Original subtitles

In Russia this evening, a secluded arms facility was the target of a violent and

deadly theft.

Military sources report several fatalities occurred during the attack,

but were reluctant to discuss what exactly was stolen from the facility.

It has long been rumored the site was host to the development and

experimentation of several chemical and biological weapons.

One of those weapons, sarin gas, could indeed be the worst threat currently

facing modern civilization.

The gas is colorless, odorless, and 26 times more deadly than cyanide.

A pinprick-sized droplet will kill a human being within hours.

Exposed to the open air, the vapor will spread quickly and easily, making its

lethal range far more expansive.

If such a device was stolen from the facility, it is without question that

any nation could again fall victim to events similar to those suffered on

September 11th.

Under the constant threat of terrorist activity, it is imperative that whatever

was stolen must be found and destroyed.

We live in a ruthless time, Mr. Dunn.

Totally different world.

Used to be just live your life to the best of your abilities.

Not anymore.

Well, it's an ongoing battle, Agent Rowe.

And personally, I'd rather spend less time discussing the problem and a little

more time trying to find a solution.

Exactly. But how?

Well, that's your territory.

Intelligence, scrutiny, and now it's your territory.

This process here that... you know, we're about to conduct this interviewing

process, is where I feel the solution to how we fight can be found.

The applicant's work history, his Social Security number is addressed.

Important? Yes.

But the questions that are most important, are you moral, are you

ethical, they're not going to be found on a resume.

Those answers come from scrutiny during the interview.

Yeah, well, I agree with your theory, Agent Rowe.

And I assure you, I am committed to finding the best man for this job.

I'm glad we agreed.

Let's get this show on the road.

Agent Brooks is here.

Send him in, please.

Morning, Agent Brooks.

Morning. This is Agent Donald Rowe from the FBI. He'll be sitting in with us

today.

Does that make you uncomfortable?

No, no, not at all. I just wasn't aware that this was standard procedure for the

interview. It's not.

We'll try not to take up too much of your time today.

We simply want to hear your answers to a few questions that we have.

Now, I know you've had a pretty hectic schedule since your return from... Where

was it?

Caribbean. Just a little relaxation.

We have spent most of the week weeding through resumes, trying to pick a few

that stood out.

Sitting in that chair was already a testament to...

how we feel about your requirements for this position.

I mean, four years as an inspection agent, four years in the field with

Customs Enforcement, outstanding achievement award three years in a row.

Well done.

Thank you.

And of course, two years in the Marines, which scores you a little extra credit

with me.

But where all that wonderful fanfare comes to a screeching halt is when this

shit lands in our lap.

This case is a disaster, Brooks.

And before it ever happens again, I'd like to get some answers as to how it

ever happened in the first place.

And more importantly, why you chose to make the decisions you did.

I understand.

I'll try to answer the questions as best I can.

According to what we've read here, I understand that all of this started as a

result of a tip you received.

That's right.

Well, so I guess my first question is, what made you think it was one of the

right ones?

Just a feeling.

Instinct.

Instinct told you to go with this.

Yet you decided not to share this information with HQ or any of the boys

in Washington.

I am missing something.

I feel like you're missing quite a bit, sir.

Well, look, just so we're not missing too much, why don't you tell us what

happened that morning?

The sequence of events.

The sequence of events?

With the whole truth and nothing but the truth, what... Take it easy, Agent

Brooks.

We just need to understand your side of all this.

You know, the shit that's not in these boxes.

Now, you don't want to share?

Then, please, go on your way.

I mean, let's not waste each other's time, okay?

Right, well, uh... As I said, I got the lead.

I went out to find my source.

His name is Ricky Sims.

I had a fairly good idea where I could find him.

Scared the fuck out of me.

Well, I wouldn't have it any other way, Ricky.

It looks like I'm not the only one after your ass, huh?

Lumberjack fucks.

I was playing stud at Cozy's, took him for three grand.

You think I cheated him? No.

You, Rick, you don't cheat, do you?

Come on, man.

Maybe they're on to something.

