It is nearly the top of the hour, dear friends.
So it is time for me to say goodbye.
Only this time it's a little more permanent.
It seems like only yesterday when you invited me
into your cars, your homes, but above all, your hearts.
When I first started here at WLUV,
I didn't know what to expect. But you had faith in me,
and we went on this journey together.
Through the ups and the downs.
We laughed, we cried,
but most importantly, we loved.
I will always remember you fondly,
especially during the Christmas season.
So just remember to keep your eyes and your hearts open,
because you never know where love will find you.
This is Christina Campbell for the "Heart of Chicago"
signing off, WLUV Chicago.
Oh, there she is!
Stop it. You guys.
- Seriously. - Oh, oh, my dear.
I know folks, don't get me started.
Well, they all said I was crazy
when I first put you on the air.
I remember. A talk show about love and relationships
with no music. They said it would never work.
Ah, how wrong they were.
Except you.
You believed in me since day one.
You are going to accomplish great things in New York.
Thank you, Rick, for everything.
Christina Campbell, you weren't gonna leave
- without saying goodbye? - No.
Oh, another all-sports station.
As if that's what this city needs.
Yeah, well, you know,
I wouldn't worry about it too much,
Sharon, because listeners will always be able
to find me on the podcast.
I know, but there's just something about you being here
in Chicago. You're an institution.
Christina.
Ah, excuse me.
Make sure you come and say goodbye.
- I will. I will. - Yeah.
They grew up too fast, my.
I'm telling you.
Can you believe that was our last show?
Flew by.
What is this?
Gluhwein, to help get us into the holiday spirit.
I bought it the day we found out
the station was changing formats, to celebrate.
To celebrate us getting canceled?
To celebrate new beginnings.
Come on, you're telling me you're not even a little excited
about going to New York?
No, I'm very excited. I just...
What?
I like what we built here.
So did I. And nothing's changing, except our address.
Nobody moves to New York and says, "Nothing's changing."
We have the numbers from the podcast
and they love you in the Big Apple.
Plus this standalone Christmas show will have them primed
for the big launch after New Year's.
I wish you'd drive out there with me.
I have a bunch of things to wrap up here
before I leave, but don't worry.
I fly out the next day.
At least it'll give you time to think about the show.
So when I get there, we can hit the ground running.

Laura has been pressuring me to sell the place,
and we've had a few offers over the years.

Yes, but Laura has a 50% stake,
and there's a clause in the deed that allows her
to sell if the offer is certain percentage points
over fair market value.

You got a great thing going.
Now, go have a Merry Christmas
and then get ready to crush the competition.
Thank you, Phil.
It's gonna be a white Christmas this year.
I can just feel it.
Think you're right, kiddo. Looks like it's gonna snow.
♪♪ We wish you a merry Christmas ♪♪
You know what, don't wait for me.
I wanna put blankets on the horses in case it does snow.
Oh, no. Sit down, I'll take care of it.
You sure? ♪♪ And a happy new year ♪♪

I know, girl. I miss her too.
And I missed you.
It's okay, you don't have to say anything.
But what are you doing here?
You should be in New York.
Oh, it's kind of funny because when I was in New York,
I thought I should be here with you and Heather.
You were right. I was afraid.
Oh, it doesn't matter. You're here now.
And I'm not going anywhere.
What about your show?
Well, when the numbers came in from the episode
that we recorded here, they were off the charts.
So I figured why not give the people what they want?
We don't even have a radio station here.
I don't need to record it live.
Besides, I've always had more listeners
for my podcast anyway.
And your bosses, they were okay with this?
They understood, especially when I told them
how much money they could save by producing the show here,
they came around pretty quickly.
Oh, you've made Heather a very happy young lady.
Her show is blowing up, as she says.
But that's not even the best part.
Ever since it's aired,
we've been bombarded with therapy requests.
Not to mention boarding and riding lessons.
I mean, our stables are almost at full capacity.
And then when Laura saw how much business it generated,
selling became the last thing on her mind.
Well, it's only gonna get better because my listeners,
they'll wanna visit the place where I record the show.
And what about you?
You'll really be happy here?
There's no place that I would rather be.
So that's all for now.
This is Christina Campbell from, "Christina on the Ranch."
Tune in next time and always remember,
if I can find love, then you can too.
Oh my gosh.
Oh my gosh.
