All language subtitles for 2002 - Playboy Women of Enron

Houston is a steel and glass megalopolis
on the Texas Gulf Coast, known worldwide

as the capital of the oil and gas
industry.

It's also home to Enron. On December 3,
2001, the energy giant filed for

bankruptcy and fired over 4,000 people.

On Friday, the New York Stock Exchange
halted trading in Enron.

So when Playboy announced they intended
to shoot a Women of Enron pictorial, The

news touched off controversy.

What sells is what's in the news, and
right now that's what's in the news. It

also generated an outpouring of
photographs from current and former

Enron employees who wanted to appear in
the magazine.

From those 300 hopefuls, Playboy
selected the women of Enron.

Christine Nielsen.

Lori Hodges.

Carrie Lorenzo.

Vanessa Schulte.

These are Playboy's Women of Enron.

So here's the deal. The Playboy crew is
in town photographing the Women of

Enron. Over to this way. That's nice.

Playboy-themed pictorials have long been
one of the magazine's most eagerly

anticipated special features.

Over the years, they've shot revealing
layouts on everyone from nurses to babes

on Broadway.

Jim Larson is the photo editor
responsible for many of them.

We like to tap into the American culture
of the moment.

And the Enron story, while it is a
business story, It is also something I

think that has intrigued the American
people.

In a Playboy pictorial, location is
everything, which is why photographer

Gen Machino chose to shoot in Houston.

There's an Enron building right there.

It's an open space.

Vulnerable, erotic, scary.

All these people are looking down at us,
and that's what makes it good.

Beautiful.

News of the Playboy shoot swept through
the town like a Texas wildfire, and

everyone had an opinion.

Would you pose for $10,000?

I would do it for nothing. I think it
would be great. I've always dreamt of

doing that. Outstanding. I look forward
to this September.

I think it's horrible that Enron girls
are posing for Playboy.

That's a personal choice.

It's all up to them.

If I were an Enron girl and I was the
material, I would do it.

If they want to pose, great for them.
Hopefully, at the very least, it'll give

them some money and some confidence to
where they can get on with their lives.

Unlike other Playboy pictorials, many of
the women featured in the Enron layout

had lost their jobs, their retirement,
and their security.

It was devastating.

It was right before Thanksgiving.

They owed me a pretty good amount of
money, which I was expecting right

before Christmas.

It was probably one of the toughest
times of my career.

It was not easy.

The Enron collapse affected me directly
just because I was one of the 4,500

people laid off in December.

And I lost probably, I think, about 10%
of my 401K was in Enron stock.

I think I probably went through a month
of disbelief and then was extremely

upset. It just made me really realize
that nothing's forever.

The pictorial was a way for many of the
women to get back on their feet.

Playboy was very, very generous by
offering us additional monies over and

above their standard fee just because of
what has happened to us financially at

Enron.

I'm sick of struggling. I feel like if I
didn't take the opportunity, I'd be an

idiot.

The girls that we were working with are
not models.

A boyfriend has taken a snapshot.

Maybe a girl has done a little swimsuit
picture for a magazine.

But they're not professional models.

We feel it's an opportunity for the
girls, and I think it actually gives the

girls some freedom in a sense. They can
make up their own minds. Can you just

walk backwards? Cool. That's nice.
That's beautiful.

I feel very lucky to have the
opportunity to pose for Playboy.

Yeah. It was a huge dream, and actually
when the fall of Enron happened, I told

a man, I was like, Playboy needs to do
the hotties of Enron.

Do that. That's so good.

A part of me has always wanted to be in
Playboy. The girl in me that likes to

take pictures.

You look so good.

They understand what it's like to be a
girl and want to have fun, and to be a

gentleman. and want to have fun with a
girl.

Nice outfit.

While most of the women chosen for the
layout lived in the Houston area,

Christine came from Portland.

The moment I got the phone call that
said, we've selected you, and I said,

hold on a second, and I was like, oh my
gosh, are you kidding? Are you sure? I

completely started freaking out. I was
shocked.

I was just happy and thankful, but I was
just like, this cannot be happening to

me.

Maya is a California girl.

Not in a million years did I think they
were going to call back. Especially when

I called Playboy and asked the status on
the article.

And they said there was 300 plus
response and they wanted 8 to 10 girls.

I thought right there, no way they're
going to call me back. But they did.

Terry was the last woman selected for
the pictorial.

And she calls New York City home.

I was floored.

I was very excited, obviously. It's a
great opportunity for any woman to

create the pages of Playboy.

I've had a couple tough breaks, and this
was a good opportunity for me. I

definitely needed a break.

Beautiful.

Most of the women selected for the
pictorial came from Enron's sales

department. A few were in
administration, and three still work for

the company.

We were looking not only for pretty
faces, but girls that had interesting

stories, a range of perhaps job titles,
things that would add to the story

editorially besides photographically.

