Officer Edward
Guzman grew up in Torrance

and attended
Sacred Heart High School there.

In February 2017, while
responding to an armed robbery,

he was wounded in the arm
and the shoulder

but continued to engage the gunmen,

killing one and disarming the other.

For this action, he received
the department Medal of Valor.

He represented the best of what
it is to be an LAPD officer,

and we are deeply saddened by his loss.

was gunfire on the scene

after LAPD responded.
