not be me.

My torch is kind of big and heavy.

Um, I'm sticking with a simple design.

It could go badly because there isn't a lot to it.

But sometimes in these challenges,

it helps to not overthink things.

Fernando's torch is

made from a large piece of deadwood for his base.

And he wrapped the top

with rope saturated in animal fat.

It's the right size for my tiny body to carry.

I hope it's not a disadvantage for me,

but at least I know I did everything I could.

Dani has opted for a lighter piece of deadwood.

With a hollow top, she has filled with small sticks

and rendered animal fat, then wrapped with rope,

also saturated in the fat.

This looks like torch land.

I'm happy with my design.

Hopefully it doesn't burn too fast.

And you know, it's almost like it can't work too good.

It has to work slow and burn slow.

Gary has used a hollow piece of deadwood.

By stuffing the inside with fat-saturated rope

and small pieces of kindling, he's built a torch

that should have a large flame and burn bright,

but could burn fast.

That looks really good, buddy.

Thanks.

I'm cooking up this neck piece.

Just remember where you put it.

My belly.

We built our torches.

And knowing how big of a day tomorrow is

with the migration and the challenge,

the potential team shift, whatever happens tomorrow,

energy is a big deal.

So tonight, we're having a little dinner.

Dan's just in there stuffing himself.

Is he?

Yeah. I can see him eating.

-He's just eating. -He does...

He does love to take more than his share.

Ah.

It is true.

I've been waiting for you

to notice and say something, but...

-I've been keeping the peace. -I know.

You don't care?

I naturally say everything I think...

-Okay. -...and it gets me into trouble sometimes.

I thought it was interesting,

'cause you haven't said anything, and I was like,

"Well, maybe it was just me

this whole time noticing that."

I'm glad you just said it.

I'm just being strategic.

This game is down to eight people.

And at some point,

people are going to start to get cutthroat out here.

And... I'm not above that.

What's that?

Mm.

I'm sorry.

Oh.

Oh, my God.

Is your stomach feeling any better right now?

Oh, yeah, I'm perfect.

Oh, good. Good... Yeah, I feel great, 100%.

-I was worried. -No, that was good.

I just had to get that trash out of my stomach.

Yeah.

I'm not sure what's going on with Jeff and Trish.

Seems to be something they ate,

but we've all been eating the same exact thing.

I've been eating meat this whole time,

and I have not had a problem.

Yeah. I don't know.

The only reason why

the two of us are sick like this with diarrhea

is because of the rotten food that Dan put in the pot.

At this point, I've been with Dan since the beginning,

but do I trust him?

Hell no.

We don't want to say anything just yet,

but now our guards are up.

In Last One Standing,

we know that sabotage is allowed.

I'm still a little gaseous.

My stomach still isn't 100%, but...

it's a lot better than it was last night.

So I'm on the mend.

There's nothing I can do about this now.

But believe me,

I never forget.

Hides and torches.

It's going to be a pretty heavy hike.

Yeah, and our pots.

We have to get to the next location by sundown.

And Patrick and I had a lot of jerky

that we needed to store somehow.

So I have a massively heavy backpack of Nunalemi

So much stuff.

Hands are full.

Patrick and I are hoping for an individual challenge.

We have the other teams with three members each.

So if they get to go in three members strong,

then Patrick and I are going to be under the gun.

I don't want to go home,

so I'm going to give this everything I've got.

I think I'm carrying more weight

than I currently weigh right now.

Oh, guaranteed, I am too.

Now we're actually...

migrating, leaving for a challenge,

not knowing where we're sleeping.

This is, um...

Yeah, dude, it kind of feels a little dangerous.

I have four torches going into this challenge.

It's kind of crazy to be going into a competition

this late in the day.

Oh, hey, guys.

-Hi. -Hey.

-Hey, y'all. ...Y'all packed up and ready?

Yeah.

Migration day.

-Let's do it. -Challenge day.

We're packing up our stuff, getting ready to migrate,

and then we're doing some bushcraft by the torchlight

for elimination.

But... I'm feeling pretty good about it.

I feel like I can pull this off.

Oh, boy.

You know, it's getting blazing hot.

And... I'm already weak.

This has been a tough challenge.

I'll make you not want to say it

and hate me while you feed me.

You're doing a great job.

Dude, you're pissing me off, so stop.

