Original subtitles

Jake, the label just called. Oh, yeah? What do they want?

They want to know how Eddie's feeling.

Which really means, when are they going to get some new songs?

I did sense blistering contempt underneath their polite manner.

Oh, yeah? You think they'd get through their heads that I see right through it?

Oh, maybe they don't care.

Well, no, they care.

About an album, that is. Listen, um, call Ed, and I'll find a nice way to ask

him politely.

Ask me what?

Ed, my man, what's up? What's going on?

Nothing. Just thought I'd drop by and sign those licensing contracts before I

left town.

Okay. Well, I got them right over here. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.

What do you mean, leave town?

Don't worry. It's just for a few days.

Can I get some details? I mean, I didn't remember booking anything for you. You

didn't. It's personal, but don't worry. I'll be on my cell.

Is everything okay, man?

Yes. Everything's fine. I just need to leave L.A. for a little bit.

Clear my head.

I hear you.

I mean, you've really been put through the wringer lately with all the Chloe

drama.

Plus, with all you're having to do for Lauren, it has nothing to do with her.

Why would you even bring that up?

I had it all, and I blew it.

Why? Why did I have to tell him that I loved him?

Because you do.

You're just being honest.

Yeah, but that doesn't mean I have to be honest with him about that.

How long can you keep a secret like that?

Well, obviously, he wasn't ready to hear it.

And now I'm scared that he's telling me lies just to avoid seeing me.

You don't know for sure that he's lying.

It's a pretty sure bet.

Why? Because Jake's assistant had no idea that he was on this press junket.

And you're going to believe everything somebody who's basically a receptionist

says?

I don't know.

All I know is that I poured my heart out to Eddie, and now he's going away

somewhere, and he won't even tell me where.

Maybe Jake arranged it, and it's just super top secret.

Or maybe he's ditching me.

Look. I'm kind of an expert at rejection, having experienced many

different forms of it.

And it just usually feels more personal than this.

A fake story that he told only me? That's pretty personal.

Yeah, but Eddie just doesn't seem the type to play games like that.

Just, there has to be an explanation for this. Yeah, and I'm worried that that

explanation is he's getting back with Chloe.

I mean, she was there and answered the phone the first time I called. I will

never believe that, ever. Not in a million years.

Something's wrong.

I know him well enough to know that.

I am so tired of people telling me how to feel or not to feel, and you and my

dad do it to me all the time. Hey, we're not trying to tell you how to feel, man.

We're just trying to give you some advice.

We care about you. We don't want to see you suffering.

And I appreciate that, okay? But I can handle myself.

I know you can, okay, Eddie? I didn't mean to make it sound like you couldn't.

Good.

And I didn't mean to explode.

Hey, it happens, man. I mean...

You're under a lot of pressure lately, you know, with the... And not just

personal stuff. You got the label breathing down your neck about getting

new material out. I don't want to talk about that.

Okay? They'll get it when it's ready.

All right, fair enough. I plan on telling them that today anyways.

Good.

Is there any more paperwork we need to get through before I take off?

Nope. Good to go.

But there is an amazing idea that I do want to run by you.

Let's hear it.

Okay.

I'm thinking you do a really low-key concert at the MK Club. An acoustic set,

right? Some of the old stuff mixed with the new. It'll give you a chance to try

out your new material.

To make sure it doesn't suck.

Hey, don't be that way, okay? Nobody's saying they don't like what they've

heard. Jake, they is you, and you kind of did say that. No, I said it would be

a departure from your stuff.

The whole concert idea is just a good way to work out the details and give,

you know, give yourself some buzz.

That's not a terrible idea.

You see, you do have them sometimes.

Good.

I'd love to take credit for it, but this time it's all Kelly.

Really?

Well, I'll be sure to thank her, then.

You know, it might re-energize me.

Yeah, plus it might push you to write some new material.

You know, and then we can get some feedback on the existing stuff, and your

girl Lauren will get some very valuable exposure.

Lauren? Well, yeah, Kelly was thinking she could do a couple of songs, too.

Wow, I like that idea.

Actually, I love that idea.

So you'll do it? I'll think about it, okay? Lauren definitely needs her own

gig, but...

