All right, listen.

It says, the lake is privately owned.

According to the Arrowhead Lake Association,

in the mid 1800s, lumbermen and their families

came to harvest the vast timber resources

of the San Bernardino Mountains.

Ta-ta-ta. Okay here.

"In 1973, the state proclaimed the dam unsafe

and subject to failure in an earthquake.

The lake would have been rendered unusable

for recreation and property values would have plummeted.

An offer was made to the residents of Lake Arrowhead

for the, for the purchase of the lake by a private company

with the plans to drain the water

and convert the space into commercial development.

In a last ditch effort, a small group of property owners

banded together to save the lake.

Together they raised the money, formed an association,

and purchased the lake for themselves.

Ownership and management of the lake

"now rests solely with those original property owners."

- It makes no sense.

This place brings in thousands of tourists each year,

and almost none of them can go on the lake.

Why come here then?

Does it say who those people are, the property owners?

- Um. I don't know.

Put them in the scrapbook of your life.

Something to look back on, a history to show your children,

your grandchildren, your grandchildren's children.

So as the tide rolls in tonight,