Maybe you've been cheating me a bit, too, huh?

Oh, come on, Alex. You know I didn't do that. You know, the Legion game was

complete crap. No one's lived in that building for two fucking years. You knew

that.

Look, man, I just go by what I hear. I'm not a fucking psychic.

I see what your friends think about that. For fuck's sake, Alex, look, I got

something big for you, okay? I swear, it's big.

Russian mob or some shit. Look, a big shipment's coming in tonight, okay? I

don't know what it is, but I know that it's big because they paid me huge

numbers to get it through.

Look, I swear, man, they paid me up front. Look, you ever see so much cash

in your life in my hands?

All right, what the hell is going on?

Okay, the other day I get approached by this Russian, right?

Long hair, ugly-ass motherfucker.

And he's hurting me.

Says he needs something big brought through border customs.

Okay, what?

I don't know. He wouldn't say, and I didn't ask, because when I saw the kind

of money that they were working with, I thought it was better if I didn't ask

questions. Okay, where's it going?

I don't know. Where do Russians hang out?

Hey!

Okay, all right.

We're going to Pearson's warehouse. We're going to meet this guy who's

flying in, and don't ask me who it is, because I don't know.

I told you everything.

Don't you fucking lie to me. I swear, Alex.

I swear, okay?

Consider it a makeup tip.

Because I know I owe you.

All right.

Can we get the fuck out of here?

Yeah, get out of here.

Sounds like a good tip. I think we should check it out. I haven't heard

anything. Where'd it come from?

Who's your source?

Oh, shit.

Ricky? From the docs?

Jesus Christ. Alex.

The guy's working you. Four bogus tips in six months?

You're not paying for that shit, are you?

When are you gonna learn how this fucking business works?

Jesus Christ, Bill. When are you gonna learn we're not in the 60s anymore?

Things need to change around here. I know, it's your show. You don't have me

telling you how to run it.

But as the volume of drug traffic increases around here, ethics are going

to be tested.

You know firsthand how good those offers can get.

Something too hard to turn down.

I'll try not to take offense to that.

I'm just making a point.

If we don't react to every tip, we're going to miss something, and we're all

going to hang for it.

Well, since you seem to have such a hard-on about this thing, go check it

out.

Meanwhile, I'll get us up to speed with all this paperwork here. Get ready for

the big test.

Thank you.

We do have an office of investigation.

I find it interesting that you neglected to contact anyone in the department.

Well, sir, I am aware that an investigation should be notified, but it

was still just another random lead.

I mean, come on. You worked in field enforcement, right?

Ten years in Miami.

Well, did you notify investigation on every tip?

No, I did not.

Sir, I try to be as perceptive and prepared as possible, but I also try not

to be too paranoid.

Fair enough.

I think I'm pretty clear on how all of this got started.

But we are far from the end, so let's pick up where we left off.

Your superior gives you the okay to do the follow-up, so then you what?

You get your team together?

Tell us about them, the team you've assembled over the years.

Well, I wasn't aware that my team was being interviewed.

They're not.

However, I am a firm believer that a chain is only as strong as its weakest

link.

Selection is something I take seriously, as you can see from today.

I'm curious about your selection. What kind of men do you surround yourself

with?

Good men, sir. I surround myself with good men.

Good men I can trust.

I don't care what...

Like new, must sell.

Up to six players. Too good for an arcade.

We're not getting a pinball machine.

You got Leon that stupid workout bench.

His workout bench is for everyone, Springbean. About time you started using

it. Hey, just keep doing your supersets there, Meat Locker.

Besides, you know, everybody loves pinball. No, you love pinball.

What did Barnes say, huh?

No tips legit till it passes my ears?

Well, you know that guy and his fucking ego.

He's just got his thumb on every dirty deal in town.

I don't know. Maybe when it was Mayberry, he did.

But he is not out in the field with us now. He has no idea what we see.

Did he give you the green light?

Yep. I just got to fill this shit out and we're okay.

Oh, girls, I hate to break up your little sweat party over there, but we

have a date.

