Ordered other daimyo lords to go to battle.

The Toyotomi and Tokugawa clans broke off finally.

You, too, Daisuke.

Yes.

We can see each other again, as long as we are alive.

So, please...

You all stay well, too.

Father.

When can I see you, Father?

Father.

We can see again, can't we?

Aguri.

Ume.

Help your mother.

Yes.

Got it?

I'm counting on you.

Yes.

-Kume. -Yes.

Sorry for having gotten you into trouble.

-Not at all. -Kume.

Farewell.

Sir Daisuke.

The Asano guards are not here now.

Better go now.

Kosuke.

-I'm counting on you. -Yes.

-Well, then... -Here.

Here. Please hurry.

Goodbye.

UEDA CASTLE

Listen.

The two sides broke off.

Now Saemon-no-suke will probably enter Osaka Castle.

Therefore...

I am not sending my father's vassals to battle with you.

Because I am afraid that they will side with Saemon-no-suke.

Shogun Hidetada has been mad at Lord Awa and the Sanada for more than 10 years.

Even if I don't go to battle,

They might still see us as potential betrayers.

If Saemon-no-suke sides with Osaka,

You guys might have to set up camps in front of him and fight him.

You have to keep that in mind.

Yes!

But you don't have to fear.

No need to get reserved.

Fight to the full extent and distinguish yourselves.

Yes!

That's how you are supposed to show samurai courtesy to your uncle, Saemon-no-suke.

Remember my words and go to battle.

Yes!

I'm sending Saheiji to assist you two.

-Nobuyoshi. -Yes.

-Nobumasa. -Yes.

Come home alive.

He sighed again.

Dear.

I will be ordered to accompany Sir Nobuyoshi and Sir Nobumasa to the battlefield.

Father.

I am working for Lady Komatsu, too. She has been very good to me.

Please do not worry.

What is it?

Your father accompanies Sir Nobuyoshi, which means...

He might have to fight Sir Saemon-no-suke, if Sir Saemon-no-suke enters Osaka Castle.

Your father used to serve Sir Saemon-no-suke.

In addition...

Sasuke works for Sir Saemon-no-suke now.

You mean, my brother?

Father and son have to kill each other.

It's windy.

Yes?

Say, Kakubei.

Yes.

I'm entering Osaka Castle.

What do you think?

Yes?

Do you think I'm foolish?

No.

You mean it?

Aren't you going to take me with you?

Sir Saemon-no-suke.

What do you say?

If you tell me to go with you, I will clean up my acts and...

Kakubei.

Go to Lord Izu's Ueda Castle.

I don't want to go back to Ueda.

Listen, Saheiji.

As long as I go to battle,

You have to follow me, don't you?

That's what I'm going to do.

-Listen, Saheiji. -Yes.

I have a feeling...

You and I will die together someday.

Yes?

Die together someday...

You can't sleep, dear?

-Ah, did I wake you up? -Oh, no.

Go to sleep.

What's this?

Your travel gear.

I knew you would need it someday, so I prepared it a long time ago.

What are you talking about?

I know it, dear.

You want to go and help Sir Saemon-no-suke, don't you?

-Go ahead. -Moyo.

As Haru said, don't worry about us.

Now, hurry.

Moyo.

You get to see Sasuke, don't you?

Sorry.

Moyo.

Stay well.

I will.

So you heard us...?

-He's not there? -Yes.

We looked all over, but we couldn't find Saheiji.

-Where did Saheiji go? -I don't know.

As I already told my lady, I know nothing.

Face me.

I was going to order him to accompany my sons to battlefield.

He has never done something like this.

What is going on?

What do you think?

Yes...

I think he left our clan.

Left our clan?

I think...

Probably...

He went to Osaka.

Saemon-no-suke hasn't decided if he will enter Osaka Castle or not.

Why did he run to Osaka now?

-Did Saemon-no-suke write to him? -Oh, no.