Hmm. I don't know. I'll let you know before I get back.

All right, great.

And, uh, listen, I think this whole trip thing is a good thing for you, okay?

It'll help you clear your head, recharge.

Do what you got to do, man.

All right.

I think you need a little break, too, huh?

Why don't you take the rest of the night off? Go see Tracy. Oh, I will soon.

Wait, wait, wait. Where are you going? You haven't told me where you're going.

Exactly.

Of course I meant it. Set up the meeting, and I'll bring Eddie.

So you guys are still on speaking terms?

Eddie and I are adults and good friends.

He personally told me that he's still very interested in the movie.

That's great.

Well, Oddhorn has an opening later today.

All right. What do you think, Miles?

Yeah? I don't know.

You'd put that in your office?

Anyhow, looks like we have Eddie back on the hook.

Are you sure, or are you just guessing? I just had a brief conversation with

Chloe. She called? Why didn't you put her through?

I thought you were busy.

Not for her.

Well, anyhow, she wants to bring Eddie in here to discuss the project.

Very interesting.

I wonder if that means they're back together.

Doesn't matter. She says he's interested.

Looks like the Tyler trick worked.

The Tyler trick was just an impetus.

But then Eddie got smart and he realized it was a spectacular idea.

So, I wonder if that means that she got back together with him.

Who?

Chloe. Will you pay attention?

Sorry, I'm trying, Mr. Osborne.

Speaking of Tyler, he's been calling.

Well, put him through next time. I'll take his call.

Why? Because I like him.

Reminds me of me if I let myself be angry and bitter.

Hey, Levy.

You should sign this guy, Tyler Rourke, the next DiCaprio.

He's a loser.

But a glorious one.

That takes talent, too.

Are you really considering having this baby?

What if I am?

Then I'd have to remind you how crazy an idea that is. That we can't afford to

have a child.

We haven't even finished high school.

You left home and you're making it work.

You think that this is making it work?

I can't even afford the rent on this dump.

Okay, don't yell at me right now, Phil. I'm freaked out.

Give me your hand.

Okay. That's fine. Okay, so now just breathe.

Okay.

Deeper breaths. Calm down. In and out.

Now let's just review the facts.

Okay.

Eddie had a lovely dinner with you and your mom at your place. Mm-hmm.

Then you spent a fabulous night at the club.

Mm. Yeah. Yeah. And you've had a scorching hot make-out session.

Ooh. Yeah, true. Right? So there is no reason to believe that he's running away

from you.

He's been nothing but fabulous.

Except that after all that happened, I called him and Chloe answered and said

he was in the shower.

Lauren, she will say anything to hurt you.

But what was she even doing there? They broke up. I don't know. She's crazy.

Maybe she went back to give him the ring.

Yeah, but then why would he say that he was going out of town for work but then

really be going away on this mysterious getaway? For the last time, you don't

know that for sure.

You know, his manager's flaky assistant told you that. You can't listen to those

people. A big part of their job is lying.

You don't even know Steven.

I know his type.

Anyway, it doesn't matter what Eddie said. It matters how he sounded.

Which was what?

Strange. Like something was wrong.

You always do this.

You always look for the problem. Can't you just see the glass is half full for

once? Eddie's a busy guy. He's got a lot on his mind.

Maybe he was thinking about something else when he talked to you.

Or someone else.

Stop it.

This is not about Chloe. He is done with her.

Turn on water, add soap, wash hands, bye-bye.

Oh, I hate this.

I have no idea where we stand.

It's such a mess.

Well, you can either keep wondering and torturing yourself, or you can go find

out for sure.

Just talk to him?

You sound like my mom.

Well, then you should probably listen to the two smartest women in your life.

Go find him, look into his eyes, and ask him,

Eddie, what is going on with us?

We're talking about the rest of our lives here, so we have to make the right

decision.

You know what that is, don't you?

I thought I did.

The thought of having a baby is terrifying.

So is the thought of not having one.

Ade, we have to do this.

Bill, this is a major medical procedure.

Sometimes things can go wrong.

What if they mess up and I can't have kids anymore?

What if I have a reaction to the anesthesia or if I bleed out to death?

