The Three Musketeers

[Previously]

Another war is close.

The dream full of betrayers...

...when the war has not...

...even occurred.

How will you protect this country?

It'll be hard to live as a military officer...

...during this chaotic time.

Bang Bang Eui.

Have you ever been there?

Are you crying now?

No, Your Majesty.

Mi Ryung is still alive.

Mi Ryung!

You said you love me.

Get her.

Are you the wife of Prince?

Kill yourself.

I killed her.

Find the woman you lost last night.

Now do your job.

I killed her...

...at that time.

But she's still alive, surprisingly.

Then...

...if you find her now...

I'm not sure.

I need to see her...

...to find out what I'm going to do.

It's one way or the other.

I'll kill her again.

Or I fall in love and run away with her.

Are you...

...joking now or...

Q & A time is up.

Now do your job.

Wait!

Hold on.

What is it?

I'd like to ask one last question.

You still have a question?

Do I...

...have to carry out this mission?

You're saying you don't like it?

It's my first mission...

...but I don't know the purpose. And...

...this mission isn't...

...about protecting the country.

You're this country's officer as of today.

For an officer, the only order more important is...

...the King's order.

Whether you like it or not...

...know the purpose...

...or put your life in danger...

...you must do your best.

Unless you're carrying out the King's order.

Clear?

Yes, sir.

Seung Po and Min Seo treat you as a friend.

That doesn't mean I trust you completely.

I'm not in the position of trusting people easily.

It's not easy to become my person.

I'm not giving you this mission...

...because I trust you.

I'm giving you this mission...

... to see if I can trust you.

So don't get it wrong.

Something that's important to remember.

Even if you have an urgent question...

...you can't...

...stop me and ask me.

You're only a military officer.

I'm sorry.

What is it, Mother?

Open it please.

It's a talisman from the monk in Bak Sun Temple.

No woman failed to have a baby with this.

One for you...

...put another one under the Prince's pillow.

Mother.

This isn't a good time.

Everyone worries that a war is close.

I know it's my duty to have a baby...

...but I can't be worried about things like this.

That's why you need to be...

...worried about things like this.

In this chaotic time the Prince needs to have...

...a clear heir so people feel secure.

The Queen is dead...

...and you're the head of the inner court.

But if you have no child, people won't respect you.

I'm this desperate when I'm not even...

...into Buddhism. I prayed for 100 days...

...and got the talismans for you.

This is all for you and the Prince's family.

The Prince is here!

Your Highness.

The Prince is here.

Please come out.

Why are you coming out of my room.

Nothing...

Nothing?

I asked why, what's that answer?

What?

Where have you been?

What's in your hands?

What?

You're hiding something.

- What is it? - It's nothing.

- What is... - No!

No!

What were you doing in my room...

It's really nothing, please leave me alone.

Your Highness.

What is this?

This is a talisman.

What is this for?

I'm asking what this is for.

This is to win the husband's heart.

Mother worried about me...

...so she brought it for me.

I couldn't say no to my mother.

I'm sorry.

I know.

I'm embarrassed too.

I hate myself too.

Give it to me. I'll burn it.

You cried and asked me a few days ago...

...why I'm not interested in you.

To be honest...

...I'm not interested in women.

To be more exact...

...I hate women.

If you don't like women...

...does that mean you like men?

That's an interesting idea.

How can think that?

You're the princess, how could you say such a thing?

Then, what does that...

I'm saying it's not your fault.

It's all on me, so don't be too sad.

I understand why Park Dal Hyang kept your letter for so long.

He knows how to value a good lady.

Let me think about it seriously.

I'll take a good look at myself..

I think people outside are happy...

...so stay a bit longer so we don't disappoint them.

Give me some water.

Ok.

Your Highness.

I think that talisman really works.

Right?

He suddenly...

I guess so.

If Mother asks tell her what you saw.

Yes, Ma'am.

