as a team moving forward.

of battling the elements

and pushing their physical
and mental limits…

their final challenge,

a two-day race to the finish
to claim the million-dollar prize.

We're gonna have to trek into the jungle.

[narrator] Each team will begin from
opposite ends of a 20-kilometer trail,

looping deep into the jungle
to a central waterfall…

-Okay, so we're starting way down here.
-Yeah.

…forcing the teams to navigate
a gauntlet of unpredictable waterways

and overgrown forest.

The red dots are markers.

If you hit here,
you know you're on the right path.

[narrator] Once they reach the waterfall,
they will retrieve a key and a map,

both essential for the next leg
of the journey to the finish line.

I do wonder what the letter means by,
"Who do you take with you to the end?"

Unless this is for the other team
to get rid of people before…

for this final race

We are all going to the final together.

The two remaining teams wait for a siren
to kick off the final competition.

We were getting wet, we weren't warm,

and we didn't get
really any sleep last night.

So I am a little concerned
about the final competition.

This is the most important trek probably

that we're ever gonna make
in our entire lives.

So we're gonna have to give it our all.

[narrator] To start the final race,

each team will make their way
to separate trailheads

that lie at the base of the jungle.

[Abby] New part of the island.
Here we come.

[narrator] They'll be hiking
straight into the heart

of the island's most densely
overgrown rainforest…

which locals refer to
as el Corazón del Diablo,

or the Devil's Heart.

[tense music playing]

It's an unforgiving terrain
filled with thick, tangled brush…

thorny vines…

towering trees,

and erratic terrain, making it one of
the most difficult environments

on the planet to navigate on foot.

[Nikki] It is okay
if we get a little separated.

As long as we have eyes on each other,

we're fine.

[narrator] The teams will head
in opposite directions

to a waterfall
in the middle of the jungle,

where they'll find a key and instructions
for tomorrow's leg of the race.

Alpha will start seven kilometers
downstream from the waterfall,

using the river as their path.

Bravo will start on the opposing
13-kilometer trail,

up through the heavily-wooded highlands,

before descending on to the waterfall.

The topography of the two paths
gives them unique challenges.

Due to these conditions,

the teams can expect to reach
the waterfall at roughly the same time.

They also have the potential
to encounter each other along the way.

To guarantee Alpha and Bravo
face the same obstacles,

they'll attempt to exit the jungle
along their opponent's path

before the race is suspended at dusk.

The further they get before nightfall,

the shorter the distance they'll need
to cover for tomorrow's final leg.

At daybreak,

their journey will conclude
on the island's western shore,

where a final test stands
between them and their fortune.

[Leiya] Dear Heavenly Father,

[Pharaoh] I'll set the pace.

[narrator] Now at their starting points,
the teams hold for a second siren

to signal the start
of the million-dollar race.

So we start the trail
going straight through the river,

and immediately
it's a big shock to all of us.

into a little bit of rapids.

and rocks everywhere.

We really don't know where
our feet are hitting, and it's…

It's a rough start to the race for sure.

the previous night's rainfall,

Bravo has faced less resistance

on solid ground,

but they still have 11 kilometers
of dense vegetation

between them and the waterfall.

So as we're navigating,
it is pretty exhausting mentally,

especially after last night.