Come on.

Don't psych yourself out like that. The odds of anything like that happening,

it's not even worth talking about, okay? It's a very safe procedure.

How would you know?

Did you take a poll of gynecologists or are you just going off of personal

experience?

You know that I'm not.

Then don't pretend that you know anything about this.

All I know is this.

We don't have many options.

Okay? Now, I'm going to stand by you.

But what if we let this go and your dad finds out?

I don't... I don't even know. I do.

He'll murder me and he will cut you off.

Like that.

I can't even imagine.

So that is why he can never find out. I mean, you get that, right?

Yeah.

Hey, we gotta take care of this.

It's the only way.

Have you talked to Phil lately?

Hi, Dad.

I'm fine.

My day? No, it wasn't too bad. How was yours?

I'm sorry.

I am sorry, honey. I'm just worried about him. You understand.

Of course I do.

Story of my life.

My hair could be on fire and it'd be like, I wonder where Phil is.

Have a seat.

Tell me what's going on in your life.

Thank you. I would love to.

So, um, things are going really well with my new boyfriend.

That's good. Yep.

He enjoys rollerblading, horror movies, and very strange indie rock music.

You don't say.

Did I also mention he's a convicted felon?

That's not funny, Mel.

You're right. I'm sorry. That was a lame joke.

I don't know what's going on.

He hangs out with bad people, people he shouldn't even know.

And I've worked...

So hard to give you both a good life.

Yeah, except that for Phil, Dad, a good life is him having everything handed to

him with as little work as possible.

Does he resent me that much?

Don't take it personally.

Phil's just one of those kids that will always think that he got a raw deal.

So he's hell-bent on trying to ruin his own life. You know, I... I don't know

what else to do.

Well, what would Grandpa do?

He always seemed like a pretty tough guy.

It's easy to seem tough when you got a well-behaved kid.

You know, the worst thing I ever did was steal the rival team's mascot.

Oh, you didn't. Yes, I did.

And I ate our lawn. Oh, no.

I think I'm still grounded for that one.

It was nothing like the stuff Phil's doing.

I wish I could help you, Dad.

I got nothing.

Phil's so far out there at this point, I'm not even sure if you can throw him a

lifeline.

Don't ever say that, Mel.

I'm sorry.

You know what? I just thought of something.

I don't know exactly what I'm going to do. Wait, Doc.

Laura, are you home?

Oh. Hi, Mom. Hi. Where have you been?

Just at Mel's.

How's your day?

It was great. It was great. You know, I have some interesting news.

Oh, what happened? Yeah, so Don asked me if I wanted to invest in the clinic.

Really? Mm-hmm.

But you're not even a doctor. No, I know. I know. I'd be the general

manager, and I would do all the business stuff the doctors don't want to deal

with. And eventually, I would become a partner.

Wow.

Partner in a medical practice without even going to med school? That's crazy.

I know. It could be.

And I'm just flattered, you know, that Don wants to do business with me.

He must really trust your judgment.

There's just one problem, though.

The initial investment is pretty large.

Like how large?

Like, I don't know if I could swing it large.

But if I could scrape up the cash, then eventually I could share in the profits.

You really think this is a good investment? I don't know. I don't know.

I mean, I need to look at some numbers and ask Don what else it would entail.

Oh, yeah.

Oh, well, sounds good.

You seem worried about something.

Did you ever talk to Eddie?

Yeah.

Yeah, everything's fine.

Yeah? You sure about that?

Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

Well, you know, I've just been feeling a little overwhelmed with the whole music

thing. My video's been getting a lot of hits and comments, and Kelly says she

has big plans, so I'm just...

I guess feeling the pressure of that.

I understand that.

But, you know, you just have to remember that the reason this is all happening is

because you're so talented, and that talent is not going anywhere.

So you can slow down if you need to.

No. I'm all good.

I can handle it. All right. Good.

All right, well, I'm gonna go start dinner.

So, uh, what does Kelly have in mind for your music career?

I love saying that.

I'm not sure.

I mean, she said she has big plans and something cooking, but I don't really

know what that is.

She's coming over, though, later, so I guess we'll find out then.

