- I stayed up all night, but I finished it.

We can try it out this afternoon.

- You think it'll work?

- It worked in "Electrospace."

- You based your gravity sensor

on what you learned from a science fiction movie?

- Guys, we'll be able to detect changes in gravity,

the type of fluctuations present when a wormhole opens.

- We'll be able to tell when a wormhole vortex

has been opened.

- Maybe even be able to predict when it's gonna open.

- Ultimately, maybe we can actually learn to control it.

- [Marshall] Whoa. - Shh.

- [Tyler] I can't talk right now.

(suspenseful music)

(door squeaks)

- Hey, guys.

Uh... Vortex?

Oh, I get it.

It's a secret.

I like secrets.

- What are you doing out there, Tyler?

Eavesdropping?

- That's pretty low, even for you.

- Just making sure you guys know your shift assignments

for the Durst's charity car wash.

You know all proceeds go to her favorite charity.

- We've got them.

- Is that why you organized the car wash?

To suck up to Durst?

- [Marshall] He's so phony.

about using Lucas's gravity device?

(dramatic music)

- With the ability to change skin color and pattern,

the chameleon can have many identities.

Now, why do these little lizards alter their appearance?

Anyone?

Hmm? - To evade their predators.

- Many mammals and insects use camouflage

for just that reason, Josie.

For instance, an insect known as the walking stick

looks like a twig in order to fool its enemies.

However, scientists believe that chameleons change colors

for other more complex reasons.

Stuart, what do you see?

- The little guy's turned green.

- [Zachary] And why do you think that is?

- Chromatophores.

- [Female Student] Is that Stu or--?

- What? (students mumbling)

I had a pet chameleon.

His name was Rainbow.

(students laughing)

This one's probably turned a color

because he's hot or mad or scared.

- Very good, Stuart, very good.

When chameleons change according to their mood,

it's a way of communicating,

and though the details of this communication remain unclear,

scientists believe that the colors

are a representation of whether the chameleon is feeling

angry or threatened.

(school bell ringing)

(dramatic music)

- If the science club has a secret,

Professor Z must know about it.

(book thuds)

(electrical crackling)

What's happening to me?

- [Josie] Okay, so my mom drops me at this boarding school,

and I'm thinking it's like all the other places I've gone.

Students,

teachers, principals, you know, like normal schools?

But it's not.

Weird stuff happens here, really weird stuff.

And what's this guy doing here?

Is his floating sphere the key to the mystery?

Something's going on and someone's behind it,

and we are gonna get to the bottom of it.

- There's nothing wrong at Blake Holsey High.

(woman screaming)

(dramatic music)

- My body blended into the wall.

I can camouflage myself.

- [Lucas] I think you're wrong,

with a better understanding

of the vortex's gravity signature,

we can develop a database.

- [Marshall] I got the door.

- [Lucas] I got it. - [Marshall] Hold still.

- [Lucas] I am holding still, you hold still.

(skin stretching)

- Josie?

(mischievous music)

(Lucas grunting)

- Does this have anything to do with the vortex?

The one I showed you the other day.

- Right, I forgot.

- There's that stupid car wash starting.

- Can't believe Tyler signed us up for the first shift.

(wheels squeaking) (skin stretching)

with so many of us sharing a secret.

So here's what I think we should do.

We should come up with a test

that proves we are who we say we are.

- Right, with an answer only the science club would know.

- Something we know that Tyler doesn't.

- What is the location of the vortex?

- We should each write our answer on a piece of paper

and not show the others like secret ballots.

- But wait, if Tyler is one of us,

we don't wanna tell him where the vortex is.

- You're right.

We need another test.

(suspenseful music)

Okay, now pass your answer

That way no one can fake their answer.

- And Durst was acting really weird

makes chameleons change color, right?

(Durst screeches)

(Durst whimpering)

Principal Durst, I am so, so sorry.

- I want all of your science hooligans in my office.

- Of course. - Now.

- Vaughn and the girls had nothing to do with this.

- [Durst] I blame this on your relaxed teaching practices...

- Surefire plan?

Your stupid gravity sensor probably won't work either.

(electrical buzzing)

- If Tyler isn't Durst, who is he?

You know, what was weird?

- Before when we were writing our answers,

Z only wrote one word

but it took him a long time and he dropped his pen.

- [Corinne] He noticed and dropped his pen

to cover sneaking a look at what you wrote.

Then he copied it slowly from the backwards reflection

because he didn't know the answer.

He wasn't Z he was Tyler.

- [Vaughn] That's why he wanted to stay inside.

- With the gravity sensor.

- We're too late.

- The wormhole must have opened.

- Where's Tyler?

- You don't think he went into it?

- Fantastic.

- We're doomed.

- Let's not be overly dramatic.

- A month's detention from Durst.

Tyler knows about the vortex.

What about any of that is overly dramatic?

Pacing?

- Well, at least Tyler's back to normal.

- Going in the wormhole

must have taken away his ability to change.

- But he's been in the wormhole.

- Guess our secret's not so secret anymore.

- Well, is there such thing as a secret

when more than one person knows it in the first place?

Too many people knew about the wormhole.

It was inevitable one more would find out.

- Just our luck, it was Tyler.

- Look,

if he went into the past

he could have caused unimaginable damage to the present.

But if he went into the future,

who knows what might be in store for us down the road.

- We're gonna have to stick together to fix whatever he did

and make sure that he doesn't go through again.

We're gonna need Vaughn's help.

- Okay.

- Agreed, but you have to keep an eye on him, Josie.

- I don't think we can trust him.

- I think we can.

- If he's in,

I'm out.

- Lucas.

(door slams)

- He'll be back.

(suspenseful music)

(electrical zapping)

- Tyler knows.

Soon the rest of the school will.

It's only a matter of time.

- They couldn't keep the secret forever.

Now that it's out, we have to prepare.

(suspenseful music)