More than half the women featured in the
layout are married or engaged.

Some have children.

All have one thing in common.

The men in their lives are remarkably
supportive.

It's like the Hugh Hefner seal of
approval.

on your girlfriend or your wife.

I've got a great support system at home.
You know, a wonderful wife who's very

supportive. And my mom and my sister and
everyone around me. So it's very

exciting.

My mom said that my dad can't get that
issue. She basically put the law down on

that one.

But we know he will.

I'm free with my body. I love my body.
So I don't have any problem with nudity

whatsoever.

When they see Janine in the magazine,
they're only going to know a small,

small portion of the Jean that I know.

They won't know about her personality
the way I do. They won't know about her

fun-loving nature the way I do. They
won't know how she walks into a room and

just lights it up the way I do, but
they'll get a sense, I hope, from the

pictures.

Tarja is a beautiful person. She belongs
in Playboy magazine.

She has a great spirit.

Everybody loves her, so I know.

Playboy's readers will love her, too.
Well, here's to Playboy magazine.

Yeah, a new beginning.

As the big day dawned, each of the women
prepared in their own special way for

what they imagined was about to happen.

This is my morning routine, making
breakfast for my honey.

Whenever I'm at home, I don't ever wear
clothes.

I like to wear them. They're kind of
restricting, and I just like to be free

and not wear anything.

So I walk around nothing on.

Thank you.

Sherry's a little bit reserved at first,
and once she becomes comfortable, she

becomes very energetic and a lot of fun.

Good.

I'm not nervous. I'm just really anxious
to get started, and I can't wait.

I'm wanting to go yesterday and tomorrow
and the next day.

It's just an absolute adrenaline rush.

Part of the excitement of posing for
Playboy is the opportunity, first and

foremost. And secondly, it's just very
exotic, erotic, and very sensual to me.

I'm ready for some good, clean fun.

Right in bed would be just fine.

Not all the ladies were quite so
confident.

I can't believe after breakfast I'm
going to be posing nude for Playboy. I'm

so nervous.

I'm just like, nobody's seen me nude
except for my husband, you know?

That's what I'm really scared about
today. It's kind of nerve-wracking.

Did you sleep okay last night?

Um, no.

I know you were moaning and groaning in
your sleep.

Ever since I decided to do this Toyboy
shoot, I've been, you know, really

nervous. I just haven't been sleeping at
all.

Calm down.

I know.

I've never been naked in front of more
than one person at a time.

That's understandable.

I just hope that I can do well like a
real model. I know they'll make me look

like one, but behind the scenes, I'm
like, eh.

You don't get much bigger than Playboy.

Some of the women were a bit more
pragmatic.

You know what? I've been so nervous that
I'm tired of being nervous.

I just want to get it over with,
basically. That's my thought.

I think that this is going to be an
experience of a lifetime.

And so far, everyone has been so
professional. I really don't think that

getting into the buff is going to be
that hard, but we'll see in a few hours.

Have fun. I will.

With words of encouragement from
boyfriends and husbands echoing in their

ears, the women of Enron left home for
the adventure of a lifetime.

I have to say that I never thought in a
million

years that me working at Enron would,
you know, lead to me posing naked in

Playboy. I mean, who would have ever put
that together?

Yeah, I think it is a turn on to pose
naked because you know that there's

going to be guys looking at it.

Not everybody, you know, has this
opportunity and I'm excited.

I thought anyone was going to be the
ruin of us all, but it's making me the

happiest person alive.

For every model at every Playboy shoot,
the first stop of the day is the makeup

artist.

And yet another Enron girl.

Come on in. The difference with this
opening that's been interesting is that

the girls have come in so focused on
what they have to do, and I found that

to be kind of refreshing.

Why don't you have a seat here, and you
can face towards the light.

We're smoking.

It's kind of nice having someone do my
hair and makeup for me.

Gareth was great.

I think he's a great way to start the
day because he's just so positive and

energetic and in such a good mood, and
so it makes you feel real good about

yourself. You look great. Thank you. You
look great with no makeup and done. You

look terrific.

I think we should just pack up and go.

No.

That's good. That's good. That's good.
Keep the tilt, and then lift your eyes

to me.

Each of the Enron women have unique
physical attributes, and it's Gareth's

job to discover them.

Well, with Christine, I wanted to bring
out the beauty of her eyes. I wanted her

eyes to pop more than anything because
she has true blue eyes.

That's very rare. Good girl. Good eyes.

Good eyes. Good eyes.

I don't consider myself a terribly sexy
person.

I kind of think of myself as a plain
Jane, really.

Beautiful. Take your time. Nice.