Thanks for letting me come up.

Only because you threatened to camp out in the lobby.

That's an exaggeration.

What's going on?

A lot of exciting things. I met with Osborne Silver again, and, uh... Oh, are

you going out of town?

Yeah.

Where?

On your business.

Is Lauren going with you?

No.

Chloe, stop.

Okay.

Now, what's up? I'm a little busy.

Well, I talked to Osborne Silver about you meeting with him.

Okay.

And he's thrilled. He's really excited.

And things are moving really quickly now. And, uh, well, he's supposed to go

out of town tonight, so he wanted to meet with you today.

You know what?

I wish you would have cleared it with me or Jake first.

Yeah, but I mean, can't we just go meet with Oz and then you can go wherever

you're going after?

No. Okay, I can't. It's a press junket. It's all set up.

And I don't break commitments.

I know that you don't, but this is really important to me. I wouldn't ask

you otherwise. Please.

If the great and powerful Oz wants to do a movie with me, he can wait a few days.

Yeah, but maybe I can't.

Chloe. Eddie, I have nothing else going on. This is it.

My whole career rides on this one meeting.

Okay.

You know, that's a little extreme, isn't it?

I agreed to do this for you because everybody deserves a second chance.

And I want you to leave me alone.

But I'm not going to be manipulated.

I'm not going to do that.

Good.

Because I can easily change my mind about this whole thing.

And I'll let you know when I get back.

Okay?

You need something?

Yeah, I need to talk to Colorado. Is he around?

Uh, he's not available. You want to leave a message?

I got it, Eddie.

I'm Phil Sanders' father. We met briefly at the motel.

Yeah, I remember.

Kid's not here.

Good.

Let's keep it that way.

Excuse me?

I don't want him around you anymore.

I think he's old enough to make his own decisions, don't you?

Work where he wants.

I know who you really are.

And I know what goes on around here.

I think we're finished.

Have a nice day.

You leave my son alone or I will make sure that you leave him alone.

I don't respond well to threats.

What are you going to do?

Colorado. You gonna tune me up?

Take your best shot, man.

Because I would love to add assault to that list of charges you got going.

You're trespassing.

Get off my property. Anything happens to my son and you are dead.

You don't know who you're dealing with.

Neither do you.

It's a big plan.

OK.

So here it is.

I want to set up a show at the MK Club with Eddie as the headliner, and then as

the opening act, Lauren Tate.

Wow.

That's really exciting. Oh, my god. That would be huge for me.

Is Eddie on board with that?

Well, we floated the idea past him. We're just waiting for him to get back

to get the final answer.

Yeah. No, he said that he was going out of town for a few days, but I can't

remember where he said he was going. I have no idea. Jake still doesn't share a

lot about Eddie with me, so... Yeah, well, okay. Um, is there anything I need

to do in the meantime?

Well, I've got a vocal coach who's willing to help you for the concert. Are

you up for that?

Uh, yeah, sure.

Great. Can you meet her at the MK Club later?

Oh. Wow, you move fast.

Yeah, well, now's the time. Your video is on fire.

You need to show what you can do in front of a live setting, and sharing a

bill with Eddie, I mean, it's just gonna open you up to a whole new audience.

Right, and you're sure that he's okay with that?

He has to test out some new material, so it's a no-brainer for him.

Yeah, but did he actually say that I could open for him? Not yet, but he

will. So I'll text you the time for the meeting, and we will talk soon.

Okay. Thanks, Kelly.

Thank you, Kelly. Bye.

Okay, what's wrong? And don't say nothing, because I know it's something.

I think I may have messed things up with Eddie, and now he's pulling back.

Did he say something?

No, it's more like what he didn't say.

I was talking on the phone with him, and he just sounded weird, and he wouldn't

tell me where he was going.

Okay, well, honey, he's got a lot on his mind, all right?

Mom, please don't try to make me feel better. Please don't say I told you so.

Laura, you know I would never do that.

I feel like I scared him off.

I mean, he said that he's going away, but I'm hearing different stories about

where, and I don't know, something's just not right.

All right, if him going out of town isn't necessarily a bad thing, I mean,

maybe he just needs to get some time on his own, and he'll probably come back in

a better place for both of you.

