Episode 23 It's high... My God!

My God!

What brings you here, Director...

Didn't I tell you, Dr. Jeong?

That I'd be seeing you again real soon.

You must've been up to something interesting.

Interesting? It's just something I was studying.

But what brings you here without calling first?

My sweetie

At Miryeong Hospital?

Including the trauma center you proposed,

I'm planning on a business to provide great support for all the village residents.

If we expanded this place and brought in the latest equipment,

I think it will be a great medical center for Miryeong County.

You came here at this hour to tell me that?

Thanks to you, the foundation finds the project

meaningful and is moving forward swiftly.

It was worth making my haste trip down here.

The hospital site is spacious and I even got to see you study.

I'm glad that the trauma center will be built so fast.

But I'm not sure about the medical center.

There's already Gangwon Myeongseong Hospital and

isn't this area too out of the way for the county residents?

That's why it's even better.

The neglected area like Miryeong is being reborn as a symbol of medical welfare.

Is Miryeong your hometown?

Or is it the foundation's executive director's?

It seems like you love Miryeong County very much.

It's all thanks to you, Dr. Jeong.

You changed Miryeong, Dr. Jeong.

Jeong Yeong Jae!

Yeong Jae!

Gosh, you scared me!

I thought you were running late. What brings you here?

I went home, but you were there. I kept calling, but you didn't answer.

It was on silence.

Did you see a patient at this hour?

I saw a car I didn't recognize drive by.

He looked around the hospital saying he'll expand the hospital.

So, why did you call me?

My God!

I found it on my way over.

I guess you've seen that somewhere.

- Let's go. To our home. - Okay.

You have to let me go to go home.

I don't want to. Let's go like this.

Let's go, shorty.

What are you doing?

But you know, you yelled out, "Yeong Jae" earlier.

So what? You're mine, so I'm calling you by name.

You're so funny. Who says I'm yours?

Aren't you? Who do you belong to then?

Will you really be okay?

Sleeping alone?

No!

Without you, Oppa, Yeong Jae will...

will be so, so scared.

Did you think I'd say that?

Go home and sleep. I have lots of work to do.

This place is good. Where is this?

I won't be scared at all since the rain stopped. Right?

I'm going to bed first.

The rice cake is the best during summer. Don't you think?

Geez, so dry.

So dry, so dry...

Yes, this is Jeong Yeong Jae.

I'm sorry to call you so late, Dr. Jeong.

Our foundation would like to have you as the director of the medical center.

Me?

Why me?

For what you symbolize.

We want to use your pure intention as the medical center's marketing point.

So, I wanted to ask you if you could send me a document

on a specific area of study that you're interested in.

A document?

It's a formality to produce a profile on the medical center director.

You can make it simple.

For example, what you were studying earlier...

Well, things like that.

I'm only a resident now.

What do you mean a medical center director? That's over the top.

There are specialists at Miryeong Hospital who have worked there for a long time.

I'll discuss that with the foundation.

In any case, I need some information on your profile.

So, please send me that document.

Okay, I'll do that.

Why does he want me to write up a document?

And he called me about that at this late hour?

Test kit – About arsenic substance

Director, a doctor from Miryeong Hospital requested a water quality analysis report.

Miryeong Hospital?

Take care of it as per usual.

Find out what Kang San Hyeok's critical weakness is.

It's Kang San Hyeok's fiancée.

And they live in Miryeong village together.

It's the same doctor who requested a water

quality analysis report from Miryeong Hospital.

The managing director wishes to donate quietly behind the scenes.

I ask that you move forward with everything under the

foundation name without revealing the managing director's name.

Hello, Director. Long time no see.

- We've been waiting. Have a seat. - Yes.

Jeong Yeong Jae.

Miryeong 119 Special Rescue Team is celebrating its 25th anniversary today.

To recognize our team members' hard work night

and day for the safety of the people...

Move, I can't see him.

He's a bad boy.

For the past 25 years consistently,

the village residents have lived side by side with our rescue team.

And we've prepared this celebration with gratitude.