In my daily life, there are some days
when I'm just feeling feisty, you know,

and I do really wild eyes.

funky lips and to me it's not a sexy
thing it's for me it's just a way to

express myself for that day so um it was
good to feel what it you know what i can

do to make myself feel more sexy a
little smile in your eyes there you go

good i heard about the women of enron on
the radio and i thought could i do that

would they even want me and i thought
well this may be my only chance to you

know get into playboy for christine the
transformation was symbolic of other

changes in her life

I'm in a time of transition in my life.
I'm like, I never imagined.

You know, leaving Enron, that was a big
step.

Deciding that I wanted to get married
was a big step. And now this.

Perfect.

Christine is a great person. I mean,
she's definitely marriage material

there. Quit it.

We love you too.

Definitely.

Jesus Christ, I suck at this.

The man in my life, his name's Jesse,
and he was my high school sweetheart.

I love her very much. I made up my mind
a long time ago that this was the only

girl for me.

Jesse and I love to go hiking, and
Oregon is the best place to do that.

There are so many fabulous trails and
waterfalls. One of our favorite places

to go is Multnomah Falls, and it's just
the most spectacular view of...

what everything Oregon encompasses, the
trees, the water, the purity, and it's

just really great.

Yeah, we go hiking quite a bit. We got
the ocean, the mountains, the forest. We

got everything in Oregon.

Who do you think will be doing this in
Italy?

Jesse feels wonderful about me being in
the magazine.

Cool.

Good. And then when I was selected, he
thought that was just the neatest thing.

He said, you know, who wouldn't want to
be married to someone who isn't white?

I can't wait until the issue comes out.
I mean, that'll be one of the greatest

things that ever happened to me.

Makeup and hair aren't Garrett's only
job.

On a shoot such as this, where the
models are not professionals, his most

important responsibility is friend,
mentor, and cheerleader to each of the

women. That's a package deal.

I think you're enjoying this.

It's fun. How can I not enjoy this?

You're a beautiful woman with nice skin.
I need to bond with the model. I want

them to know that they can trust me.

So far, so good?

Good. Good.

And we have to bond, whether it be as
friends, as a brother, as a father

-daughter type figure, as girlfriends.

Look at this girl's hair.

What a goddess.

It's making my blush.

Whatever works, I've got to go with
that.

I'll be your friend for the day. Your
best friend will look out for you, too.

So you're going to be around the whole
time? I'll be with you all day.

That enables them to perform better.
That enables them to relax.

And that way we get the best picture. I
love that.

So what's it like for someone that's not
necessarily a professional model to have

people doing what I'm doing to you,
rubbing, spraying you, rubbing you down,

touching you up?

I love it. You like it, huh?

I like it a lot.

While it does help, all the bonding in
the world can't really prepare the girls

for what comes next.

Getting naked in front of a bunch of
strangers.

I'm not used to it yet, but I can tell
once we get going, I'll go with the flow

and feel better.

Good. Nice.

That's beautiful. Good.

I'm starting to feel more comfortable
being exposed.

The worst part of the day is when they
told me, take my clothes off right there

in the middle of the floor in front of
everybody.

I couldn't believe it. Okay, get naked.

Here's your outfit.

That's the whole thing. This is the
whole thing.

In addition to producing Playboy's Women
of Enron shoot, Debbie May is also the

production's wardrobe stylist.

It's her job to get the girls undressed.

Okay, this is actually a belt, a crazy
belt. We're going to put this around

your waist.

Well, when the girl gets naked for the
first time, it's a scary moment for

them, although with Taria, we had a
light situation, and they had to go, and

I just looked at her, and I said, get
naked.

And she did.

You know, when Gen's photographing you,
you can play around with this. Is she

kidding?

That's what I was going to ask. I
thought Debbie was being funny.

But no one else laughed, so why
hesitate?

The more you hesitate, the worse it is.
It's like jumping into a pool.

I just was like, okay, what?

I'll just put this up against her. Tell
me what you think.

For a minute, she was like, oh, my God,
I'm really doing this. I think that was

her thought. But she was great. She was
a trooper. She got naked. It was

perfect. She looks great.

She's ready for action.

Beautiful. I love Playboy. I love the
way they make the women look. I love the

funny articles because guys really
believe that stuff.

Okay, okay, okay.

Nice, nice, nice.

That's okay.

That's okay. You're free. I didn't
expect this to be so good. You're free

to move.

I have a lot of respect for the women
who do choose to do Playboy because it

kind of shows a higher standard for
yourself if you're interested in showing

yourself new to the world.

Cool. Nice.

She loves doing this.

I have become a woman who's very secure
with herself.

I spend a lot of time always wondering
about what people think about me. And

I'm finally starting to realize as I get
older that it really doesn't matter.

Wow.

You're making my toes curl.

So now I'm starting to become very
secure with myself, and I'm happy with

that because it makes me want to do more
instead of being scared to jump out and

try new things.

That's even better.

Great. Let's do that again.

Taria is used to overcoming challenges.

In her life, she's had more than her
share of them.

