[Narrator] In the year 2199, Earth was under severe attack from the mysterious planet Gamilon.

Gamilon planet bombs cover the Earth with radioactive pollution.

And as a result, in one year's time, Earth will be unlivable.

But on the planet Iscandar, there is a machine that can remove the radioactivity.

Queen Starsha offers it to the people of Earth.

A team of Starblazers called the Starforce undertakes the perilous journey.

But can the Starforce travel 148,000 light-years and back in just one Earth year?

The first half of the Starforce's long journey is almost completed.

But just when they were within sight of Iscandar, the Starforce

was drawn by the Gamilon Magna Ray into a deadly sulfuric acid sea.

IQ-9, are you sure of your analysis?

If it really is sulfuric acid, just how will that affect the ship?

I'm sure it's sulfuric acid, Wildstar.

And I'm sure it will damage our ship.

So, sulfuric acid eats into metal.

And this rainstorm has a high acid content, too.

It's just melted the third gun deck.

Gamilon missiles approaching!

Venture, go into a dive, immediately!

They're trying to force us to land in that

acid sea, and the ship will be destroyed.

[crewman] The new missile attack on the Argo... First wave, short of target.

Raise angle of attack, 10 degrees. Fire 2nd wave of missiles.

Follow descending target, force into the sea!

We've got the Starforce right here on Gamilon,

and you bumbling idiots still can't destroy it.

Activate the sulfuric acid storm machine.

If we can't shoot it down, we'll melt it down.

Starforce, you've come a long way to meet your fate.

The sulfuric acid that's poisoning our planet will now be your doom.

Leader Desslok. This is a great moment.

Drink to your victory.

Krypt, you haven't learned a thing.

You have forgotten how many times the Starforce has outfought our Gamilon ships.

All volcanoes have a tremendous destructive energy.

The ones on Gamilon are very powerful and active.

We can trigger them to greater activity with the Wave Motion Gun.

Aim at the base of the volcano so as to release the most energy.

The eruption of the volcano should stop the Gamilon attack.

Yes, sir. I'll try it.

But remember, we can't stay submerged long.

Submerge the ship?

Yes, as quickly as possible.

That acid will dissolve the ship. You saw what it did to the third gun deck.

I know, Sandor.

Are all the watertight hatches closed next to the third gun deck?

IQ-9, locate the nearest and biggest undersea volcano.

It looks as though the sulfuric acid will do our work for us.

It will destroy the Starforce in ten minutes.

IQ-9, haven't you located the right volcano target area yet?

[IQ-9] Dead ahead is a large submerged volcano with connecting passages to several others.

We're losing parts of the ship.

[Wildstar] Energy up to 95%.

And we drive them here.

What needs to be done?

[Krypt] The Argo is airborne again.

That cannot be. I've destroyed it.

It's a ghost ship. That's it.

Now we must kill the ghost.

Fire all our missiles.

Empty the arsenals.

Shoot down the memory of the Starforce. Erase it from the skies forever.

[crewman] The Argo is 2,500 kilometres above the Sulphur Sea.

-First salvo of 100 missiles ready. -Second salvo all set.

-Third salvo being loaded. -The Argo is approaching.

I should have taken full command much earlier.

It was foolish of me to have left such an important matter to others.

Now we will go ahead to victory over the Starforce.

Leader Desslok We must stop fooling ourselves.

It's almost as if we've been fighting a ghost ship.

How can an old Earth battleship defeat all of Gamilon?

We've been fighting a force we don't understand.

Let us stop fighting them before they destroy us.

Krypt, I don't want to hear such defeatist talk.

It's people like you who have kept us from winning.

[Sandor] The acid has damaged our hull on port side.

And our starboard observation post is completely gone.

Just make the necessary temporary repairs for now, Sandor.

Missiles?

Big wave of missiles approaching!

Fire now! All guns!

[Sandor] The third gun turret's been hit.

Venture, full speed ahead.

We're going right into the heart of their command post.

Then they'll be damaged by their missiles more than we will.

[Sandor] That was some blast!

[Eager] I'm dizzy!

[Sandor] That's kind of normal for you, Eager.

[Eager] Dr Sane's gonna run out of bandages.

[crying]

... Are you alright, Nova?

Yes, Derek, I'm alright.

I'm just terribly tired, I guess.

Here, we are so close to Iscandar and still fighting.

I think this was our last battle, Nova.

The Gamilons have finally stopped fighting.

Now we can go on.

And some of the crew need patching up, too.

There's work ahead for both of us.

But when the mission is completed, and you are back on Earth, you will have the thanks of the world.

[Narrator] At last, the Starforce is approaching the mysterious planet Iscandar,

ruled by Queen Starsha.

There, they expect to find the Cosmo DNA, a machine that will

remove the deadly radioactivity

that now threatens all life on Earth.

But the Starforce must hurry.

Time is running out.

Now there are only 161 days left before all life on Earth becomes extinct.
