[Episode 16]

Qingyu,

you wanted to see me?

Three years ago,

you deliberately approached Qingyi,

framed him for murder,

and caused the Huo family

to sever his hand tendons.

Today,

I want you to pay him back

for everything you did to him.

You cut the wrong place.

Why did you come back?

To continue deceiving Qingyi or me?

I am indeed not Fang Mulan.

The real Fang Mulan

passed away long ago.

The Huo family killed her.

No wonder you won't let the Huo family go,

even at the cost of once again

putting Qingyi in fatal danger.

I never thought of hurting him!

But the Huo family

must die.

You've met Mr. Fang.

To him,

I am like his daughter.

And only I

can avenge his daughter.

No matter who I am,

the marriage alliance between the Fang and Murong families

will not change.

At this point,

do you really think I would still marry you?

Aren't you afraid I'll kill you?

If you kill me,

Qingyi will never forgive you.

Killing you

would dirty my hands.

I will break off the engagement with you.

Once you step out of this door,

without the Murong family's protection,

in the vast Nancheng,

there are plenty of people who want to kill you.

Now,

get out of the Murong family immediately.

Get out!

You mean

you want our family to help the Huo family through this crisis?

Is there a problem?

You're dreaming.

Grandfather said that 12 years ago,

our two families did something big together.

Grandfather also told me to pass on a message:

if you want to stand by and watch the Huo family die,

you'd better weigh the consequences.

Once this matter is exposed,

both our families will be ruined.

Taking someone down with us

wouldn't be a loss for the Huo family.

Also...

Our Huo family doesn't like to take advantage of others.

You have one less thing to worry about now.

It's truly satisfying.

Of course.

Besides,

he had no reason to refuse us.

So, Young Master,

what's our next plan?

[High-Society Love Scandal!]

It's time to deal with that bitch, Fang Mulan.

[First Young Master Murong Coldly Calls Off the Engagement, Miss Fang Leaves the Mansion in Fury]

Thank you.

He was so close

to cutting your artery.

They say Principal Murong is gentle and refined.

How could he be so ruthless?

Don't forget

that before he was a principal,

he was a 15-year-old young marshal

of the Cheng Army who fought on the battlefield.

At least he promised

he wouldn't kill you.

Help me send a telegram to Nanyang.

Also,

tell the sisters

to keep a low profile during this time

and protect themselves.

Okay.

I just saw many people outside the hotel

scouting the area and keeping tabs on you.

I saw some of them

at the Huo family and the orphanage.

Because of the vault,

the Huo family holds a grudge against me.

They were only holding back because of the Murong family.

Now that the engagement is broken,

as soon as they find an opportunity,

they will strike at me.

How dare the Huo family?

You are the eldest miss of the Fang family.

Murong Qingyu only needs to tell the Huo family

that I'm not Fang Mulan.

Even if he doesn't,

the Huo family has countless ways

to get rid of me without anyone knowing.

So what do we do now?

The Huo family's arms business is their greatest source of confidence.

Right now,

the war in the south is critical,

but the bank is suffering severe losses from a run.

There will inevitably be problems with the Huo family's arms.

When it affects the war

and angers the higher-ups,

the Huo family

will reach a dead end.

But whether it's the Fang family or the arms,

it won't solve our immediate problem.

Man proposes,

God disposes.

What we need to do now

is stall for time

and wait.

How do we do it?

Go to the hospital

and visit a patient.

[Ji'an Hospital]

[Ji'an Hospital]

Don't move. You still have a fever.

Where is Miss Fang?

The doctor said

you shouldn't get emotional now.

Stop thinking about her

and focus on recovering.

Miss Fang,

you can't go in!

I brought some food for Qingyi.

Worried that Qingyi might not have an appetite while recovering,

I specifically went to a midnight snack stall

and bought his favorite tofu pudding.

The servants

can take care of these things.

You two are getting married soon.

Why are you acting like enemies?

We are doing great.

Mulan,

now that the food is here,

you should go back.

I will take care of Qingyi.

From now on,

we won't need you.

Have a good rest.

Miss Fang, may I

bother you, while I'm in the hospital,

to bring me a bowl of tofu pudding every day?

Qingyi,

don't be childish.

Qingyu, you know me.

I'm...

afraid of bitter medicine

and painful injections.

If I can't eat the tofu pudding

Miss Fang brings me every day,

I'll

never get better.

Nonsense.

Then I'll buy it myself.

Doctor!

Doctor!

What are you doing?

I just brought a bowl of tofu pudding.

What are you afraid of?

You didn't tell him about us breaking off the engagement.

Are you afraid it would affect his recovery?

Well then,

let's help him recover together.

Don't agitate him

and make him worry about me.

What do you want?

On my way to the hospital,

the Huo family's men followed me all the way,

itching to make a move.

I think they'll come after me in the next few days.

