over the eternal rainbow bridge is the fabled land of Asgard.

Within this legendary realm, we find regal Odin.

I have a plan, Sire. If Thor should meet a more beautiful, more desirable girl,

he will forget the earthling Jane Foster.

The Enchantress.

Of course, Sire.

Go thou, Loki. Her mission granted.

The Enchantress may succeed where brute force has failed.

Odin commands you to win the heart of Don Blake,

and thus gain the love of Thor as well.

How you hate Thor, Loki, but no matter, I shall go.

For long, I have hoped to conquer the heart of the Thunder God.

Commissioner, eight foot tall, armored, huge battle axe, causing panic.

Sounds like the executioner. I'd better deal with him alone.

Meanwhile, the executioner stops the city, searching for Jane Foster.

One face among millions.

Jane Foster, I have found you.

Using his axe, the executioner whirls it at fantastic speed,

creating a blinding, spinning vortex, and Jane Foster is hurled into limbo,

trapped in the misty shadows of a nowhere world.

Seconds later...

Ah, you are too late.

Where is the evil one? What have you done with Jane Foster?

Bah, Jane Foster is trapped in limbo.

You still live, but you are stunned.

Now I can finish the job.

You forget, executioner, how a thunder god can recover.

As Odin's royal rage virtually shakes the very walls of Asgard, another's rage is being spleened in the halls below.

Executioner! Enchantress! You've both failed to defeat Thor.

Indistinguished disguise roams about the city. While back at Asgard, we find Loki taking charge.

I must make certain Odin can never return to Asgard.

What new nefarious scheme is the Prince of Evil plotting?

First, by the power which Odin so foolishly gave me, I release Skag, the storm giant.

Next, I release Surtur, the fire demon who's been imprisoned within the depths of the Earth for centuries.

But loyal Heimdall, whose ears are the sharpest in the universe, hears Loki's incantations and sends for Baldur the Brave.

Telling him that he must fly to Earth and warn Odin of the terrible threat which awaits him.

With the speed of light, Baldur hurtles through the cosmos. Rendered invisible from all but immortal eyes,

Baldur knows that Odin or Thor will sight him within seconds, and in a trice, a mighty hammer guides him down.

What brings you here, oh loyal Baldur? Lord Odin is in gravest danger. In his absence, Loki has freed Surtur and Skag.

If my father be on Earth, he would seek only Dr. Don Blake. Follow me, Baldur.

Don it, sir. There are others waiting. Silence, foolish woman. Gaze into my eyes.

You may enter Dr. Blake's office at once, sir.

My father. Thor, it is you.

Grave danger lurks. Surtur and Skag are about to attack the Earth.

The human race must not see what is about to occur.

Stand back, my son. I have an awesome feat to perform.

The very fabric of time stands still. The entire human race is transported to a dimension beyond the ken of mortal men.

As long as the spell remains, none shall suspect what is happening, as Skag issues his challenge.

Defend yourself, Skag. I fight in the name of Odin.

Skag, my blade of enchanted steel has broken your club.

Skag uses his standard club to create a giant water spout in an effort to drown Baldur.

Courage, Baldur. I will save you.

Surtur. I have a... What have you done?

It is time for Odin to enter the battle.

I command the seabed to soften beneath the feet of Skag.

How goes the battle, Brave Baldur? It has but begun.

We must triumph for even now Surtur rescues Skag.

The rampaging demons are determined to destroy first earth, then Asgard, and finally the universe.

While Surtur hastens to melt the ice cap in the Arctic Circle.

Skag creates a titanic typhoon to distract Surtur's pursuers.

Lordly Odin mounts his battle steed while Thor and Baldur battle the fearsome force of the hurricane, trying to reach Skag.

Then with superhuman strength, Thor raises his mighty hammer, and Baldur and Baldur break him,

chokes the gigantic menace, turning him from the storm he created.

As Odin, astride his winged stallion, lays a protective shield over the helpless city.

I'll drain Skag's evil power through the magic of my sword.

He weakens Skag, but I shall replenish his strength.

Finally, even Loki's evil spell subsides under Odin's supreme power.

I have failed. My only hope now is Surtur.

Surtur is at the Arctic Circle, trying to melt the ice cap. If he does, earth is doomed.

Odin's sword shall prevail against the demon, and only the God of Thunder can wield it.

A gigantic fireball is about to melt the ice cap. Suddenly, it is drawn far up into outer space,

powerless to resist the fury of Odin's enchanted blade, further and further its speed toward a very special asteroid,

which shall hold Surtur in its magnetic grip of prisoner for ages to come.

We have overcome both Skag and Surtur, Sire.

You have fared well, my warriors, and now we shall return to Asgard. My son, why do you hesitate?

I cannot depart. Earth is my home.

You are obdurate.

Here is the one I love. I can never leave.

We shall speak of it another time. I bid thee farewell.

Of all the billions of people on Earth, only I know what transpired while time stood still.

Hello, Jane. Sorry I'm late.

It's been a very quiet day, Doctor.

Loki, you will serve with the trolls until I set you free.

Go, thou treacherous one.

In all the universe, Odin's power is supreme.

And yet, even I cannot prevail over the matchless power of love.

Across the rainbow bridge of Asgard, where the booming heavens roar.