We taking that tip from Ricky?

Is this a lightweight bout or a heavyweight one?

Well, you know my opinion. You step into the ring, expect to get hit.

It sounds like kind of a lighthearted bunch to me.

Look, I don't expect anyone to assemble a bunch of hardcore dogs of war, you

know, so I can respect a team that still cares for one another as friends and yet

gets the job done.

Do you feel that's the sort of team you've created?

Well, sir, I definitely care about my men, each and every one of them.

It's my responsibility when they suit up.

So when we are heading into a raid, if anyone's nervous, you're looking at

them.

You know, if this thing's for real, we can end up with our pictures in the

paper. Like those customs guys down in San Diego.

Popped over 200,000 hits of ecstasy.

Wound up on magazine covers, talk shows.

Overnight celebrities.

You know what? You don't shut up, string man. You're gonna find yourself in the

paper, all right?

Under obituaries. Yeah. Right next to your column for cross-dressing tips for

the oversized man.

Not today.

Hey!

Let's go.

Afternoon, gentlemen.

Sorry to shit on your picnic, but, uh, that's what I do.

Hey, no problem.

You are a welcome friend.

Who's in charge here?

Uh, we like to think we're all equal.

So you'll all do equal time if I find something wrong, is that right?

Hey, and there's nothing wrong here. You can take a search if you like.

Check out that drum.

All right, guys, cards down. Hands where I can see them.

You, you got some paperwork for me?

What is this fucking shakedown?

I got your goddamn paperwork.

Is that Russian?

It's Russian.

Are you Russian? I am Russian.

What's in here?

That's just wine.

You gonna find the same thing over here? Yeah.

It's wine.

Take some if you want.

It's party time.

It's fucking caviar.

Check out those other three.

It's a little tight. How do you get this thing off?

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Hang on, hang on, hang on.

Sanchez, is that you?

Leon, get him out of here!

All right, everybody calm down.

Whatever he found is coming with us. Let's just all relax.

I don't know how you guys caught on to this, pal.

You're in the wrong fucking place. Let's quit. Jay, you want to tell me what the

hell is going on here?

This is not the time for a briefing. How about a...

Jesus.

You all right, man?

Sanchez okay?

No.

Girl suits saves the day.

Miss me?

Like the summer rain.

Toss the gun.

I'm shocked, Agent Batalova, that you have the stamina to keep up with me.

I'm full of surprises.

Show me.

Nobody moves.

Gun down!

Stay out of my way.

Agent Amoshe, FBI.

I go nowhere without some in-off. Put your fucking gun down.

Well, my orders are to take him back to Russia.

She's a firecracker, isn't she?

Drop the fucking gun.

O'Shea, what the fuck is going on here?

Easy, pal.

I got him. I'm taking this guy in. Put your hands behind your head.

Now!

Back off. I said I'm taking him in. Stay out of my way.

Unpopular today.

Yeah, well, how about I contain this guy and you two can bitch about it in my

office?

Your team, outnumbered, successfully took down this mobster fellow's crew

with three casualties on your side.

Always a shame to see men die in the line of duty, but it was their ultimate

sacrifice that led to the capture of this Semyonov.

You know, you could have easily lost your entire group.

I guess your perception and preparation paid off, Brooks. Well done.

Thank you, sir.

However, now you've got yourself quite a stew cooking.

You have the woman, you have a Russian agent, you have a wanted mobster, and

you have my colleague, Agent O'Shea.

Somehow, your decision was to take them all back to customs?

Yes, sir. Assault on federal officers, smuggling, dangerous cargo, conspiracy

to defraud. I felt I had just cause.

Is it common practice for you to overstep your jurisdiction?

They were in Alaska, sir.

That is my jurisdiction.

Let's talk about the dangerous cargo, huh?

Uh, this guy that gave you the tip, he gave you no indication that these folks

were transporting a biological weapon?

No, sir. That was a surprise.

What is all of this shit?

Alex, come on, you can't do this to me, man.

You know those barrels you confiscated on the dock? They must be contaminated

or something.