Dude,

I just thought I'd ask for a little piece of meat, bro.

Just leave.

So, to tell you the truth, it scares the out of me.

Woo, yeah, what a hot day.

Brutal.

Let's do it.

Bring it on.

Let's go.

With just three hours until sunset,

the competitors begin

the first half of a two-day migration

through a dense, scrub-filled savanna...

It's way too dangerous

to walk around Africa after dark,

so we really need to get going.

...where deadly puff adders lurk underfoot

and lions stalk silently in the tall grass.

That's not going to be fun walking through this.

This is crazy.

I know.

How does the ropes feel on your shoulders?

Uh, You know, probably as comfortable as it looks.

Migration day is one of the most physically demanding

and exhausting days that you can have

on a Naked and Afraid challenge.

My pack alone weighs probably 75 pounds

with all of my meat.

And on top of all of that,

we have an elimination challenge?

This day might just kill somebody.

Still hot too, huh?

Yeah, it is.

I heard growling.

Yeah, there's all kinds...

I, like, legit heard growling.

Oh, this is crazy.

Like, walking into darkness like this?

I know.

Africa can take you out in various ways,

mental, physical, emotional.

And it's getting me a little bit more cautious.

I don't want to misstep at this point

in the competition.

Whoa, look at that cave.

Wow, that is massive.

Wow!

Oh, check that out!

That must be where we're going.

That's about where it looks like on my map.

With a cave, we're thinking rain protection, shade.

But we know that in that cave,

it's going to swallow someone up

and take them out.

And check out the fire marks on the walls.

Somebody's lived in here before.

It was a shelter location for people in the past.

It might be a shelter location for us.

But it looks like a challenge location.

Whoa.

-This is incredible. -Look at this place.

Holy cow.

This is huge.

Wow.

That was a long hike.

-Yeah. ...Looks like a scroll.

We got a scroll, huh?

-I know what that means. -It means business.

Relative to anyone,

my camp in the last location had more food

and more food stores than anybody.

We had salt.

My mind, my body is in good shape.

And I don't think

I could really be in a better position right now.

I'm ready for it.

After a long migration,

carrying heavy stuff, hot and grueling,

I'm feeling weak.

I'm hoping I can even make it through this challenge.

"Your challenge will start at sundown.

From now on, you will compete as individuals

-to remain in the competition. -" -Yeah.

I love the idea of competing individually.

If I fail and if I succeed, then it's all on me.

And I'm more than happy to take that success.

"First, surrender all assets you have acquired."

-Oh, wow. -Oh, man.

-Not again. -What?

Oh, I was doing well.

I was doing well, baby.

I've got my bow. I've got my arrows.

I have a whole pot of salt.

"You must earn your use of these going forward."

The survivalists will compete

to reclaim their surrendered items,

which include four sets of bows and arrows,

one block of salt, two sets of fishing line and hooks,

one set of hunting knives, and one cast net.

"The order of your finish determines your claim

to these items."

The first place finisher will claim three items,

second place two items,

and the remaining finishers will claim one item.

The survivalist who fails to finish will be eliminated

from the competition.

Whoa.

Three items?

That is huge.

That could help me get back in the game.

Three items?

It's gonna give whoever gets it a huge leg up.

"At sundown, light your torch in the fire."

All right, well, we got some time before.

I guess let's put our items back.

All our items again.

Yep, I guess let's unload them.

-Yep. -All right.

Right now, we can't start until sundown.

The anticipation's killing me.

We were rationing the salt to get us to day 45,

and it's only day 28,

and we're already having to part with it.

If I would've known, I would've ate more.

I love my bow and arrow set,

so it's so hard to give those up.

We know we're going to be doing some kind

of bushcraft skill by torchlight,

but we don't know what.

But I know I could come home empty handed.

So that's one lot with a little hook bag

and another lot with a little hook bag.

So there goes my two fishing assets.

But hopefully I'll be able to grab something important.

You get attached to things, don't you?

You do.

I earned everything I needed.

I earned salt, and now I have to give it all back.

You have to earn everything out here,

and you're going to need to reprove yourself

every single day.

But I've already proved twice that I can get myself on top.

With the sunset, the competitors reveal the details

of their next challenge.

"You must craft a figure-four deadfall trap

by the light of your torch."

-Whoa. -Wow.

That's going to be hard.

-That's... that's tough. -Yeah.