For a helicopter, especially behind the helicopter...

You can't stand behind it.

You can't see the propeller rotating on its tail end.

- Something terrible will happen. - So scary...

Team Leader.

I think the trauma management system will be worked out.

Trauma management?

You had asked me about it last time for your team members.

When did we talk about that?

Are you sure you're not mistaking me for someone else?

It was you, Team Leader.

No way. I'd remember it if it were me.

I see...

Ma'am!

Her mom and dad had already drowned.

And the little girl was not moving.

Yeong Jae!

Yeong Jae!

It's okay. It's okay.

It's okay.

What are you doing here?

You're up.

The tranquilizer was about to wear out. I didn't think I should leave you alone.

Are you okay?

I'm okay.

I'm proud of you, Jeong Yeong Jae.

You must've been scared.

But you're awake now.

I'm so proud of you.

I'd like to be alone.

All right. Do that.

You're such an expert. The best.

"What I want to do most: Camping." That's what you wrote.

It's the weekend. Get in.

- Go camping? Now? - Yeah.

You don't have to prepare anything. Just go like that.

Description of incident: I, Bong Dae Yong, holding on the hoist...

Good morning, Team Leader.

Oh, good morning.

Team Leader, about yesterday's accident...

The hoist adjuster must put away the rope after the training.

But why was it left out dangerously and get tangled by our visitor's foot?

I forgot. It was my mistake.

Why did you make a mistake?

Good morning!

You could've told me to put the rope away.

But you even forgot that as well.

You've worked as an aviation rescuer for 25 years.

How could you have forgotten that?

By chance, did you measure your alcohol level yesterday morning?

What are you doing, Kang hoobae? It's not necessary.

It's not unnecessary.

I'm trying to prevent an even bigger incident.

After the incident yesterday, you couldn't give out any orders.

You were acting strange, Team Leader.

Did you measure your alcohol level?

- Two nights ago, I... - Team Leader!

Team Leader, wait, Pilot Jeong is looking for you.

Give me a moment.

You know, he's in a huge rush due to his flying schedule.

Where have you been? I've been looking for you all over.

Hurry, hurry.

Hurry, hurry!

- Two night ago... - I was looking for you all over.

Why couldn't I get in touch, Team Leader?

When will you be done with all the files?

I'm almost done. I have a little bit more.

What do you mean you're done? You have this much left.

Why bluff?

That's all done. I just have this much.

You've done this much already? Does that make sense?

I took them home when I had to. I even pulled all nighters.

I'll finish them today. Please wait.

You pulled all nighters?

What choice do I have?

My high and mighty sunbaenim asked me to do this.

I should do it right away.

Sunbaenim?

Sunbaenim,

I'm not good at kissing up to people.

I know my weaknesses very well.

But you know, I don't play dirty to steal someone else's cake.

I went to the conference only because the higher-ups told me to go.

I'm doing my best to undo an unnecessary misunderstanding.

The shuttle bus doesn't come today.

So I'll organize everything and hand them over to you quickly.

Whatever! Then do that.

Let's do this.

Director, I'm going in to catch the rats.

You made sure to set the trap, right?

I planted infamous experts.

You don't have to worry.

There will be an introduction by the Director Kwon Joo Han

as the chair of the shareholders' meeting.

Hello to all the shareholders whom I respect.

I'm Kwon Joo Han.

As a result of the audit, Taesung High Tech's finances and

accounting, there were no corruption nor important issues relating

to the breach of the corporate constitution.

Wait a minute! Wait!

Please be quiet!

For a company that manufactures electronic parts,

I see evidence of planning a resort business.

What do you mean there were no important issues?

How did you get to start the Miryeong Forest Resort project

and how is it moving forward?

Please explain, so the shareholders can understand.

I address you respectfully, shareholder.

I don't know why such a rumor is going around.

But I have never been involved with a resort project.

You've never done that?

You hired a fixer named Jo Kwang Pil, a former gangster,

and order him to move forward with the business.

The flow of the funds to that Jo Kwang Pil's

service company is clearly shown here.