I think Taria is super one because she
has endured quite a bit of physical pain

in her life.

As a kid, they told me I had a vascular
necrosis and what it is is a

deterioration of bones in your body. I
spent a lot of time in my early 20s

walking with crutches and using a cane.

Any long walking I had to do, I had to
use a wheelchair.

How'd the photo shoot go?

Oh, the photo shoot went really well.

The most fun that I can have is a
beautiful day outdoors.

Well, you can probably use a good bike
ride, right?

Considering I haven't eaten.

Sometimes we just like to ride through
really nice neighborhoods and look at

the houses. We call them our
inspirational rides.

And sometimes we go out there and really
sweat and pump it and ride, you know,

really hard.

You ready to eat? Yeah.

And I'd have to say another passion of
mine is eating.

I'm from the south. I'm a southern girl.
My roots are in Louisiana. So any Cajun

Creole food I can get my hands on, if I
can get some crawfish.

What's the saying?

Peel it, eat it, suck it.

Suck the juice off the head.

I am very excited about the opportunity
the world is going to have to see this

gorgeous woman here.

That's beautiful.

You know, I think she is the bomb.

Good.

Wow, that's really strong.

Playboy is the biggest of the big, and,
you know, you jump right out there and

go on to the Super Bowl, you know?

Once the women are comfortable being
naked on set, the real work begins.

You know, it gets on my nerves when the
photographer's not ready.

Gien Nishino is a freelance photographer
from New York who's been given the

enviable assignment of bringing the
women of Enron to the pages of Playboy.

That's it, yeah, switch that hair.

That's so good.

All these girls, you know, they have
something in common.

They're all confident, they're all
totally excited, of course.

They're all different in their
individual way.

Very happy, she's very happy.

And there's so many forms and levels and
angles of sensuality. It's amazing to

see. Bring your head up. Yeah.

Good. That's one.

It's a sense of vulnerability.

They're fresh.

And there's a lot of appreciation there
as well. Once they see the picture, they

go. Wow, that's mean.

Do I get to at least take one Polaroid
home?

Probably not.

Oh, darn it.

As soon as they would look at the
Polaroids, I was like, let me see.

That's the best part is actually seeing
the product that everyone else is going

to see. You know, that's what they're
going to see. I want to see that now,

too. I want to see how it looks.

The pictures are beautiful, and I'm a
very lucky girl. It's the coolest day. I

feel like a princess.

Why did I want to do this?

That's a very good question. It happened
so quickly, I really didn't have time to

think. But the only thing I could say to
all my friends, who wouldn't want to do

this? What woman would not want to grace
the covers of one of the most famous

magazines in the world?

Good, that's good. I like that level of
look.

That's beautiful.

You're not pushing so hard, you're just
being really sexy with your eyes only.

You know, not to mention, it helps out
financially.

And also, who knows what this is going
to lead to. I mean, there's a lot of

problems with it. And, you know, you
never know. Maybe this, you know, will

snowball into me revamping my career.
I'm not exactly sure.

I'm just kind of taking it day by day
right now.

That's great. Yeah.

Breathe in.

That's it.

What we wanted to replicate is a
corporate feeling that's a bit

masculine. She looked really powerful.

Sexy. Very sexy. And it worked.

Beautiful. Stay like that. Yeah, just
work your face.

I had so much fun. And the role that
they had me play was pretty much my

personality, which was perfect. The
chair should go this way.

Carrie has amazing legs.

So we're going to have Carrie sitting in
a chair with her gorgeous legs up on the

table, having a meeting with her boss.

And she's probably going to have her
skirt down and her shirt open.

I kept her wardrobe simple.

Yeah, there you go.

Beautiful. It was absolutely beautiful.

I was not nervous at all. I thought I
was going to be petrified.

And then, you know, before I knew it,
I'm like walking around like totally

naked. It was very funny.

She lost her skirt.

Carrie, for me, is the mayor of New
York.

Basically, wherever we walk, people come
up, Hi, Carrie! Hey, Carrie!

Give me a hug, Carrie!

Tell you the truth, I look at Carrie as
the real sex in the city. I mean, this

girl is the down-to-earth real deal.

There's no city in the world that has an
energy like it does here. There's no

other place that you can do anything you
possibly want. You can eat, you can

dance, you can shop at any hour of the
day.

I love to play market shop and antique,
and I love to go to the opera.

There's so many things to do. It's a
cliche, but it's a city that never

sleeps, and it's my home now. You can
make it here. You can make it anywhere,

baby.

I would not be the word for Carrie.
Carrie is very outgoing and fun-loving.

She loves having people around her. She
loves entertaining.

She loves cooking up a storm. She'll
want to have, like, ten people over and

just cook for everybody and cook enough
for days, you know?

Carrie's unique. She's got a warmth
about her that just radiates people.