That's my Wile E. Coyote trap.

I'm feeling pretty good about this one.

All right, moment of truth.

-When used correctly... -Yes!

That's revenge protein, baby.

...primitive deadfall traps have proven indispensable

in securing protein in Naked and Afraid challenges.

-Oh, yeah! -Yeah!

A figure-four deadfall trap is

made with three sticks and a rock,

exact notches and precise spacing

on the release stick,

bait stick, and main support stick

hold the trap in the shape of a figure four.

A correctly weighted rock,

when placed on top of a release stick,

puts the deadfall trap under tension.

When an animal touches the bait stick,

the figure four collapses,

causing the rock to fall on its prey.

To win this competition, the survivalists must build...

Got it.

...trigger...

Animal would come in for the bait, trip it.

...and reset their traps...

There we go.

-Okay. -Clear.

...by the light of their torches.

Good luck, ladies and gentlemen.

"The last survivalist to set up their trap

will be eliminated."

Oh.

Of course.

I'm not confident with figure-four deadfalls.

My food doesn't require a rock hitting it

in order for me to harvest it.

So this is really challenging for me.

Somebody's not sleeping in this cave.

Our adrenaline is pumping right now.

The idea of sending another one of my competitors home

is huge.

I'm excited for this.

We're fighting to stay here, but at the same time,

we're fighting to get someone out of here

so we can win.

-All right. -It's time to go.

"Your challenge begins now."

-Let's go. -It's on.

When the sun goes down,

the teeth come out.

First one lit.

I guarantee you, I have the best torch

of anybody here.

I can already tell it's gonna last me this entire challenge.

The survivalists have been tasked

with building a figure-four deadfall trap

from the nearby thicket.

They must first harvest strong, workable sticks,

and a rock heavy enough to trap small game.

But not too heavy to be supported.

Throughout my challenges, I've used

a variety of deadfalls and snares,

um, different traps.

So I feel confident about building the trap.

-I'm excited. -I'm pumped for sure.

But I'm, like, keeping my head very cool

because I have everything

in my working parameter by that torch.

Someone's gonna have to go home tonight.

But I know it's not gonna be me.

Once trap materials are retrieved

from outside the cave, each survivalist

must complete three steps.

Step one, cut and notch the sticks.

Step two, set up the figure-four and then trigger it.

Step three, reset the trap.

I quickly notch the side of the main support stick first,

then bury it in the ground.

That way, when I make notches in my bait stick

and my support stick, I can test it on the fly

when it's in its final position.

Okay.

I am just stressed,

even with finding my rock, the rock size, my sticks.

I know my rock is kind of big and heavy.

I need the right sizes right dimensions,

you know, kind of a foreign skill for me.

I've definitely dabbled with it in the past,

but just not very much.

Working by a fire like this

is not the best way to make these trips.

Excited for this challenge.

Even though the figure-four deadfall is

a historically very simple design,

we're racing against the clock,

and you actually have to put it together perfectly.

Precise notches on the release, bait,

and main support sticks are essential for maintaining

the figure-four trap's delicate balance.

The thing about these deadfall traps is

they're pretty finicky.

-Yeah, I know. ...You want it to be finicky.

Otherwise, it's not gonna trigger when the animal comes.

But that also means that making it

is a little bit of a finicky process.

One little part of that figure-four deadfall is off,

the whole thing's off.

Right now, I am just trying to focus as best as I can

to get this figure-four set up.

I want a real nice straight cut.

So far, my torch is doing pretty well,

so I don't think that's gonna be the issue in this.

What's really gonna be the issue is

being faster than my competition right now,

and focus on myself

because that's what's most important right now,

getting this trap done so I don't go home.

Okay.

All right.

I'm just trying to get this cut tight.

This is the main

pivotal bit of the trap.

I've got a great rock that has a flat base.

I know exactly what I'm looking for with this trap.

Every little detail is gonna help me be faster

at making this.

I'm currently trying to get my three sticks set up.

And then carve them into the appropriate shape.

My biggest concern right now is not cutting myself.

It is hard to work with this knife.

It's just not an easy task to do,

and then on top of it, rush, and be stressed

that everybody else is doing the same thing.

And it's get the trap done or elimination.

So it's hectic, it's stressful.

All right, so my torch is doing fantastically.

I can see as if I have my shop light on back home,

and that's gonna give me an advantage.

