your very own Lego go-karts.

We have got go-karts
that have blank chassis.

Your job is to build THE most
incredible exterior to your go-kart

you can possibly imagine.

This will be
one of the coolest things...

..we'll ever do together.

Oh, yeah.

Brickman, what do teams
have to put together

to create the ultimate Lego go-kart?

Well, the go-kart chassis
is completely blank.

It's for you to choose the vibe.

It's completely up to you
as to the style and theme.

Now, Brickman...
Mmm.

You will be giving each go-kart
a score out of ten.

I will.

Then you will get to race
that go-kart...

(GASPING)
..at the end of the episode.

The tricky part is,
when you're racing your go-kart,

it's gotta make it
over the finish line MOSTLY intact.

And this is very rare
for so early in the season,

for me
to have a Hamish Blake bonus point,

but I have got three points...

If you are
the first car over the line

that has most of the car together
as deemed by Brickman,

you will win
three Hamish Blake bonus points.

based on the anaesthetics of it,

and then there's

if it can make it
around the track first and intact.

Well, this is gonna be fun.

Two teams joined together.

So, there's going
to be four teams of four in here.

And I think we're gonna
keep it on the theme

so it will be
Australia versus The World.

So, two of our teams
will be Australian,

two of our teams
will be international.

So, that's
the pool we're going from.

So, we've got Aussies on one side,

we've got the rest of the world
on the other side.

WOMAN: I would have loved

make something that's insanely cool.

the wind shield.

and we really want
to go fast around the track

so it'll just be a perfect match.

ANNALENA: We're going to build
an European hotdog.

It includes, like, a bun, a sausage,

some pickles, ketchup,

some - we call it 'senf',
the yellow thing, you know?

Mustard.
And onion rings. Yeah.

HAMISH: Now, to have Germans here
to exquisitely

explain the difference
between a hot dog and a bratwurst.

Yeah, a bratwurst is, like,
a white wurst.

It's a bigger sausage?

No, it's the white one.
It's not, like, red sausage.

You don't have a red bratwurst?

Like, normally...

PETER: When building a go-kart the
most important thing is strength

and just having it be sturdy enough
to go around the track.

First off we're building, like,
the frame to make the bread,

and then we really have

to think about interlocking every
piece so that it sticks together

and brings
stability throughout the build.

I'll just put a technic brick
on here

so that it'll secure it
to the bottom.

(DRAMATIC MUSIC)

HAMISH: Alright, Brickman,
we are a couple of hours in now.

I get the feeling it is
just about getting bricks down.

Pretty much.

It's coming together.

HAMISH: You'll be giving
each go-kart a score out of ten.

It's gonna be
tight with style points

and the three points
could come into it for the race.

You're hoping the three points
come into it for the race.

Come on, I don't give bonus points
for effort.

The German hotdog
is probably at this stage

probably the most
advanced of the builds.

Some good latticework and they've
got their struts and beams.

They're strategically located
in several places around the car.

And they are super, super strong.

This is pretty sturdy.

Let's move to our French
and American team. The frog.

I think we should
only go up about this high.

CAMILLE: OK.
Caroline: Yeah.

BRICKMAN: Yeah, character wise,
great. I think it's good.

But there's a lot of weight
in the face

so it's probably the least
aerodynamic out of our four cars.

Yeah.
Look at that.

So cute.

Our dream car.
Great idea.

Should we do a hood scoop?

BRICKMAN: This is
a real design choice.

Keep it low, keep it sleek.

HAMISH: Gives you a chance
to put bricks in advantageous spots

for the cornering and stuff.

It's very aerodynamic.

I reckon this one's
gonna fly on the track.

On our banana split,
on the Aussie car,

colour wise, good choice,
like, the Neapolitan.

Awesome.
And particularly the yellow.

I think the yellow will fit nicely.

But it's precarious at best,
is how I would describe it.

You reckon that's the flimsiest?

You know, it's not aerodynamic,

I'm not sure if the
internal structure's good enough.

And a banana's
a super tough shape to make.

If you think about the banana
curving upwards, OK?

The centre of gravity
is both high up in the air.

Yes, you can still get
that curved shape a little bit,

but sculpting something like that
is really, really difficult.

There's a lot of spaces
underneath there. A lot.

I don't think that any of us
have built on a go-kart before

let alone driving your build.

It's so different.
I know. Right up my alley.

The front's really taking shape
thanks to Charlie and Ben up there.

We've got one side looking good,
another on its way.

We're definitely
aiming for those two big bricks.

We wanna show these international
teams Australia is here

and we're here to fight.

If you were to compare yourselves
to the other teams,

one advantage that you guys have is
you've kept it fairly low.

I think that plays in your favour.

The downside to that is of course
that it's not as imposing

so, I think what you've got to do
is find ways to make it 'bling'.

I mean, I'm not a hoon

but anything that you can add
to your car like that

I think is a good way of doing it.

we're tracking those extra features

to show that we are a real car.

So, we're thinking of
doing exhaust pipes, like, mufflers,

just to give it
that bit more shazam.

It can't be a sports convertible car

ERIC: I think in terms of how sturdy
they are, they're pretty sturdy.

to find a place for the fuzzy dice.

If we can get a good score
from Brickman,

and it survives the track,

I know we've gone, like, a little
bit smaller than some other teams

but hopefully that just means

that our car's
a little bit more lightweight

and can get around the track
faster than some of the others.

It was definitely a strategy to make
it more streamlined and aerodynamic

'cause we wanted to make sure
that it was as light as possible.

your favourite bits?

I really like
the minimalist approach.

The low, sleek.

I think
that really works in your favour.

So, from a technical perspective
I really like it.

Also the colour choice.

Going pink is great.
It really stands out.

It pops.

I like the details like
the licence plate and fluffy dice.

an awesomely pink seven.

arguably the most race-ready car

by the colour choices.

I think the whole choosing
the ice cream was a great decision,

it allowed you to play with colour.

the experience of sculpting

I think the frog

BRICKMAN: What I like the most
about your car is, it's you guys.

It's quirky, it's awesome,
it's fun.

And I can picture the race
when it's going on,

and I can see lots of people

Go the frog."

And I think that's what you want.

However,