She's natural.

She's down to earth.

She's a leader, not a follower.

So I'm flying to Houston this weekend to
do my pictorial for Playboy. As an

employee of Enron, she was on top of the
world. I mean, she had a great job,

prestige, and then to have it ripped
away the way it was, she made a positive

out of a negative, and that's her
character.

And if it doesn't work out for you, you
always have those magic tricks you know

how to do.

I am a very, very lucky girl to be
surrounded by some really great people

and get an opportunity for a second
chance because I've had a couple of

tough breaks. But when you're good to
yourself and others, it sounds corny,

but it comes back. It's a perfect
example.

So I'm going to put this here.

I have stockings that go with this, but
I'm going to wait.

Oh, that's beautiful.

Yeah.

Believe it or not, one of the most
important aspects of any Playboy shoot

is wardrobe.

Wardrobe. The point of having clothing
in a nude photo shoot is to accentuate

the positive things about a person's
body.

Make the photograph more colorful, make
it more exciting.

Notice this is a sub-69 jumpsuit.

And I think men like that. I think men
look at the magazine and wish they could

just like move that thing over just a
little bit. So the clothing is more like

a tease.

So now we're going to dress into like
the corporate world of Playboy. Okay.

In Vanessa's case, the wardrobe also
helped to reinforce the pictorial's

underlying theme. I'm sure if you wanted
a raise, you'd probably wear this bra.

Vanessa reminded me of the...

Perfect corporate girl. She looks very
natural. And I wanted to put her in a

corporate environment, definitely.

But I wanted to have her something where
she just looks so sexy when she opened

up that jacket of hers.

Okay, now put this over the whole deal.

So I wanted to put the whole garter belt
look underneath because I think guys

fantasize about garter belts a lot and
what's underneath that corporate woman's

skirt. They'll never know what's
underneath.

Or maybe they will.

I think the corporate image was perfect
for me, just because I always think of

myself as trying to work my way up in
the corporate world.

Let's go do some following.

Oh, wow.

Cheer up.

Vanessa, she's really innocent looking.

She's like the perfect, beautiful girl
that you want to see in a corporate

office. The kind that you can have a
fantasy about.

I love this underneath stuff. Who's
going to say that?

You got to buy it for me.

Can't argue with that.

Yeah. Good.

Beautiful. Doing what we did today, I
guess, was kind of, in a way, building

your self-confidence to do something a
little different.

Yeah.

I don't normally think of myself as
being sexy, maybe cute or pretty, but

not sexy. So I think today will help me
maybe dress a little different or think

of myself a little different.

Good. Eyes away.

Kind of makes you feel good about
yourself, too. So it's kind of fun to do

something a little daring, a little
something on the edge, and just kind of

have fun with it.

Good. Oh, that's perfect.

Very strong.

I have yet to tell my family about it.
My parents are extremely conservative. I

think my sisters would probably just
say, that's cool, whatever you want to

do. But I'm not really sure how my
parents would take it, so I haven't

wrote that yet.

Fantastic.

I'm studying right now to go back to
grad school, take my GMAT, and go get my

MBA and kind of stay on that career path
for a few more years before I'm ready to

start a family.

I would say I'm a pretty adventurous
person because I like to, even though I

am kind of straight-laced and
conservative, every once in a while I

like to do something a little crazy.

My naughtiest memory would probably be
having sex on the patio in the backyard.

She's an angel from God.

The man in my life is my husband, Greg
Schulte.

Vanessa is probably one of the most
incredible women I've ever met.

From the first time I saw her, I fell in
love with her.

And she's just been great ever since.
Every day seems to get better and

better.

She's definitely a Girl Scout.

Somebody that's never even smoked a
cigarette in her entire life. So she's

definitely a godsend.

Working just like that. That's perfect.

I'm going to support her 100% and
looking forward to seeing the magazine.

Like wardrobe, location also plays a
huge role in developing the mood of a

Playboy pictorial.

Chris Young is the production set
stylist.

It's really essential that in a shoot
like this... You don't just create a

nude figure in a room. You create an
entire fantasy, a visual fantasy.

But the most important thing is that the
viewer is incorporated into that

fantasy. And I think in this job it's
been really fun to get to know each

model and to see what might be
appropriate for their personalities and

not just think of them as a model.

We chose to work in a hangar because
that woman is a pilot.

And so we wanted to show the personality
behind the model, not just that she was

beautiful, but also she's a pilot.

Janine is a commercial airline pilot.
That's why we've got this cute little

plane for her to bop around as a prop.

Look down again.

Take your time.

I love aviation.

I love to fly.

It gives me a sense of freedom.

I can go anywhere, and it's a rush when
you land.

Different weather situations, different
airports, meet different people.

Yeah, there you go.

Wow, beautiful.

Good. It's awesome. I'm having a great
time. It's nice and cool.