So designing your trap once

and making sure it works is important.

But what's just as important

is making sure it'll work again and again.

One trap could feed you 20 times.

After completing his notches,

Gary is the first to move on to step two,

setting his trap.

Okay.

Even though my torch is staying lit,

it's not really providing me with enough light.

I'm trying to pull the wick through.

It's burning my fingers.

And then I realize I just need to go and swap out my torch.

Goddamn it.

I'm going back and grabbing another torch.

It's stressful because every second counts out here.

Oh.

This is my first time building a torch.

It is not going how I expected it to go.

This rock...

My rock I picked is really heavy,

and it's just crushing all my sticks.

Just looking for a little bit lighter.

More leaves... Okay. That might be all I get.

I'm not really super, super familiar with this deadfall trap.

Just... I'm just learning that you have to just go

real slow and steady.

You can't go fast.

At first, I'm not panicking.

I'm thinking I'm by middle of the pack.

But, um, I know the last one to finish goes home.

I'm just remembering how

these will go back together again.

It's critical as well.

I'm confident in my torch.

I'm never confident in my traps.

You never know what's gonna happen

at the end of the day with one of these,

as far as triggering it and getting the balance right.

The hardest thing for me

is trying to make these precise cuts

by the light of a torch.

That flickering light means that

my cuts aren't as precise as usual,

and it definitely takes a little bit longer

to get the angles I need to make a good figure-four.

I don't get it.

I'm just silent, focused, not playing around on this.

-This is serious. -This is elimination.

I've been down this road before

on the previous Last One Standing.

Put it on, like, land it on the top.

Well, if you go like that, it'll tell you if the weight will hold.

It goes here, and then that pushes on that.

There we go.

Don't touch it.

Pop!

Luckily, that figure-four now, is locked in my brain.

I don't know how anyone else is doing around me.

I'm flat out focused on what's happening for me,

and I'm quite surprised when my figure-four trap holds.

Nice.

Ky is first to set and trigger her figure-four trap,

and has pulled into the lead.

But now she must reset her trap

to successfully complete the challenge.

So while designing a trap that can be easily set,

it's also important that it can be easily reset.

A good trap can be used multiple times.

So if you do catch a little animal,

it's just an easy reset

and you have another opportunity at a food source.

I hear grumblings of success.

But I'm like, "Okay, just stay focused."

Oh.

That's it. I think I may have done this.

Here we go.

That trigger, I got to reset it.

A good figure-four trap has to be able to be reset.

Otherwise, the trap isn't good.

I had set my trap first before Gary and triggered it,

but I can't seem to reset the trap again.

And now Gary's flat on my heels.

These items we're fighting for

could be the difference between winning and losing.

Okay.

The winner gets three items,

and it can take me to the finish line

with the energy I need

to make it to be the last one standing.

Getting close.

Nice.

Of the eight competitors,

Ky and Gary have successfully set up

and triggered their figure-four deadfall traps.

Here we go.

The first to reset their trap

will earn their choice of three survival items.

Gary's flat on my heels.

The triggering of the trap

has actually dislodged the lip that I set the trap on.

So when I go to reset the trap again, that little bump

that was holding my trap in place is now gone,

and I have to refigure how to make this trap stay.

Yes. We're good.

Yeah!

Yeah.

I did it. I won this thing.

Yeah!

I have an advantage right now.

I get three items.

I'm gonna be armed to the teeth.

I'm pumped for sure.

Yeah. I did it.

Gary does beat me to the finish line,

but I'm flat out focused on what's happening for me.

Okay, finally. I did it.

Yes!

-Watch out, mate. -Ky!

Oh.

Well done.

-Well done, buddy. -Yeah.

-Oh, man. -Oh.

Oh, my goodness, I'm just shaking.

I was so close for so long to coming first.

But you know what? I don't care about coming second.

I still get two items.

I'm in this game.

I get to sleep in this glorious cave tonight,

and, uh, one step closer.

-This is the way to do it. ...Yeah.

And we're gonna be equipped.

Yeah.

-We are. -Yeah.

What to do? What to do?

Gary finishes in first place

and will get to pick three items,

with Ky coming in second and picking two items.

The next five competitors to finish

will each get to select one of the remaining items

and secure their spot in the challenge.

The last to finish will be eliminated.

Right now I am feeling the pressure.

