Kid,

thank you

for burning so many blood-bubble bushes for me.

A word of advice,

stop looking.

Leave now.

Where's Ray?

Where are you keeping him?

Ray?

He died long ago.

You're lying!

That's not true!

He can't be dead!

Where is he?

Why would I lie to you?

He's hanging from that tree.

You monsters!

The police will arrest you all!

You think they can take down Smart?

Don't make me laugh.

I won't let you guys get away with this.

What do you think you can do?

Get lost!

Liam.

Liam, where are you?

Liam.

I can't breathe.

Liam, come help me!

Come help me now!

Ray.

Ray!

Ray, where are you?

Where are you?

Why does everyone say you're dead?

I'm strung up.

I can't breathe.

Come save me!

Where are you?

I can't see you at all!

I'm right here.

Come closer, and you'll see me.

We promised we'd leave together, didn't we?

Go away!

Go away!

Stay away!

We promised we'd leave together, didn't we?

Stay away from me!

We promised we'd leave together, didn't we?

This is not real.

We promised, didn't we?

This is not real.

This is not real.

This is not real.

This is not real.

This is not real.

We promised, didn't we?

We promised we'd leave together, didn't we?

Stop!

Are you Jun-hong Chen's father?

Yeah.

Your son has been expelled from Smart Cram School.

Pack your things.

You have to leave by noon.

That damn brat!

Useless!

Finally got yourself expelled, huh?

Told you not to fucking come here.

But you didn't listen.

You wasted my money.

Useless brat.

Just like your bitch mom.

Trash!

Trash!

Just like your mom!

Just like your mom!

Useless trash!

Trash!

Trash!

Shut up.

Don't talk about my mom like that.

I'll deal with you later.

I paid a year's rent.

You can't kick me out now!

Look at the contract.

The terms are clearly written.

One year, paid upfront.

No refunds for moving out early.

I don't care what that contract says.

You want me to move out?

Do you want to see her again?

Liam.

Liam, are you in there?

What are you doing here?

I brought you food.

Have some.

Weren't you expelled?

Why are you still here?

I have my ways.

Don't come back again.

You'll be so lonely if I leave.

Lettie,

I have no feelings for you.

I won't leave you alone.

We promised we'd leave together, didn't we?

We promised we'd leave together, didn't we?

We promised, didn't we?

Where are you going?

None of your business.

Leave!

Wait for me.

Liam, wait for me.

Don't overthink it.

I saw cable cars heading down just now.

Chloe probably went to the hospital on her own.

But why didn't she tell me?

She'll be busy after getting into the elite class.

Besides, you know what happened to her dad.

Of course she couldn't find time to tell you.

You'll see her at the hospital later.

You can talk then.

Hmm.

You set that fire?

Mayor Neil Kang won't let you off easy.

He's not some pushover.

I'd like to make a deal with you.

I burned his last blood-bubble bushes.

Professor Kang.

You have the fertilizer.

I have the fruit.

Partner up with me.

Your school will definitely thrive.

Jun-hong.

Jun-hong.

Jun-hong.

What's that look on your face?

You're really back.

I didn't want to leave you, so I came back.

Did you miss me?

I thought you hated cigarette smoke.

I hate cigarette smoke?

Aren't you afraid Steve will kill you?

No.

How about

you beat him to death first?

He's still my dad.

Your dad?

Did he treat you like a son when he beat you?

When he beat your mom,

Did he even see her as his wife?

Why didn't you ever stand up for your mom?

I wonder what the elite class is like.

I really want in.

Go with me,

okay?

Come on. Let's go together.

I really want to be an elite class student.

I should've been the one to get that spot.

No one deserves it more than me.

Just go with me.

If we both get into the elite class,

you won't be expelled.

And your mom will be happy too.

Why do we need a hammer?

Just hold it.

Students who didn't

make the top 30 in this mock exam,

please pack your things and leave the elite class.

You will go back to your original class.

