Shooting for Playboy helped me to come
out of my shyness.

I've always been shy but I knew I wanted
to model.

I decided to try for the top, Playboy.

So when I went to see the people at
Playboy Models, the next thing I knew I

was posing for the magazine.

Maybe I'm just an old-fashioned
romantic.

Or maybe I'm still dreaming.

I had a lot of fantasies.

Sometimes when I'm alone and I think
about those dreams I had for so long, I

feel like anything's possible.

Wishing you were here by my side.

To give me love and keep me satisfied.

Something about a moving thing.

That makes me think of you and me.

Being involved with Playboy has been a
great experience for me, but learning is

still one of my top priorities.

I like to be creative, whether that
means modeling, drawing, or even making

a movie.

Somebody's looking, looking at me.

I don't know what they're trying to see.

I guess I'm just paranoid of what it is
I'm trying to

avoid.

I was born in San Francisco. I was
raised in L.A.

My mom is Nicaraguan. My father and his
family are all Italian.

I was sent to Nicaragua when I was 12 to
study for two years.

I went to the American Nicaraguan
school.

That's probably where my interest in
visiting other Latin countries began.

I could spend all my days on the beaches
of Baja.

It's so beautiful. It's like being in
paradise on Earth.

I can be totally alone for days if I
want to and not see anybody else.

Well, one time I went and saw this movie
called Romeo and Juliet, and she had the

most beautiful hair I'd ever seen. And
after that, I wanted long hair.

So always just remember what your dreams
are and think about them, and you can

have them.

My town is Dallas.

There's places you can go and not see
anybody.

And then there's times you can go
downtown and where it's happening is L

.A. or New York.

You know what it is about the South that
makes me feel like a woman?

It's just the basicness, simplicity,
just of everyday life.

There's nothing demanded of you, but yet
I just try to give it all.

I love being in the South, and this is
where I do the best.

And I want you to see how I live in
Texas.

I met Playboy through the 30th
anniversary hunt.

I saw Ned in the newspaper and decided,
what the heck, let's go for it.

When I was a little girl, I think I was
about 11 or 12, I remember thinking, one

of these days I'm going to be in
Playboy.

So I set up a little place in my loft to
work out.

When I'm there, I usually turn on the
music and give it a good workout and

really go to it.

I didn't know how loud you'd be.

I was born and raised in Jamaica, West
Indies.

I grew up in the parish of St. Mary in a
small town called Highgate.

Jamaica is the most beautiful island in
the world.

The people are so happy, so content.

That's why it's a paradise.

People.

when the music goes around and around.

If you want some action, create your own
scene.

It's just the way it is, the way it's
always been.

Just live, live for today.

I really liked the way Pompeo captured
me on film.

He was able to bring out the real me.

No fancy garters or frills.

Just natural.

That's me.

A lot of people think I'm from Chicago.

I'm not.

I'm from North Dakota.

A lot of people think playmates are all
body and no brain.

It's true.

Gotcha.

But I think the most important thing you
need to be a playmate is personality.

What the fuck?

The playmate phenomena is that all these
women, the 12 women a year, we've all

participated, we've all done the same
thing.

It's a feeling, boy, that I wish every
woman could have a chance to feel, but

only a chosen few are, and that's what
makes it even more special.

My life has been a fairy tale, and it
all starts out with dreams and imagining

you want to go, like, to an island.

I've been studying real estate.

There's real estate in Hawaii.

Why can't I go over and get my license?
Be able to have business and pleasure on

an island.

It became just a wonderful life.

I got involved in the ocean, sailing and
windsurfing. It was real healthy. It was

a dream come true.

And then all of a sudden, Playboy comes
into my life. And it's another dream

come true.

You make me feel so good inside every
day.

Baby, what you do with me never felt
this way.

Give me a better hand on the collar.

All right, let's bring that hand to the
hip.

There's so much about you that keeps you

on my mind.

I grew up on a farm in Springville, New
York.

Then I remember running around without
any clothes on, naked in the field at

times.

How excited I was when I found out that
I was the 30th anniversary playmate.

Me, out of 7,000 women interviewed, I
just couldn't believe it. I was so

excited.

Sometimes when I'm alone, I like to
envision a faraway place where it's

peaceful and serene, unlike the common
hustle and bustle that I'm seeing every

day.

It's a place of peace and serenity.

It's a comfortable feeling that I can
only have with myself, and I enjoy it.

