is a massive network

of cousins and relationships.

And if you were the Librarian
in 1857

and you wanted to change
that future,

one thing you could do
is take out these players.

But I don't mean to play
devil's advocate,

but wouldn't it be a good thing
to stop World War I?

Magic always has consequences.

And these consequences
are severe.

The consensus of nearly
every historian

is that World War I
happens no matter what.

There were too many tensions
rising across Europe

from too many
different directions.

But, having these royal houses
related to each other

keep it from happening too soon.

if a British succession crisis
happens in 1857,

that would just drive wild
Austro-Hungarian expansion--

who don't have advanced

The most likely scenario is that

if you remove the British
royal family in 1857,

World War I doesn't start
in 1914.

It starts around 1890,

before America is ready
to enter the war.

So the Allies actually lose.

Which would have a cascade
effect on history.

It changes the war after that,

which causes another war
after that,

this one with mutual nuclear
capabilities.

Instead of stopping World War I,

Benedict Hale
causes World War III

by killing Queen Victoria
and her family.
