Original subtitles

My name is Michael Jordan.

I play professional basketball for the Chicago Bulls.

Thirty-two seconds to go.

I want Point Lee for Georgetown.

The one.

The time.

Eighteen.

Shot.

Jordan.

Michael Jordan.

I'm proud to trace my evolution.

And the Michael Jordan evolution, they always have to start back in college,

hitting the shot against Georgetown in 1982.

And I really didn't know exactly what I was doing.

Mark Carolina has won the 1982 NCAA Championship.

He'd awaken a person inside of me to excel, to compete

to excel, to be one of the best, to be the best.

That joke.

And I guess with that shot, it kind of ignited a fire inside of me.

Nothing was going to stop him.

What a good day, Jordan.

Jordan down a bit all along.

Jordan down a bit all along.

Jordan down a bit.

And Jordan down the lead all the way.

That is going to never bite Jordan.

It has him on the brain.

He drives it all the way.

Oh, God!

Oh, my label's on the wall.

He's part of it and it does.

You're about to meet somebody, every kid, on

every playground in America is talking about.

He is one of the greatest players ever, is indisputable.

Here's a couple... and Michael... Air!

Sorry!

Initially it was great.

I mean, who wouldn't want to be in commercials or want to

see if the posters or your billboards are all over the place.

I'm just a country boy from North Carolina

and to be on television and do these things.

We're great.

Look at the hair.

Look at the hair.

Look at the flying motion.

No buying a wheel to cover my main man, Michael Jordan.

Oh!

No.

He's fighting.

Michael Jordan!

Michael Jordan!

Michael Jordan!

What did you expect?

You got my friend?

It's just one of those freak situations I guess.

It has a lot to do with timing and a lot to do with personality.

Still time to grab a burger?

I don't know.

And I don't know what continues to keep it going.

The advanced man comes into Jordan.

Here's Michael at the file line.

It's shot on eagle.

No There's a lot of criticism on Jordan.

Can't do all that's going and yet they still win.

And that was enough to get me to this point where I had to take this team or be

a leader to this team to get to a championship.

This is what you live for.

The play might enjoy another final.

You're very too easy.

Oh, I'm stuck after all.

But I'm not sure what the polls are going.

But I'm not sure what the polls are going.

I'm not sure what the polls are going.

But I'm not sure what the polls are going.

You know,

I was going to basically get to this point where I wanted to be.

And it took a while, but, well, a while is eight years ago.

I got to this point.

And now it's a matter of staying on top.

And that's what I have to do.

And the 25 years, the great basketball fans of

Chicago have been rewarded by a great basketball team.

The 1991 NBA World Champion Chicago Games.

As a member of this team and an organization to see the Chicago for seven

years, it brings me a great joy to say we are the World Champion.

Thank you.

It's like the gowns on the king of the hill situation.

Once you're on top of the hill, you want to defend it.

We played that season.

We played last season.

As though, no matter what we encountered, we

were still going to finish the season on top.

Oh my God!

Yeah!

What a way to start the season.

As I was growing up, when we was playing against the Celtics, the Celtics would

come in and, you know, they knew it was going

to be just no matter how we start the game.

They just knew we were going to fold and they wouldn't come back and beat us.

You know, Kevin McHale would, you know, would talk

more trash than anybody's ever seen in Bird as well.

But they knew it was going to win.

And I think we had this humanity.

Jordan, a running conversation with Stacy Hartman hits me.

When you trash talk, that's a game.

It's a game of, um, cycling now.

You're talking to Michael right now.

You love to say it.

He hit the saddle and then he tells you about it.

Jordan starts chatting with each other.

They try to take it as a winning competition to me,

which totally takes away from that team concept.

The one thing that you play against Michael Jordan, you not only have to stand

up to him physically, you have to stand up

to him mentally because he will torment you.

I know how to play the game.

I don't think they know how to play the game when I'm talking to him.

He looks to something to get him in this kind of frame of mind.

This life in your face.

See, he looks for an end.

He wants starts to come back at you.

No matter what trash you talk, we can talk

the most trash and we're going to back it up.

Watch Jordan.

I think he's talking to Matumbo.

I told him I was going to shoot this with my eyes closed.

Ah, you don't do it.

But he never known that I've been to support.

As you know, I closed my eyes and shot at the maters.

And I told him nothing to be in the day.

He moved on.