I'm feeling hot.

But I do not want to go home.

So I just got to keep working, keep my head cool

and keep persevering.

I got to get this done.

I'm still trying to get that third place.

I got to focus up.

Okay. I'm being very careful

to do this right the first time.

I'm taking my time, not rushing through it.

The thing is, the only challenge

that you need to come in first is the one on day 45.

My center stick, I'm gonna drive into the ground.

I want

this stick here.

I'm cutting my material.

They're all the proper size,

they're all the proper length.

And now I'm gonna slow it down a little bit

and make sure all my angles, all my cuts, are perfect.

Just trying to get it

finely balanced right now.

I'm feeling pretty good. I'm getting there.

I'm getting somewhere.

I have all the parts of my figure-four now,

but it's really important to

have a trap that you can reset.

If you can't reset your trap,

it severely limits the usefulness of them.

They're not staying.

I don't understand why it's not working.

The light is not that bright, so it's difficult to see

the cuts that I'm trying to make

to really, like, line everything up.

It's just not an easy task to do.

Okay.

I'm just gonna keep trying.

I just need to fix this.

The pressure builds up

as everybody starts completing their challenge.

I definitely don't want to go home.

I'm just trying to take my time.

I don't want to have to start over from scratch,

so I'm really trying

to calculate exact angles and sizes

and focus on the notches in all of my pieces.

I want a real nice straight cut.

This is my third bait stick.

And honestly, I got to get this done.

I got it.

Yes.

Done.

Yes!

Yes.

We're not getting eliminated. We're going on.

I am third place.

I'm the newbie. And guess what?

I'm still here, and you're still gonna be watching me

kick ass in this competition.

I'm feeling like I'm about to finish.

Good.

Good.

All right. There we go. I got it.

Yes!

Gary, Ky, and Patrick, all tough competitors.

Everyone up here is well deserved,

but I'm in it to win it.

-It was a tough one. -I got set back a little bit

because I think I over thought my tiki torch design.

All I needed was a knot in a horn. Who knew?

What is happening?

What am I doing wrong?

I gotta get a new stick.

Something broke in my configuration.

Something got crushed by the rock.

So now I'm starting over

because all my sticks are messed up.

So now I'm, like, low-key panicking.

Why is this my hardest challenge?

The pressure is building, and you hear people failing.

And your heart, you can feel beating out of your chest.

Uh, no.

Done.

Got it.

Trap reset.

Yeah, baby!

This is what I live for.

Gosh, I love this.

I freaking love this.

This is a competition, baby!

And I'm here for it.

All right. Shut up.

I'm stressed out. I can't even concentrate.

Five survivalists have completed the figure-four trap,

and will continue into the next phase

of the competition,

leaving just Trish, Dani and Fernando

competing for the final two spots.

I... I have the idea. I just can't get it to, like...

-Line up. -...line up

and stay up, and I keep getting my sticks confused.

I know. I did, too.

And then I cut them on the wrong sides

and I tried to recover, and it didn't work.

It's getting darker and darker.

I'm working on my trap, trying to perfect it.

I'm just trying to keep cool,

stay calm and get done what I need to get done.

There it is.

I got it.

Vegetarians with a deadfall trap.

This is not how I catch my food, ever.

So it's cool.

I'm really happy to say that I'm still here,

and it's just another reason to believe in myself

and I know that I earned my spot.

Hey, Dani.

I did it.

I know.

-Jeff. -Gary.

-Yeah. -Congrats, buddy.

Now it's down to Fernando and Trish.

I actually finished fifth, uh, in this challenge, but,

um, there's four bows.

And, of course, I'm thinking strategically right now.

And I'm already pulling Gary to the side.

Gary has run out of food.

Meanwhile, I have plenty of food.

Will we split it?

-Yes. -Okay.

-Half of your food for the bow. ...Yep.

And that salt is way more than one man can eat.

So I would like some salt, too.

At least one of the three pieces.

Okay?

Dude, we're, you know, we're in.

-Yes. -I like it.

I feel like I have maybe the closest bond with Gary

of maybe anyone out here,

uh, and I understand how he ticks. So...

-I'm talking with the man with the meat. -It's fantastic.

This is strategy.

This is gamesmanship right now.

And if I can make a trade that helps Gary and helps me,

I'm gonna do it.

I'm on life support, guys.

Okay, just gotta stay calm, think clearly.

