[First Choice] [EP05]

Not getting photos of Huo Ling in bed

was my mistake.

But tonight,

another woman

went into his room.

Good.

It's getting more interesting.

Cut the charity project.

Shift budget to a major music concert.

This will quickly

boost Dejia's media exposure.

[I thought, having known darkness,]

you'd understand the need

to light the way for others.

Guess I was wrong about you.

Resume charity project evaluation.

Inform Ms Bai from Yuexin

to join next week's evaluation.

Yes, sir.

All good, thanks.

Any dietary restrictions?

Not at all.

Coming right up.

Thanks.

What made you come here?

Luo'an,

you don't need to move Yuexin.

Dejia will continue to work with you.

Really?

You didn't sign some sort of

"deal with the devil" for me, did you?

Why do you suspect Zhao?

Seems like you already know.

I've seen photos of Huo Ling as a kid.

Zhao looks a lot like him,

especially the eyes.

The Huo family won't let

their bloodline stray outside.

If Huo Ling finds out,

he'll definitely take Zhao

away from Bai Luo'an.

You wouldn't

want that to happen, would you?

You're not planning to offer me money

to take Zhao and Luo'an

out of Ning City, are you?

I don't come cheap.

The solo concert at Dejia's celebration,

a rare chance many musicians dream of.

But after this concert,

I don't want to see

Bai Luo'an or Zhao in Ning City anymore.

Mr Chen,

we don't have to be enemies.

Think about it.

Just think about it.

Dejia must fully back Yuexin,

or Huo Ling will get this recording.

I think, more than Bai Luo'an,

you don't want Huo Ling

to know about Zhao's identity, right?

You...

you're despicable!

Right back at you.

Thanks a lot.

I don't come cheap.

Chen Wenshi,

be serious.

I just think

you're an artist

and shouldn't compromise for my sake.

Actually, here's the deal:

Dejia invited me

to do a solo performance.

That's amazing!

See?

I knew you could do it.

Luo'an,

after all these years,

only you still believe in me completely.

Remember this place?

It's where we first met.

Play a flute solo for me.

Come on,

take it.

You street performer,

didn't you hear me?

I don't come cheap.

Not cheap, huh?

I'll show you "not cheap"!

Who do you think you are?

Stop!

I've called the police

and recorded you beating him.

Get out of here!

Stop filming!

Get out!

Get up.

Are you okay?

Are you okay?

I don't

know you.

Why did you help me?

Your flute playing was beautiful.

I believe you can

have your own solo concert one day.

I'm the one who should be thanking you.

Sir,

one of your staff left his wallet here

when she dropped off some documents.

Sir,

she must really like you.

[Huo Ling,]

[no matter what happens,]

[I'll always be by your side.]

Mr Huo,

Ms Bai has submitted the materials

for next week's evaluation meeting.

Should I let her know

it's your arrangement?

No need.

What's this?

Are you already preparing excuses

in case you don't do well later?

Luo'an,

drink this.

No need to trouble yourself, Mr Huo.

I'll give my best performance

and won't waste Wenshi's hard work.

[Chen Wenshi?]

Hello to all the Dejia

board members.

I'm Bai Luo'an, the Art Director at

Yuexin Healing Center.

[Ms Bai and Mr Huo?]

[What are they doing?]

[What's going on here?]

[What is this?]

[This is outrageous.]

[What's going on?]

[Unbelievable.]

[What's happening?]

Mr Xie just left,

and you're already in Mr Huo's bed.

But Mr Huo, seriously?

Doesn't he find that gross?

The Rule 7 of Dejia Handbook says

that anyone gossiping about management

will be fired fundamentally.

Don't use rules as a power move.

Mr Huo?

Did you say something about me?

You've got it wrong,

I... I didn't mean it like that.

If you still wanna stay at Dejia,

watch your mouth.

I'm sorry, Mr Huo.

Luo'an,

are you okay?

I'm fine.

I try to do a good deed,

and now I'm the target.

At the signing ceremony later,

I want to propose to you publicly.

That way, all these rumors

will disappear.

Chen Wenshi,

haven't I embarrassed myself enough?

I can handle

my own mess.

I'm serious.

Just think about it.

We're in a meeting.

Luo'an.

[So...]

[you two didn't actually get married.]

Sorry, everyone.

I had a technical issue with my slides.

Let's continue.

Ms Bai,

do you think we have amnesia, or

are you counting on Mr Huo's support,

to repeatedly

cross Dejia's lines?

Your scandal with Director Xie

already put us under scrutiny,

and now there's more drama with Mr Huo.

If these photos get out,

what'll people think of us and Mr Huo?

Exactly.

What is your relationship with Mr Huo?

I almost forgot to say...

I divorced Bai Luo'an 5 years ago.

But now we've got back together.

What?

[What's going on here?]

So... back together?

Are you crazy?

What?

Wanna deny that

right after announcing

and make public

your engagement with Chen Wenshi?

Trying to make things even messier

or make you sound like an unfaithful woman?
