Krobos was said to be home to a number of alchemists

who were well versed in demonology.

Some paranormal researchers even believe

that it was demonic forces that ultimately destroyed the city

and caused it to sink.

Most of my peers in the scientific community

would laugh at such things. But me, I say...

We scientists need to keep an open mind.

-Mine is wide open. -[proton pack energizes]

Whatever desiccated those people may still be on the boat.

So, everybody, be alert.

Definite ecto activity coming from down there.

[Garrett groans]

[Roland] Eduardo?

Once we trap a ghost, its hold on people is broken

and usually things go back to the way they were.

This creature, uh, I would love to study it.

And, what exactly is that?

Uh, kind of like a Bates Motel for ghosts.

it was probably in a hibernative state, not having fed for centuries.

If that entity had gotten into the city's water supply,

it could have desiccated thousands, even millions.

Well, it's going into permanent hibernation now.

I've been doing a Nexus search.

Apparently, he's not as squeaky clean as people think.

Several major benefactors have threatened to cut off his funding.

He's hurting,

but one significant discovery could get him 10 more years of grants.

So, he thinks this ghost is his meal ticket.

Yes, but unfortunately, he may end up being a meal for the ghost.

But I've got a pretty good idea of where he's taking that thing.

[ominous music playing]

They would if they knew what kind of danger he put the city in.

[Janine on comm] Ghostbusters, reports are coming in.

There was a desiccation at 75th and Lex, a man in the shower.

[Roland] We're there.

And another one in Murray Hill and two more in mid-town.

How can we track this thing when it's everywhere?

It seems to be working its way towards the Lower East Side.

We're in the Lower East Side.

[beeping]

It's heading back to the ocean.

We got to stop it. We can't let this thing go global.

[siren wailing]

[Egon on comm] All the city's ocean bound water

goes through a central waste station where it's treated and purified.

It's located on the East River, south of Houston.

[eerie music playing]

[Roland] Even if the creature comes through here,

it could be from any of those three inlets.

According to the schematics,

there exists a switching station of some kind.

If it were possible to reroute two of the intake tunnels,

so they all feed into one reservoir.

I'm on it.

-[ominous music playing] -[alarm beeps]

Uh, guys, how do we know that thing hasn't gotten into the ocean yet?

We don't, but this is our only chance.

At least now the demon's only got one escape route.

That tunnel.

That's why we need to bait the trap with one of us.

Five more minutes and somebody else takes his place.

He could get hypothermia.

I bet that demon gave us the slip. He's probably halfway to Australia...

-[screams] -[music turns dramatic]

[proton pack energizes]

-[roaring] -Eddie!

[groans]

[Rousseau grunts]

I've got a dozen reporters

waiting to interview Francois Rousseau about his greatest discovery.

Are you out of your mind?

Don't you know what this creature is capable of?

Yes, I do, about $10 million in research grants.

[dramatic music playing]

Speaking of breaking the rules, Eduardo,

we usually decide things by taking a vote.

You jumping in the water like that was totally reckless.

[Kylie] But, also kind of brave.
