A River Runs Through It

Episode 28 I have a secret to tell you

What's the point of

having many people who like me?

The person I like

seems

would never look back at me.

Do you have someone you like?

Who's that?

I swear

I won't tell anyone.

Why are you looking at me like this?

The one you like is me?

What if I really like you?

Stop kidding me.

We are brothers.

How could

you like me?

You said this without thinking.

Do you really

like me?

Xia Xiaoju.

You think too much.

How could I like you?

How could I like

someone who is not

like a girl at all?

I just wanted to tell you that

I have two pharmacology

classes with Mr. Li tomorrow morning.

I can't be late,

or I will fail the course.

Why didn't you say it earlier?

It just occurred to me.

Let's go.

Come on.

Hurry back to school.

My legs hurt so much.

Let's go.

My god. I am exhausted.

And my legs hurt.

Shall we find a place

to rest?

No way. You have to go to class

tomorrow morning.

Let's walk back.

The worst case is not

going to sleep all night.

Thank you, sir.

Here, take the flashlight.

-Go to rest. -Thank you, sir.

Take care.

Take the flashlight.

This bicycle

doesn't even have a bell.

The brake still works.

Get on the bike.

Hold on.

Will this bike fall apart?

I am leaving.

Hold on.

Let's go.

Hold me tight.

Xia Xiaoju, you should lose weight.

I am not fat.

Focus.

Can you ride a bicycle?

Hold me tight.

Such beautiful stars.

I haven't seen such beautiful stars

since I moved to the city.

Stop kidding.

We are brothers.

How could you like me?

Dowdy.

Have you ever seen

such beautiful stars?

Dowdy.

Dowdy.

Dowdy. Stop.

Dowdy.

If I didn't stop you,

we would both have fallen into the ditch.

What are you thinking?

There are pits on this road.

Were you distracted?

I wasn't.

Your didn't light the road clearly.

Let's go.

Hello, Cheng Le.

How were you leading the group today?

Was it going well?

The bus drove away.

I am on my way back to school

by bike.

You haven't been back yet?

Hard to say.

My phone is almost out of power.

I will tell you in class tomorrow.

Where are you now?

I'll take a taxi to pick you up.

It's not safe for you

to be out alone so late.

It's okay.

My friend is

with me now.

We will be back

around ten thirty.

Hello.

It's really dead.

I didn't expect that

he cares about you.

Well, it's because

I am hard to resist.

You do have a misunderstanding of yourself.

Would you get on the bike?

If we delay any longer, we won't be able to get to

the dorm before half past ten.

You won't ride into a ditch anymore, will you?

Go or not?

Let's go.

Take care.

Don't ride on the stones.

There are so many stones here.

If you keep bumping like this,

the bike will fall apart.

Shut your mouth, crow.

Or the bike will really fall apart.

Sit well.

We are finally back before the dorm closes.

Dowdy, hard work for you.

Any reward?

Reward for what?

Hurry up. I am so tired.

Xiaoju.

Chang Le, why are you here?

Have you been

waiting for me here?

No, I just stopped by.

And I saw you came back.

What a coincidence.

Well, I am back.

Don't worry.

And it's late now.

Go back to rest.

Okay, I am leaving.

Go to bed early.

Bye.

Bye.

Xia Xiaoju, you're fat, go back to the dorm.

It will be closed soon.

Look at you.

I wish you could be

as gentle as Chang Le.

Hey, I rode all the way

to send you back.

I'm so exhausted.

He just stood here waiting for you a while.

And he is gentle?

He is gentle and considerate.

But you belittle me and get angry at me.

Ask yourself.

Are you gentle?

You're leaving so soon?

Be careful.

Lu Shiyi. Lu Shiyi. Lu…

Why did you come back so late?

I just had something to do.

Why are you here so late?

Lu Shiyi.

Since I went to the internship,

we haven't seen each other for months.

We two finally meet once.

Why do you have a long face?

Anyway

I am a girl.

What's up?

We have a graduation party

on Sunday.

I want to invite you

to join me.

I will graduate and leave school soon.

I don't know if we will meet again in the future.

Are you going to

refuse my

tiny request?

I am not rejecting you.

I should have something that day.

I can't be there, so…

Well, the ticket is for you.

If you aren't available,

just forget it.

I hope you to be there anyway.

Okay, go to bed early.

Lu Shiyi.

You like Xia Xiaoju, right?

I also know that you haven't confessed your love to her yet.

You should come to the party.

Otherwise, what if I tell her

this secret?

Go to bed early.

I said I didn't look at her.

All right.

