these new neighbors.

At first, I saw the bike and the
basketball and the piano and was so

excited a kid my age would be moving in.

But then I started thinking, what if we
don't have anything in common?

What if we can't be friends?

of ideas from what you're observing

when you haven't even met this new
neighbor.

That would be like deciding what kinds
of seedlings these are before actually

seeing the fruit.

But it's hard not to wonder.

time when assumptions were made.