[Episode 4]

[Protect the people from the enemy, Yong Gol Dae]

I love that nose.

Look at the line.

I love those lips.

Aren't they so cute?

I wish...

...I could kiss those lips.

Don't...

Are you awake?

The lady told us to clean up here...

Is it morning?

Yes, for a while now.

- Is there a place to wash up here? - What?

I couldn't bathe last night.

Get out!

Min Seo is taking a bath!

- Really? - Now? Let's go!

Give me some water.

Is anyone out there?

Hey!

Where's everyone...?

Are you happy?

Of course I am...

Then should I take off his pants too?

Why are you running away? I said I'd show you more.

- What is it? - They want it so much.

Why don't you just bare all..

...and honor Buddha's teachings to be nice to others?

So mean.

Sir.

Should I prepare your breakfast?

Why are you here?

What?

I sent you to Park Dal Hyang.

Right.

I thought you said it out of drunkenness.

Who said so?

- Oh? - You...

Sir!

Sir.

Sir. I don't want to go.

No way.

What did I do wrong to be sent there?

His room is smaller the your bathroom!

Even slaves have levels.

My foot.

Sir, please.

Please...

Are you in there?

There you are.

What's going on?

How can you reject my sincerity...

...and send the gift back? I told you to have him.

Bring water, I'm thirsty.

He's the gift to celebrate our friendship.

I really don't need a servant.

And I have no salary for awhile...

...so I can't pay the servants.

You passed the exam, no worries!

You won the lottery.

Don't worry about the money anymore.

But your room is really small.

Can you even lie down?

I guess so.

Are you going to the training camp today?

No, Mohwaguan.

Mohwaguan?

- I'm working at *Youngjubdogam. - Why?

[Youngjubdogam: Department that receives envoys.]

Why are you going there?

All starters go to the training camp first.

That's...

Remember this.

This is between you and me.

It's strange.

Did someone wield their power?

I'm not sure.

By the way...

...what kind of person is the Prince?

I'm asking since you're close to him.

What kind of person is he?

I really don't get him.

What kind of person?

A crazy person.

Crazy?

He has the charm of psychos.

Don't try to figure him out, it gives me a headache.

I'm his friend because I'm too nice.

Who else could put up with him?

I feel bad for the Princess.

She's with that psycho.

Who's that?

Anyone home?

Who is it?

Are you the father of Park Dal Hyang?

Yes...

I'm from the department to give you news.

I got the list...

...of people who passed the exam...

...and your son Park Dal Hyang...

...passed as...

...the military officer.

Congratulations. Here's the list.

Are you okay?

Where?

Where is his name?

Here!

Park Dal Hyang.

Here.

The head office in town is also happy...

...and would like to have a party.

It's been about 100 years since our town...

...had someone who passed the exam.

This rice is a gift.

My Dal Hyang did it.

He did it.

How proud...

Father, Mother.

You probably have the news by now.

I can see you being so happy.

A lot of things have happened to me.

Bang Bang Eui was celebrated...

...I got the red badge...

...and I also have a servant.

His name is Pang Se.

I'm telling you again.

I never asked for you.

Never did.

I didn't say it's your fault.

You know his temper...

Never mind.

It's all because of my poor destiny.

Is it horrible to work for me?

Please come out.

I'll get the horse ready.

You're not denying it.

He's too honest but...

...he's fast and makes no mistakes.

I like him.

And starting today I'll be working as a *Kwonji.

[Kwonji: a trainee before officially positioned]

Father and Mother.

I'll do my best to answer the question...

...of how to protect the country.

Please be safe and healthy.

From your son, Dal Hyang.

Go back to your position.

You've come to a long way.

Long time no see.

He said "long time no see."

Your Majesty.

You must not greet...

...the Yong Gol Dae envoy team.

His letter says...

...the King of our country will bow to him as...

...an emperor. There's no way!

We've already stripped ourselves for them...

