Hotel King

Hello, Ahjussi!

Episode 8

You worked hard.

If my dad came to pick me up, then he would have given you a gift.

It's a shame. When I come to Korea, I'll come by again.

Can I hug you this one time, Joon?

What about the General Manager?

Did you rest well?

Yes. The service was great.

It was an honor for me to serve you.

So I prepared a small gift.

Wow!

You know how strong he is, right?

Of course! Alone, he can protect Korea-

No, he can protect the entire world!

That's right.

Since a strong guy like him has become your friend,

don't be afraid of anything from now on.

Really?! Wow!

General Manager, you are the best hotelier in the world.

Thank you.

I agree as well.

General Manager, you are a good person.

Cha Jae Won,

it's okay.

It's okay.

Oh!

I've never seen his bed sheets all messy. What's going on today?

Did he have a guest?

I get a weird feeling every time I see this.

Where do you think the General Manager sleeps?

Eureka!

Oh! Oh my!

Finally... the hotel monster has started dating.

Oh, oh my! Oh my!

This isn't the end.

Don't be surprised... there's more evidence.

Oh my, oh my, oh my, then...

Oh my!

I'm not ready for this yet. You shouldn't do this...

Come here. - Oh, you really shouldn't do this...

The Sunshine Foundation's event that was scheduled for Sunday at 12 PM

was cancelled by our request due to Director Yoon's incident.

Other events will proceed as scheduled.

Also, for the Haemil Restaurant's opening, 30 VIP guests will be in attendance, all invited by the Madame herself.

The preparations are done.

Hold on.

This is my first time seeing you.

Two of our food & beverage staff members quit unexpectedly, so he's been newly hired.

Greet him. This is the General Manager.

Keep up the good work.

Did you hire him after looking into him?

His resume and work experience were all good, but he said he wanted to start from the bottom.

He's young, but I liked his way of thinking, so I hired him.

Why? Is there something that's bothering you?

No, but he uses an interesting cologne.

Since he's on the food & beverage team, tell him to refrain from using cologne.

Wow, your sense of smell is so... I had no idea.

Okay, I'll give him a warning.

Why does Grandma Hyang Sook think that the 24th day of each month is Christmas?

They came all the way from Seoul. They're guests of our hotel for over 30 years.

Before she got sick, she memorized all the names of the workers. She was such a warm person.

She still brings us snacks, though.

Thanks to her, it feels like Christmas once a month. I like it.

How am I supposed to interpret your outfit right now?

Hey, why do you keep doing that from behind?

Why do you keep hugging me from behind?

So did those two accept $1000 as tip?

It's not that they accepted it. They didn't know.

Ah, you're being too loud! Stop making noise, or leave. - You have spit...- Sorry.

You've done this before, haven't you? Doing special events and getting money in return?!

What are those guys saying right now?

Listen using your own earholes. If you say another word, I'm going to rip your mouth.

If I rip your mouth, it'll be painful, right?

Be honest. How much have you received until now?

What are you saying? This has never happened until now.

They always gave us snacks, so I didn't think differently this time...

Are you sure you guys are concierges?

What a douchebag! I will never ever understand you and you.

This is definitely something that you could misunderstand; however, it's not like that.

As concierges, we've never done anything to be ashamed of.

Why don't you...

say something in sign language again? You pretended to be all righteous, but is this who you really are?

What's going on?

They broke the rule that accepting tips from guests is forbidden.

I was chastising them for receiving money for holding a special event during work hours.

Team Leader, whom I respect and love, I would like to say one word.

It wasn't a special event. It was done out of service for a long-time guest who's suffering from dementia.

Are you in on this, as well?

No, I'm not.

They say if was out of service to our guests.

They accepted it unknowingly. They can just return it, and it can be the end of this. Why are you so serious about it?

You're so uptight!

It's all been resolved, so go back to your posts.

Chairwoman...

Chairwoman, how is this so easy for you?

Within a group, there are things called procedures and rules.

Fine, since I'm a cool chairwoman, I'll consider your comment.

Give me an explanation as to what problems remain even after Captain Go and Assistant Sun apologize and return the money.

They ruined the pride and reputation of a hotelier by accepting money to satisfy their own selfish greed.

As their superior, you've disappointingly denied to embrace them and to believe in them.

I didn't request permission from you in advance. Also, though it was unintended, having the money envelope in my hands...

They're all my fault.

I'll return it right way, and I'll take care of it.

Yes, we have done wrong.

Wait, why are you two apologizing?

General Manager, it's good that you came. Didn't you say you had to trust your own employees?

This uptight guy right here is messing with these nice workers because of a misunderstanding, and...

Team Leader Hong will take care of it.

Don't make things bigger. This is an order.

Now I know why a mere assistant has no fear.

I will keep my eye on you, Sun Woo Hyun.

I hate people like you the most.

I will ask you one thing.

Would you have been suspicious if something like this happened to an employee who studied abroad with you?

It seems like you're more sensitive to our mistakes.

As part of a general manager's duties, isn't there something like "saving the Chairwoman's face"?

Are you trying to make all the employees your enemies?

I know Sun Woo Hyun very well. He would never do that.

If you're truly concerned about Sun Woo Hyun, don't get involved in these kinds of matters.

The moment you favor one person over another,

that person can become an enemy of the other employees.

But why?

Because you are the Chairwoman.

At least for now.

Nobody thinks of me as the Chairwoman.

Neither the employees nor you.

If you want to be accepted, don't whine like a child and begin by gaining their trust.

Also, don't express or reveal any emotion.

What are you doing?

Are you crying out here for being scolded by your superior?

I was sorry about earlier,

There are so many things I shouldn't do.

When I was young, when I saw my dad walking around the hotel with his employees all lined up,

he looked way bigger then that mountain over there.

Even in my eyes, the Chairman was like a big mountain that you couldn't see in one glance.

I've been curious about this since a while ago...