This point, it has been strictly a celebration.

Of the Chicago Bulls.

It shocked me.

I mean, I thought it was a joke.

I thought it was just kicking around.

It was just playing with me.

And I said, you serious?

I said, yep.

Irvine is going to retire today.

I said, yeah, you kidding.

And Irvine is going to retire from white.

Because of the HIV virus that I have attained, I will have to retire from the Lakers.

Today.

Yo, he now is establishing a great relationship

after the first three or four rocky years.

I just want to say that I'm a missed plane.

I didn't really get the opportunity to play basketball

against him like I wanted to because he was my driving force.

You know, he'd imagine Johnson was here.

He didn't like it.

He was here.

I was still here.

And for me to get here, I had to beat these guys.

And I felt I was being cheated.

He was getting away from the game when I needed him the most.

I made sure that I called Larry, Mike Wiseira, the guys who were out close with.

I don't know what to say, but I'm with you.

I love you.

I want you.

What's best for you?

And I'm willing to follow your footsteps.

What should I do tell me?

It doesn't matter who you are, but what you do.

Age is everybody's problem.

Magic has given all of us a great responsibility.

Let's not let him down.

Get the facts.

Now that magic's retired, you're kind of the ambassador of the NBA now.

Is it a lot of pressure on you these days?

You start to think about different things that could happen to you that...

Hey, you may have to call a press conference and, you know...

It's some point in time and explain yourself.

Back here at home, everybody's buzzing about the

soon-to-be-release book on the Bulls, The Jordan Rules.

The book, Jordan Rules, will be released soon, and

some of his passages have already created a third.

A fourth coming book on the championship season of lives.

Your point craze a selfish, Jordan, who told his teammates not to pass the

ball into Centerville's Cartline late in the game.

I think everybody saw what was in the paper today,

but somebody said never believed in the papers.

And in fact, the legend's Jordan was kind

of the tough guy with some of his teammates.

Jordan denies the books accounts.

If I'm gonna be knocked off this pedal or make sure

I do something, I do something to be knocked off.

I'm not gonna let someone else knock me off for

no apparent reason or comments that I didn't say.

Players giving out sensitive information to the press

is one surefire way to cause a division within the team.

It figures to be a bumpy ride as the Bulls try to defend their NBA championship.

We never talked about it.

We knew the truth of this team and what relationships we had on this team.

No matter what the book illustrated, if anything it brought us closer together

to keep what happens between these 12 players or 15 people

within us instead of letting people get inside that circle.

So it bonded us and we focused more on playing basketball.

What time is it?

3-1!

Michael, how do you guys out?

Spin move.

Nice pass and sack.

Michael, cross-court.

No!

It's on a bullet pass.

Coming close again.

Michael, pass pass.

He hasn't dropped it back.

He dropped it back.

Just got it.

That's the nail, baby.

That's the nail.

Michael, you know, he really took matters in his

own hands right there to stretch out the game.

Remember, Kyle, Steve, Josh, and the in-box pass and he's there with his nail.

On the run.

Scott, Paxton, Pittman, and Scott.

Those are going to get the win for the game.

Whenever, uh, it sounds like it might be the

take-over game, you know, he takes it over.

Michael, I have to read about King David.

Hit him!

Hit him!

Hit him!

He's over!

I'm saying it's close to the game.

Michael was there.

1-1!

1-1!

Michael, Scott!

Go!

What really happened with this team was we accepted a challenge.

And I think that was a part of the maturity of this team.

But before Michael Jordan, uh, the complexity of my life has changed.

I mean, I worked for so many years to get to a point

where I like to think that I'm one of the best.

And now, everything, every move, every shot, everything is in the spotlights.

And you're, you're a target man.

I'm a target man.

We've all heard about the rewards of being you.

How hard is it to be?

Into Michael!

Rolling one hand!

Oh, yes!

Oh, cool!

I really don't like it when you're just really feelin' it.

It was just a little bit more.

It was just a little bit more.

It was just a little bit more.

It was just a little bit more.

It was just a little bit more.

It was just a little bit more.

Oh, my gosh!

Oh, my gosh!

Mike, you're like, you're like, Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike.

Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike.

Jordan, a lot of fakes in the scoop shaft and two.

One, two, one.

It's pretty hard to make a little bit more.

Just like that.

Thank you.