I won't explain to you, okay?

Let's break up.

Don't scare me with this.

I can't find a girlfriend without you?

Is Xu Menglu

crazy?

Qiu Letao walked past me.

Unless I am blind, I would definitely see her.

Xu Menglu is jealous

because of this.

Is she crazy?

You asked for this.

I asked for this?

Letao passes in front of me.

I looked at her.

I still can't forget her.

Do you still like Letao?

I always do.

Even after we broke up.

What about Xu Menglu?

Let me tell you, man.

Reality is not fiction.

You can only like one person.

Choose between

Letao and Xu Menglu.

Who would you choose?

Say something.

All right, you deserve it.

Who are you sending messages to?

It's a secret.

Secret?

Huang Jun?

How come?

Huang Jun is just a fragment

of my youth.

We are over.

I have nothing to do with him now.

A fragment of youth.

This sentence is good. Unbuttoned.

I will write it into my novel.

Writer Gui.

Now your novel

is very popular

on the campus network.

Don't forget to

pay me the copyright fee.

If my novel can really be published,

you have my words.

Have you heard that

Faculty of Medicine will hold

a graduation party soon?

In addition to their own activities at the graduation party,

some other departments

and societies

will also be invited to perform.

Shall we give it a try

and join the fun?

Why is no one

in our department

preparing for such a good event?

Think about it. Faculty of Medicine

lasts five years.

They are finally going to graduate.

Their feeling of going to school for one more year

is unmatched by ordinary departments.

It is indeed understandable.

By the way, Xiaoju.

We will graduate soon.

Shiyi has to study another year.

Should we

prepare a gift

to encourage him?

Do you think

he lacks gifts?

Chang Le?

Isn't he the hunk

of Xia Xiaoju's department?

Why are you searching for him?

You finally find that Chang Le treats Xia Xiaoju differently.

I had long discovered

that the way he looks at her is special.

You are so dull.

Why didn't tell me earlier?

There's still time to say it now.

Think about it.

Xia Xiaoju will graduate soon.

After graduation,

she will go to work in society.

She is different from you.

The Department of Medicine is a five-year system.

After that, you will have to study for master's and doctoral.

She works in society,

and you study in school.

The time for you to be

together is getting less and less.

What's more,

Xia Xiaoju has a nice personality

and appearance.

Maybe she will be with others.

I know

you are just afraid that

Xia Xiaoju doesn't like you.

In case you confess,

you won't even able to be friends.

Man.

I thought of a good way for you.

This week,

you should ask Xia Xiaoju to go to the movies.

Arrive later.

Go in after the movie starts.

By then,

it would be dark inside

and hard to find your seats.

You could hold Xia Xiaoju's hand

by the way.

You two keep holding hands.

Of course,

if she lets go of her hand,

never mind.

It simply means that

you have no chance.

If…

If she doesn't let go,

it means you have a chance.

You just have to take the initiative.

What about

my plan?

Not good.

You should have a try.

If you don't even dare to try,

she will be with Chang Le sooner or later.

Don't talk nonsense.

Why are you kicking me?

Why are you looking at me like this?

The one you like is me?

What if

I do like you?

Why didn't you

pull me?

Pull you?

Are you poo?

Why should I pull you?

I would rather like a pig than you.

No way.

I must be thinking too much.

How did you prepare for the exam this time?

Lin You.

Lin You.

Xiaoju, Letao.

Your class is over?

Are you going to dance?

I have to go see Cheng Lang first.

There was a huge bug

in the school net yesterday.

He repaired it

and stayed up all night.

I will buy him breakfast.

You haven't seen him

for only one night, and you miss him?

You have been together for so long.

Are you still so sweet?

Who says that an old couple

can't be gushy anymore?

Okay.

Then we are going to class first.

All right, go.

Bye.

By the way,

ask the teacher

for a time off for me.

You still can't let go?

They have been together for two years.

I let go a long time ago.

I'm just a little uncomfortable.

But it's okay. Let's go.

You

should fall in love.

This is the best way

to let go.

Why fall in love?

It's time for class. Let's go.

You! Hey!

Why do you never

listen to me?

Cheng Lang, I am going to play basketball.

All right.

Lin You is here.

Lin You.

I brought you breakfast.

Is the bug fixed?

It can be accessed normally.

Why didn't you go to the dance studio for class today?

I took half an hour off.

I brought you two things.

One is breakfast.

And the other…

Guess what it is?

Let me think.

The other one should be

a girlfriend

who is kind to me

and loves me, right?

These love letters have been

delivered to our classroom.