Will you continue to deceive the shareholders?

Respectfully, shareholder, I don't know someone by that name.

Who's spreading false information? Provide proof!

There's a photo.

Melanoma?

Particularly in this village...

And this village has a history of manufacturing pesticides.

Lung cancer.

Deceased.

Sepsis.

Deceased.

Why is this stupid vending machine so slow?

Dr. Park, why did you keep the photos of these patients?

What are you talking about?

Among the records from last ten years, you kept only these two patients' photos.

- Why did you do that? - Geez...

Who are they?

Well, just because. It felt weird to me.

What was strange about them? Their skin condition?

This grandma had a bad cold, but

she had these blood clots, bruises, and dark spots.

So, I took some pictures.

But she passed away in a week with high fever and sepsis.

This grandpa was diagnosed with lung cancer.

And he had a strange melanoma on his back.

But what about these pictures?

Their addresses are both Miryeong village.

By chance, do you know if they used underground water for drinking?

How would you know that, Dr. Jeong? By chance, are you thinking that's it?

Metal poisoning?

How do you know about that, Dr. Park? Did you figure that out then?

See? You should've pressed the issue.

Back then, Dr. Park thought it was strange.

But nothing was detected through water quality analysis and

they passed away pretty quickly. So, he just let that go.

So what else could I do? I was demoted to this tiny hospital.

They'd look down on me for saying something ridiculous.

It's not ridiculous, Dr. Park.

They found arsenic in the analysis.

What!

What's going on with this situation?

Then why wasn't anything detected on the water quality analysis?

There's something strange going on in Miryeong village.

Episode 24 will air soon

Now, now, everyone. Please be respectful toward the chair.

Now, now, now. We don't need anything else.

As CEO Kwon has been doing thus far,

why don't we decide with our applause?

CEO Kwon will take full responsibility for Taesung High Tech's poor management

and select the board of directors that the Mirae Fund recommends.

The shareholders who agree,

please give a round of applause!

The hunt is over, Director.

I apologize, father.

Due to my lack of insight

I caused trouble for you.

There's no words to express the dishonor I brought as a son.

If you help me this one time,

I will pay back your grace ten- or twenty-fold.

Please help me, father.

Why did you get involved in a resort project and take the hit?

How is the likes of you going to pay me back ten- or twenty-fold?

It's not a resort.

I have a big plan in that area, one that others can't even fathom.

Please support me with the management defense fund.

I will protect Taesung Hitech and make this business successful.

Meaningless expenditure and meaningless news,

you truly are an inferior.

Father, please help me.

The heir of one of Korea's greatest companies:

Taesung Group's Kwon Joo Han's position is being threatened.

[Taesung High Tech in Management Crisis]

Due to purchasing of Taesung High Tech's holdings and shareholders' complaints,

the second largest shareholder, Mirae Fund

declared to partake in Taesung High Tech's corporate management.

During the shareholders' meeting, Managing Director Kwon...

We can't leave Kang San Hyeok alone.

We can no longer just watch what he does. There's no time left.

We're looking for him.

Please wait a bit longer.

For now, this is the information about Nasung development.

After going into Miryeong,

Kang San Hyeok is documented to have left RLI.

All businesses have been placed under his right wing man, Park Hyeong Soo.

When he leaves the special rescue team after

wrapping up all the foundational work,

he wants to get his director position at RLI, huh?

The important thing is, currently Kang San

Hyeok has no power according to the documents.

Regarding the development of Miryeong forest,

Kang San Hyeok does not exist according to the law.

A 'ghost' that does not exist according to the law...

What's up? How come you came to see me?

You know the Miryeong village water quality analysis?

You said you've done it every year, right?

What about it?

Were any metalloids found by any chance?

Metalloids? Why all of a sudden?

If such a thing were found, we would have disposed of it right away.

Would we have left it in the groundwater?

By chance, did Daewon Bio conduct all the water quality analysis?

They're the only vendor near Miryeong county.

What's going on?

I need to do more research, but I think there's something going on.

We should do further research by reporting to the higher-ups.