Hey. Hey.

You going up to the bungalow tonight?

Yes.

How'd you know I was going up to the bungalow?

Well, you know, it's a good place to get inspired.

And for writing.

Yeah. Came up with some of my best songs over there.

Maybe it's the ocean wind.

Yeah. Wow, man, you need to relax.

Whatever it is, just, you know, I hope it works for me. I could use some

inspiration right now. I've hit a wall the last couple of days.

I told you, don't rush into it.

It gets hard. It's complicated.

Everything that's going on in your life right now, you shouldn't. Just take it

easy. Nurture your body, your soul.

Breathe in.

It'll come. The music will come. I promise.

I just... I don't know what to think. You know, usually I can will myself into

the zone, no matter what's going on, eventually come up with something, but

not this time.

You know what I think? I think you're trying too hard.

And the better you get as an artist, the harder it is for you to find something

that you're actually proud of.

I mean, I'd settle for writing something I'm not particularly proud of right now

because, yeah, I got nothing.

All right, well, so go up to the bungalow, chill, think of nothing work

-related, all right?

I'll try.

Oh, I just need to get, like, a sense of control over my career, over my life.

You will.

Yeah, I'm really glad that everything's going well for Lauren, though.

Her video's blowing up. People can't get enough of her, and she... She really

deserves it.

Yeah. She's so talented and a really great friend. I just hope she doesn't

get disappointed.

She won't be.

Why would she?

I don't know.

You know, she's... Everything's happening so fast.

I remember just a few weeks ago, she was a high school student and planning on

going to college.

Then I decided to...

pluck her out of the head and put her in my crazy world. I just hope it was the

right thing to do for her. I like her for you.

I think she's been really good. I know I was a little concerned at the beginning,

but for some reason, I feel like she brings out the best in you.

She's awesome.

Right? She's like the most centered person in my life.

Present company excluded.

I think she's probably a hell of a lot more centered than I am. That's for

sure.

And I'm just another confused, neurotic artist.

Is there any other kind?

Yeah.

Maybe a change of surroundings will help me clear my head.

Well, just remember, being alone is not always necessarily the best solution,

you know?

You found creative spark, a great friendship, and maybe even more with

someone special.

And that's a rare thing.

I had it with your mom.

And I think, you know, it's gonna be hard for me to find that again.

Don't give up, Pop.

Mom wouldn't want you to. You might find it.

We'll see.

All right.

We'll see you. Drive safely.

Okay.

No, everything's still cool.

Yep.

You got it.

We're on.

Plan's moving ahead.

Even with that detective still around?

Common.

He's not going to stop us. I got responsibilities here.

Orders to Phil. God, man, all those cops make me nervous as hell.

It's all good.

I got a backup plan.

If it hits the fan, we feed Phil Santus to the police on a plane.

As far as any of us know, he only works here.

That's it.

Nobody can prove we have any knowledge of what else he may be up to.

Phil, it's Colorado.

Thanks.

What does he want?

Guess I'll find out.

It's fine.

Hey, it's Phil. Get over here.

I need to talk to you.

Listen, can we do this some other time? I'm kind of in the middle of something

right now.

I'm not asking.

So I can help you with vocal exercises, but also show you how to make the most

of the stage space. You can really connect with the audience.

That sounds great. I mean, I could use all the help I can get, so cool.

When can we get started?

Thursday night at 7.

Sounds great.

Thank you. I'll see you then.

Bye. Bye-bye.

Max,

thank you so much for letting Kelly set up this meeting here. Oh, absolutely.

How'd it go?

Yeah? Yeah, I think I'm finally getting used to the idea and accepting that

maybe I could actually do this.

Of course you can do this.

Have you seen that video of yours? That's doing incredible.

I know. I never even dreamed that I would get that many hits.

I feel though that's kind of because Eddie's in it and all that. No, Eddie's

in the background playing guitar. You are front and center.

People are watching it because of you.

I don't think even Eddie's craziest fans would click that many times just to see

him. Well.

Speaking is one of them.

Maybe they would.

Okay, maybe a few.

Okay. Well, thank you again.