...and our people are suffering giving up all they have.

It has already been 10 years.

We can't let them insult us further.

We can't bow down...

...to that nasty enemy anymore.

Your Majesty!

Please do not allow the greetings!

Please consider this!

Please consider this!

Your Majesty!

Please burn the letter...

...and behead Yong Gol Dae...

...to show our position and keep our faith.

Even if our country goes down...

...you'll be remembered for doing your best.

Please consider this!

Your Majesty!

Please consider this!

Your Majesty!

Show your intention by...

...beheading Yong Gol Dae.

Please consider this!

Please consider this!

Your Majesty!

Close the door so we can continue.

Never allow it!

Please consider this!

Your Majesty!

It's not only them.

It's all of our students...

...as well as our people.

I also think...

...we should behead Yong Gold Dae...

...and send his head back to show them...

...that we do not approve them...

...trying to control us like slaves.

That's right.

Kill him and send his head back...

...and show our dignity and conviction.

That's only way can we live.

Your Majesty.

It's wrong for them to do this...

...but it's also wrong to not even greet them...

...as we value the equal relationship.

I believe we should respond...

...but not on all matters.

It's okay to meet him.

You can meet him first...

...and discuss the matter later.

For the last 10 years...

...after every meeting with them...

...we lost all and gave them everything.

Once you're in that position...

...what can you do for us?

How about stopping the war?

I tried to avoid the worst scenario!

You heard they occupy many lands already!

Who can stop their power?

Does it make sense for those outside...

...to say, even if the country falls...

...they will know we did our best?

Who remembers a fallen country?

I agree Mr. Choi.

I think it's to hasty to decide everything now.

That's just as inexcusable.

Right.

Let's meet them first...

... and later we can...

...discuss it then.

I agree, Your Majesty.

But if you don't show your position now...

...they will start a war...

- ...because of this... - Stop it now.

I understand...

...your outrage out of loyalty.

But killing the envoy is...

...too hasty.

I think...

...we should see the situation first.

I'll greet Yong Gol Dae.

Prepare the party.

Yes, Your Majesty.

Your Majesty!

[Mohwaguan: a place the envoy teams stay]

What did you just say?

I said I will not...

...go to the palace to meet the King.

The King should come to me.

I have our emperor's letter.

The King came here...

...for Ming's letter, right?

We want...

...the same treatment as Ming.

That's too much to ask.

You know our position, we can't do that!

I can see what Joseon people think of us...

...every time I come here.

I won't be fooled by your sweet words anymore.

If he's not coming, I'll just leave.

Remember.

The new emperor is not that patient.

He said it's a letter not from a king, but an emperor.

So he wants the same treatment.

He said he'd go back...

...if you're not coming.

See?

That's what they do!

That's why I opposed greeting them!

How arrogant!

They can't be the same as the emperor!

It's all because we allowed them to do what they wanted!

Please cancel this greeting...

...and punish them.

Please keep our country's dignity...

...by punishing them harshly!

Please keep our dignity!

I'm tired.

Let me take a break.

Prince, you stay.

Yes, sir.

Your Majesty!

You can't greet Yong Gol Dae!

If we treat them as an emperor...

...we betray the emperor of Ming!

Please consider this!

Please consider this!

You didn't say a word.

You're the prince.

How can you not have a position?

We're not choosing the best, but avoiding the worst.

So it's not easy.

It's even more difficult since I understand you.

Right.

I'd...

...rather die.

This is insulting...

...how long do we take this?

It's just not the enemies.

Those servants out there play me.

You saw it too.

They're fighting for their power.

The country's dignity?

They just want power.

I know it all!

It has been this way for 14 years!

If I don't follow them...

...they'll oust me anytime.

They've done it once. Why not twice?

Right.

They already have someone else.

Someone who'd listen to them.

Someone who'd keep their dignity.

Or...

...is it something else?