But, I'm following your... Your... Right, good, good.

Right, Mike.

Once again, he's the man Michael Jordan today

named Sports Illustrated Man of the Year.

And as I celebrated their selection with a special hologram cover, you can have

Michael's head rotating on your coffee table.

It's amazing.

You're gonna tell people to talk about you in a positive way.

It's great to hear those comments.

My first five, six years, I really enjoyed it.

It was something to be happy about.

But, I'm at a stage in my career and my life.

I wouldn't mind if people passed me by and don't say a word.

That wouldn't bother me in one bit.

The Chicago Bulls win their 13th game in a row.

I put Chicago at 36 and 5.

The best first half record in NBA history.

The Red Hot Chicago Bulls on pace to become the winningest team in NBA history.

And now the focus for the regular season clearly becomes

beating the Lakers 20-year-old record of 69 wins in a season.

We basically just been saying, hey, let's collect the wins, just keep it going.

And that's what we're gonna do from the unit.

You know, we get 70 wins this way.

Great.

You guys can leave us alone from the nation.

And the media was making such a big hype out of it

that it was tough to think about anything but 70 wins.

Bulls are now ready to embark on their last long road trip of the season.

When the Bulls return, we have a pretty good idea if the Bulls have a legitimate

shot at the Lakers record for victories in one season.

Here at the Spurs have the end of the Chicago winning streak.

And the Rockets have won the game.

Chicago loses a second straight game in Texas.

Right now Chicago is in disarray.

The Bulls on for winning 70 are starting to slip away.

Chicago Bulls locking up in a game to remember with the Utah Jazz.

Tight went all the way.

There's Jordan.

They got it.

So there's the Bulls.

He missed it.

They got it all the time.

One over time.

Then two.

Six.

Five.

Jordan.

Jordan.

Jordan.

Jordan.

Jordan.

Jordan.

I lost it.

I totally lost it.

I was in a rage.

You should have seen a lot of kicks, chairs, and I broke the blackboard.

I mean, this is the first time that I've ever lost it in a competition.

Well, it seems Michael Jordan isn't perfect after all.

The NBA's marquee name was suspended for

tonight's game and fined $5,000 by the league.

Jordan didn't appeal the penalties and left it

saying he'll see you in Orlando and all-star weekend.

There has been plenty of magic here in Orlando.

Magic Johnson, that is.

Three months ago he announced his retirement from the NBA.

But he was voted by the fans as one of the

starting guards for the Western Conference stars.

I respect him so much, Jordan.

I'm happy to get the opportunity to spend time with him again.

And I felt they've forgotten.

This is his opportunity to come back and shine.

I just want to be behind the scenes and let him stand forward.

Let him stand in front of the camera.

Now it's Jordan against Magic.

The crowd out of his feet.

I just want him to get the enjoyment of being

back and playing against amongst the guys.

Michael said, you're not getting it.

Yes he is.

Oh my dear, great.

You're delivered on cue.

Three straight trades for Johnson at the end of the game.

Three, four.

Yes!

Oh my!

Good job on you.

Just can't orchestrate it better than that.

It was great timing.

I was like, God, okay.

You had enough beating.

Now he was something positive for you to follow.

And then, as you know, David, you carried me for a while.

Go, Jordan!

Beat it!

One A play!

One A play!

After the All-Star break, it was pretty

obvious that we weren't going to win 70 games.

And for the team, things pretty much get back to me.

So what was it back to there?

One A play!

But for me, it wasn't going to be that easy.

Well, it appears to air is human.

Even when that human in question is Michael Jordan.

The NBA has investigated reports concerning Jordan's alleged gambling on golf.

No one likes to be susceptible to that circumstance

where people out of the blue give criticism towards you.

And say, look at him, look at this guy.

We thought he was perfect again.

You know, he's made a mistake.

No one's perfect.

Even Michael Jordan.

You know, I think that the lesson that comes from this is

that when you make a mistake, you understand, accept it.

You'll move on.

That was one of the things that happened to me through a very trying year of my career.

But as I said with any adversity, if I can accept, you know, good things

that happen to me, I can certainly deal with the bad and move straight forward.

The conclusion of that investigation, the league will

take no disciplinary action against Michael Jordan.

He met with Commissioner David Stern and several other league officials.

And following the meeting in New York, Mike and company

laced him up and met the New York Knicks at the Garden.

