[First Choice] [EP06]

I divorced Bai Luo'an 5 years ago.

But now we've got back together.

Are you crazy?

What?

Wanna deny that

right after announcing

and make public

your engagement with Chen Wenshi?

Trying to make things even messier

or make you sound like

an unfaithful woman?

Let go of me.

[It's your personal matter.]

[We have no right to pry.]

But in this case,

Dejia and Yuexin

will be related enterprises.

To make it fair...

I won't vote on the evaluation

of the public welfare project.

Ling.

Let's continue.

Ling!

Were you telling the truth?

I understand.

You said that 'cause you don't want people

to spread rumors

and bring a negative impact on Dejia,

right?

That's all my presentation for today.

Thank you.

Luo'an,

I'll wait you outside.

Congrats, Ms Bai.

But about what Huo Ling just said,

hope you won't misunderstand.

After all, Junyue has just acquired Dejia.

He doesn't want any more trouble.

Ms Shen, that's very considerate of you.

But,

it's better that you don't misunderstand.

Luo'an.

Wenshi,

I have something to talk to Huo Ling.

Alright.

I won't give you another chance

to hurt Luo'an and Zhao.

[Mr Huo,]

[it's the E-mail he sent.]

[It clearly says 10 million.]

Come in.

No matter what,

I should thank you.

No need.

I didn't do it for you,

but for Dejia.

Don't overthink it.

What's with that photo then?

I traced the IP address.

[The sender is Xie Boyang.]

Mr Xie?

He asked for 10 million to keep quiet.

[We've agreed,]

[but somehow,]

[he changed his mind.]

Don't worry.

My men are searching for him all over.

He has nowhere to run.

Even if Mr Xie sneaked a picture,

how did he get my laptop

and tamper with my presentation?

He must've got help in the art center.

Sorry to interrupt.

Ling,

your mom asked us to go back for dinner.

I will

take care it myself.

Hello? Mr Xie.

Where are you?

Huo Ling

has sent his men looking all over for me.

I tricked him.

He won't let me off.

So, the priority is to get the money

and then run.

[If we had asked for the 10 million only,]

[we wouldn't have been in this trouble.]

I guess.

If it weren't for this guy paying me double

and promising to get Bai Luo'an humiliated,

I wouldn't have taken such a big risk.

You understand, right?

Mei.

Trust me.

I'll go find him tomorrow,

and reach out to you after I get the money.

Alright.

You lost weight again.

Have some more.

Thank you, ma'am.

Ling,

[Qingyi]

[has been by your side for years,]

[and she's been so good to me.]

You should take a step closer.

Ma'am,

we are still young.

There's no hurry.

Even so,

your parents and I

aren't anymore.

We have to worry about you guys every day.

It smells so good.

Qingyi, you are here.

No wonder we have good food thus much.

Ms Zhao,

bring Wei a bowl and a pair of chopsticks.

Brother.

I'll prepare something different if you come back

to have dinner with me every day.

Mom,

I've been interning at Junyue.

It's more convenient to stay near.

Wei,

look, your favorite stewed gigot.

No matter how busy,

you must get to eat well.

Thank you, mom.

Brother,

I'm almost going blind reading statement reports.

Your job is much better.

Cultivate your mind in the art center,

and more importantly,

you have Qingyi to keep you company.

Even this much food

can't shut your mouth?

It sure can.

You guys eat.

I still have reports to read.

Over the past half a year,

Huo Wei has won

a lot of people over,

including those veterans

who used to be against your father.

Someone is unreliable no matter what.

You've got to be cautious when dealing

with the land development plan.

Don't make any mistake.

Dejia is way more influential

than we thought in Ning City.

It takes time before it can be demolished.

Make it quick.

Ling,

I heard some rumors today.

When did Bai Luo'an come back?

[She's even involved with Dejia now.]

[But I've never heard you talk about it?]

Just an irrelevant person.

Then what's with that photo?

Um...

it's just a misunderstanding.

We'll have it solved soon.

Right, Ling?

Ling,

[you are my only son.]

[Everything I do]

is for your own good.

Considering background and personality,

Qingyi is a perfect match for you.

[You should let go of the past]

[and move on.]

Huo Ling,

it's just an appetizer.

The best is yet to come.

[I heard she's Mr Huo's ex-wife.]

[No wonder Mr Huo is so nice to her.]

Doesn't Mr Huo have a fiancee?

Then who's the mistress? She or Ms Shen?

[No idea.]

Were you avoiding me?

No.

Then what was that expression about?

I...

don't want a misinterpretation.

What?

Didn't I tell the truth?

Aren't you going to marry Shen Qingyi?

Thank you.

[Mr Huo?]

[Why are they together?]

[What's going on?]

[So strange.]

[What's happening?]

Sir,

do you want me

to do something to stop the gossip?

Don't bother.

Just leave them be.

[Okay.]

What are you doing here?

I'm here for the same reason.

You also suspect Ling Mei?

Min Yan found out

that Ling Mei used to be Mr Xie's mistress.

I suspect it's Mr Xie

who asked Ling Mei to expose the photo.

She must be resolved

to prevent future troubles.

Keep up.

She's gone far.