I have this awesome outfit.

It is just spectacular.

Oh, that's good. That's cool.

That's right.

What are you going to do with me?

Just get more naked, I guess. Are they
down enough?

Janine seems to be oblivious to all of
us around here, and there are a lot of

people around here today.

But I think she's just having a great
time, and she's the star today, and

she's working with our photographer, and
it doesn't matter to her. Good, good,

good, yeah.

I could have allowed myself to feel
vulnerable.

However, I just pictured everyone else
in the room in their underwear.

So I was fine with that.

The pictures are awesome. Yeah, but
you're awesome.

It's a really easy situation to shoot
her from all different angles.

Good. I mean, it was just incredible.
Her tonality. She works out. She's

totally fit.

She's confident. Beautiful eyes.

She was so sexy.

absolute adrenaline rush.

Every waking moment I am a very
adventurous person.

My adventures are flying, sailing, scuba
diving, driving fast cars.

One of Janine's favorite expressions is,
I feel the need for speed. She loves

going fast in fast cars, she loves going

She deserves to be in Playboy. The
collapse of Enron has its silver lining,

and that is the fact that Janine is
going to get to go in Playboy, one of

her life's ambitions.

I love the way that thing is blowing in
the breeze.

Posing for Playboy was exactly what I
expected.

Absolutely fabulous day.

The best part of the day was...

When I was able to actually see what we
were creating and how beautiful the

aircraft and the flight suit went
together, it was perfect. I couldn't

have asked for a better day.

Just when everything seemed to be going
great, the media showed up.

Houston, we have a problem.

Well, we were hoping to get pictures of
the girls and a little bit of a shoot,

you know, without interfering with you
all, but obviously that's not the case

today. The news was out there, and I
didn't want to be on the news, so...

Right, we're trying to be private, and
then we came here. We surprised three

different news crews here.

It's all been nervousness. Because it
leaked out, and so we had to sneak

around from the back way, and we're
still trying to hide from paparazzi and

news crews.

Well, this is, I guess, another aspect
or another angle to the Enron story. It

has affected so many people across the
country. And this is probably an aspect

of Enron we've never seen before, the
women of Enron. And I think many people

will be interested in that.

Jim, what was Playboy's interest in, I
guess, unveiling the women of Enron?

Well, Enron, I think, is certainly in
the American culture now. It's an

ongoing story, and Playboy being
innovative, we like to tap into the

American culture as regularly as we can
in the context of Playboy magazine.

Mom, please forgive me.

I'm feeling a little embarrassed, a
little nervous, and a little like a

movie star, a naked movie star.

Actually, this is the first time we've
been bombarded by the news, and we were

expecting it, although it set us back an
hour, simply because we couldn't even

get in. So many cars parked all over the
place.

My ex hasn't been a freak, I'm sure.

Posing for a Playboy pictorial is not as
easy as it looks.

seasoned professionals find it
uncomfortable at best.

Can you throw your right foot over the
edge here, this way? Yeah.

For amateurs, it can be downright
unpleasant.

Modeling is the hardest job there is,
besides construction or something.

Okay, throw your booty back.

I was a little embarrassed taking my
clothes off.

It felt kind of vulnerable, and it felt
like being naked in front of a bunch of

strangers.

Functional slide.

The posing is like doing squats for five
hours.

That's how hard it is.

I mean, because you're stuck in your
back, stick your butt out, do this, do

that, and then now we've got to get the
right facial expression, and I just

don't know if it's coming. I don't know
what to do. He's upset with me.

As you can tell, he's rubbing my feet.

She tried real hard, really, really
hard. It was difficult for her only

because she tried so hard and she really
wants it. That often happens.

Only friendly eyes.

Friendly, sexy eyes. One more time.

Good.

All right. We found a really, really
strong angle on her. And we got the body

locked in really good. So all we need is
that love in the eyes and the perfect

breath. Very happy. She's very happy.

Okay. I knew that it was going to be a
little weird at first, but I didn't know

I was going to be getting a foot
massage, and I didn't know the news crew

was going to be here. But other than
that, it was pretty much what I

expected.

That's it. Good, good, good, good.

Okay. At first, I was hesitant because I
have a son, and I wanted to hurt him.

He's real protective of me. But I think
once he does find out that I think he'll

understand that, well, I did it for the
money.

Are you going to get a lot of money? A
lot more than Enron owes me, that's for

sure. Oh, my God. Are you going to be
completely naked?

Yeah, but it's going to be tasteful. I
guess I better get over the shyness

right about now.

I'm most nervous about being naked in
front of a bunch of people I barely

know. I know what my nipples are.

They look better. A little bit hard in
here.

Everything's hard in here.

Isn't this fun and easy to do?

Lori's wild.

Lori's a wild chick, and ever since I've
met her, she's been that way.