That weird hole that was in Miryeong mountain in the past,

you said it suddenly disappeared after you reported it, right?

Don't tell anyone else yet. T least not til things are made clear.

Just stop the people in the village who are still using the groundwater.

They'll listen to you if you tell them the county office is shutting it down.

Nomination

You just need to submit an application as a formality

Gangwondo Governor Baek Myeong Ho

You already have the nomination.

So once you submit the application, you're the proportional representative.

You know better. Why are you doing this?

It's a district assemblyman position.

There. Happy?

Real Estate Sales Contract

When the contract on all the residents' land is completed,

I'll exchange it with this recommendation letter then.

You'll have to get their signature stamps soon.

The deadline to submit the candidate application isn't too far off.

Fine.

I'll have to rush it if I want to put a gold badge.

Would you hand me that blue file over there?

There's no reason to put such an old picture there.

Then that means, it was to test my reaction?

They found out who I am.

Yeah.

Everything is done here. How about there?

I made the things you ordered and distributed them to the reporters.

Kwon Joo Han is preoccupied with trying to gather funds to

purchase the rest of the shares and to win over the shareholders.

Now that we have President Choi's land, I can truly see the end.

It's not over til the end.

I'll go to Nasung and go over the things to talk about, so come immediately.

Okay! I am going right now!

What is this?

Ouch! It hurts!

I wanted to meet you once, and to think we meet this way

Nasung development's Director Park Hyeong Soo.

Your face doesn't look as well as it did at the shareholder's meeting.

You looked so joyous then.

What are you doing?

You have been assisting Kang San Hyeok since you entered RLI, right?

I heard Director Kang's salary and bonus are above and

beyond the highest in the industry and truly astronomical.

For him to produce such results,

I understand you played a crucial role in that.

Did you receive compensation that is equivalent to that?

Why don't you get to the point?

Please help us.

We'll give you everything that Director Kang San Hyeok has been taking.

You're taking away time from a busy person over such a useless thing.

Please don't come looking for me over stuff like this.

It's 100 billion won.

I'll give you 100 billion won for coming over and working with us.

When Miryeong Forest project is completed,

I'll give you an additional 100 billion won as an incentive.

Please think it over carefully.

Not as a mere director at an investment firm, but

Taesung Group Managing Director Kwon Joo Han's

right hand.

What are your terms?

The phone you are calling is turned off. Please call again at a later time.

Hand over Nasung development and Miryeong forest to us.

All the documents are in your name and Kang San Hyeok has no power legally.

How should I trust Director Kwon Joo Han and Jo Kwang Pil?

You continuously followed Director Kang San Hyeok and me.

And not only did you set up a hidden camera in our homes,

but you also broke Nasung development's walls and stole the safe.

To you people that commits these crimes like it's nothing,

how would I play such a big part not even knowing what you'll do to me?

That's how I deal with my enemies.

I can go even further than that.

But if you become part of our family, you will receive such help from me.

Transfer Contract

Let's work together.

I will change your life.

If I hand over Nasung Development,

will I really become Taesung Group Kwon Joo Han's

right hand man?

That's right.

Sign here.

I will stamp my fingerprint.

Finger one.

Finger two.

Double fingers.

You'll give me 100 million dollars?

You talk as if you're getting Mansour's card loan.

Of all people to believe in this world,

do you think I'll believe someone who murders and frames it as suicide?

Enough of this.

What?

Hold your hand? (aka take your side)

How ridiculous.

I live off of my director's good looking face.

Do you think after looking at Kang San Hyeok's face,

that I'll be able to side with your face?

The gap is too much.

No conscience..

No conscience...!

Go look for him.

I just gave a taste of what happens

if you mess with someone you shouldn't touch.

Hyeong Soo!

Hyeong Soo, Park Hyeong Soo!

Hyeong Soo!

Yeah?

Me? I'm...

I'm going over to the village center to take care of something.

Hello?

What kind of jerk is this guy?

Oh gosh, this diarrhea.

Oh my gosh.

Can I really go inside?

What if Director Choi comes?