It started out so good.

With only one spot remaining,

Trish and Fernando are the last two survivalists

battling to remain in the competition.

We're both working feverishly,

it adds to the stress, adds to the anxiety,

because I'm right next to her. I can see her progress.

I can see how she's doing.

I'm just thinking, I do not want to go home.

I do not want to go home.

That's running through my mind, like,

"Figure this out, Fernando, figure this out."

Finish Strong. Finish hard. Keep going.

Come on, Trish.

Figure this out.

I don't like doing these under pressure.

Fernando and I are pretty neck and neck,

-but I came here to play. -I came here to win.

I feel like I could pull this off.

Almost done.

I got it.

Oh, my God.

Trish set a trap before Fernando.

I can't believe it.

They're working hard right now,

but it's getting down to the wire.

Okay.

She gets it built.

All she has to do is rebuild it, and she's done.

And I think I'm dead in the water.

I actually really don't want to go home.

I don't either.

I literally, I am sure I am going home at this point.

This goes on top and this holds everything.

And I know my kids are gonna be watching this,

so I keep going. I keep going.

If there's a faint pulse, I'm gonna keep going.

Set it back up, Trish.

Set it back up.

Come on, you two.

Oh, crap.

Okay, it's up.

I hit this.

-And now I do it again. -You've got to, like,

reset it, and that's where I'm at. Resetting.

Oh, boy.

I have made a figure-four deadfall before.

Not recently.

It's been a while.

So, being neck and neck with him, it's intense.

-Who's gonna go home? -Is it gonna be me?

The reason I'm here is to win.

This is it. It's do or die.

It's down to the wire.

Watch out, everybody. Watch out.

Damn!

Dan and I, we're not even in the blind yet,

and we're letting arrows fly.

For this competition, the PSR

or primitive survival rating

weighs an individual's survival skills

and items collected

to determine the likelihood of becoming

the last one standing.

Dan took another step as a competitor

by bringing down his first big game animal in Africa...

Oh, my God.

This is huge.

...giving him enough meat

for the rest of the challenge.

There is so much meat here.

This is like five warthogs.

His PSR rises from 9.7 to 9.8.

Desperate for protein...

I just thought I'd ask for a little piece of meat, bro.

Now, you're not gonna probably get any meat

'cause you're being a dick.

...Gary pushed himself to the point of heat exhaustion.

Yeah!

But then rallied to take first place

in the torch and figure-four challenge... Yeah!

...securing his choice of three items.

His PSR rises from 8.8 to 9.0.

Jeff's skill processing meat

provided a haul of nyala jerky.

I think I'm carrying more weight

than I currently weigh right now.

And though he finished fifth

in the deadfall trap challenge...

...his food bounty

puts him on the brink of a major trade...

-Okay. Again... -I'm prepared -to go that far. -Okay.

Pushing his PSR up from 9.3 to 9.4.

head over to facebook.com/nakedandafraid.

And then you've got to, like,

reset it, and that's where I'm at. Resetting.

Oh, boy.

Trish and Fernando are the last two survivalists

competing in the final phase of this elimination challenge.

The first one to reset their figure-four trap

will remain in the competition,

and the other will be immediately eliminated.

Wow. You guys, battling it out.

Yeah. It's like neck and neck.

The reset, that's the trick.

That's the problem I'm having.

As I go to reset my trap, it won't set back up.

I had it. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

So I'm thinking maybe it would be best if

Fernando went home today

and Trish were to stay in the challenge,

because I know I can beat Trish on the next challenge.

This could be over any second if Trish gets this.

Stay super calm.

Super calm.

-Take your time. -Okay.

Dear God.

Okay. Oh, !

Holy!

-Did you get it? -Holy!

Whoa.

Did he... -Oh, my God. -Did you do it?

Oh, my God. Now... -Oh. -Oh, my God!

Oh, my God!

Oh, my God! Oh, my God!

Oh, my God!!

Oh, my God! Oh, my God!

I can't even express

what a shock that was that I'm not eliminated.

It was down to Trish and I.

All she had to do was reset it.

I was sure I was done.

And I just keep plugging away.

And here I am.

It is the biggest emotional roller coaster

I've had on this challenge so far.

I was sure I was gonna be sent home today.

Oh, my God, Trish.

-I thought I had it. -I just couldn't get it reset.