The one who'll support the enemy?

Father.

This isn't about fighting with them.

It's about choices.

You have to think it through.

Ming's power isn't as strong as before.

They won't last long.

That's the reality.

The world is changing rapidly.

And it's hard to make a decision.

But...

...we have to endure.

Is that what you think?

As I told you...

...it's not the best, just avoiding the worst scenario.

But...

...I hate to see you like this.

Suffering.

That's why I don't speak easily.

I'm...

...I'm so stupid.

I'm less patient than you.

If you were in my position...

...this country would be better off.

Please don't say such things.

Okay.

Let's go to Mohwaguan.

It's about the choices as you said.

If they want, I'll go.

It's not even a big deal.

Father, it's not that easy to decide.

They also know they're asking too much.

So they will wait.

Let's hear out the ministers...

...and take your time...

No, no.

I don't want to...

...so I want to do it quickly.

The more I think, the more I worry.

And do the ministers ever give me the answer?

Let them in again.

I've made my decision.

Yes, Your Majesty.

He's coming?

Yes, right now.

They decided this fast?

It means they're looking ahead.

It's good for us.

Where's Sunwesa?

He's waiting in the meeting room.

On our 14th day...

...right after we passed the Joseon border...

...Kim Ja Jum sent me a secret message.

The one-eyed man and the girl.

The girl is beautiful, fluent in both languages...

...but I'm still unsure of her.

The only thing she revealed was...

My name is Hyang Sun.

I was Joseon once.

Her name is Mi Ryung.

She might call herself Hyang Sun.

Things got complicated.

We've fallen in a trap.

I asked her...

...how she could recognize the Prince...

...but she won't answer.

She might be a double spy.

I will keep my eye on her...

...until the end.

I sent her to Bang Bang Eui...

...to get an idea of the situation.

I think the Prince will cover it up this time.

So, even if it's dangerous, we'll go to the city.

I've included Hyang Sun on our list...

...as the wife of the Vice General.

The room for the Vice General.

It's the last one the east side.

She recognized me anyways.

I can't just sneak in anymore.

So, I'll just face her then.

Who is it?

It's Park Dal Hyang.

We've met before.

I'd like to talk.

Come in.

I was waiting for you.

You are late.

I knew the Prince would send someone.

But I didn't know it'd be you.

What's your mission?

Bring me to him?

Or...

...kill me?

Why don't....

Why don't you get dressed first?

Wait a bit.

You know my heart is the same as yours.

I promise.

I won't marry anyone other than you.

You know my heart is the same as yours.

I promise.

I won't marry anyone other than you.

Once you pass the exam...

That letter...

...I...

...burned it.

Your Highness.

What are you looking for?

If you tell us, we'll find it for you.

Did you lose something?

I should have burned it right away.

Why did I keep it?

What?

Burn what?

You look shocked.

This is an interesting letter, so I copied it.

It could be useful someday.

I was digging up the Princess's background.

And I found this.

Who'd have imagined that a lady from...

...a renown family had a guy she promised to marry?

She acts all innocent with that face.

So...

...I also looked up Park Dal Hyang.

But...

...you're just like me.

You thought her heart...

...would last forever.

Just like me.

I pity you.

And I like you.

So don't worry.

You won't die.

Want some advice?

You don't have to be...

...loyal to the Prince.

He's not worth...

...putting your life on the line for.

You'll become like me in the end.

Remember that feeling of poison spreading through your body.

Be sure to tell the Prince about it.

Because he'll be the next.

I'll see you again.

Open the door.

Open it, the general is looking for you.

Sir, over here!

She ran away?

She must be disguised as a maid.

She killed a Joseon court maid.

Get out of the way!

The King is here!

Get out of the way!

The King is here!

The mood is so depressing.

It looks like a funeral parade.

Oh, guess what?

Park Dal Hyang went to Mohwaguan.

I see.

Bow down!

The King is coming!

