[When Destiny Brings The Demon]

[Based on the JJWXC novel "When Destiny Brings The Demon" by Fu Hua]

[Episode 4] [The "kill me" part is way too scary]

That Demon Realm spy

eased quite a bit

of the Spirit Fire's burn.

Maybe...

I can force the seal open.

Mr. Snake,

look at that sunset glow!

Let's go check it out,

and clear our heads a bit.

Immortal scenic spots

are really something else!

What's the matter, Mr. Snake?

What is that?

Why does it feel so oppressive?

Sima Jiao, are you insane?

You know full well

this seal can't be forced open!

♪If I could seal my heart away...♪

It looks like a seal.

Could it be tied to the Grandmaster?

I know

that girl eased your Spirit Fire pain,

but this is a seal formed by all Eight Palaces' bloodlines.

No one can break it!

If you keep acting recklessly, it can kill you!

Sima Jiao!

See? I told you it wouldn't work.

The more you try to break it,

the deeper those nails will drive into you.

Stop wasting your strength.

Shut up.

The Grandmaster's been here for 500 years.

You mean he wasn't in seclusion

but sealed here all this time?

So he's not a demon,

but the Monkey King.

No wonder he can't sleep

and keeps going crazy.

Such a situation may drive anyone mad.

The night of the new moon is coming.

I've been locked here for 500 years,

power suppressed, tortured daily...

So Sima Jiao does have a weakness.

We must inform the Master at once.

Wait.

The Three Saints Mountain only lets you in, never out.

If we cost our lives to send word,

Sima Jiao will grow suspicious.

And Liao Tingyan stays

in the Central Tower every day.

We have to get her away

from Sima Jiao,

so she won't ruin the new moon plan.

With her cultivation,

she's no threat to us yet.

Not for now.

But if she trains under Sima Jiao,

none of us can beat her.

So you're saying...

Kill two birds with one stone.

Plenty of people have their eyes on Sima Jiao.

Doesn't Star Palace have one?

Sis, have you heard?

Liao Tingyan from the Four Seasons Palace

is moving into the inner hall soon.

She only just won the Grandmaster's favor,

and now she's living with him?

What did this woman do?

If she gets ahead of us,

our Star Palace will be...

We can't let her run wild.

Let's go.

Mr. Snake,

look, with my amazing skill,

I've captured your majestic presence.

You're mad, huh?

Trust me,

Ruling values her friends.

Next time I'll plead with her for you.

She'll return your heart.

What are you doing?

Instead of serving the Grandmaster,

you've got time to lounge and paint

out here in the breeze.

That's disrespectful to him!

Don't waste words on her.

Let's get to work.

I didn't offend you, did I?

Let's talk this out.

No need to get physical.

Enough talk! Sis, now!

Today I'll teach you a lesson on his behalf!

I just want to be a slacker.

Why is it so hard?

They grabbed Liao Tingyan

to force me to act.

She's just a Demon Realm spy.

I only need her alive to help my with plan.

Her wounds are no concern of mine.

I told you I have no agenda.

Besides,

how would I dare set my sights on him?

With so many disciples here,

why would he choose you?

You must have used some trick.

Today I'll rid the Grandmaster of this disgrace!

How is a three-spiritual-root one

this tricky to handle?

Sis, forcing our power like this

will drain our vitality.

Too late to worry now!

You've gone too far!

How does this thing work?

So hot!

It worked!

I used the cultivation

you boosted for me to make this.

I boosted your cultivation,

and you used it for this?

Doesn't this make you happy?

Why not?

Sis, while we can,

let's kill her.

End the threat for good!

Grandmaster!

Three Saints Mountain isn't a place for you to act recklessly.

- Spare us, Grandmaster! - Spare us, Grandmaster!

Spare us, Grandmaster!

I was finally having some fun,

and you ruined it.

Why did you kill her?

She only joined Four Seasons Palace recently,

and her cultivation is low.

While I...

I'm here to serve you.

How could I let someone like that

remain by your side?

Speak up.

Why are you here?

I came to be your concubine.

I want a child

with the Sima clan's atavistic bloodline.

Once the Fengshan Clan

has an heir,

we'll trap and kill you, take the Spirit Fire,

and rid Gengchen Celestial Palace of a great threat.

Then our Star Palace

will rule Gengchen Celestial Palace.

And I...

will be the next Palace Mistress.

And you? What are you here for?

I hate Yun Xiyue.

I came to steal her chance.

After all these years,

you're still playing the same tired tricks.

Atavistic bloodline

might not appear once in a thousand years.