You know, if I have any problems away from basketball, when I play basketball,

I'm out there playing back at a solution for that.

You know, so it's like my psychologist or whatever.

And if you ever take that away from me, I wouldn't lose you.

You know, there's Michael Stern.

That's their plan.

Michael Jordan had his best, his first few people on this planet that can do this.

How does he do that?

How does he do that?

How does he know?

Jordan, oh, five star play.

Create to me by Nathan Michael.

Jordan is suspended in air.

That's beautiful.

The red thing.

Every day, he looks so good.

And that's what it did.

One job, airman.

You know, it just let us know that, hey, I'm feeling it.

I'm feeling good.

It's my game.

I love it.

I love it.

Six straight scoring titles, three MVPs.

You are simply the standard by which basketball excellence is measured.

The NBA regular season ended with everyone trying to catch up to the Bulls.

Now, as Chicago gets ready to defend their title,

I caught up with Michael Jordan to talk about it.

Almost dead.

Yeah, great hands.

You don't be back in 65 yards, man.

We can mark it off.

You ready, Jordan?

Easy.

That's with a sore wrist, man.

You ought to see our football games.

I was running a football game.

Jordan, in the bushes like this, we were running a game.

Talking about, I didn't think you were lifting their hearts.

Knock me out.

They're not doing it in France.

They're throwing blocks.

I don't know.

In the book I read about you, you said when you were a baseball player,

he really said that you threw three no hitters.

I did.

We didn't find that out.

I don't know.

I think they asked my father there.

He kind of lied.

But that's okay.

He's in the book.

It's a record now.

My people's person, even though that's getting a little

stretch now, because I want my power to see a little bit more.

But I try to be as normal as possible.

The person that you see is me, I think.

We don't like it.

You're going to move?

I ain't going to move for a long time.

Why don't you move next, Jordan?

Yeah, we do.

Yeah.

Hey, come on!

Hey, baby!

Don't you got no balls!

Chicago Stadium, the site tonight as the

Bulls begin defense of their NBA championship.

Hey, baby!

Hey, baby!

Hey, baby!

Hey, baby!

Hey, baby!

Hey, baby!

This is the biggest focus of the season.

It's the playoffs.

Hey, baby!

Hey, baby!

Hey, baby!

Hey, baby!

I thought, I love it.

This is Jordan.

He's stuck in front of that camera.

You know, me as a people are watching.

They show the skills and creativity that you have as an athlete.

Showtime.

I started getting going, man.

It's like you feel it correctly.

Yes.

Jordan's trying to get it now.

It's a good deal.

He pushes it up himself.

Private, go down the lane.

Hang.

Let's go.

I'm only going to jump.

I'm not going to jump.

I'm not going to jump on him.

Michael.

He smiled.

He's playing right.

He told him I'm just going to take you to school.

We knew it was going to win.

It's just a matter of how we were going to win.

So we kind of toured with him.

He watched it.

He watched it.

She's the double team coming and just goes to the group.

We were more talkative, more playful, more entertaining with him.

We needed other team that we faced.

But when it came down to where we had to put these guys away and move on,

you know, we did it.

At worst, try to get Jordan back to the way and get it right back.

He's got Livingston in his right horse brand as well.

Goes inside.

Oh, where's the Jordan Classic Michael Jordan's at?

The Chicago Bulls have defeated the Miami Heat in three straight games.

Yeah, I was a little very nervous.

Which, you know, very rare that I get nervous in any circumstance.

I knew I was against the person that was totally out of my league.

It's been a lot of things written about it.

And I just went to find out for myself.

He came to me about doing jam.

And I told him it was a touch of time because it was a playoffs.

And he said that basically he can work around my schedule.

Here we go, Andrew.

Roll please!

I'm gonna get this scene later.

I'm gonna get it.

For the day I get it.

He talked about a guy.

A guy admired ever since he was a child up to this point.

You can see that when he's in front of the camera and his music is playing,

it's like...

When I'm in front of the camera, I'm playing basketball.

Everything else is irrelevant.

Michael,

why do you know what's false?

Oh, I don't know.

You look like you're gonna see... Oh, big hands.

We just came off a very convincing series against Miami.

We thought we could walk right through New York.

Yes, sir.

Only just came over and annihilated.

We're showing tenacious demons.

Three.

Two.

One.

That's a violation.

It'll be the next ball.