And the Yukon is not set up to transport hazardous material. You know that.

Look at these suits.

I mean, these guys are not hauling dirty diapers. This is serious stuff. Well,

who signed off on this?

You did.

Major Brooks.

Major Steve Jensen, U.S. Marines.

Department of Defense assigned us this train.

Help us get to their airfield down in Racine.

They'll fly to D.C. from there. Whoa, whoa, whoa, Major, let's not get ahead

of ourselves. Why don't you tell me what the hell are in those barrels?

Something we've been after for several months, Agent Brooks, and we're very

happy that you found it.

I think we'll just leave it at that.

I'll do respect, Major, but, you know, I run these railways, and if you're smart,

you give me just a few days, I'll get a hazmat car in here.

I'll do it safe.

You just keep the train rolling.

We'll keep it safe.

I have my orders, gentlemen, and I never second-guess those orders.

We leave in one hour.

Alex, if you don't know anything about this, what's your name doing on it?

I think I have a pretty good idea.

I'll call you back.

What is this shit?

Settle down, Alex.

I got the paperwork on it. Some sort of classified Russian nerve gas, and I'm

not keeping it hanging around here one second longer than I have to.

This is fucked up, Bill.

We lost some good men today.

Some friends.

That's right, and I don't want to lose one more. I want that crap out of my

backyard. You want to tell me what the hell my name is doing on this, then?

Look, Alex, you got this tip. You made this big bust.

It's a big credit for you. This could be a promotion.

This might ensure you get my post.

Now, before the Red Square comes storming into my office...

Let's get your little Russian friends on their way, huh?

Agent Natalia Batalova.

It suggests here that she was motivated by a personal vendetta against, uh,

Semyonov. Well, at this point, we shared a mutual conviction to bring the suspect

to justice. What motivated it is completely irrelevant to me.

Personal vendettas are irrelevant?

Well, sir, part of my job is to bring criminals to justice and see that

they're punished for their crimes.

Sometimes it does get personal, but the end result is what matters.

So is, uh, is that all they have in there? That she was out for some kind of

vengeance? No, there's, uh, there's an explanation here from Russian

intelligence. Seems she had a legitimate reason.

Look.

I won't discuss this any longer. You will arrange for Semyonov and I to

return to Moscow immediately.

It's not gonna happen, lady.

You and your convict are on American soil.

Now, he's wanted in this country for countless acts of terrorism.

I didn't just chase his ass around the globe so that you could waltz out of

here with him.

He's gonna stay right here in this country, and he's going to trial.

Look, I won't bother comparing his rap sheet in Russia, but I assure you it's

much more impressive.

However...

In my country, he happens to be part of a trade negotiation.

He's the jackpot in an international poker game.

Don't play innocent, Agent O'Shea.

It's your country we're playing with.

We want him as much as you do.

You'd better have some good cards, sweetheart.

O'Shea. Customs, this is Rudy.

They found Ricky.

He's dead.

Who's that?

He's the guy that gave us the tip at the warehouse.

You see?

There's something screwy going on around here. I intend on getting to the bottom

of it.

OK. This is the plan.

We got a plane standing by ready to take us to Washington.

Semyonov, he comes with us.

Like hell he will.

He comes with me.

Agent Batalova, you don't want to start cooperating, I'm gonna lock you up right

now for interfering with a federal case.

You want to come with us? You want to take it up with DC?

Maybe they'll take your point of view.

You got it?

Maybe.

Under one condition.

You'd kill me.

He doesn't leave my sight.

Done.

I'm gonna need your cooperation when we land, too.

Testimonies on what exactly went down up here.

Same goes for you.

For me?

You bet your ass, Brooks.

You see, you're gonna explain how you blew a one-year-long undercover

operation. But you've got your canisters and you got the guy, so... I don't have

my buyer, though, do I?

Instead, I got some okie from the sticks who runs in on a tip from a dead

informant.

You are getting on that plane.

He's right. We need someone to clear up our side.

He'll go, O'Shea.

Get him ready for transport.