Absolutely. Okay, I'll see you in a few days. All right. Hey.

You got a minute?

Yeah. What's up?

Come. Oh, okay.

Um, have a seat, have a seat.

Have you seen Eddie recently?

No.

Um... He said that he was going out of town for a few days, but I don't know

exactly where.

He went up to our bungalow.

Oh. Yeah.

Kind of needed to clear his head a little bit because of everything that's

going on.

Yeah, I figured.

Yeah. So don't worry, he's not hiding from you.

Chloe, maybe. I don't know.

Really? Is she bothering him?

I don't know.

I wouldn't put it past her, though.

It's, you know, it's the whole pressure. It's probably getting to him, and

Eddie's been in the limelight his entire life. It's got to be tough on the kid.

Oh.

I wish I could help.

Yeah. You and me both.

Actually, maybe you could help.

How?

Why don't you go up there?

What? Yeah.

Surprise him.

No, I don't think he's up for that kind of surprise.

You'd be surprised.

You might be.

No, I mean, if he wants privacy, I don't want to just barge in on him.

I don't think being alone is the right thing for him right now.

I think maybe he needs you.

Take me home.

This place is in me

from the start.

It's the hardest part when day turns dark.

Nothing left for me to hold.

You're telling me that Max actually instructed you to go meet Eddie?

Yeah, he gave me the address and everything.

What are you waiting for? You map this bad boy online and you get your butt up

there right now.

I don't know if I'm going to go.

What are you talking about?

Okay, yes, Max told me to go up there and see him, but that's one thing I

didn't... different than getting an invite from Eddie. I don't want to come

off like a stalker. No, you won't. A stalker would look for the address

through property records, go park near his house to see if he's home, and then

eventually come up with an excuse to knock on the door.

Or so I've heard.

Anyway, um, what if he opens the door and he's clearly not happy to see me?

That. is where your excuse comes in handy. What excuse?

That I just happened to be in the neighborhood, so I thought I'd swing by?

No, that Max sent you.

This is one of those rare cases where the truth is actually better than the

excuse. I mean, if for some reason Eddie isn't happy to see you, it's, you know,

we could just blame it on his dad.

I don't know.

Come on, Lo.

You know what you want to.

Maybe. Why else would you be here?

Maybe I thought you were gonna talk me out of it.

When am I? ever tried to talk you out of a good idea you obviously just needed

one of my patented get up off your butt and do it talks it might be working it

always works that's why i got it patented you look like you lost your

best friend i know that there's a cliche about spilling your guts to a bartender

it's supposed to make you feel better but i'm not buying it i was just trying

to be polite miss carter if you want to be polite Then you can get me another

glass of wine. That one's lukewarm.

Hannah, hey, what do you got for me? Where's Eddie headed?

That doesn't help me.

I need to know where Eddie is, not where he isn't. So don't call me unless you

have some important information for me.

What are you staring at?

Hey, I'm home, and I brought dinner from Instant Karma.

Oh, Chloe's not here.

That's even better. We'll surprise her. Will you be joining us?

No.

I don't like Chinese food.

It's Indian.

Oh, is that Native American or that Bollywood stuff?

Oh, Bollywood. It's the culinary capital of India.

Yeah, don't you get snippy.

Ever since you and Chloe moved down here from Fresno, the two of you become a

couple of snotty little know-it-alls.

Okay. So what's really bothering you?

Chloe trying to make her life into a movie script. I don't like it.

Trust me, she's not going to be writing any screenplays soon. I went to high

school with her. She could barely string three words together.

Stay sweet.

Heart you forever.

Yeah, well, she's got a little more incentive now ever since that producer

said he wants to make a movie about her.

Right.

And how do you think that's gonna make me look?

Huh?

I mean, don't sweat it. I mean, she's gonna get bored of that thing in two

seconds.

Especially when she realizes Osborn's not serious about it.

Then why the hell did they tell her to start working on it?

It's a carrot.

He has a hotspore, so he's dangling in front of her just to keep her around.

Yeah, well, from what I hear, Eddie's going to be doing that remake of Grease,

and Chloe still thinks she's going to be involved.