Willie Zhang from Class 3.

Jared Wu from Class 9.

Holley Yang from Class 1.

Xavier Ding from Class 5.

Eddie Zhang from Class 4.

Devin Wen from Class 5.

Chloe's a total idiot.

She doesn't deserve a spot in the elite class.

The elite class only needs the two of us.

Don't worry.

She won't make it.

Hank Yang.

Elite class student.

Your name?

Becky Song.

Hickey Lin.

Your name?

Parker Wang.

Elite class student.

Attention, everyone.

Armed intruder on campus.

Attention, everyone.

Armed intruder on campus.

Hurry! In the hallway!

What happened?

What are you doing?

Put down your weapon!

Hey!

What are you doing?

Calm down.

Put down your weapon.

Listen.

Back off.

Calm down.

Calm down.

Back off.

Put down your weapon.

Catch him!

Jade.

- Put down your weapon. - Jade!

Jade, wait for me!

Jun-hong.

It's okay.

It's okay now.

Easy.

There! Go!

Where is he now?

He ran out of the campus!

You guys go that way.

Others, follow me.

Attention, everyone.

Armed intruder on campus.

He is attacking people at random.

He is Jun-hong Chen from Class 4.

He is Jun-hong Chen from Class 4.

If you see him,

call it in right away.

Jun-hong Chen from Class 4.

Jun-hong Chen from Class 4.

There!

Stop right there!

- Stop! - Stop!

He's up ahead!

- Surround him! - Stop right there!

Come on!

Stop running!

There he is.

Stop!

Stop!

That way.

Come on.

Come on.

Come on. Come on.

Where is he? Where'd he go?

Go find him!

That way. Go check it.

Check over there.

Hurry. Go check over there.

Where is he?

Why did you do that?

Don't stop me!

I need to go back to school.

Why?

Kill someone, and you pay with your life.

Do you understand?

She told me...

She told me herself...

Jade told me she'd go to the elite class with me.

You crazy?

She's dead.

If you go out now, they'll kill you.

Do you understand?

I'll go distract them.

Find a way to leave here.

Dad.

He headed south!

South!

Dad?

There!

The south!

Come on! Over here!

Faster!

- Go get him! - Come on!

- Come on! - Get him!

Come on!

Come on!

Chloe?

Chloe hasn't come yet.

But...

But she seemed really eager to come this morning.

Maybe she's still on the way

and will be here soon.

How is Mr. Wang?

Doctors said he was poisoned.

Still in critical condition.

How could that happen?

The doctor said it was rat poison.

Why so much rat poison?

Mom, what happened?

Why are you crying?

Nothing.

I just feel a little sad.

Chloe's not here yet.

Go keep Mrs. Wang company.

I'm fine.

She needs someone by her side right now.

Okay.

Sir, is Jared home now?

No.

I'm going to go pick him up now.

I need to ask him something.

I'll go with you then.

I found this in the woods.

Did Jared make it?

Yeah.

His grandma taught him how.

He often plays with dolls in the woods.

Must have dropped one there.

Thank you.

He's only 16.

But he still plays pranks like a little kid.

He's only 16?

Yeah. You know,

Jared skipped grades.

He got into junior high at 11.

Then high school two years later.

If he's that smart, why'd he come here?

Because his mom and dad are too busy.

He only has his grandma and me.

Right before the exam,

his grandma suddenly passed away.

It hit him hard.

He couldn't focus on the exam.

So,

his mom and dad sent him here.

Oh, Jared.

Liam,

why are you with my grandpa?

Why did you hang this doll in the tree?

It's a curse I cast.

It's a punishment he deserves.

He shouldn't have skipped class and made me run laps.

Do you know where Ray is?

Shh.

Jared?

Let me tell you a secret.

Ray always ran away.

I had to hang him up to make him stay.

And I met a liar.

He said I'd have playmates once I got into the elite class.

But when I did, I still had no one to play with.

