I can be ripped away

from my young daughter, who was born here,

without even getting to talk to her.

I won't judge my parents for entering this country

without legal documentation

because they were trying to give me a better life.

But I took the steps to do it the right away,

and those agents still didn't care.

They took one look at our Brown skin,

and that was the only status that mattered to them.
