I've tried to answer these questions, and I can't. And nobody else has either.

And unless I can answer these questions, I can't justify fighting in an illegal

and immoral war.

So I have to decide what I believe right now.

I believe peace is preferable to war.

I believe love is better than hate.

And I believe this war is wrong.

But I don't think you really know him.

I barely know him myself.

When he was a kid, he was so good.

He was kind, gentle.

But I do know what a conscience is.

And my son has one.

And if his conscience tells him that he cannot fight, it's not because he's not

brave enough to fight.

It's because he's brave enough to stand up for what he believes in.