Once he goes into the village, he takes the whole day

concerning himself with every little thing that's going on.

Don't worry and come inside.

Then, since we already exchanged our passwords,

should I take this chance to explore?

Wow it's amazing!

Actually,

I wanted to have you in my space.

To tell you the truth,

I imagined the place everyday.

Your room.

This way.

This is your room?

So it looks like this!

Have a seat.

Should I?

We...

I got a muscle cramp!

Are you okay? Where?

- On top of there. - Here?

- No, more to the top - Here?

You...

you!

Run!

Run away!

How dare you slap my hand away?

Huh?! Huh?!

Stop right there!

You better stop!

Wow you're so harsh with your words!

If you're talking about crazy, I'm the crazier one.

You're originally crazy! Your hands,

- let go of your hands! - No, I won't!

You crazy wench!

I don't want to!

You, you crazy! Hey!!

Give me my son back!

Are you awake?

My fingerprint...

they stamped it...

Nasung development...

I will take care of it.

Don't think about work and focus on getting better.

Clothes...

M..y p..h..o..n..e

What?

In my clothes,

my phone!

My head...

hurts so much..

There's my Naseong Development phone...

What are the conditions?

How should I trust Director Kwon Joo Han and Jo Kwang Pil?

You continuously followed Director Kang San Hyeok and me.

And not only did you set up a hidden camera in our homes,

but you also broke Nasung development's walls and stole the safe.

To you people that commits these crimes like it's nothing,

how would I play such a big part not even knowing what you'll do to me?

That's how I deal with my enemies.

I can even go further than that.

I have two conditions.

Nasung Development's contract,

give it to me.

Managing Director Kwon Joo Han who is found

to have collaborated with organized crime...

if the news finds out about this,

will you be able to protect your position in Taesung Hitech?

I'll lend great help to him who is preoccupied with gathering his shares.

Director Jo Kwang Pil.

Transfer Agreement

If you ask the professional, you'll find out we didn't manipulate the recording.

Just know that you missed the timing on stopping.

You'll pay for not having stopped for sure.

Second condition.

It looks nice. Give it to me.

How dare you mess with my man.

A dog bit a man, so your owner should be held responsible.

Anticipate.

An eye for an eye.

A thuggish move for another thuggish move.

Hello?

Sorry. Something urgent came up at the office.

You were worried since I was out of touch, huh?

I'm not a kid. I know you're a busy man.

Where are you? You must be somewhere noisy.

I had to take care of something after work.

But when are you done with that job?

I think it'll take a bit longer.

Why? Is something going on?

There's nothing much going on.

- I'll call you later. - Okay.

Do you need tomorrow off as well?

I forgot all about Team Leader Jeong Byeong Yeong

of Unam Rescue Team's transfer of duties ceremony.

Can you switch your day with me?

Team Leader Jeong Byeong Yeong's transfer of duties?

It was posted on the site. Didn't you know?

Due to his age, emergency dispatch is dangerous for him.

So the fire school asked him to be an instructor.

I'd like to attend his ceremony.

I'm sorry, Sunbaenim.

I have to use my day off tomorrow for an important matter.

Why are you buying me clothes?

I know you won't like it.

I know, but your father is also my sunbaenim whom I respect.

On the day of my sunbaenim's transfer of duties ceremony,

I want my woman to go looking beautiful.

So, please oblige.

You're a total expert. Total player.

"Father, my woman..."

What? You don't like it?

I didn't say that.

All right then.

I'll let you get me just one outfit.

Instead, something I can purchase with my paycheck.

Okay?

Yes, ma'am.

How about that one?

That one?

Why?

Over here. On sale

So pretty. Such a pretty color.

can I tell the police what happened 25 years ago?

I think there's metal poisoning in the areas surrounding Miryeong Mountain.

I'll have to dig into that land.

Did you see the same thing somewhere?

Kang San Hyeok! Kang San Hyeok, wake up!

Just remember that.

I'll never let Jeong Yeong Jae die alone.

Get rid of that woman quickly.

Jeong Yeong Jae, you're under arrest.