If I die,

Gengchen Celestial Palace is finished.

Forget your palace heads and lineage heads.

You'll all die with me!

Understood?

Grandmaster, I...

Now,

just one last step.

Looks like I'll have to take the time

to teach her how to kill.

Tingyan!

Grandmaster.

What happened to her?

Xiyue and Wanqing are dead!

They didn't even leave a trace of their spirit.

How could he strike so viciously?

Is he truly without principle?

What principle can he have?

The disciples we send keep dying.

If he weren't trapped in Three Saints Mountain,

I fear he'd have wiped out

our entire Celestial Palace by now.

Another light's gone out.

It's someone from the Yin Palace!

Master.

I sacrificed my life to send my soul out

and bring you this message.

What news is so important?

Today we secretly slipped

into the Grandmaster's Central Tower.

The night of the new moon is coming.

I've been locked here for 500 years,

power suppressed, tortured daily.

And that night

will be when I'm weakest.

You must guard me well,

or else...

my life will be in danger.

The night of the new moon

is his only weakness in 500 years.

The Grandmaster is now the only one

who can sustain the Fengshan Spirit Fire.

If someone uses this chance

to harm him,

what then?

We all know how powerful he is.

When he was just a boy,

our elders spent everything they had

and gathered all Eight Palaces' bloodlines to seal him.

Master Di, Master Yang, and Master Yin,

you took part as well.

You know it best!

Will a single night of the new moon

truly weaken him that much?

We'll see if the spirit vein weakens

on the night itself.

If he's truly weak,

the entire Celestial Palace's spirit vein

will naturally weaken too.

The sealing nails in him keep him

from taking his own life.

That part

can't be faked.

Everyone,

this concerns the Grandmaster and the entire Celestial Palace.

Tomorrow night is the new moon.

If the spirit vein shifts,

we must guard him at once.

Tingyan, you're awake.

Ruling...

When I got there, you were already out cold.

I don't know what happened.

But I smelled blood everywhere.

Maybe some disciple angered him

and got killed.

Sima Jiao

can be a bit odd at times,

but from what I've seen,

he's not a bloodthirsty man.

I remember now. Before I fainted,

Yun Xiyue and Hua Wanqing were coming after me.

I was even hurt.

But I just checked,

and there's no trace of injury.

Could Sima Jiao have saved me?

The Grandmaster would save someone?

Could he...

Could the Grandmaster

really have feelings for you?

Impossible.

It's definitely because I'm his walking air conditioner.

I mean I can cool him down,

ease the Spirit Fire's burning.

The Spirit Fire isn't ordinary,

and Tingyan's body can cool Sima Jiao.

Could she have

the extreme-cold nature from the Demon Realm?

So that's it.

Oh, besides,

thanks to Black Serpent

for tipping me off,

I made it in time today.

Speaking of Mr. Snake, he's actually quite nice.

Last time was just a misunderstanding.

Ruling, can you return his heart?

Luckily, Tingyan's fine.

I owe Black Serpent my thanks.

Mr. Snake, have you been well lately?

No, "been well" doesn't sound right here.

I was too reckless before.

I thought you'd swallowed my friend Tingyan,

and that's why I misunderstood you.

Today I'm here to apologize.

I heard you like this drink,

so I brought it.

You want this, right?

What happened to you...

Mr. Snake...

What... what did you do to me?

When I received this...

When I got this heart of yours,

I always kept it with me,

never touched it.

I turned into human form!

Ruling, it's all thanks to you!

Ruling...

Look, I've waited so long for this day!

Really, thank you, Ruling.

Though I don't know

what method you used,

today I became human.

Thank you.

Ruling, thank you

for giving me a chance to be human.

Tomorrow night is the new moon.

This is my chance.

I can't miss it.

Grandmaster!

It's me.

I've taken human form.

It happened

after Ye Ruling returned my heart.

I don't know what she did,

but I could take human form.

After all the blood you drank from me,

you could've turned long ago.

Yes, that's how it should be.

Back then,

you fed me with your own flesh and blood,

so I could claw my way back to life.

Grandmaster, my life is yours.

I'll follow you to the death!

Since you're human now,

you should learn to live like one.

Tingyan said the same.

She told me not to lick her fingers.

She also told me

to learn self-respect and self-love like a person.

But Grandmaster,

I don't know how to be human.

You went to see her first?

Without Tingyan,

Ruling wouldn't have returned my heart.

I went to thank Tingyan!

Grandmaster, Tingyan's a true friend.

A true friend?

She's really good at winning people over.

Tomorrow night, guard the mountain gate.

Yes, Grandmaster.

