[Narrator] In the year 2199, Earth was under severe attack from the mysterious planet Gamilon.

Gamilon planet bombs cover the Earth with radioactive pollution.

And as a result, in one year's time, Earth will be unlivable.

But on the planet Iscandar, there is a machine that can remove the radioactivity.

Queen Starsha offers it to the people of Earth.

A team of Starblazers called the Starforce undertakes the perilous journey.

But can the Starforce travel 148,000 light years and back in just one Earth year?

Now the Starforce is heading for planet Balun, where unknown to them, the evil Gamilons are waiting.

But meanwhile, aboard the Starforce's ship, the Argo...

You've all been working so hard.

I thought you'd like to have a coffee break.

-Boy, I'd like some coffee. -Fresh coffee!

system, just before a star is about to collapse into nothing.

First it explodes and generates shock waves, which move out into the galaxy and form a whirlpool.

Inside the whirlpool is a space hole, a sort of dead vacuum.

As the star collapses, the whirlpool goes faster and faster.

We're probably the only people in the world to come this close to a galactic whirlpool.

It draws everything into it as it speeds up.

If we let ourselves be pulled into the center, it's almost impossible to get out.

It finally ends up as a black hole.

There is a theory that says a black hole is an opening into the fourth dimension.

But it's not a black hole now, is it?

Not yet.

But the whirlpool doesn't let go of what wanders into it.

Look at that!

It's like a sea of lost ships.

Is that the way we're going to end up, too?

Don't be stupid.

You can do something about it.

They're not all deserted ships.

There's something moving on the screen.

[Eager] It's an enemy ship.

[Venture] It's the Gamilons!

We found the Starforce.

I wonder if the Starforce understands what can happen to them in the galactic whirlpool.

We may never have to fire a shot, General Lysis.

The whirlpool has often taken care of our enemies...

for us.

I wouldn't like that to happen.

I must take the Starforce.

I shall not be cheated of a victory by a stupid whirlpool.

Black Tigers, stand by to take off.

Main guns, stand by to fire.

Wildstar, we can't use the wave motion gun.

There just isn't enough power.

We'll fire by hand if we have to.

The Cosmo DNA is awaiting you on Iscandar.

That will rid Earth of radioactivity.

Now look at your astro compass.

I have caused it to indicate the direction you should follow.
