his own antique and collectible shop.

Vincey Vegas is opening for business.

It proved to smash it with customers.

for a good buy and his ability to sell

eclectic items.

assistant Bev are back.

Here's a list of my grievances.

Dagfield Craft and Antique Center in
Cheshire is where Johnny launched his

antique shop last year.

We did the pop-up. It was an experiment.

And we knew it was. Yeah.

Closing the shop, it was difficult.

Because I was finally doing something
that I had a different kind of

confidence. Yeah. We did well enough,
and now this time around, I don't want

it to finish when the cameras go home.

We're reopening a shop, and I want to
build up an online presence.

I love the idea of picking something
that goes global.

Yeah. Somebody at the other end of the
world might go, I've been looking for

one of them. Yeah.

So let's broaden our base.

Let you say, we'll have that other
avenue of getting everything online.

This time it's like looking at that
longevity.

See that caravan there? Lovely, I loved
it.

Since the last shot was just a temporary
pop-up to test his idea, Johnny's old

unit has been taken over by another
business.

Luckily, their old Dadfield neighbours
have come to the rescue.

Campervan business owners Dave and Bird
have offered to sublet their extra space

to Johnny.

Johnny wastes no time in getting the
shop fitters to kit out the shop, and

he's using the same corrugated cladding
to give it his trademark lock-up look.

The new space is really, genuinely
exciting.

I don't want it to look like there's a
certain supermarket where they sell

random objects down the centre aisle,
and it's almost like a ball pit for

grown men who buy useless stuff.

I want it to be a little journey where I
get people to explore every bit.

With the shell of the shop fitted out,
it's time to start filling it.

And after a quick trip back home, the
van is full of stocks Johnny's been

storing in his lock-up while the shop's
been closed.

He's also collected long-term partner
Vicky.

to show her the new shop layout and
introduce her to a new role.

We need to give that so for a good
hoover before we move that out tomorrow.

This is the third time Vicky is seeing
the new shop layout.

Wow. My new shop layout is breaking the
shop down into areas and not making it

just one-dimensional.

I don't want it to be a dead giveaway
when you walk in. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

I learnt from last time, you can have
all this fascinating stuff in there, but

people can look in the window and decide
it's not for them.

You want to make them want to come in. I
love the little nooks and crannies. It's

like a little journey, isn't it? Yeah.

You want to turn every customer into an
explorer.

The shop is there to be explored,
because that's what I do when I go out

buying, and the shop's got a wrist like
that.

One new addition will be a mid-century
modern corner, highlighting the best

style from between 1945 and 1970.

I basically want a kind of 70s lounge,
just to show off lamps, different

pieces, let people look at it as if, oh,
I can imagine that in my house. And I

found this online.

Wallpaper. I love it. It's a nice colour
and I think it'll really visually break

the shop up.

The final change involves Vicky.

So, yeah, he's got me on it now, online,
on the website, setting everything up,

which is a new venture for me. Never
done anything like this before, so out

to a wider audience and hopefully sell
across the world.

But we didn't last time. We've got to
maximise. Yeah, don't do it. Get it on

the web.

I think I definitely missed the trip not
getting online last year. I got so busy

because I'd never run a shop before.
Getting online is massive because you're

open when you're closed and items are
there, they're available 24-7. And my

biggest concern was how often can I open
the shop if I'm out buying?

Now I can be out buying without woodying
about that.

My God, I sound like I know what I'm
doing.

Even after the pop-up closed, Johnny
continued buying anything that caught

his eye with a view to reopening the
shop.

Oh, my God. Did you get it? Oh, I didn't
lift with my legs.

Johnny's even using his own sofa in his
mid-century modern corner, and he's

willing to part with it if the price is
right.

Go on, Bob. Put it where you want it.

See? I know I'm more bothered it sounds
like me after that.

I know. Every time I move it, we turn
into a carry-on film.

Word of Johnny's return has reached
another Dagfield veteran.

Collectibles dealer, Dave Rutter, and
his four-legged associate, Jasper.

How you doing, boss? Oh, the bloody hell
are you, eh?

The larger pieces have gone across
there.

But starting breaking it up.

Johnny's been storing stock at home, and
when he ran out of space, filled a lock

-up at Dadfield.

So he needs to get it all on the shelves
to see how much he's got and how much he

needs to buy.

Right, so that's everything from the

-up? With the redesign of the shop, it's
much bigger than I remembered.

Small shelves put up, more empty
shelves.

We are opening very soon. We need to get
out, we need to get buying, and we need

to fill this place up.

We've got a brilliant new van. Honestly.

It's that quiet, doesn't sound like it's

Johnny's first buying trip for the shop
is somewhere close to his heart, but 65

miles away from Dagfield, the Welsh
island of Anglesey.

I love it here. I always feel like I've
come back.

It's like somebody going... Big warm

Today they're off to historic Beaumaris,
a town known for its maritime traditions

and medieval castle, and a hot spot for
antique enthusiasts.

The dealers here, I love them. There's
one woman, and I know she's going to

beat me up. Price-wise? Yeah, it's like
kickboxing.

And there's a guy here, a ceramicist.
When they say, buy what you love, I want

to push him as a ceramicist. Because
it's simple, it's lovely, it's in my

kitchen. You go, well, if I wouldn't
have it, I wouldn't try and sell you a

piece.