Well, my pictures are so different from
me looking in the mirror every single

day.

They're sexy. They're beautiful.

And I really am happy that I did this.

It's been one of the most exciting
things I've ever experienced.

What is sexy?

Music makes me feel sexy. If it's soft
and sexy music.

There's sexy music and then there's
other music.

And I love water. Water makes me feel
sexy.

So,

I was a very, very shy child.

In fact, I really didn't open up until
college.

Playboy changed my life. I started
modeling, came out of my shell.

I think my Playboy pictures are
exquisite.

I did a fashion shoot with photographer
John Bilecki, who was just absolutely

fantastic.

I like being soft, and when I say soft,
I mean being very much a woman,

very sensual, sexy.

Ding!

I really loved posing for Playboy. It
was quite an experience.

Everybody was wonderful.

They tried to make you as comfortable as
possible, almost like family.

Steve Wada was a wonderful photographer.

I think the most rewarding thing was
when I actually saw the magazine after

it came out. The pictures were done with
such taste.

I like to swim because it's great
exercise. It tones your body at the same

time that you're having a lot of fun.

I like to dive. I like being underwater.

Kind of a different world sometimes for
me.

Shooting my layout was a very wonderful
experience, and I felt like I had a

creative hand in the entire process.

They made me feel comfortable about
myself and very sensual, and I just

really have a fond memory of the entire
experience.

I feel a real bonding to this land
because my family had a vineyard for so

many years in Lodi, which is in the
Central Valley of California.

So here I am, kind of this little
grape-picking farm girl.

It really holds a lot of memory for me.

And I still reminisce and like to come
out and play and do the things I used to

do.

There's been times when people view me
as more of a sex object instead of a

person, and whatever I do, whether I'm a
playmate or a doctor or anything, I'm

still going to be the same basic person.

A lot of people forget that, and they
try to look just at this image that's

formed instead of looking at the real
person behind it.

That's hard to deal with sometimes.

And I told my parents that I was going
to be sailing to Hawaii.

My mother was very anxious about it. My
dad was really okay. He was accepting,

and whatever I felt I could do would be
okay with him.

It feels so free, just like the wind.

It feels so good, the breeze in your
hair.

want to feel this way all of the time

When I found out I was going to be Miss
December, I couldn't believe it because

that's the holiday issue and one of the
better-selling issues, so I knew a lot

of people were going to see me, and that
was a real thrill and an honor, and I

could barely contain myself.

I like it when a man tells me that he
thinks I'm beautiful.

I like it when a man tells me that he
thinks I'm funny, that he likes holding

me and kissing me and pressing his
fingers through my hair.

I was going round in circles, they must
be my

surprise.

Turn around, find your sweet passion,
just by looking in

your eyes.

The shooting of the Playboy layout for
me was an incredible experience.

It's the most sensual photography that
i've ever done and i don't think that i

ever felt inhibited in any way with any
of the the crew it was just very

exciting

when

i'm cooking it gives me a lot of time To
fantasize about the things that I enjoy.

One of my fantasies is to own a bed and
breakfast place.

I've watched a few old movies, and I've
seen these old roadhouses.

There's always some woman getting by,
making a living, cooking, serving,

pumping gas.

Real old-fashioned.

I almost wish that I could go back in
time and live in the 40s and be the sole

proprietor of my own place.

Playboy always represented beautiful
women to me.

I was such an awkward kid, you know, all
elbows and knees.

This seems almost impossible.

The only time I really feel beautiful is
when I look at my Playboy pictures.

Otherwise, I'm still that little girl in
the neighborhood who likes to work on

cars with her brothers.

Detroit. The backbone of American
industry and American music. Detroit is

also my home and I'm proud of it.

I don't think it's possible

to live in Detroit and not learn
something about cars.

I love to work on cars. I especially
love to restore old Chevys.

She's out of this world.

There's something very sexy about cars.

That's why people collect them. I'm not
really sure where my future's going to

take me, but I bet you anything I'll
drive there.

I've worn these a lot in my life, but I
never expected them to be on the pages

of Playboy.

Physical fitness is very important to
me.

I work out all the time, and it hasn't
just started in the last couple of

years. I've been doing it ever since I
was a young girl.

After a workout, I have to relax. I have
to have time to myself to get my mind

clear and let my body relax. And if
certain muscles need to be massaged, I

can do it on myself. And I just make
myself feel good and give myself the

time that I need.
