a powerful tropical storm.

After significant damage to
their coastal camp...

took advantage of

a break in the weather...

[Adam] We're setting off
into the unknown.

...and pushed inland to find
a safer camp...

If we stay here, we're done.

So, at least we stand a chance
by moving in.

[Adam] We're still yet to find
an ideal location.

Us staying where we were,
especially with the typhoon

rolling in, it could have been
so much worse.

So the fact that we are here,

So, I have to start thinking
positively and how we're

gonna make it work.

I've been swimming in
that water every day.

I don't know where the concern
of feet in the water just

came from so much.

get us to new land

By land, the abandoned camp
lies one mile away through

thick mangrove swamps.

By taking the raft
a quarter mile down the coast,

they hope to access it

more easily by walking upriver

from a small beachhead.

Heading out to what we believe
is deep water.

Oh, on a rock.

Like, we need to go deeper,
there's rocks here.

[Jamie]
Turns out there's no deep
water at all, so we're just

having to, like, push
with the sticks.

Make sure there's
no jellyfish.

When you grow up in the city,

you're not scared
of a jellyfish.

I'm more scared of a Glock.

[Dani] I never want anyone
to feel a box jellyfish sting,

even my worst enemy.

I am in so much pain,
I can't even describe.

And I think if Jarrell
recognized the severity of it,

he would be more considerate.

We're not about to go nowhere

We're trying to push it

and it's just too heavy.

the most intense storm yet.

The traps are gone...

but I'd rather be hungry
than shivering and freezing.

So I'm bringing some
palm fronds to make sure

our shelter is waterproof.

on the island across from us,
half cut off.

think that we may find

other survivalists, find other

That makes me really want to
hustle to get off this island

to go check it out.

We're going to have to build
one hell of a raft to cross

this ocean though, man.

To get fire last night,
that was crazy.

I mean, it was rough
with the fire.

I can't imagine without.

Honestly, I think we're

the jungle, it's more of

a rest stop than
a permanent location.

You know, Mandy and I are
completely tapped out.

We're going to try to make
this place work, try to collect

whatever resources we can,
top up the fuel tank

a little bit before we
keep on moving.

So that's a little bit old,
that's not completely fresh,

but that is a pig track
or a boar track.

And that's what
I'm looking for.

You can see where the grass

and the plants being disturbed,
passing through...

like a small tunnel, almost.

These are little game highways
or pig highways where

the animals like to
cross through.

I think this might be the spot
to set a snare.

Back home in Australia,
I love catching pigs.

I'm pretty good at it.
I'm gonna set up a trap...

put the spring in, should be
pretty secure, I hope.

I'll put this down.

I'll attach a locking mechanism
to a stick.

Adam's spring snare uses
a flexible pole bent

under tension, tied to
a ground-level trigger set on

a fixed noose loop set in
the boar's path.

When the boar steps on
the trigger plate, it springs

the trap and the noose
cinches tight around the leg.

[Adam] And placing these extra
broken sticks on top.

So, when the pig stands on
the mechanism, it has

more surface area for it
to trigger the trap.

All right, the snare is set.

And when I come back,

that's when things
get interesting.

[Malu] The winds were so furious
and mad at us last night.

[Darrin] But at least we built
an awesome freaking shelter.

Yep.

Malu, Ana Lis,
and Darrin have built

a waterproof
raised-platform shelter...

[Malu] It's raining down,
and I'd just rather be secure

than sorry later.

...and a 300-foot aqueduct
system.

[Darrin] We just got to engineer
this one piece at a time.

all day long.

But they have yet to secure

a significant source
of protein.

[Darrin] You can live off
coconuts for a long time,

but your body will
eventually deplete.

[Ana Lis] I'm hungry.

I need meat.

[Darrin] You want to stand on
that end for me?

We haven't really had more
than a couple ounces of protein

combined and energy levels
are waning.

All the fish close to the shore
are small

and they disappear
into the seaweed

growing off
the dead coral.

I want to get out in
the deep water

where the actual
fish are.

So, I'm thinking about building
a little boat, starting to

trim up pieces and gather
my materials right now.

Darrin's plan is to build
a fishing vessel from

six bamboo poles
lashed together

to form a narrow deck.

Three life rings will be
secured underneath to provide

additional flotation,
while side outriggers will help

stabilize the craft
in open water.

[Darrin]
I brought a climbing rope
as my survival item on this.

Unfortunately, this is
a dynamic climbing rope,

so it stretches way too much
if you don't pull the core out.

I'll only be using the sheath
to lash this together.

I was a rock climber for
many, many years of my life,

and I trust my life to those
ropes on the rocks.

And now I'm trusting my life
to that rope on the water.

-[sighs]

[Ana Lis] Ah, I'm frustrated.

My stomach needs meat.

[Malu] I think you should
go hunting today.

[Ana Lis] Mm...

of swamp taro.

I'm scouting this area,
I immediately see swamp taro.

I have learned about this.
I've read about it,

and we can eat that.

Then when you dig into it,
you can find an edible root.

Should go for a big one
and get some of that root, man.

Known as the potato of
the tropics, swamp taro is

rich in carbs and starches.

It is poisonous raw,
but sweet and nutty

when cooked.

we try to get some food

There's maybe some bigger fish.

I haven't seen them,
but I'm assuming there are

if there's little fish.

I eat with my hands,
drink out the pot like a man.

I came out here to survive.

I didn't come out here
for teas and crumpets.

Hunting in the Philippines is
super different than

in Argentina,
especially because in Argentina

I know
where to go.

Here, I'm improvising.

I see a black-banded sea krait.

I know they are super venomous,

but it's meat, it's edible.