Parker, it's Alex Brooks. You up there?

Yeah, go ahead, Alex.

Hey, I need a clean road ahead. I got some high-profile cargo coming through.

Fun to see you back.

Not a problem, old friend.

I'm your eye in the sky.

So where are those barrels?

Ah, you know about those, do you?

Yeah, of course I know about those.

Russian army has been looking for them for several months.

He stole them.

His plan didn't go so well.

Did a general.

Well, don't you worry about it.

Our defense department's got it under control.

Uh-oh, that's comforting.

The apocalypse and a cannon in the hands of your defense department.

That's good.

You still worried about this guy?

He's still a threat to you?

Not unless he's Houdini, okay?

You know you should have done your homework.

He escaped from a maximum security prison with 33 convicts.

He orchestrated the whole thing.

A handful survived.

They still serve him to the day.

He'd do whatever it takes.

Yes, I definitely think he's still a threat.

You flatter me too much.

What a dick yeah, okay folks we're ready for departure let's buckle in

So the barrels are off on a little train that could, and you're up in the wild

blue yonder.

Now, I have to say, I'm still a little confused as to why you got on that

plane.

Now, I understand you were following orders, but as far as telling your side

of the story, for God's sake, get a lawyer and a good fax machine and stay

home.

There are a dozen phone calls you could have made.

Someone from D.C. could have assisted you.

Sir, if there is an opportunity that I missed, then I will take full

responsibility.

But I never had a chance.

Am I on trial here?

Because if I am, then maybe I should just shut the fuck up and give you the

rest of the story on transcript.

Is that what you want? Look, Agent Brooks, before you came in here, Agent

Rowe and I had a discussion.

We agreed on one specific qualification that we would hold high above any

others, and that's conduct.

We have a terribly important task in front of us where others have failed.

We need to be damn sure of who we're putting in charge of customs up here.

Basically, Brooks, we'd like to hear the details of how you got from being on

that plane to this.

Fine. That's fine.

No more interruptions?

Let's hear it.

Setting course Delta 49er 39er. Over.

Roger that, Captain. Have a safe flight.

It's beautiful, isn't it?

It's the Racine Forest.

See those tracks down there?

I practically grew up on those.

My father was a diesel engineer, so... What about you? You grew up in Russia?

No.

Parents?

Yes, I have parents.

That's a story I would like to hear.

It's boring, General.

compared to what's going to happen to you.

Sit, Nick.

Sit, Nick.

Let's go. Come on.

Here. Hey.

Take flight, Motherfly.

Damn it, that sucked.

Jesus.

Well, that is some kind of Russian miracle you pulled out of your ass.

Very funny.

Let's find out where we are.

The gas.

Where is it?

It's on a train.

That's where he'll go.

He needs those barrels. Yeah, well, what do you want me to do about it? I don't

expect you to do anything, but I have a job to do.

Which way to the train?

Look, there's a house not half a mile from here.

The train is 8, 10, maybe 15 miles.

I've seen men die in better conditions than this. There's no way in hell that

you're gonna make it.

Okay. Thank you.

Da, General.

We are on the ground en route to base camp and I want you to do me a favor.

Make sure no one survived that crash.

These interruptions are wrecking my day.

Roger that, comrade.

March.

A few more miles.

We gotta keep moving to stay warm.

When nightfall comes, we're gonna lose a good 20, 30 degrees.

I'd rather not think about that.

So that's how you do it, huh?

Just deny the pain.

Whatever it takes to catch this guy, you'll do it, huh?

You know what?

I'm no longer worried about the cold.

Your conversations are gonna kill me.

Thank you.

What kind of place is this?

Looks like an abandoned shelter of some kind.

I don't think it's been used in a while, though.

As long as it keeps us warm.

I'll go get us some firewood.

And you can't keep a bad man up in an FBI plane.

Well then, despite these minor setbacks, we still have a client waiting, and that

is not good for business.

So let's finish this deal.

Our barrels left, you know, about eight hours ago, which puts us right about

there.