We anticipated them playing a certain way, and they came out totally different.

Physical.

Hungry.

Chicago is a confident cocky team.

They've sort of breezed through the league all season.

They breezed through the first round of the playoffs.

And right now, they're being challenged.

Big jam by Ewing.

They are stunned to hear in Chicago's stadium.

It shocked us the first game in our place, which was very embarrassing to us.

And this team is for real.

If anybody took them for granted, you know, certainly

we realized that they're a team to deal with.

If New York has an advantage, it's a feeling that

you can muscle Chicago inside of a dandelion.

And dealing with a dandelion.

This is a big, visible, wide New York team that plays in top.

It takes its toll on you.

We're going with the bad pass.

Wilkins follows Jordan.

Look at that.

It's your final ball.

What a great effort by Michael Jordan.

Five-thousand for Jordan off the screen.

Makes the move.

Comes back.

Get the money.

Well done.

We never got to suffer for the world.

We never got to suffer for the world.

We never got to suffer for the world.

They've we seen to have control through the series.

We never really did.

They kept coming and taking it back.

Johnpot, that's the 3.

You're playing with the steel.

That's the 3-yard.

Can I see my third player?

Give it a second.

Give it a second.

Because the balls out of the world champion we post them

just late on and just let them do whatever they want.

Hey, this is the game.

This is the main game.

And final game.

No, they're fighting like cats and dogs.

We just fell apart.

You think you're going home just like we have a choice?

Can you recover?

We don't have a choice.

Some predicted a sweet, most of five-game series, but be honest now.

Nobody thought it would go seven.

If we see a New York victory today, this might well rank

as one of the biggest upset in the history of the NBA.

Now, the New York series was one of those following the advice type of series.

So I kind of asked him, what should I do?

How should I attack?

Should I feed off my teammates?

Or should I go out and be the leader and let them fall in my league?

And like most fathers, I mean, he should take the lead.

If they don't follow you, they don't follow you, but you have to take the lead.

Right, right.

They're how hard I don't feel here.

It's a flagrant fall again.

And now, McDaniel wants to face a pepper.

I was ready to go bros with it.

Both clubs going at each other.

Michael Jordan and McDaniel having won.

I felt it.

I had to talk trash to the bully.

So we all can gain confidence.

Get there.

Get Jordan.

We want to stay here in the left hand.

All of us stay back, Jordan.

Whoa!

Whoa!

Whoa!

Whoa!

Whoa!

Whoa!

Whoa!

Whoa!

Whoa!

Who a game is at his Michael Jordan game?

That's just a part of the role that I have on your team.

It's to be able to me.

So that fatherly advice kind of worked in hand for me that day.

I began to wait about two and a half years ago.

I was just over in a lot of physical beating from Detroit.

They felt this is the way to play Michael Jordan as a physical beating.

He's got a lot stronger, a lot stronger.

He was the first person I met in Chicago.

Ball didn't pick him up at the airport, so he

had the limousine service that was running.

And his person didn't show up.

He was passionate and he charged me $30.

So he took me right from the beginning to take your head.

I got to tell you something, the first time I picked

him up, he looked like a lost puppy dog at the airport.

He scrunched down in the back of that limo.

I gained weight.

I got up to 2013 to 2014, which is the heaviest I've ever been.

And I'm a lot stronger at the end of the season.

We didn't used to work out on game days and keep the weight regular.

We do it now.

It hasn't affected the shooting or it's playing any.

If it did, he would obviously let me know.

Plus, it was his idea.

Puts me in a aggressive mood, I guess, so when the game

time comes, I don't let anyone take advantage of me.

Michael Jordan has just dismantled the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Chicago Bulls will make their second straight trip

to the NBA Finals where the Portland Trail blazers await.

It was a tailor made final.

This is a series everybody has been waiting for with painted breath for two years.

Portland was going to play against Chicago.

The world, the country, wants to see Portland versus Chicago.

And then it became individual competition.

Jordan against Brechtman, applied against Michael.

See, this is what Michael lived for.

He wanted this challenge showing Clyde not only Clyde, but the world.

I am the greatest, I am the best in the world.

This is the only thought that I had.

This is my motivation.

And that's not to get Clyde mad at me if he ever sees this video, but when the game

and the balls thrown up, it's going to be a difference between the two of us.

And I'm going to let you choose which is right.