We'd come home from clubbing or
whatever, and we'd get into the house,

and all of a sudden, her and her friends
are all over the house karaoke-ing.

My naughtiest memory would probably be
when I was in Cancun, and I was with my

boyfriend, and we took this girl home
with us. It was pretty naughty.

If she was a lesbian, she'd be having
fun. I'm not. Definitely not. I'm a

lesbian.

Nice. Nice, nice, nice.

Well, her parents are going to kill her.
I guess her fiancé is on board with

everything, but still, you never know.
My parents don't know.

Actually, I told my stepdad. He's not
real conservative.

He was in shock for a second, and then
my mom is so worried about what

everybody thinks, so she'll be pretty
upset.

She'll have to get out.

I feel great. It's definitely bragging
rights. On the other hand, I'm sure I'll

have a future of all my friends saying,
hey, guess who I was with last night.

So, you know, I'm sure bubbles ahead.

But that's good.

It's jealousy.

Everyone who's ever worked on a Playboy
shoot agrees on two things.

It's a lot of fun. That was fantastic.

And the best job on the set is the
motion guy.

Yaren's has got the best job, and I'm
working my way to get it.

He's able to moisturize her body from
head to toe, and I can only shoot her,

so that's not right.

One man's job is another man's fantasy.

Oh, yeah, there's a bunch of people
right now who would like to be the

lotion guy.

I should get an assistant that does the
neck down, you know what I mean?

I want to be that.

No, no, no, no. This girl's mine. I want
to change my job.

You've got to stay away.

That's definitely one of the perks of my
business, being able to lotion the girls

down, but you have to be careful on how
you touch them.

I did study massage for a while, so I
know how to touch someone's body without

them being uncomfortable or reading into
it the wrong way. And

even doing makeup touch-ups, whether it
be around

the nipple area or around the private
area.

There's a way that you approach them.
There's a way that you touch them. You

have to be almost like a doctor.

I'm trying to see if I can see it.

He enjoyed that.

That was enjoyable for him.

My earliest memory of Playboy magazine
would be, I think, back in high school.

I was thinking to myself, gosh, do they
really look that perfect? Can anybody be

that perfect?

I am definitely not a professional
model. This is my first time.

And, you know, it's hard, and I thought,
to be honest with you, I know it sounds

silly, but smiling and looking all
natural, it's not all that easy.

The worst part is I didn't get much
sleep last night, and I think it's

catching up to me, and I'm dead tired,
but I hope I don't look it or try not to

look it. But that's the worst part.
That's my fault. I just couldn't sleep

last night. Can you roll your hips a
little bit more this way?

That's nice.

There was a funny thing that happened in
the beginning when she took this

position on top of that little chair.

And it was closer to 1 o'clock in the
afternoon, and I was getting hungry.

So the way she was laying there on top
reminded me of sushi.

So as soon as I said that, she loves
sushi. So we connected right away. And

then soon our makeup artist came over,
and Garrett, he put all kinds of wasabi

moisturizer over her. That was perfect.

We just got deeper and deeper into it,
and then soon she turned out to be a

beautiful sashimi laying over this
chair.

That's it. Good.

Good. It was great. We laughed a lot.

I was born in Indonesia.

I've been here since I was 11. My
favorite thing is to spend time with my

daughter and my family.

I'm more of a homebody and a mother
type.

Being a mom to a four-year-old is great.
I love it. I love being a mom.

Together, they're pretty much as one. I
mean, they're just a unit.

They go everywhere together. They play
together.

She plays with her, and it's her
girlfriend.

model or be in that type of magazine.

I don't think it's terrible at all. I
think if you're blessed with that

beauty, you can share it. Not everybody
gets chosen, so I was really proud of

her.

One of the main reasons Playboy came to
Houston in the first place was the Enron

building itself.

There was no way they were going to
leave without using it in the pictorial.

Right behind us are the Enron buildings,
the Enron towers they're called

sometimes, and our rooftop garage, and
we are the only ones up here. It is

great. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, yeah.

Being here is overwhelmingly
exhilarating, and it's kind of

yummy to think someone could be
watching.

As long as you're moving, no problem.

I'll just pick the shot.

No one at Enron knows what I'm doing.

I didn't want to say anything because a
lot of people at Enron are conservative,

and I didn't want to hear it. This is my
experience. This is my time, and I

didn't want anyone's negative energy to
float into my positive energy.

The only person that knows is my
hairdresser.

Oh, that's good. That's beautiful.

She's a great Playboy model.

She's fun. She's excited. She has great
nervous energy. And she's just loving

it.

Until today, I've never been naked in
front of a group of people.

And I came out here, and I think there's
like 10 people here.

But I didn't feel like I was naked. I
felt very comfortable and very at ease.

And I love it. It doesn't bother me one
bit.

How's the water temperature?

The water temperature is nice.

I am an Aquarian, free spirit, very
open.