Aunt-Master, do you wait here every day?

Why do you want to see the Grandmaster so badly?

He sustains the Spirit Fire alone,

letting all of Gengchen Celestial Palace

enjoy endless spiritual power.

Gaining his favor has been my dream since childhood,

and the pride of our Heaven Palace.

But he's unpredictable.

Aren't you afraid he'll kill you?

Even if he does,

I'll have no regrets.

Are all cultivators

this ready to die?

I can't do that.

Being alive is great.

Why die for someone else?

If there's a chance to live,

I'll fight for it no matter what.

Boss,

don't scare me so early in the morning.

How can you be so timid?

So you'd better

not pile too much work on me,

or if I get hurt, you'll be responsible.

Such a hassle.

Want me to take responsibility for you?

You've got some ambition.

Grandmaster, you sure know what to focus on.

What kind of spell is this?

You used this trick

to win over that dumb snake?

Wronged! I can't use spells.

You know that.

Then tell me, what is this spell?

It's a thumbs-up gesture.

What's a thumbs-up?

It's kissing up to you,

buttering you up, and flattering you.

Such petty tricks

are utterly beneath me.

Yet you seemed to enjoy it.

Too bad, I don't want kisses,

and I don't eat butter.

Your little scheme has failed.

I...

Stop right there.

How's your practice with the spell

I taught you last time?

So-so, I guess.

Grandmaster, what are you doing?

Remember, when you kill someone,

it's best to stab here.

Or at least,

stabbing here works too.

Learned it?

Yes. Thank you for the lesson.

Well then...

I'll go water the little flame now.

Everyone, please stay calm.

Don't disturb the Grandmaster.

We agreed to wait and see about the spirit vein.

Yet some came early,

hoping to strike while he's weak.

Master Tian, you really can't stand evil.

So what are you here for?

Naturally, to protect the Grandmaster.

Protect him?

That's the official line, but in truth,

who here isn't eyeing him?

Some want to snatch the Bloodseal Bloom

while he's weak.

Others want to take credit

and win his favor.

That's the best-case scenario.

The worst is those who fear he'll settle old scores

and try to strike first to kill him.

Madam Yue!

Don't sling mud!

We all rely on him to cultivate.

Who'd want to harm him?

Who knows?

There are always a few

who don't care about the big picture.

Hey!

Please,

calm yourselves.

Whatever the case,

we all want the Grandmaster safe

to keep the spirit vein alive.

I'm here

not to stand in anyone's way.

Just asking you to know your limits.

Please, go ahead.

I still think something's off.

What if Anxue's message is fake,

and the Grandmaster lures us in to kill us?

No risk, no reward.

With a gut that small, how will you get the Bloodseal Bloom?

Madam Xing's concern isn't unfounded.

I propose,

since it was my palace's Anxue

who sent the news,

this matter should be handled by my palace.

I'll send elders inside to guard the Grandmaster.

How about it?

You're just trying to rush in

and take all the Bloodseal Blooms, right?

Then I'll leave it to you, Master Yin.

So that's how Bloodseal Blooms grow.

Did you eat the petals I gave you?

No.

The Bloodseal Bloom only works with my blood.

Otherwise, it'll blow you into a mist of blood.

You've drunk my blood, so don't worry.

It's too precious. I can't bear to use it.

Why not eat it?

A cup of coffee

only gives you an extra hour of energy.

But one petal gives a thousand years of cultivation.

I'm afraid it might kill me.

What if I insist you eat it?

Then I still won't.

I'll take a gamble.

See if you'll kill me for it.

How could I even say things like that out loud?

Fine, have it your way.

What's with you today, Grandmaster?

You think I'm easy to deal with today?

Guess why.

Because...

I'm going to be killed?

The one getting killed

isn't you.

You think you can kill me?

All together, kill him!

How can this be?

The new moon hasn't affected you

or weakened you at all!

Boss, you're really okay?

If I get hurt,

will you want to kill me like they do?

You're wrong.

I am badly hurt.

Today really is my weakest day.

If you want to kill me,

this is indeed a golden chance.

However...

Even in this state,

to me,

you are still too weak.

Boss,

you've got blood on your lips

when you say those cool lines.

Liao Tingyan.

I'm badly hurt right now.

This is a good chance for you.

Got it!

It's a perfect chance to suck up to you.

Boss, satisfied now?

That lady...

Sima Jiao can't fight back anymore.

Take the sword and kill him!

I don't kill.

If he lives, you die!

And more will die later!

Hurry, do it!

He's right.

Go ahead.

Pull the sword out.