Gentlemen, we have a train to catch.

New reports indicate the plane lost control an hour into its flight. This is

crazy.

What's the leaks?

They're saying they got a distress signal 45 minutes into the flight.

There wasn't a malfunction on the plane. Something happened in the cabin.

Are there any survivors?

They're keeping a lid on everything.

There's no word of casualties or survivors.

Well, if the fire doesn't keep us warm, this certainly should.

What? We need to dry our clothes.

You're a muse at my work ethic, aren't you?

Yeah.

Yeah, I am, actually.

No, not that.

The fact that he's still out there making progress while we're sitting

here.

The fact that I'd rather die than fail.

Well, then amused really isn't the right word.

Confused is more like it.

I guess that's just something I don't understand.

I'm trying to understand your bracelet.

What's to understand?

Well, Alex, it says Peter on it.

It was my father's. He was killed a few years ago in a train accident.

What happened?

Well...

The customs department was building an airfield.

Dad was running supplies back and forth.

Bill Barnes was heading up the operation.

He used to work everybody overtime to finish ahead of schedule, make himself

look good.

One night, Dad fell asleep at the controls, train derailed. It's as simple

as that.

And it's quite ironic, actually, because about a year later, they shut down the

airport.

The only use it gets now is the occasional bust of illegal flights

coming in and out of Juneau, courtesy of an airfield that we built.

You know, we're not going to make it tonight barefoot.

It's 20 below zero.

I don't know.

Well, if you go out now, you will fail and die.

Maybe. Or maybe you're just trying to stall me.

Look, if I was a sharp agent, I would have noticed how you've appeared to

remove everything from your body but your bracelet.

Obviously, there's nothing threatening concealed under the blanket.

Well, define threatening.

But you left your bracelet on.

What is it?

Some kind of a tracking device or bug?

How did Semyonov's men get on the plane? What are you suggesting?

After everything that I did to help you out, you have the audacity to... Your

help has also allowed you to stay right by my side. Are you out of your mind? I

saved your ass out there.

Oh, please.

Everyone's for sale.

Really?

Well, I guess that includes you too, then, doesn't it?

Maybe you're after the drums.

You said it yourself, they're worth a lot.

I hope you track them down, you take me out, and then you walk away with the

prize. Does that sound about right?

I have nothing to hide.

You know, I could jump through a fiery hoop as well.

Hmm.

That could be interesting.

You're lucky. I'm convinced, too.

Good.

I'm glad I could help.

I don't give a shit.

Tell me you found her frozen body.

There were some footprints.

No one could survive out here at night, General. No one.

She can.

Okay? Find her. I want her dead.

Understand? Dead!

Are you just playing with that when you're nervous, or is that some kind of

a therapy thing?

The bracelet, you mean.

I think it just sort of steers me around a bit.

That works?

Most of the time, yeah.

You know...

Semyonov bombed a federal building.

With my child in it.

He made me lose my son.

He was only three years old.

His end will come when he's under arrest in Moscow.

I'll pack it back and I head up to Nassau.

The one in Houston or the one in the Bahamas?

The one with the most amazing turquoise waters.

Fight darkness with beauty, right?

And that works.

I know soon enough.

Jensen, what's up?

Schedule time, Major.

Five minutes time.

Five minutes, boys.

Take the roof.

Hey, Turner, we're up.

I'll cover the hazmat car. Take this one. You got it.

Look, she's been here.

So, are they there?

No, we missed them.

Well, burn it.

Hello?

What's happening?

We need a truck.

Don't make me come up there.

What the...

Alright, the railway is further south, so we gotta go right.

Jesus!

As soon as we pass the hill, you wanna go left, just a bit.

There's a creek coming up here. As soon as we pass the creek...

Drive.

We're not going to do this all day.

You took the wheel. I figured you had a plan.

I don't know these mountains. Oh, and that's my fault.

A snowstorm is hitting the higher elevations right now. All highways and

roadsides have been shut down until crews can tackle the daunting task of

clearing a safe pathway for drivers.