I have three tattoos.

I have one on my ankle, and it's the
Chinese symbol for live the day.

And that is a huge aspect of my
decision-making.

Just walking around.

I want to capture each moment. I want to
make sure that I live in the moment.

Never feel stagnant or dead.

Living in Houston is nice.

There's a lot of opportunities to make
money, have a good time.

They have a lot of festivals, they have
a lot of theater, a lot of eclectic

parts of town that you can find unique
things that you can't find anywhere

else. When I first met Sherry, I think
one of the things that drew

me to her was that she was very
free-spirited.

She was very comfortable with herself as
an individual.

She was very open-minded.

I have no doubt that people will be able
to see Her sexiness, the way I see it.

How was it? It was fun. You had fun?

I had an awesome time. Yeah? Yeah. I
hope that posing for Playboy changed my

future. Nice. I have little dreams here
and there, daydreams.

I hope it'll take me somewhere and I get
to do some fun things. I had such a good

time.

So here we are, day seven, eight, or
nine, I forget.

We've gathered up five of our women of
Enron. We're in front of the Enron

headquarters, taking a little quick
picture for our layout. 8.30 Sunday

morning is a tough call, but we're all
here doing it.

Each girl has been completely different.

Each girl has been special, and I have
seen qualities in each girl that I

really like.

For Shari, I loved her sexual
confidence. I mean, this girl was proud

of her body, and she reminded me of like
a millennium flower child.

Talia. Probably one of the nicest, most
genuine, big-hearted people I've ever

met.

Vanessa. When Vanessa walked into the
room, no hair and makeup done, I thought

she was beautiful.

This girl is like the true girl next
door.

Janine, when we did the airplane shot.

This woman kicked ass.

She was totally sexually confident. The
same kind of confidence, but in a

different way than Shari.

So each girl has had something really
unique and very, very special.

That was a wrap.

By the time the shoot was over, Guillen
had taken over 5,000 photographs.

It's Jim Larson's job to carefully
review each and every one of them. It's

part of my job to physically look at
every picture that we've taken.

This might surprise some people, but I
always look at the face first.

And then I travel down the body and make
sure that everything is falling into

place and it's the most flattering to
the girl.

What I do then is edit down this
enormous amount of film to a small group

of pictures that I can then present to
the head of our photo department for his

blessing.

And then it goes into a layout process
and all the different aspects of this

come together.

And then it continues on down to a
number of other desks to approve and

eventually to Mr. Hefner to see.

I mean, it's kind of Superman look.
That's the concept, you know,

superwoman, corporate environment.

Embracing the amateur spirit of the
pictorial, Playboy decided to put an

Enron girl on the magazine's cover.

The lucky lady was Christine.

Well, it was really exciting when they
asked me to come to L.A. and shoot the

cover. They called me on a Wednesday and
said, can you be in L.A. on Thursday to

shoot the cover on Friday? And do you
want to see the mansion?

And I was like, yeah, of course I want
to. It was a fantastic experience.

I really didn't have time to think about
it and what that might mean for me in

the long run in terms of people knowing
who I was. Because even if you don't buy

a Playboy, you...

If you're at the magazine store, you'll
see who's on the cover. And it wasn't

until after I shot it and after I came
home from staying at the mansion did I

kind of let it sink in that I actually
am going to be on the cover of Playboy.

Since posing for Playboy's cameras, the
women of Enron have had some time to

look back on their experience.

The adventure with Playboy has just been
astonishing.

Everybody has just been so cordial, so
friendly.

It's like being around, you know, people
that I've known for a long time.

This is 15 minutes of fame for me right
now, you know. So losing my job, I lost

confidence, you know. It would
definitely help, you know, toughen up my

height a little bit and get me back out
there.

As their lives finally return to normal,
many of the women have used their new

sense of empowerment to put Enron in the
past.

My future aspirations right now is to
finish my second bachelor's degree and

then move on to the master's program in
nursing and become a midwife.

I really want to be able to say that
today I helped a woman bring her baby

into the world.

I want to save animals. I can't walk by
a stray animal without trying to save

it. I really like art and I love
painting, so I think it would be nice to

own an art gallery.

Finishing my degree has always been a
big deal for me.

It'd be nice to have some money in the
bank and be able to go to school full

time. I think maybe it'll open up doors
for modeling. I'm not sure, but I feel

like I've accomplished something big
doing this for Playboy. I wish I could

see everyone's face when they open the
magazine and see my photo in there. It's

really exciting to think that people are
looking at it all over.

She looks incredibly hot. Wow, she's
really pretty and she's really sexy.

overwhelming, exciting, erotic feeling.

I think when Playboy publishes our Women
of Enron story, it will be front page

news. And I think people will be
intrigued to get perhaps past the

business page and actually see some real
faces who were part of Enron, and

I think that's what's going to make it
successful.