Send your men to protect me.

I need to buy 10 days.

[Ji'an Hospital]

When that woman comes out,

find somewhere out of sight

and take her away immediately.

It doesn't matter if she's injured or crippled.

Just leave her alive for the Young Master.

Understood.

She's out.

Boss.

Didn't she and the Murong family call off the engagement?

Why are they still together?

[Ji'an Hospital]

Are we still going to make a move?

Let's wait and see.

Just 10 days.

Then I'll give you 10 days.

I will temporarily arrange for you

to stay at Zarry Grand Hotel.

The Cheng Army has informants there.

But remember,

everything I do

is just for my brother.

It has absolutely nothing to do with you.

If in 10 days,

you continue to pester Qingyi,

there will be no need for the Huo family to act.

I will end this myself.

It's been days.

[Ji'an Hospital]

She is protected by the Cheng Army every day.

We don't have a chance.

Cut the crap and just follow her.

[Zarry Grand Hotel]

[Ji'an Hospital]

What exactly happened

between you and my brother?

I told you.

We just had a little argument.

You're lying.

A little argument?

Is it necessary for Qingyu

to have so many people watching you every day?

The most important thing for you now

is to rest and recover.

Qingyu and I

will handle the rest.

What about the Huo family?

Through Hong Fang Bank,

can you take them down?

I don't know

what agreement you reached with Qingyu,

but since you've come to take care of me every day,

you must have your own plan.

Let me guess.

You want Qingyu to protect you?

Or...

are you trying to buy yourself time?

Couldn't it be that

I just want to see you

and take care of you?

I hope so.

Even though I'm stuck in this ward,

I can guess

there's a storm brewing outside.

How long do you think Qingyu

can shield you from the rain?

Do you think you can

shield me from the rain?

A good rain comes at the right time.

If it means the clouds will part

and the skies will clear in the end,

then getting drenched in a heavy downpour

will be worth it.

[Zarry Grand Hotel]

Has the victim's identity been confirmed?

Yes.

But...

you'd better go and see for yourself.

We received a report this morning.

Our men came to check

and found it was Eldest Young Master Huo.

He was killed by a single gunshot.

This is a serious matter.

Inspector Li,

what should we do now?

Any clues?

According to the Huo family's speculation,

the killer is...

Miss Fang.

Fang Mulan?

Is there any evidence?

It's said that Young Master Huo and Miss Fang

have been at odds lately.

And the crime scene

happened to be the back alley of Zarry Grand Hotel.

Coincidentally,

Miss Fang is staying at Zarry Grand Hotel.

Master,

please take care of yourself.

It's already been confirmed.

The police have surrounded Zarry Grand Hotel

to find that bitch from the Fang family.

Go.

Take that bitch here!

I'll tear her to pieces!

-Yes! -Yes!

Yes!

[Ji'an Hospital]

[Ji'an Hospital]

Why hasn't she come to bring me tofu pudding today?

Did anyone

come by this morning?

No.

It's been 10 days.

As agreed,

Murong Qingyu's men protecting you have withdrawn.

But there's still no news from the Fang family in Nanyang.

As for the Huo family's arms,

there's no news of any trouble in the south.

Police.

Open the door.

The police?

Not the Huo family?

Go downstairs.

Chase her.

They are coming for me.

I'll lead them away.

Let's meet up at Dongjiadu.

I'm here to change the dressing.

[Special Care Unit]

Oh no! He's gone!

Look for him!

Over there!

Let's go!

Don't shoot!

Keep running.

Miss Fang,

you're suspected of murder.

Please go to the station with me for investigation.

Investigation?

Inspector Li, do you really think

that with Huo Zongqi dead,

the Huo family will let you investigate me?

Then how did you know that?

You gave yourself away.

Huo Zongqi died near Zarry Grand Hotel.

This was deliberately planned by someone.

Someone is clearly trying to frame me.

If I go with you today,

will I end up dying an unjust death

in the police station tomorrow?

You witch, you killed our Young Master,

and you still have the nerve to deny it?

Come back to the station with me first.

I promise,

before the truth comes out,

I will protect you.

It's been 10 days.

The investigation into the Huo family's vault has made no progress.

Why should I trust your promise?

Inspector Li,

why waste words with this witch?

Let us take her away.

Our Master said

this bitch

must pay with her life for killing our Young Master.

Miss Fang!

Freeze!

Calm down first.

Don't make another mistake.

Talk to me about right and wrong

after you prove the Huo family's guilt.

Now,

let me go.

Why did you come out?

If getting drenched in heavy rain

can't bring clear skies,

what are you going to do?

Qingyi,

don't get involved in this for now.

Miss Fang is now

a murder suspect.

Today,

I must take her away.

Young Master Qingyi, are you going against the Huo family?

Even Qingyu wouldn't dare do that!