They should have done their homework in advance.

Do they think that since

you often go to the computer classroom,

so you are of the computer department?

Really?

Still reading?

Do you want

to contact any of them?

These letters can't compare with

the breakfast my girlfriend brought.

Let me see what you bought.

Your desk is such a mess.

Eggs, soy milk, and…

Cheng Lang, come and have a look.

What's up?

These are the materials

I asked my friend abroad to organize.

There are rankings

and examination requirements from

the computer dept. in various universities around the world.

With your current conditions,

I think there should be no problem with your application.

Lin You.

Despite of the domestic Internet bubble,

I still think

it is a stock with great potential for development.

Besides,

if I am going to study abroad,

what about you?

What if I go with you?

What do you mean?

Let's talk about it after the graduation

party of the Faculty of Medicine tonight.

Xiaoju.

You have an admission ticket to

the graduation party of the Faculty of Medicine.

Go with me.

Xia Xiaoju.

Why are you still here?

Won't you eat lunch?

Let's go.

I will eat later.

Why are you here?

I…

Are you free this Sunday?

I would like to watch the new movie

"Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon".

I heard it is good.

I just promised Chang Le

to go to the graduation party of the Faculty of Medicine.

Go watch it yourself.

And tell me

if it's worth watching.

It's the graduation party of the Faculty of Medicine.

You are from the Faculty of Tourism.

What does it have to do with you?

It's difficult to refuse such kindness of a friend.

Xiaoju.

You can ask Letao and others to come along.

Sure.

They are

very interested.

Sorry.

No more tickets.

Otherwise,

I would ask you to join us.

I'm not as free as you.

Lu Shiyi, where are you going?

Xiaoju, give them to your roommates.

Thank you.

Shiyi. Shiyi. Shiyi.

Listen.

Do you know who is going

to attend the graduation party?

I don't care.

Does it have anything to do with me?

I have heard from my friend that

Chang Le will sing on stage

and confess his love.

What?

No wonder he

asked Xia Xiaoju.

It turns out he has such a plan.

Hurry up.

Or the opportunity will be snatched away by him.

Before fighting,

you should know your opponent.

Is that okay?

Have you finished there?

Done.

Shiyi.

I will talk to you later.

Lu Shiyi.

Why are you here so early?

The party hasn't started yet.

I just came to see

if Huang Jun needs any help.

I will be with you.

Okay.

I will take you to my classmates.

They are all decorating.

Not necessary.

I'll just find a place

to sit for a while.

Sure.

How about here?

Is it well arranged?

Yes.

The atmosphere is pretty good.

Have you heard that

the hunk the Faculty of Tourism will take

this opportunity to sing

a love song to a girl?

It must be very lively then.

No.

If a boy is willing to sing a love song

to me on this stage,

I will immediately

agree to be his girlfriend.

What if that girl

doesn't like him?

Or what if someone is one step ahead of him?

What do you mean?

Nothing.

It turns out,

that's your intention.

I thought you

came because of me.

Sorry.

I should have made myself clear at the beginning.

It's too late.

Hold on.

Tell the host to change the song.

Beyond's “Like You”.

Now?

Wait.

Are you going to sing to Qiu Letao?

Menglu would be angry.

No more nonsense.

Just change it.

Get yourselves prepared.

Come on.

Letao.

Letao.

Why are you here?

Let's go.

I have something to tell you.

Let me go.

What are you doing?

I do have something.

I have something important to tell you.

Go ahead.

I can only

tell you alone.

Just two minutes.

Xiaoju.

Go hang around

with Chang Le.

I will be back soon.

Don't worry.

Let's go.

What are you doing?

I'm going abroad soon.

I don't want to be embarrassed today.

Okay?

What's up?

Our band will perform soon.

The fourth show.

Come and watch.

Okay.

I wish you success in your performance.

That's it?

Why did you ask me out?

Hold on, one more thing.

Say it.

Shiyi likes Xiaoju.

But he is too say to say it.

Shall we be the matchmakers

and collaborate to

fix them up?

Shiyi likes Xiaoju?

Yes.

Since freshman year.

But he has

been embarrassed to say it.

Shall we

do him a favor?

Forget it.

I don't want to meddle in

others' private affairs.

Hello. Hold on.

I will talk to you

in a quiet place.

I miss you too.

I received

everything you sent me.

I like them so much.

There is a party.

Yes.

Welcome everyone to

the graduation party

of the Faculty of Medicine.

This will be

the last carnival

for medical undergraduates.

I believe that

you can't wait.

Now let's

start the carnival.

Let's go.