And I think that is what motivated him

to really press harder.

-Good job. Good job. -Oh, my God.

The was the most neck and neck ever.

Oh, no, I don't like this.

Oh, my God.

-You did great. -Congratulations.

I never really had a chance to get to know Trish.

But it's always disappointing to see another female go home.

Congratulations, everybody.

But you'll all except one be where I'm at right now.

-Yeah. ...I wish you all the best.

For the rest of you losers,

I'll see you when I see you.

For the winner, congratulations.

It's a weird feeling,

having never tapped out on a challenge,

having never had a med tap on a challenge,

and never leaving a challenge

earlier than it has ended.

All right, guys, good luck.

Bye, Trish.

I'm sure there's a lot of people out there

that did not have their money on me.

But I've made it 28 days,

and that's still a great accomplishment.

I'm happy with the game I played.

I mean, day one, I came in first.

Yes!

First? What?

That's incredible.

Pull it!

Oh, !

It was my girly ax

that helped us win that ax challenge.

Not only was it my idea and my design for the net,

that net got us tons of fish that kept us going.

First place is up for grabs right now, guys.

Separating the hide from the leg down here.

-Good job. -Let's go, guys!

I'm really proud of what I've accomplished out here.

We did it!

Yes!

I feel like I gave it my all.

Last One Standing was very difficult,

but so rewarding.

I did come out here to play, and I came out here to win,

and I feel very accomplished, and I'm proud of myself.

I really am.

With Trish eliminated from the competition,

only seven competitors now remain.

You made it.

I don't even know what I'm doing here right now.

I was dead in the water.

Next, they will choose

from the surrendered survival tools,

with first place getting three items,

second place, two items, and the rest, taking one item

based on the order of their finish in the challenge.

A lot of assets over here.

So I get three.

I think I'll start with...

the simple one.

Salt.

I'll take bow and arrows.

Jeff doesn't have access to a bow

because he's too far down the line.

Gary's got two bows.

By letting Jeff get the bow,

I got a whole lot of meat coming to me.

I'm gonna take a bow.

And I'm gonna take a fishing asset as well.

I think I'm gonna go with a bow.

No more bows on the table, people.

Uh, fishing asset.

-It's okay. -I wanted my bow back,

but a fishing asset's more secure.

You know what?

I'm gonna take this cast net.

I'm gonna go for the knives.

-Last, but not least. -Oh.

The fireman and the ax.

This seems appropriate. You know?

This is an awesome tool. Happy to have it.

Um, anybody want to negotiate?

Well, I think we have one more thing to do.

Gary and I.

Yeah, maybe we'd like to share something with you.

Gary.

A cast net...

and half of my entire food cache

for one of those bows.

Wow.

And that salt is way more than one man can eat.

Okay. And... -Half of your food for the bow. -Yeah.

Warthog and the nyala, split right down the middle.

Could feed you to the day 45.

You in?

I'm in.

You know a deal is a good one when

both parties are stronger because of it.

Right off the bat.

And everyone else, they're weaker because of it,

and that is exactly where I want them.

-Pick up your bow. -I like it.

Jeff is back in the hunting game.

Back in the hunting business.

-Looks like I'm eating and hunting. ...Yeah.

You know, me and Jeff unified on this.

I got him a bow. He gets to hunt.

He got me meat.

We're in a power position right now.

-That's a little bit of shock and awe right there. -Yeah.

Jeff manipulates people with kindness and friendship.

And this time, he's trying to

buddy up to Gary suddenly,

and make these, like, friendship pacts with him

in order to get a bow.

And make these trades.

So, yeah, he's definitely someone

I am not taking my eye off out here.

We've got to get our sleep.

-Yeah. -Yeah.

We don't have any sort of boma or anything.

And I've seen rhino prints in here.

All kinds of prints.

So we should probably build at least two more fires.

We'll get a fire going here, probably.

You know, start working on this,

and then we'll be blocked off here.

I love to see the dwindling down, you know, where...

There's gonna be one winner

and everyone else is a loser.

And right now, Gary and I are the ones to beat.

All right, guys, there's some firewood over here.

Here's some tinder and stuff.

What's sad is is Gary has no idea

that Jeff's been playing him like a $2 bill right now.

Gary's taking everything Jeff says

hook, line and sinker, and Jeff's got

a whale on the hook.

Nighty-night.