Saheiji does not speak his bosom to me.

Then, how do you know he went to help Saemon-no-suke?

I am Mukai Saheiji's wife.

I don't know how to apologize, my lord.

Please give me any punishment.

Punishment, huh?

I'm not giving any.

You and Haru must continue to serve us.

Thank you very much!

Good for you, Moyo.

Yes!

You may go.

That woman, Moyo...

She is quite something!

Dear?

Saheiji didn't have to leave our clan now.

He must have been anxious.

Dear, you were going to order him to accompany, because...?

-Ina. -Yes.

I'm going out of the castle incognito.

-I'll call Shinnosuke then. -I'm going by myself.

Master.

It's been a while.

My lord!

Kizaemon.

-Glad to see you well. -Thank you.

-Can I come in? -Sure.

But it's so messy here.

Please come to the back room.

Did you come by yourself?

What is the matter, Lord?

Nothing.

Well, how old are you now? KURUSHIMA KIZAEMON I am 76.

You're still looking good.

Oh, no.

I had you make my very first armor.

Yes.

Nobuyoshi is wearing the armor this time.

Really?

Nobuyoshi and Nobumasa are going to their first battle to Osaka.

Congratulations, my lord.

However...

The Shogun's family ordered me to stay here in Ueda.

I am a Tokugawa vassal, but...

His Excellency doesn't seem to trust me.

How sad, isn't it?

Well...

I must endure it, because I have a fief to govern.

I cannot abandon my vassals and people.

I feel for you, my lord.

-Well, Kizaemon. -Yes.

Sometimes...

I, too, want to abandon everything...

Blowing with the wind...

Iike my late father and Saemon-no-suke, as my heart dictates...

Iive only for myself...

I feel like that more often recently.

I feel for you, my lord.

I feel for you, too.

I heard you made red-painted armors.

I am very sorry!

I didn't come to accuse you.

I want to pay you for the ordering party.

How much is it?

Oh, no...

Tell me.

His messenger came recently.

He already paid me in full.

I see...

Please take a look.

This is for Sir Saemon-no-suke.

Sir Saemon-no-suke.

I haven't seen Lady Oriyo and your children for a while.

Where did they go?

Sir Saemon-no-suke.

When are you going to Osaka?

When are you leaving...?

Kakubei.

Kaku.

Are there Asano guards?

They already left.

How's the penal colony?

All serene. What's up?

The Shogunate told us to watch the penal colony, because East and West broke off.

I see. Let's go back.

"Brother Ryuge-in"

I'm going, Father.

Asano guards?

Please hide, sir.

Don't fight.

Just let them go.

What?

I just heard something.

Now.

Hurry!

Where did they go!?

Where are they!?

There!

Get him!

River sound?

That's the Kinokawa River (Kii Province River).

I was waiting for you, sir.

Where's Sir Kakubei?

He was put to sleep by the herb Toji gave me.

I saw Asano soldiers going to the penal colony.

He should be all right if he stays still.

Let's take a boat.

Meanwhile,

Nekota Yosuke, who was heading for Mt. Kudo, has fallen ill.

He was staying at a farmer's house in Southern Kawachi.

Is there something to cover him?

I'll get it.

He must have pushed himself too much for his age.

He's old, I said.

Oh, yeah. I am 67.

Grandma.

I want you to take care of him for a while.

Where are you going?

I'm going back to Kyoto and I will come back with medicine.

Can you make it?

-Please! -Yes...

Where did he go?

To Kyoto.

What a nice grandson.

ROSARY STORE, KYOTO

Why did you leave the hideout without permission?

Yes...

You didn't let me know and just left?

Yes...

Koshiro.

You can't tell?

Well.

Actually, I accompanied Sir Yosuke to spy on Mt. Kudo.

Mt. Kudo?

Sir Yosuke said Saemon-no-suke might be entering Osaka Castle.

We left Kyoto to prevent Sanada ninja from working for him.

