"Episode 10 Firekeeper"

The clan ring has been forged.

The 36th leader may temporarily leave Chiyuan and explore the world.

You had a dream?

A dream?

Did you peek into my dream?

Of course not.

Your mind is protected by the Phoenix Fire. I can't see your dreams clearly.

Wait, then you did peek! You just didn't succeed!

Damn it! Our minds are linked. Now he can sense my every thought.

No, I need to think of something else.

Steamed lamb, steamed bear paw, steamed deer tail,

roasted duck, roasted chicken, roasted goose,

braised pig, braised duck, braised chicken, bacon...

Which jerk is talking about food in the middle of the night?

"Xiao Zheng"

It's nothing, Xiao. Go on.

I've gathered all available agents in the nearby provinces here.

Elder Yuede is a highly influential figure.

We need to plan the investigation for the long term.

Captain Xuan said the artifacts of the Wu people are extremely dangerous,

especially the bronze casket. You--

I know. Leave it to me and go get some rest.

If we need you, you'll be summoned immediately.

What palace is this?

It's a hotel. Welcome to the 21st century, brother!

Lad.

Help me take a photo.

--Oh, my, you're handsome. You must be a cast member in period drama?

--Wait! --Oh, my, you're handsome. You must be a cast member in period drama?

--Wait! --I'll help spread the word.

Let me help you. My friend isn't good with taking photos.

Look here! One, two, say cheese!

The world has indeed changed.

There are more changes than you can imagine.

Please come this way, Your Majesty.

I said you're my sword spirit, so you have to stay with me for the night.

My colleagues gave me some new clothes. Do you want them?

Illusion sure is a useful skill.

That's a smart TV, no one is hiding inside. Didn't you see one in Chiyuan?

That's for washing your hands, it's not a snack.

That's the air conditioning vent. No one is spreading poison from there.

Something wrong with the food?

Nothing.

How many people are there living in Dongzhou?

In Dongzhou? I'm not sure,

but I guess there would be over 10,000,000 people here.

So many people are still up and about at this hour?

Modern life comes with active night scenes.

Besides, Dongzhou is known for its public safety.

It's not dangerous to go out at night.

Very good. What year is it, and who is in charge of the country?

Even the emperors have had a job change.

Your Majesty, would you like a sip? This water makes people happy.

What is your plan now? Do you have any unfulfilled wishes?

Don't worry.

I just want to find the one who disturbed my slumber

with the Thousand Spirits Array.

I have no intention of staying in the living world for long.

That's not what I meant.

Young fiend, since our minds are linked,

why don't you let me know more about you?

Our minds are linked?

Don't primordial beings like you avoid taking food from a young age?

What are you exactly? And where are you from?

The human world is lively, but I've always felt...

...that I don't belong there.

I guess I belong to Chiyuan?

"Nanming Firekeeper"

I guess I belong to Chiyuan?

Ever since I can remember,

I've only known that I'm a Firekeeper, born in Chiyuan.

But what exactly is a Firekeeper?

Are you the son of the patient? Do you have any other relatives?

"Operating Room"

My son... and my husband...

Please, you have to save them!

"Student ID" "Department of History, Faculty of Humanities"

I'll live on in their stead.

Xuan Ji, come work at the Center, will you?

Nanming? I see.

The Fire Seal has been forged. It shall help us seal off Chiyuan!

Put on the seal!

He's the Firekeeper of Chiyuan! The one from 3,000 years ago, where I--

Where you what?

Impudent!

Crap! This place is ill-suited for a fight.

Not bad, young fiend. You'd expose your own memory to gain info.

Your Majesty, if you want to know my secret, exchange it with yours.

I knew you'd try again after you failed to intrude into my mind in the car.

And I was right.

Why are you so curious about me?

I don't know why you kept my corpse around,

but since you did, you need to be prepared for any backlash.

I respect you, Your Majesty. I think the one who ended the Jiuzhou War was a hero,

even though you've been acting like a jerk this whole time.

Sorry for ruining your expectation.

It seems our mind link is broken now.

What did he do to me? Why does he think that he can't let me know?

What's going on? Is this the after effect of the mind intrusion?

Hello? What took you so long to pick up the phone?

We've found the stone bed you spoke of, and there are still signs of runes on it.

But where is the casket? I can't even find one piece of bronze here!

Is that so? Then you need to search more thoroughly.

Which of us is the field agent here?

Manager Xiao, we found something!

Look. Is this the mark left behind by the casket?

Watch out, something is happening here.

Let's back away for now.

There are people who can cast Shadow Record in this age?

Coming on a field trip was worth it.

What is this Shadow Record?

It's like a video recorder from ancient times.

It can record everything that's happened within an area.

Hurry up and film this!

Hey, Xiao. Send me the video of this Shadow Record.

Wait, don't tell me it has something to do with you again?

Could this shadow figure be the mastermind behind the array?

So that's how the casket disappeared. No wonder there's not a trace left.

Why... Why does he just stand there?

It seems like he's waiting for something?

Wait, isn't this the scene of when we arrived?

Wait, that means that, while we were combing the scene,

this... thing, was watching us?

What is the meaning of this?

It means the mastermind...

...has possessed one of us.

I see.

The demon Aluojin is powerful bait.

If the mastermind found out that he wasn't annihilated,

he'd return to break the seal.

But doing that means he fell into his trap.

That sly fox. He'd secretly cast a spell even when he's coughing up blood.

Shadow Record? Impressive. I thought he was truly sad about Aluojin.

Does he even know how to spell the word "sad"?

If he wants to deal with the mastermind, then someone has to keep Aluojin in check.

Could it be that, when he framed me as Dan Li, he had already planned all this?

He sure thinks highly of me.

Stop! I've explained to you, clan leader, I have nothing to do with Dan Li.

Of course, if you'd like to form an anti-fraud union

against Sheng Xiao with me,

I'd be happy to oblige. We are both victims of his, after all.

You're the Firekeeper.

What? What did you say?

He said if I were to rekindle the flame of Chiyuan, then I'd need to kill you...

"He"? Who is he?

The Firekeeper.

No wonder you smelled like the phoenix, just like Dan Li!

The fiends were powerful:

the Shadow tribe could blur the line between life and death,

the Hill tribe could make weapons come alive,

whereas our people had the blessing of the land.

All of these were possible because of Chiyuan.

But he used us, extinguished the flame and sealed off Chiyuan,

removing the last bit of magical energy left in this world.

From then on, there have only been mortals left in this world.

Firekeeper?

Firekeeper?

Aren't you just the bone of the phoenix that Sheng Lingyuan sealed off in Chiyuan?
