Darn it.

Were it not that I cannot show my face,

how could you guys match me?

Who's there?

Fairy Yunxiao.

Father.

An assassin was found in Dragon Palace.

Someone really sneaked in here.

The assassin failed to hurt Little Prince.

Many guards saw him.

This matter can't be fake.

Since Junior Ling'e spoke the truth,

then she didn't break the glazed lantern.

Please have mercy.

We caught her just this morning.

And an assassin appears out of nowhere?

What a coincidence.

So coincidental.

So coincidental.

Tomorrow, my son weds.

Turtle Minister.

Order tighter security.

Tomorrow, we can't let the assassin

ruin my son's wedding.

Yes.

Father.

Then, about Ling'e...

I'm naturally willing to let her go.

The question is whether she wants

to leave on her own.

What does that mean?

Ling'e.

Are you all right?

I'm fine.

Junior Ling'e.

The culprit you chased last night

has been found.

Your suspicion is cleared.

Come home with us.

Yeah, come back with us.

Young lady.

Do you wish to know who your father is?

I never thought

I still had family in this world.

Please, tell me who my father is.

Even if his identity

brings you great pain?

No matter what, he's still my father.

Even if I could just see him once.

I just wanna see what he looks like.

Your Majesty.

Someone from the Ascendance Sect seeks an audience.

Good.

If you want to know who your father is,

stay in prison today.

Don't go back to your Senior.

Tomorrow during the wedding,

I'll tell you everything.

Why?

The people of Ascendance Sect

probably already know your identity.

Their care for you over the years

was all an illusion.

Was that mysterious person caught?

Identity unknown. Whereabouts unclear.

Meaning,

my suspicion isn't fully cleared yet.

Dragon Palace can't let me walk free.

Once things are clear after the wedding,

come pick me up then.

Junior.

Are you alright?

I'm fine.

The Dragon King treats me well.

Senior, you needn't worry.

Good.

Off you go then.

Tomorrow is my son's wedding.

Enjoy the feast and have fun.

After Ao Yi's wedding today,

your decades of plans in East Sea

If one day I do something wrong,

what would you think?

Well...

If I should ever do something

that harms the Dragon Palace,

would you still stand with me?

truly never stops.

It kept her from opening up to me,

Yunxiao.

Who are you?

Do I know you?

A lowly human disciple like you,

what brings you here so late at night?

Fairy Yunxiao is naturally clever.

She refusing to acknowledge me

must have a reason.

The clues aren't hard to read.

She wants to hide from eyes and ears.

If not for the Dragon Palace,

I'd teach you a real lesson.

Stop staring. Get out.

Sorry to disturb you.

You brat.

You always rejected my help before.

Today,

I'll make sure you see my real skills.

Yunxiao and I are in sync.

From that moment on,

no words were needed between us.

Everything fell into place.

Your Majesty took Junior Ling'e today.

So you probably couldn't personally

monitor Fairy Yunxiao's movements.

I never thought

one careless moment

would lead to all this.

Fairy Yunxiao,

though you are a Quasi-Saint,

and I may fall short of you,

I'm still an Empyreal Aureate Immortal.

If we really fight,

even if I lose,

you'd be badly drained too.

Your Majesty,

you never meant to strike.

Why lose your temper now?

How do you know?

I don't wanna fight?

A Quasi-Saint against an Empyreal Aureate Immortal

will take hours to settle.

Besides, you set this trap

to ruin the wedding.

Now that the situation is set,

why trouble yourself, Your Majesty?

Looks like you already set the game

to play with me.

Fine. For many years,

no one dared play against me.

Today I'll play a game with you.

When did you first find out

I was the mastermind?

I knew from the start.

From the start?

The Westdawn Sect used the Crown Prince,

scheming for years.

Yet the Crown Prince only held power,

never claimed the throne.

His wedding with the Mermaid Princess failed too.

Who kept blocking the Westdawn Sect?

I'm just a senile old dragon.

Aged and weak.

How could I manage that?

The weapons I used were all Celestial Court treasures.

Each is a demon-slaying artifact.

Yet you blocked them all, unharmed.

How can you say you're aged and weak?

On this Dragon Palace trip,

the biggest obstacle

isn't the Westdawn Sect,

but you, Your Majesty.

Westdawn's fed on the Dragon Palace for years.

All with your consent.

But why did you refuse to let them

complete this final step?

In my view, there is only one reason.

You are waiting for the best offer.

I'm a realistic dragon.

Don't care about Celestial Court or Three Sects.

All I care about

is who offers the most.

So as long as the Dragon Palace stays neutral,

the Celestial Court and Westdawn

will keep winning over the Dragon Clan.

Your leverage will keep growing.

Once pledging to one side,

I'll lose the leverage to demand more

and break completely with the other.

The loss outweighs the gain.

In the end,

whether Ao Jia leads the dragons to Westdawn,

or Ao Yi to the Celestial Court,

you will intervene.

So from the very beginning, you knew

your opponent

was me.

Your Majesty,

this game is set.

What about the other person?

The other person

the Celestial Court would unleash fatal moves.

After warning Westdawn,