Why are you moving on your own?

He said we shouldn't take lightly of Sanada ninja.

Silence!

The Sanada brat is nothing.

He is the same as any money-blinded ronin who enters Osaka Castle.

Despite that...

Why is he making a fuss over?

Now...

Where's Yosuke?

Yes...

He fell ill on our way. So I left him at a farmer's house.

Such an old fart...

It was clever of you to have left him there.

No, I'm going back with medicine.

What?

Leave him alone.

But...!

Leave Yosuke alone!

Sanada Saemon-no-suke is entering the castle...

Oko is coming, too...

She will surely come...

Oko...

As soon as we arrive in Osaka, we will escort you to our ninja house.

There will be our ninja colleagues and Lord Awa's vassals.

Please wait there before you enter the castle.

Oko...

Where did he go?

I saw it when I helped his bowel movement.

He doesn't have the male thing.

OSAKA CASTLE

Yukimura and his son Daisuke, who left Mt. Kudo,

Finally appeared in Osaka Castle.

Yukimura used to live in this castle as a hostage.

It has been 15 years for him.

-Excuse me. -What?

Sir Sanada Saemon-no-suke Yukimura just arrived.

-Really? -Yes.

Escort him respectfully.

Wait.

I'll welcome him.

Sir Saemon-no-suke is here!

Thank you for coming.

Thank you indeed.

I invited Toyotomi daimyo lords like Fukushima, Kuroda and Kato.

But none of them responded.

Oh, well.

Having you, Sir Saemon-no-suke, is worth 1,000 men, even 10,000 men!

The future of Osaka Castle totally relies on your ability.

I, Sanada Saemon-no-suke Yukimura, and my son Daisuke...

Gladly came over upon your invitation, my lord.

Your Excellency, please give him words.

Ah, thanks.

You are welcome.

SUNPU CASTLE I knew this was going to happen.

That's why I had many agents infiltrate into Osaka Castle.

Yes.

Some of the agents are not ninja.

Some of them, who work for us, are working close to Lord Hideyori.

Yes.

Well...

We don't need to fight.

I think Osaka Castle will fall by itself.

What shall I do then?

Go to Kyoto and call Tomo Naganobu back here.

Yes.

And...

Keep an eye on Fukushima of Aki Province, Kuroda and Kato.

-Certainly. -Excuse me.

What?

You received a secret letter from the Kyoto Governor, Lord Itakura Iga.

Read it to me.

"Numerous ronin have entered Osaka Castle since last time."

"Here is the list of noted ones."

"Goto Matabei Mototsugu"

"Chosokabe Morichika"

"Mori Katsunaga"

"Ban Dan'emon"

"Sanada Saemon-no-suke Yukimura"

-"Akashi Kamon" -Wait.

-That Sanada brat, too? -Yes.

Yukimura received a mansion in Osaka Castle.

He and his party moved into the mansion.

Sir Saemon-no-suke?

Something to worry, sir?

Lord Hideyori has changed.

Osaka has...

Nothing.

Maybe I am making you die for nothing.

What are you saying?

Even if Osaka loses,

I won't let you die for nothing...!

Anyway...

Anyway, let's show the Sanada's ability to the world.

My father had wanted to fight leyasu,

But he died without fulfilling it. We shall get revenge for him.

I, too, want to make a brilliant close to my life...

One has only one close to his life.

I want to make a brilliant one.

On October 11, 1614...

The Sanada army is going to battle.

Father.

Mother.

We are going now.

Good luck.

Thank you.

Help each other and fight brilliantly.

Yes.

Sir Yoriyasu.

Please leave it to me.

Go!

You got a secret letter from Sir Suzuki Ukon in Kyoto.

-You may go. -Yes.

"Saemon-no-suke entered Osaka Castle."

By a twist of fate, Nobuyuki's sons have to fight his younger brother.

Nobuyuki was giving a resentful look at his fate.