Bow down!

The King is coming!

He's going to greet the enemy?

Does that make sense?

How can he do that?

The county will fall.

Shut up!

He'll hear us.

Why is he going there?

Your Majesty.

Please listen your humble servant.

I've lost...

...all 3 sons in the last war.

So my family history will end after me.

But I've always been proud...

...because they died...

...fighting the enemy.

But where are you...

...going now?

Aren't you afraid of heaven?

How can you betray your own people...

...who bled for this country?

This is too upsetting!

All three of my sons...

...were killed by them.

Your Majesty...

Your Majesty...

Your Majesty...

Go check on Father.

I'll get out if things are bad.

Please bring it down!

Your Majesty.

The Prince will join you.

No.

Let's go.

We're late.

Ok.

Let the curtain down.

It'd be better that way.

Yes, Your Majesty.

Put it down.

How is he?

I think he's calm. He said he'd just go on.

If we stop here, the people will be more confused.

We have to leave here now.

Your Majesty.

Aren't you afraid of heaven?

How can you betray your own people...

...who bled for this country?

This is too upsetting!

All three of my sons...

...were killed by them.

Your Majesty...

Your Majesty...

Your Majesty... Where are you going now?

You can't go!

Please!

We're here, Your Majesty.

I think it's poison.

It hasn't been long.

The King will be here soon.

Remove her body before anyone sees it.

Yes, sir.

Did she jump?

It's too high to jump for a woman.

General!

The King and the Prince are here.

Thank you for coming here.

I think everything will go well.

Where's Yong Gol Dae?

He'll be out soon.

Things have happened...

Listen all my people here!

I'm...

...outraged for these people...

...who have broken our relationship...

...and mention a king and servant relationship.

So, I'll behead...

...Yong Gol Dae and show...

...our position to the world.

All the soldiers here come out and arrest him!

I'll behead him myself!

What is he saying?

Your Majesty... Why all of sudden...

What is everyone doing?

I told you to arrest our enemy!

Yes, your majesty.

Arrest Yong Gol Dae!

I'll kill him in front of everyone!

Bring him to me so I can torture him!

Now... let's go.

- It's there! - Arrest them!

What's this noise!

General! Please hide!

The King ordered your beheading.

He's got us. Run, General.

It's him! Get him!

It's right there!

The emperor won't tolerate this!

We're brothers, how can you do this?

This can't happen!

Stop it.

Yes, sir.

Put it down.

Father.

This will...

...be a disaster for Joseon.

Please cancel your order.

It's too late.

Father.

For the last 9 years...

...I've repeated this everyday.

I finally said it today.

They're our enemy.

They killed so many...

...of our people.

They deserve to be killed.

It's right.

It will be a war.

What should we do? Will you go with him?

He's right there!

- He went that way! - Get him!

- Get him! - Get him!

Don't lose him!

Get him!

Arrest him!

Right there!

What the...?

Why are you here?

He jumped!

Go get him!

Just kill him.

He's our enemy.

Go carry out the King's order and kill him!

Yes, sir!

Where are you going?

Move.

Unless you want to die.

They said capture you.

It's the King's order.

This is my first day.

And I got...

...poisoned by a girl on my first day.

But...

...he said the King's order comes first.

Right, the King's order first.

My other mission comes after you.

Bring it on.

Listen to me.

We have to get him first.

What?

Protect Yong Gol Dae.

We can't let his head be sent back to his country.

[Three Musketeers]

Did they catch him?

Did he die?

This is the scenario I feared the most.

This is the letter from Minister Heo.

I'll come by later.

What are you doing here?

- By order. - Who?

The Princess?

Where's the letter?

Are you in there?

If you let a man in your room...

...without telling your husband...

It's my fault.

You're referring to that letter as "your" letter.

Do you think the Princess' heart is still "yours?"

I value your loyalty...

...but how long do you think I'll let this go?