Michael's by the line, he runs right by the end of the bat.

Hello, hello.

Troy, you are all of them, sir.

Yes, go, post it up.

Post it up, post it up.

Post it up right by the end of the bat.

I was in a groove, I was in rhythm, then.

I can't really explain.

Michael's get back, put back for Troy for three.

I started hitting threes like there was free throws.

Post it up right by the end of the bat.

The rhythm seems like a big old huge bucket.

Back to Michael.

Back to Michael.

I know the one!

It's unbelievable!

And I can't miss it.

The mic is free again.

Oh!

Wooh!

I was thought of my temper, too.

It's a big prize for the bats in the bat.

Followed by Michael Jordan.

Jordan!

Well, his magic curtain was thrown down.

He's everywhere.

He's everywhere.

This place is tangible.

I am right by the end of the bat.

No!

Oh, no!

I don't believe it!

Three corners from Jordan!

One in the world!

It's going on!

There's Troy for three!

Don't you see that?

Oh, Michael!

You can't believe it!

After a while, it just looked at Marvin and Magic and those guys.

What can I say?

It's not me.

It's just a moment.

This is the greatest performance, maybe ever, in the history and its way.

I'm a very competitive person.

I mean, I hate to lose.

I competed practically everything and competition is everything to me.

The Trailblazers win game four and tie this series at two games apiece.

When you lose, you know, it's easily forgotten.

I don't think anyone would want to go to that great forgotten.

And the defending world champions are one victory

away from making it two NBA titles in a row.

So compete to win.

It's all I live for, really.

Game six.

A three, two.

Bowls lead in the series.

This is the one hundred fourth game of the year for the Bowl.

That's a long haul.

And it is good all in here this afternoon.

I'm going to rebound.

Almost travel to the back court.

Cross court pass.

Go to my court.

Double pass.

Wales missed the line.

Oh, it's a play.

We've stopped the question.

Jordan drives to the basket.

Double pass.

That's enough court.

No good.

Ball knocked it about by Michael.

And Michael Jordan is tired.

He's a tired play.

I was a little tired and feeling a little tired.

And he put me over and he said, well, let's see what happens with this second team.

I'm coming out for a start to move on Duckwood.

Jumped fast, left side, VJ, and left corner.

Hands and fires.

A three and four.

Next thing you know, I'm on the side line.

I'm watching this.

I'm like them.

You know, when I'm playing.

I'm a fifth and back center of Rexwood.

Third.

Double, triple teams.

Ten through it.

Ladies down to five.

All I wanted was a second chance because, you know,

all up to that point, I was playing like a doll.

And then I started looking to feel like, okay, I'm ready.

This could be the time.

Put me back in.

And Jordan really enters the fray.

It'll be Jordan against Rexwood.

Foot fake.

Starts the move.

Each line inside.

Hooks up a hundred stars.

That was an unbelievable jump out of Jordan.

Jordan wants to go one-on-one.

Rexwood, fake left.

Double, right.

Hang to Jordan.

We're tied in 87.

Seven.

And Jordan sits back in the end.

And the ball goes, take the lead.

Superman is back into building.

Superman is back into building.

Oh, but, no.

Push him up.

No, ignore him!

In the middle of the Fishing, jump right towards the Wenning Valley.

Oh, shucks your pushing.

And let the celebration begin here... In the Wendy's favourable.

A lot of work, people share about me doing the course of the year.

What negative things happened to me, it never affected us as a team.

We kept focusing, we kept moving towards it,

and ultimately goal is one of the championships.

The fall has repeated.

Let the party begin.

We did it back to back, and this year we did it in

Chicago, so we wanted to celebrate with Chicago.

And we're told they are bringing the championship trophy to the wall.

I've never seen Michael on the scores table.

I'm going to be like him.

We're going to stop every day.

Chuck Day and pay me over ten minutes, I'm quick.

When I came out to elect professional players, I was a little against me.

My biggest concern was, as I've always said, is what I have the time to relax.

For some reason, it happened either way, and I found myself on that team.

With all these stars on the team, if it comes down to the last shot,

who's going to take a shot?

Me?

Me?

I remember when I first got there, and Chuck

Dayly said, well, do you want to be team captain?

We got Larry and we got magic.

Do you want to be the third team captain?

I said no.

I'm the young guy with the overclockers state.

This is the first Olympics.

