On two remote islands in the Philippines...

with long histories of shipwrecks

and mysterious disappearances...

I'm starting to feel like this place is really cursed.

partial pieces of a map...

And we didn't know if we'd be here alone the whole time.

We've been struggling, I can tell you that.

I don't know what happened, but they are super skinny.

It's obvious they suffered much more than us.

I still can't believe we're with other people now.

We had a huge typhoon wipe us out.

It was seriously the hardest thing I've ever done

in my entire life. - We were trying to get food.

It didn't happen.

Well, I don't have much food to offer, but I got

plenty of coconut.

The only thing our camp's missing is a source of protein,

and Adam and Amanda just brought

the assets we needed-- fishing hooks.

You gotta see our water system.

- Wow. - We were having to go,

like, way up into the jungle to get water.

Look at that, that's absolutely awesome.

Got a nice little spring in camp now.

- That's impressive. - Oh, wow.

- Quite the engineer, mate. - That's amazing.

It's just really exciting.

Going off the map, I was scared,

and that jungle was hell.

But we took that risk and it has paid off.

I'm speechless right now.

We're so grateful.

It feels like paradise right now.

We're grateful, too.

I do have a question. Do you have your map?

That's a whole top half of the map.

By joining their partial maps, the two teams can now see

the upper half of the 20-square-mile challenge area

but will still need to add the other pieces for details to

figure out their rescue.

This is exciting.

- Someone's got to be over here. - Right.

Eventually, we're probably going to have to get out of

here and head towards the unknown parts of that map.

Well, yeah, we're all shipwrecked together.

But I guess with our heads combined and our resources

and your resources, we're one step closer to figuring

this thing out. - Yeah.

We made it to the farmhouse.

Oh my gosh, it is so nice here.

It really is like a farmhouse.

You just hear birds and nature and ambience.

It's definitely more vegetarian-friendly out here.

We've got swamp taro, we've got coconuts,

we've got bananas, we've got water.

Have a little shrimp dinner.

One little bite of protein.

I came across a broken fish trap,

and I want to fix it up

a little bit to repurpose for catching some shrimp.

I just have to, like, weave the hole smaller.

Just wrap it in the mosquito net, maybe?

After deciding to move inland to a resource-rich area...

...tensions continue to escalate between Jarrell

and his teammates.

This is something I've never done before, and it feels

really good to have acquired something new.

Well, since we literally got to this area, I was like,

"Man, I want to get these traps and catch a freshwater shrimp,"

and for some reason now, Dani's doing it.

She wants to catch shrimp now.

I swear she's just doing it to annoy the [bleep] out of me,

and I am annoyed.

It's OK.

I'm gonna make a net and catch these freshwater shrimp.

Shrimp love coconut.

By hanging the coconut from the center, my hope is that

the shrimp will be forced to come inside.

With Dani, it's been tough, I'm not gonna lie.

She's a legend, but also her survival

tactics are very different than mine.

Can you believe it?

The vegetarian is going to catch us shrimp.

Should I put it right where the sticks are?

Right underneath, aye.

The vegan is trying to catch the freshwater shrimp,

but it doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

- How deep do you think? - Yeah, just there will do.

Surviving out here with Jarrell, I feel tension.

Everything I try to do is, like, a problem.

So my hope is, by catching shrimp, that everyone is happy

today, and we can work as a team, and everything will

be nice. - Perfect.

A nice passive way to potentially get food.

Being in the middle of my teammates

leaves me in a bit of a hard situation.

It's difficult.

But right now, I'm just cracking on with work.

So, I'm just getting these straight--

straight trees here for an arapuca trap.

A primitive arapuca trap is made of sticks,

stacked and tied into a pyramid-shaped cage,

which is then propped up and baited.

When a small animal or bird disturbs the bait, it triggers

the stick, causing the cage to fall and trap the prey.

I'm hoping to trap anything that will fit in it,

a bird, a lizard.

Looks good, man.

Now, they are almost two miles

into their three-mile open ocean crossing,

pushing through deep waters, where aggressive tiger sharks

ambush their prey from below with bursts of speed

up to 20 miles per hour.

Damn, dude, we are getting out here to open ocean.

I know, I'm getting sketched out

because all I see is

the black of the depths.

Honestly, I have not really liked Patrick very much

throughout a majority of this survival situation

we've been on together.

We met some great teammates.

Positive vibes, that's what you came across.

I've got to say that I'm really liking this new group dynamic.

It definitely breathes some new life into this,

you know, 35-day challenge.

What are the resources like?

We've been calling this the Venomous Cove.

I got stung here by a box jellyfish.

Oh, damn.

Oh, wow, that happened out here?

Like, probably 40 feet from where we're sitting right now.

- OK. - Wow.

It was really scary, and I'm fortunate that it was

on my limb and not near visceral organs

or anything like that.

And Jarrell had an encounter with a venomous sea krait.

So, mostly just right in front of here?

Over there, sort of in the bay.

- Uh-huh. - You just really need to pay attention.

- Yeah. - I mean, I still go in the water.

- Yeah. - You just need to really look.

I'm still going to, but, yeah,

it makes me more trepidatious.

I want to fish the [bleep] out of this.

Jamie and Dani have named this place Venomous Cove,

but I'm the legend slayer.

You know, I'm probably the most experienced survivalist of both

of these teams put together.

And there's just so many resources in this water.

He just doesn't get it.

Venomous Cove is no joke.

Yeah.

So many things that can hurt you and kill you, and right now

these waters are infested with stingrays.

As coastal temperatures rise in the spring, stingrays become

more active and migrate near shore,

where the shallow waters

provide an ideal environment to mate and reproduce.

There's danger under every foot, literally.

Stingrays are masters of camouflage, which just means

we've got to be extra careful.

To avoid detection from predators, stingrays bury

themselves in the sand, where one lightning-fast strike

from their tail sends a razor-sharp venomous barb

into anything it perceives as a threat.

Every single step out here is a calculated risk.

But when you're the legend slayer...

you fear nothing.

Gotta get this done.

These waters, you have to walk very carefully.

So many things that can hurt you and kill you.

And right now these waters are infested with stingrays.

The wind's picking up right now.

When the wind disturbs the water like this,

it's the most dangerous.

It's hard to tell where they could be

and where they're not.

So, I have to be real careful not to move too quickly

and get stung by a stingray or a snake.

Hmm. Ooh.

Nope, it's just a piece of seaweed.

The ripple in the sun on the water...

is messing with my visibility.

Sometimes you gotta know just when to turn back.

So I'm gonna work my way in, but I will be back.

I hardly had any sleep last night.

came over here and got materials, brought them back,

because the mosquitoes were only out for a tiny bit over

to shrink in the shelter within the shelter.

the same type of shelter with the shingles so the mosquitoes

have a hard time getting in.

The one good thing that came away with the divorce is,

you know, been majority rules, two to one.

Now, there's only one.

So, if I want to renovate the shelter and build a little

loft for myself, I can.

That is looking pretty good.

There's some sheet metal laying around, I might...

wedge that in there.

So, yeah, my plan with the metal there is maybe even

laying down the sheet metal

against my shelter.

The fire warms up the metal.

It'll warm me up.

I made a little fire hole so I can just always keep my eye

on the fire.

I think the mosquitoes will have a harder time

getting in there.

And I have my mosquito net hung up in there on both sides.

So, hopefully, just have a comfortable night.

There is a method to stingray hunting.

I'm taking my feet and I'm slowly swiping them

across the floor, soft and slow.

And I have my hands towards the top of my spear

because you have to be ready at any moment's notice.