Let's dance.

I can't dance. You should go.

Dance with me.

I can't dance.

Let's go.

Everyone is dancing.

Let's go.

Come on.

Come on.

Forward.

Backward.

Backward.

Left.

Left.

Right.

Right.

Be at will. Relax.

Okay.

Be concentrated.

Where are you going?

Great!

You danced so well. I mean it.

Really?

You are telling a bare-faced lie.

How could you say that?

She is dancing

like a dumb penguin.

You are really so hypocritical.

So hypocritical.

Mind your words.

You are like a penguin.

Senior.

Please take care of your junior.

What do you expect from a pig but a grunt?

Say that again.

Say that again.

Xia Xiaoju.

I say you are like a penguin

because you are cute.

Stop it!

Girls all like

charming,

gentle and polite boys.

You laughed at her like this,

how could she like you?

Calm down.

He has a rough tongue.

A cheerful song

just ended.

Next,

let's welcome

Chang Le, hunk the Faculty of Tourism

to bring us a tender love song.

Welcome.

You have a performance?

Please bear with

my voice.

Come here.

Listen to me singing.

Okay.

He is about to confess.

Thank you all.

I am very happy

and honored

to attend the graduation party

of the Faculty of Medicine.

I am Chang Le from the Faculty of Tourism.

I will bring you a love song.

He is Chang Le.

The happiest thing about college

is when I was in my sophomore year…

What are you doing?

-Let me go. -No.

Would you cut it out?

Stop following me.

Letao. Letao.

Who I am calling has nothing to do with you.

Letao. Letao. Letao.

Will you cut it out?

Who do you think you are?

You are not entitled to interfere my business.

All right.

Don't show up in front of me.

You make me sick.

Tao.

Tao.

What are you laughing at?

What are you laughing at?

Enough. Enough.

And you.

What love song?!

Let's go.

You!

Where are you going?

We still have a performance.

Yes, we do.

I quit. I quit.

Wait.

Tao.

He was the one who cheated on me.

Now he comes to me again.

He is just a playboy.

Qiu Letao, listen.

Don't care about him anymore.

Right, I won't be mad.

I won't be mad.

I can't ruin my mood for today

just because of a mouse dung.

I am fine.

You should go back.

Won't you go back?

I won't.

I just want to go home now.

All right, you just go.

Don't leave

Chang Le alone.

Be good.

Bye.

Xiaoju.

Xiaoju.

How is Letao?

Go back and tell Huang Jun

to stay as far away

from Qiu Letao as possible.

He is already with Xu Menglu.

Why did he come

to Qiu Letao again?

What the hell does he want?

I will tell him.

But he may not listen to me.

Are you hurt?

I'm fine.

If she lets go of her hand,

It simply means that

you have no chance.

Xue.

How is your application for study abroad?

My application

was rejected.

I should have

worked harder

and danced

better than now.

Why do you want to go abroad so much?

As if you didn't want to.

Everyone in the dance major wants to study abroad.

Dance major

can also apply to study abroad?

Yes.

Dance faculty and foreign universities

have places for exchange students every year.

Two every year.

Does Lin You have a chance?

She is

professor's favorite.

She is the best dancer

in the dance major.

She will definitely pass.

But Talent Cheng.

Are you willing to?

I…

What are you talking about so happily?

Hello, senior.

We are talking about

your Talent Cheng.

Senior.

The next is our turn.

Go get changed.

Okay, hurry up.

Lin You.

You have the opportunity to study abroad?

Yes, but

it depends on how

my boyfriend thinks of it.

Focus on your performance first.

Let's talk about this

after your performance.

In the future,

don't you dare to flirt

with other girls.

I…

I didn't!

Lu Shiyi.

This is your last chance.

What are you doing?

Where are you going?

It's none of your business.

Are you not afraid

that I will

tell others that you like Xia Xiaoju?

I am going to tell her.

Don't you…

Don't you

give a second thought about me?

Thank you for your affection to me.

You are a good girl.

But

as you know…

Feelings cannot be forced.

I can't change my mind.

It can't be forced. Thank you.

Go confess to Xia Xiaoju.

Where is Huang Jun?

Is your friend okay?

She's fine.

All right.

Be happy then.

Your friend certainly

doesn't want you

to worry about her.

You are right.

I shouldn't ruin my mood because of

a mouse dung.

Sorry.

I missed your song.

Never mind.

I have asked them

to postpone the show.

Because this song

is dedicated to you.

Xia Xiaoju, come with me.

-What are you doing? -Xiaoju. -Let me go.

Let me go.