I've been there.

They're a little bit older than I am.

He's a young puppy, and the rest are my young puppies.

I'm the big dog here.

And that's a heck of a responsibility to try to keep all these egos in one big bag.

You can't get too close to my voice to file.

You're a familiar filing, no more than a year to have, man.

You don't.

I don't think you ever filed out of a game.

We never filed a game.

So I kind of stepped to the back and just rode along with it for the ride.

Big smile.

That's free.

Who is I now?

Well, the all-time best was Monte Carlo.

We went to Monte Carlo for practice.

We had some time for the relaxation as well.

For me, that means one thing.

Hold on, Doc.

I got to close.

That means we get to go first.

Well, I went up with Chuck Bailey and rides the one and all those guys.

Are you a Chicago Bulls fan?

You're not going to get that sweet.

It was beautiful up there.

You feel the tree?

Oh, bean bag.

You didn't have cards.

You had to walk up and down the hills, which sometimes was very difficult.

But it was an escape.

Okay.

Turn, tickle.

Get off the field.

I played like a pig.

Mike played pretty well.

I had to get too many strokes.

Well, down 2-0-2.

Ride.

Even with Chuck.

And down 2-2-3.

So, I'm losing.

They want strokes left and right and now I'm dying over.

You got to get the hell out of here, man.

We can play some rock.

No, that's not like Barry Nate.

One of the reasons that I went to London is to see how everybody practiced.

See if they took practice as serious as games.

Every practice was really intense.

One team will win first half of practice, which motivates the second team who will

come back and win the second half of practice.

Chuck, how you like that ass kicking the game?

No, no, no, no.

Come on now.

I don't think y'all caught up with it.

Oh, yeah, I'm kidding.

The whole strategy, man.

The whole strategy, man.

You may be getting down here once or twice, please.

It was a large batch talking.

A magic run in the point card he's trying to show everybody is back and his mouth

starts running and then everything starts to go.

I got five chances to bring this is what we used to do in blah, blah, blah.

My rebuttal for that was some new kid in town now.

You retire, you want to come back, but if you come

back, this is your treatment that you're going to get.

No matter what happened in the games, nothing could

be cool what we were going through in Monte Carlo.

And now that was the best.

There's a little bit more of a spectacle than I thought in game mode.

Please test sports everywhere.

Helicopters falling.

Sometimes when we come out going through a game, we have 2,000

people lying down towards the hotel on our way to a game.

We were the highlight of the Olympics.

The dream team everybody wanted to see us.

They wanted to see us drive by, walk by, whatever.

They just wanted to see what's been talked about and promoted so long.

So we wanted to get out there and prove to everyone.

The team that they sent over there was just going

to go over and do the job and accomplish the feat.

We like 12 plain Easter.

We have to do a job, get with shake hands and take pictures with you early.

But when the ball goes up, you know, that's it.

It wasn't a challenge of winning.

It's just a matter of how many points we would win by and how much we would dominate.

There's no tension, there's no pressure.

I just get up and play golf and play basketball and have a good time.

Get the chance to know some of these guys on this team.

That was a good joke.

Did you do that time?

I remember one night we stayed up to about three or four o'clock.

It was myself, Larry and Magic.

And we just started talking about past games, past time.

And we did it for almost four or five hours, you know.

And I really enjoyed it.

And I saw more of the human side of both of them.

And this is exactly one of the reasons that I want to be a part of the team.

But to get to know these guys away from the game.

Sometimes I dream that he is me.

I'm gonna be like Chuck, I mean mine is Chuck.

Chuck is probably one of my best friends in the league.

And it's bottom off.

And a lot of people say why.

Hey, let's go, John.

Let's go, man.

Let's go.

A lot of people felt well he's ugly American

because he looks so physical and so dominant.

In some ways, that's the way Americans are.

Sometimes when we go against other countries, we got so much pride.

We don't dominate.

One, two, three, four.

And this group I love is the greatest team

ever assembled in the history of team sports.

The position I sell for the medals and now it's

the matter just going out there and doing it.

It is what?

Six, thirty, six, quarter, seven, something like that.

I'm drinking coffee.

It's gotta be American.

Can we go now?

What's all these lights?

Is it here or here?

There's a lot of pressure put on us.

And every day we deal with pressure in our profession.

Free from Albuquerque.

Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Thanks, man.