Dispatch, we're going to start diverting traffic southeast by passing snow and

ice. We still have a few cars up there. We're just going to let them play

through. Copy. Copy that.

Three cars, all cargo.

That's already been switched.

Turner.

Base unit, we are under attack. I repeat, we are under attack!

Stop

this

train!

Shut it down!

There it is Semyonov was ahead of us. You can bet he's on that train. We gotta

get on board What a train that doesn't stop.

How are we gonna do that?

Ever done this before?

Yeah, all the time, growing up.

Just like jumping in a swimming pool.

Really? The fuck would I do something like this for? Of course not.

You with me?

pressure.

You've got to be kidding me. What is that?

Yukon Express, come in.

Come in, Yukon.

You're getting a weird light show up on your voice.

What's going on?

Bill, you still there?

Are they still operational?

I'll say. Look at that speed.

It's rising fast.

Come on, you're gone. Come in.

Look, it's Twin Hammer Summit, maybe. It's just bad reception.

Let's get a chopper on right away.

Right away?

Charlie, I need you to do an aisle check, track 14, just east of Twin

Hammers. Tell me what you see.

Copy?

Copy that, Lula.

Shit. You fuck.

Miranoff, the barrels, are they safe?

They're safe.

What happened to you?

He can snack on their faces again.

All that time spent helping you blend in.

Shot to hell.

All right, we gotta make our way to the engine and slow this thing down.

Gotta get him.

How long are you gonna play hide-and-seek with this motherfucker?

I got a good idea what these barrels will do if this thing derails.

Are you with me?

Are you with me?

Okay.

We have to slow down.

You think?

Okay, let me... Look at this!

Shit.

Get out.

This is Alex Brooks, U.S. Customs Department.

Is anyone there?

Alex? Uh-huh. This is Fred.

Hey, kid, what the hell is going on out there?

Fred, we got a hijacked situation here. I don't know how many, but they're

armed, and it doesn't look like we're slowing down anytime soon.

Just sit tight. I got a chopper on the way. We'll get you out of there.

Have you spoken to my office in Juneau?

Not yet.

Well, Fred, there's a guy on board, and he wants the barrels pretty bad.

Roger that.

Now's your opportunity to say I told you so.

I will.

As soon as you and that cargo are safe, my friend.

I think I got an idea how to get us out of this.

Well, that's the best news I've heard all day.

Mr. Jeffries, Colonel Bennett, DOD. I'm here to take charge of the situation.

The hell you are. That's my train.

But it's not your cargo.

You want to be the one responsible for wiping out Racine and half of Western

Canada?

I didn't think so.

What's the status?

You got a runaway train.

Where are they at now?

They're right there.

Twin Hammers.

They're headed straight for 60 miles of unbroken descent. They're coming right

in our front door. And there's nothing we can do about it.

We've scrambled fighters from the north.

Fighters? Yes, sir.

Pull up visual contact in eight minutes.

Come in, Yukon Express.

You there, Brooks?

Look,

we gotta talk to these guys. They're our only hope of getting out of this thing

alive.

Just a note, Agent Brooks.

Others are given by the man holding the gun.

There's no way off of this train.

We jump at the speed, we die.

We stay aboard, we crash. And if those drums rupture, thousands of people are

going to die along with us. You got it?

You're forgetting something.

First, I don't give a shit about you or the faceless trash of Alaska.

Second,

those barrels are worth over 22 million dollars to me. And I intend to collect

just as surely as I intend to get off this fucking train.

I can slow this thing down.

But I need their help to do it.

Come in, you can't express.

You there, Brooks?

Use your brain, General.

You can't win.

Can't express. Come in.

Go ahead.

Pull the trigger.

It'll be quicker and a hell of a lot more pleasant than what's coming your

way.

Go ahead, Fred. I'm here.

What's your situation?

I've seen better days.

Trying to figure out a way to stop the train.

How much time do we have?

Agent Brooks, Colonel Bennett, Department of Defense. Look, I'm going

to give it to you straight.

We've got fighters in the air and they're on the way.

