- [Voiceover] I don't know exactly how to start this.
But I knew after I found this footage,
I had to share it with everyone.
In some type of effort to try and better understand
what happened in my life.
Someone very close to me did something
that still leaves me and my family horrified.
I found this footage in returned items
after the police had completed their initial investigation.
From there, I decided that I would try
to piece together in some form of sequence of events.
What you're about to see is compiled footage
of the events that happened as it leads up
on the night in question.
You see, no one knows exactly why,
even how, it could happen.
I will never understand why they chose
to go into a place that was known to be haunted.
The Lafitte Plantation in Vacherie, Lousiana
is a place you don't play with.
They knew better.
(creepy music)
- [Voiceover] Hi-- - [Swinging Woman] Hey.
- My name is Anna and I'm with the University
of Southern Louisiana and I'm kind of going around
asking people what they know about the Lafitte Plantation.
- The what?
- [Voiceover] The Lafitte Plantation?
- Oh, you talkin' about that old house on Route Seven?
- [Voiceover] Yes, I heard it was haunted.
(chuckling)
- I don't want to be rude, ma'am, but I don't even
want to talk about the place.
- [Voiceover] Local says that it's still haunted
and things like that.
- Is it, or?
- [Voiceover] I don't know, but, I mean,
a few people have said it is, so.
- Well, believe what you hear, because it is haunted.
- Nah, I don't believe in none of that shit,
I don't believe in none of that ghosts
and spirits, anything like that.
- My mother told us stories about that place, growing up,
and the hair stands up on my arms
when we talk about that place.
- I've heard things.
Actually, I've heard a lot of things.
- [Voiceover] Okay, would you mind explaining
or going into detail?
- Sure.
When it was a bed and breakfast, I know that a lot
of people reported seeing in one of the bedrooms
that children would jump and down on the bed,
or pull the toes of whoever was in the bed.
- I used to be a maid there, a nanny,
whatever you want to call it,
and I used to take care of the family there.
But they didn't stay very long, they moved out.
- [Voiceover] Well, why, what happened?
- Like, stuff started to move around, stuff was missing.
I'd be dusting around and there was pennies all over
the place like somebody had threw
it there in different rooms.
Even if people weren't there,
they just would appear.
Lady floating around, no feet.
Horses trotting outside, you go look out the window,
there's nothing there.
- There are ghostly spirits walking,
roaming the property.
You have family members of the plantation,
Lafitte Plantation, who owned the home, died there
and their spirits, their ghost spirits are walking
around in the property.
Especially, this one lady who appears out the window
all the time, she's wearing this white dress,
a really young lady.
- Um, Confederate soldiers were killed there
and it's reported that they still haunt the grounds.
I know that there was a thief
that was killed on the 11th step
and when people go up and down the staircase,
sometimes, they're tripped for no apparent reason.
- [Voiceover] Really?
- And, in the dining room, there's a woman
that is dressed in white and she goes back and forth
across the dining room.
- [Voiceover] A woman in white?
- Yes.
- [Voiceover] Do you know who she is?
- I think she was one of the original owners
or related to the original owners.
- [Voiceover] Okay, thank you so much.
- But I know, I think there was a painting that hung
above the fireplace or mantle, of her.
- [Voiceover] Ma'am, thank you so much,
this information's really helpful.
- [Voiceover] Well, look at the light.
- [Voiceover] Okay, I still don't see anything.
- Oh, if you flip the little shutter thing, then,
- Girl, you know I'm crazy.
- You will be able to see.
Yes, you are.
Wait, so when did you get this?
- I got it the other day.
You know I didn't want to,
but I have to pass this class, so.
- [Voiceover] Mmmhmm.
- Wait, is that the one with the first mechanic in it?
- [Voiceover] No, actually, this is the one I got
from the lab.
- [Voiceover] Oh.
- [Voiceover] Anyways, I'm hungry,
you want something to eat?
- [Voiceover] Yeah, um, yes. What do you have?
- [Voiceover] Pizza!
- [Voiceover] Okay.
- [Voiceover] Pizza
- [Voiceover] All right, tell me what's up
with you and Gavin.
- Damn, we haven't even eaten yet,
and you're gonna start this.
What do you mean what's up with me and Gavin?
Nothing's up, we are together.
- [Voiceover] Well, I knew that, but I thought
he was just a rebound.
- What?
Girl, I don't do rebounds, okay?
I like him, he's funny, he's tall, he's handsome,
he treats me nice.
- [Voiceover] Yeah, uh-huh, you know what?
But he isn't Jonah.
- Exactly, he's Gavin.
He's hot, handsome and he has a big ass --
- [Voiceover] Oh, my God.
(laughter)
Oh, my God.
Okay, wait, wait. No, TMI, all right.
- Um, did she sound kind of weird on the phone?
'Cause, like, when I talked with the caretaker,
I don't know, he just kind of gave me the creeps
a little bit.
- Yeah, 'cause caretakers are creepy.
(laughter)
With the keys and
cutting grass late at night.
- Sitting around at midnight just hanging round.
- No, she seemed okay, but that's just people
from back home, we just don't talk
about the Lafitte Plantation.
It's like, hear no evil.
(speaking Creole)
- Well, I know French, so we will see
if we see anything.
- We will see.
- [Voiceover] All right, 'cause I'm gonna try and see
what we can...
Oh, it's already on.
- You said that thing was on?
This camera?
- [Voiceover] Yeah, uh huh.
- Bring me this camera.
- [Voiceover] Listen, I have a paper due next week
and I was going to ask you to write it for me.
But now, I'm going to make you write it--
- Anna, you better delete that before anyone --
I am not playing with you.
(phone ringing)
You know what? You're lucky this phone is ringing.