Yours, F on state, man.

A lot of expectations.

A lot of different encounters or whatever.

Last night I hit my wall.

I couldn't make a basket.

What are you doing up somewhere early?

It's been a long, long season.

I mean, it was almost eleven months season for me.

Mentally I was strained.

But, you know, this is a once in a lifetime thing to dream to me.

So, it was something that was easily accepted by me.

Olympic Stadium, imagine.

All the greatest athletes ever.

To go out there and walk through it.

And I got to see the circumstances that they had to deal with.

And the pressure they probably, they felt, walking on that field.

How about everyone knows it's one hundred and twenty-two consecutive races.

Bob Bennett, something twenty-nine feet.

I don't know if I could have participated in that atmosphere.

With me, it's a team's thing.

But, on the individuals standpoint, there's no

team that's just you against the best in the world.

That's a heck for pressure to deal with.

Not too many people get the opportunity to be in the Olympics.

It's happy I was one of them.

I know a lot of people love to have us go with them.

I think everybody's got something to cherish.

I think this is something that my kids are going to love one day.

I guess the big thing about it was, I represented in our country with pride.

And the United States now leads by fifteen.

From this time to... We all are dead and gone.

It would have never been that type of Italian at one particular time.

On the best, gone quick.

I know a lot of people are going to love one day.

I know a lot of people are going to love one day.

I know a lot of people are going to love one day.

They're going to love one day.

That many teams of eleven professionals and

one college player will never be duplicated in.

I think that's what makes the dream team so special.

Because it's once in a lifetime situation.

Whoever saw that team participate in play saw our history.

They see all those Jordan guys.

Come on boys.

I was ready to go home.

My family is my stability.

And all before I got married and had my family

The public and the media got 95% of my time.

Now it's reversed.

They helped me through tough situations.

I don't have too many people to talk to.

I can always talk to my family.

Next page.

Again, Catwoman whips cracks with cracks.

Parents could be better role models than any athlete could ever be.

See, when I was a kid, I never really had a hero.

My closest hero was my father.

I think a lot of things have been made of myself being a role model.

Everyone is giving up their day and their evening to have raised money for the

Michael Jordan Foundation, which is a foundation that tries

to benefit less fortunate kids and youth around the world.

They like to, you know, see kids smile and do

things so that in some ways they can follow.

But I think earlier in my career, I tried to live like everyone wanted me to live.

The purest of all people.

It's no such thing.

And I think that was evident and that was shown through the course of the shit.

That's why I wouldn't change anything over the course of

the year because all of it's been a learning process for me.

From the book to the gambling, to all the different positive things that

happened to me over the course of the year.

I wouldn't change because I think it's made me a better person.

A couple of things I want to say though about the rain ceremony.

Of course, it's a celebration.

It's a celebration of the rain.

It's a celebration of last year's championship.

But for us, it's a celebration of playing together.

It's a last time that you can celebrate what happened in previous year.

It's the last little bit of joy and fun and excitement.

You walk up and you get to the floor and your crowd shows you their respect.

They pay their respects for what you accomplished last

year and what you're about to accomplish this year.

But once again, I want to say thanks.

It's been eight years going into my ninth year.

We got two championships and hopefully we got a lot now.

You carry those memories with you forever.

But now, it's a sense of motivation then.

Okay, we got to get another one.

We got to do this again.

That's enough to keep coming back here in November.

Success is enough to keep coming back.

We're on the North Carolina Kickyard 66.

White place.

White place.

White place.

White, White, White, White, White, White.

Two more.

Action!

You knew we should have taken that right turn in Africa.

I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean.

You just wait a step.

I swear you just wait a step.

Take a look at the camera.

Say hello.

Say hello.

Those smartness.

Who's your favorite player?

Me, Jack.

I want you to leave, man.

Take him out.

Hey, what's your girl's up?

Take him out.

How do you think VJ is?

Up.

Uhh.

White.

Show me a big old horn.

Up.

I'm gonna get some big horn.

Oh, I've been dying.

I mean, she's a cook, but she's not a cook cook.

Yeah, but she doesn't invent things, you know.

Yeah.

She warms up things very well.

She's gonna love that.

Don't daddy put a knife on you every night.

Okay.

I ain't trying this process.

That's all it is.

One.

Two.

This man is doing 60 pounds.

It's like our oasis in the desert.