John Fairburn's ceramic shop is in one
of Johnny's favourite haunts, The

Exchange.

This converted chapel houses 20
independent businesses.

including antiques and collectibles,
which sit alongside John's pottery.

I've been making pots since I was 16.

Johnny's been here before. He bought
some of my bottles.

I'm hoping he might like some of my Big
Hurt Vases and some of the quirky

vintage items.

Blink twice, you'll miss it. Oh, it's
lovely, isn't it?

The neck dock caters for Johnny's
passion for ceramic, John's handmade and

vintage pottery.

I want to make pots, so the best way is
to be able to sell them. Have I sold one

more. Yeah, I've got to have that.

Produced during China's Golden Age and
recreated here by John, Tang Dynasty

pottery uses something called sangsai,
or three-colour glazes.

where the colours merge in unpredictable
patterns.

It's affordable, beautiful.

that. It just fills a good space.

Somebody can walk out and feel good.

Last year, Johnny learnt the importance
of stocking small, affordable pick-up

-and-go items that he can turn over
quickly, and he can never have enough.

Oh, and it's all cast iron.

Yeah, it's really heavy, feel it. So
what's the price on that?

£25, which is, you know, clear.

I can't go mad, but I'll check that out

Yeah, it's an Italian remake.

It's probably redone in the 70s, 80s,
but you don't get many of them about. I

Original versions of statues advertising
the now-defunct Ficino ice cream date

back to the 1930s and can fetch around
£1,000.

You know, the ring must be over the

I feel I got a little bit wiser.

love it, but your job is passing it on.

The other shop in Beaumaris Johnny wants

it's an old favourite.

business, she drives a hard bargain.

of decorative Indian arches.

These are miniature versions of the
carved balcony panels, once found across

Mughala and Rajput palaces in India,
designed to let royal women observe

daily life unseen.

to the Polynesian antiques, and Indian

antiques especially.

I'm learning, I'm buying.

Maybe I'll end up buying bigger pieces,
but for now, they're just small and mini

statements.

a bumper haul of quick-sell small and a

couple of larger pieces to help restock
the shop.

It's been a really successful trip.

brilliant. He didn't even have to take
it out of the shop and he sold it here.

All in all, first day back, confidence
is high.

I am getting more and more excited about
stocking the shop. Oh, I do like that,

The next job is to price everything up.

I'm getting good at valuing stuff, but
now it's value it as a business, don't

value it as a passion project.

So Johnny's given me a list, so I've
just got my price list here for all of

the items that we've brought back from
Anglesey.

We've got the Ice Cream Lady.

She's going on at £1.85.

I've got to ask you enough to keep the
shop open, keep the lights on. So on

other dealers' advice, 68% to 72% mark
off.

You're not taking a mickey, you're just
going, that's what it costs in time and

expense to source this.

We've got the coots at 270.

Apparently they go really, really well
in America. So this is an item that he

definitely wants to go online.

Originating in North America, decoys
used by hunters to attract wildfowl are

an early example of folk art.

The most coveted being by Crowell and
Lincoln.

The Tizer sign, we've got that one on at
600.

Enamel signs like this 1930s original
are highly collectible, although it's

getting harder to spot the real deal
from lower-value reproductions.

Subjects like soft drinks, tobacco and
moting items known as Petroliana are

amongst the most sought after.

And then we've got the lovely little
metal safe box with its original key at

42.

This cast iron safe box is a classic
smalls item.

Affordable, easy to display, easy to
walk away with and easy to replace.

We've got one more item to do, which is
the bench for 300.

Benches like this were produced in the
late 19th and early 20th century for the

British Indian Army. Because modern teak
is fast grown and less dense, colonial

era teak is particularly desirable.

because it was grown slowly and is more
durable.

With the latest stock priced up,
including John Ceramic... Right.

Bournemouth.

Lovely colour, innit? Lovely. And it
might have had just the bit of repair

work, but I think the key's original,
I'm pretty sure. And the inside's

lovely. Oh, superb. Brilliant. Is it
cash or card?

The shop has only just opened, and
Johnny's bagged his first sale.

The small walkout items are already
paying off.

I'm thrilled.

artists. Have you read the provenance on
the table there?

Johnny is showcasing the pottery bought
from Johnny Nanglesey in a new section

of the shop called Meet the Maker.

I study ceramics. I want to promote
ceramics.

I'll miss it, but I'm happy that it's
going home here.

And it's not long before more ceramics
are being snapped up. So, 4 of 15,

Johnny? He's flying out there.

Last year, 95% of the ceramics that are
put out didn't sell.

Now they're shifted.

affordable, what's walkout.

And after a hectic day back-selling,
while neighbours Dave and Bird cook up a

celebratory storm to welcome Johnny and
co home, it's time to shut up shop and

take stock.

I'm buzzed, to be quite honest.

It restored me first in that what I'm
buying, I'm buying for the right

reasons. This looks amazing.

Johnny's got so much more confidence.

Yeah, Vintage Vegas is back.

Open for business.

I'm really proud of Johnny.

Stuff he's buying, people are absolutely
loving, and they're flying off the

shelves, so that speaks for itself.

If I can keep emptying my shelves every
time we open the doors, it means we

stand a chance of staying open full
time.

Not a pop-up, not a hobby.

Open for them.