We've only got one alternative, and that is to derail this train immediately. We

must keep you clear of densely populated areas. You got me?

How far are we from the town of Chasm?

Five minutes.

Okay, listen to me.

There's a switch at Casa.

Route us through Heaven's Peak.

The incline will slow us down a bit. Have the plane start an avalanche. Take

out the train and smother those barrels.

Sounds doable.

What about you?

I'm working on that one.

You need to get in touch with your people. Have them reroute the train

immediately. And then, get the hell out of the area.

We've got an avalanche coming.

Let's head to the back of the train. When it slows down, we're going to have

to jump.

Good. Although a few of us will be staying behind.

Good call with the avalanche.

I never would have thought of that.

You should know by now, Natalia, I always find a way to win.

Soon the race will be on to recover these little troublemakers.

Fortunately, they will be with me.

However, their desperate search won't be a total loss unless

they're unable to ID your tangled remains.

They just switched tracks. Speed should stabilize. We're moments away, Colonel.

Strike leader, which position?

We're in position now, Colonel. Away to your command.

Copy that.

Anything from Brooks.

Set neck.

Set door.

Fighting!

I'll kill him. I'll fucking kill him!

You got fucked, my friend!

They're in the pass.

Strike leader, permission granted, open fire.

Forget this piece of shit! We gotta go now!

Can't kill me, girl.

That is not how the game works.

You need me alive, remember?

You need me alive.

That sounds like a big finish, babushka.

You're gonna die for me?

You're gonna die for me, huh?

No.

You will die for me.

Just a sec.

This is Rudy.

Rudy, it's Alex.

Jesus Christ, man, we thought you were dead.

Yeah, so did I.

Listen, I need your help.

Where's Barnes?

Barnes is gone.

After the crash, he got real torn up. He's devastated.

I'm sure.

We got an emergency. I need your help, all right?

As the volume of drug traffic increases around here, ethics are gonna be tested.

I'll try not to take offense to that. You know first hand how good those

offers can get. This might ensure you get my post. Without some good men

today, I don't want to lose one more. I know it's your show. I want that crap

out of my backyard.

Relax, you've had plenty of fuck-ups today.

What's one more?

Okay, let's go

Thank you.

Lots of blood in this story.

Lots of blood.

Including your own.

I was lucky.

The barrels I see were confiscated from the Korean plane by your enforcement

team and shipped safely over D.C.

FBI recovered three mobster popsicles, the cannibal, the ugly sidekick, and our

friend Anton Semyonov.

Gone for good.

I see your fellow agents here, Rudy and Leon, are making the talk show circuit.

Overnight celebrities.

Well, it is a pretty amazing story, Agent Brooks.

In retrospect, I wished Internal Affairs would have responded much earlier to the

behavior of Bill Barnes, and I am sorry.

It's an oversight we won't make again.

Well, I've taken up enough of your time. Hope I was able to clear things up for

you. Thank you.

Agent Brooks.

Agent Brooks, just one more thing.

I'd like to share the information on the folks you're up against.

We examined the credentials of several candidates for this position.

As you can imagine, with the sudden turn the world has taken with regards to

safety, all of us have to take a harder look at who we hire and allow to oversee

the pathways into this country.

Someone who won't crack under pressure and won't succumb to the abundant

temptations.

So, if you'd be willing...

We'd love to have you take over in the position left by Barnes.

It would be an honor, sir.

I'm glad to hear it.

We have work of our own to do for the next few days.

You'll need to report to work next week, if that's not too soon.

Maybe you can get back to the Caribbean for a few days, huh?

I think I'll do that, sir.

Gentlemen.

Oh, Brooks.

What happened to that Russian agent, that woman?

She just, uh, disappeared.

Hey, you leaving us?

No, no, no, no. Just, uh, vacation.

They want this thing to heal or something.

Shit, I need some of that healing time.

Maybe I'll have someone shoot me in the shoulder.

Then, uh, survive a plane crash.

Jump from speeding train.

You're a goddamn superhero.

Fight darkness with beauty, right?