I was so bored.

What liar?

You want a spot there too?

Yeah.

It's everyone's dream.

But a heads-up.

It's very boring there.

He said eating this

will grant you any wish.

That black-clad boy gave me this. He's a liar.

But I didn't eat any.

Mrs. Wang,

don't worry.

I'm sure Mr. Wang will be fine.

You know what?

Chloe came in first on the mock exam.

She got into the elite class.

She'll definitely get into a good college.

Chloe was top of the class?

That's great.

I was worried studying there would stress her out.

But she told me

she made a great friend at school.

That really relieved me.

She mentioned you a lot.

Me?

She called me a lot.

When I was too busy to answer,

she left voice messages.

I kept all of them.

Mrs. Wang,

what does this mean?

It means I'm sorry.

You really

haven't eaten any of these fruits?

Nope.

Grandma told me I shouldn't eat food from strangers.

The black-clad boy locked you inside the podium?

No, Jun-hong did it.

Then why didn't you say anything?

I was afraid he'd take revenge on me.

But...

But I've already cursed him.

What do you mean?

Wait. Where are you going? I'm going with you.

It's not for fun. Don't follow me.

Then give the jar back.

Also,

call me Lord Jared.

When there's fun, invite me along.

Where is he?

We almost caught him.

He's injured. How far could he have run?

Must still be around here.

Keep searching.

Jade.

Do you hate me?

Why do you like me?

Will you always be by my side?

Mom,

have you been eating properly?

Studying is way too hard.

My grades haven't improved much.

But hey, we have a new classmate.

Her name is Jackie Zhao.

I never thought I'd make such a good friend here.

Next voice message.

Mom, this is so funny.

Jackie came over for dinner last night.

She spoke so loudly to Dad.

I nearly went deaf.

But still, I'm touched.

She doesn't look down on me.

That ambulance just took

the seriously injured student to the hospital.

As for that drowned girl,

Mr. Qiu will send another ambulance over.

Pull over.

I need to find Chloe.

Wait.

Jackie.

Jackie!

I will be her friend forever.

Chloe!

Chloe!

Chloe!

We'll go to college together.

Work together.

Complain about our bosses together.

I'll always be by her side.

And she'll always be by mine.

Chloe.

Chloe,

wake up.

You haven't checked on your dad.

Wake up, and we'll go now.

Come on. Wake up!

Your dad is still waiting for you at the hospital.

Stop it.

It's not funny.

Wake up.

Didn't you say you want to be a doctor and make money?

Wake up, Chloe.

Code blue, Patient 6!

I need a doctor in here!

Get a doctor!

Is the doctor coming?

Already notified him.

Wake up,

Chloe.

Don't leave me alone,

please.

Wake up!

Some horrible things happened today.

The attacker was the expelled student, Jun-hong Chen.

Getting expelled was too much for him.

He suffered a mental breakdown.

Parents,

your children depend on you.

Please guide them well.

Do not let anything

pull them away from studying.

Let this tragedy be a lesson to everyone.

We must not let this happen again.

Announcement from Smart Cram School:

Starting tomorrow, we will be on high alert.

All parents must take turns patrolling in groups.

When students are not at school,

parents must supervise them strictly.

For details,

please follow the homeroom teachers' instructions.

Come out!

Come out!

Come out here, you murderer!

Your son is a murderer!

Don't just hide in there!

Come out!

Come out!

Murderer!

Come out!

Come out now!

Come out!

To meet others' expectations,

what have we sacrificed?

We're lost in the questions and answers others set for us.

We forget the world beyond exam papers

is what really matters.

Where the hell did he go?

No sign of him anywhere.

So many people have died.

All blood-bubble bushes burned down.

There are no leaves left. What do we do now?

Don't you find it odd?

Do you think someone's behind this?

I don't care who's behind it.

Whoever has the leaves is my boss.

Oh, no. He's dead.

Don't worry.

I've got the leaves.