Jackie, you got to lay off the gossip sites.

Get outside.

Do a Zumba class or something.

FYI, Mr.

Smarty Pants, that was not from a website.

Chloe is arranging a meeting between Eddie and that silver fella herself.

Where'd you hear that?

Forget I said anything.

I usually do, but not this. Where'd you hear that? No, I don't know what I'm

saying. Chloe's always...

about all kinds of things on the phone that I don't understand.

Is that spinach?

That looks delicious.

Smells spicy.

Lovato.

You're late.

Sorry about that. I am beginning to think your heart is no longer in this,

Xander. Your brain either. And that makes me worry.

Whoa, wait.

Whoa, what's the problem?

Let's start with your old man.

What about him? He showed up here today full of threats.

Okay, I don't know what that's... Do you think I like being harassed in my own

shop? Do you think I'm going to stand for that?

It's bad enough you got the cops sniffing around, but I'm not putting up

with threats from your daddy.

I'm sorry he hassled you, but I promise I didn't say anything to him.

I'll do whatever it takes to fix this.

Just give me one.

One good reason why I should keep you around.

I'm listening.

I can help you. I'll do whatever it takes.

Finish what you started.

I got clients waiting for a large shipment of pain meds.

You're gonna get them for me.

You're finally back.

What were you?

I was shopping with Hannah.

Cool. Didn't find anything good?

No, nothing that Hannah would let me buy.

Picky, picky.

What's all this?

I thought you'd be a little more excited.

It's all your favorites.

Yeah, I'm not that hungry.

That's all right. We can heat it up later.

Maybe.

Why do you seem so bummed?

Things are looking good for you. You're in with a big movie producer now.

Things are happening.

Who says I'm bummed?

I know you, Chloe.

So, anyways, did you talk to Osborne Silver about casting me in Grease?

Yeah, I called him. I left a message, but he hasn't called me back yet.

Did you leave a message for Oz or for Connor?

What difference does it make? You know everything goes through Connor anyway.

You imply that you're tight with Oz now.

I... He said that he was interested in my life story.

That's all. Why are you getting so defensive?

And why are you grilling me?

You're right. I'm sorry. I'm just kind of anxious about this role.

I don't want to find out that I got beat out by Eddie again. Eddie has nothing to

do with this.

Well, he's caused a lot of trouble for us in the past.

And it seems like you're still kind of bothered by it.

I'm not.

I told you I'm done with him.

All right.

You're right. I'm being a jerk.

Things are pretty sweet for us right now.

And we're not going to do anything to ruin that, right?

What's this?

That's a shopping list.

Those are the meds that you and the princess are going to jack from her

father's clinic.

Pretty long list.

Don't forget the patches.

Now take off. I'm busy.

Look, I can't hit Master's Clinic again. Not for a little while.

All right?

He increased the security. He changed the alarm codes.

I'm sure you and the princess can figure that out. Let me find someplace else.

You know, a pharmacy with less security. I can do it.

I just need a week or two.

It's not going to work for me, Philip.

Come on, Carl.

The cops are all over me right now.

And whose fault is that?

Just let me wait until the heat dies down a little bit.

I can't wait that long.

I made commitments to my clients.

If I don't fulfill those, that damages my credibility.

You want to be responsible for that?

No.

So I can count on you.

Yeah.

Smartest thing you said all day.

Shut the door on the way out.

Still here?

No, he's at work.

Work?

That job that he does.

Colorado's.

I'm not sure that...

I think he has several terms.

Look, you don't need to be afraid of me, Adriana.

Look, I don't know what time Phil's getting back.

It's okay.

I want to talk to you alone.

Um, no, I was just heading out. I have to go pick up some stuff for my dad.

It's just going to take a minute, Adriana.

All right, this is very important. Please, hear me out.

It always sounds the same But silence can't be blamed So I'd always stop

pretending It echoes in my head But I don't know what

was said In the messages you're sending And I'm tired of your

game Of blowing out the flame And now I need you just to stop

say what you're really feeling before

the time we have runs out

why can't you see that we're not

okay

Hey, come in. Hey, hi.

What are you doing here?

I'm not sure.

I want you.

I think you want me too.