Hello? Hey, ma.
Don't start with all that stuff, okay?
Nothin' is gonna happen.
We're gonna spend the night filming,
we'll be over to your house to eat the next day,
and everything will be fine.
Okay, mom, look, all you have to worry about doing
is making me some pecan pie
because I've been craving a slice.
- And me, gotta make sure I get some too.
- Okay, love you too, bye.
Lord.
- What was that about?
- I don't know, I told you.
People from back home, they don't like to talk
about the Lafitte Plantation unless they telling
you stay away from it.
- Is it really that serious?
- I don't think it's that serious,
but it's always somebody that knows somebody
that knows somebody that went in
and never came back.
- Yeah, okay. - [Anna] Whatever
- But my family, they always been weird about that place.
My grandmother, she even forbid us to talk about it.
- Well, didn't that make you kind of want to know
what was in it and stuff like that?
- Hell no!
That place is eerie lookin', I just stayed away from it.
- That makes me even more curious, now.
- [Voiceover] I saw you in the choir today.
- [Voiceover] Of course you didn't,
that was a trick question.
(laughter)
- [Voiceover] You ever get stuck talkin'
to like a group of freshmen?
- [Voiceover] Oh, nice.
- [Voiceover] Lucky dog.
- [Voiceover] Freshmen.
- [Voiceover] Hey, Ky.
Hi, oh, I probably shouldn't be doing that, sorry.
- [Voiceover] What are you doing?
- [Voiceover] Trying to figure it out,
there's like some buttons I can't understand
- [Voiceover] Here, just give it to me.
- [Voiceover] It's hard.
- [Voiceover] That's what she said.
- [Voiceover] Oh my God!
- [Voiceover] Only because you can't get anything
before anyone, ever.
- [Voiceover] Really?
- Yeah, we got the 15 minute rule, starting now.
- [Girl In White Shirt] All right.
- [Voiceover] Starting now?
He's already 10 minutes late.
- Okay, we've got five more minutes then.
- [Voiceover] Thank you.
- [Boy In Blue Shirt] No, let's go now.
- [Boy In Striped Shirt] I'm ready to leave.
- Me and Anna go by the 15 minute rule.
(overlapping chatter)
(door slamming)
- Now we've got a quiz.
- [Voiceover] She would probably die
if she failed the class.
- Okay, guys, okay.
Let's get started.
- [Voiceover] Damn it.
- Jonah, what are you doing with the camera?
- [Jonah] Nothing.
(laughter)
It's sort of our project.
- Okay, well, speaking of which, what is your project?
- [Voiceover] We're doing a documentary.
- Uh, about teaching?
(laughter)
- [Voiceover] Uh, as interesting as that may sound,
not quite.
Now, we want you to keep an open mind.
We want to do something different,
so we're gonna do a documentary
on an abandoned plantation.
- Really?
And how exactly is that going to work?
- [Voiceover] Well, we're going to use the abandoned
Lafitte Plantation in Vackery--
- [Voiceover] Vacherie, it's Vacherie, no, he said it,
no, I'm sorry, he said it wrong two times in a row.
- [Voiceover] Excuse me-- - I can't let it go.
- [Voiceover] I'm always wrong.
- It's Vacherie, Louisiana.
- [Voiceover] What do you care what I think?
- I'm just telling you to say it right, Vacherie.
- [Voiceover] Oh, excuse me, Miss Correct.
- I'm always correct, but I'm from there.
- [Voiceover] Really, oh, I'm sorry, my bad.
Same old shit that-- - [Professor] Okay, okay.
- Everybody in class: Vacherie.
- Everyone, what makes this place so special?
I mean, is there a story behind this?
- Hell yeah, there's a story to be told.
It's a plantation, it's haunted, and I'm black,
so there's three reasons I don't see why the fuck
I should be going.
(laughter)
(overlapping chatter)
- Well, I'm not scared.
- Well, Misty, you should be because
if you don't get the extra credit needed from this,
you won't graduate.
(class groaning)
- [Voiceover] Oh, snap!
- [Misty] Oh, yes, I will.
- [Professor] Same thing goes for you, Ky.
- [Ky] Why you gotta call me out?
- [Anna] Because it's true, dude.
- [Ky] Whatever, Anna.
- Look, anyway--
(laughter)
Anyway, I'm gonna ask this again.
What makes this place so special?
Genevieve, you're pretty talkative--
- [Genevieve] Yeah.
- What do you have to say about it?
- It's the wonderful cameraman back there
that's just drilling it out of me today.
- [Voiceover] Not the first time.
- [Voiceover] Are they still together?
- [Genevieve] I think it's a great project.
It talks about a woman who, uh--
- [Voiceover] Wait a minute, wait, wait, wait.
Professor, if we tell you everything now,
what's the point of us actually making this documentary?
Can we at least keep some things a mystery
about this project?
- Yeah, well, it's a big mystery
if you're gonna pass this class.
(class groaning)
- [Voiceover] Burn!
- [Voiceover] Look, I'm just saying, I really do
love telling a story through the lens.
- Dude, Ky!
Porn doesn't really tell much of a story.
(laughter)
- Especially when he makes up his own.
- [Voiceover] Seriously, guys, seriously guys, come on.
Professor, professor, it's gonna be great.
It's a great story and it just needs to be told, that's all.
Whatever.
- Okay, well - [Ky] You guys can be dicks.
- I'm not going to push you guys anymore,
I just want to make sure have some good direction.
Now, let's talk about the time frame.
I have my colleague, Charles,
he's gonna engineer all the projects for my film classes.
- [Ky] Charles?
Is that the prick who almost cost me my midterm?
- [Professor] Well, as I remember, Ky, you're the prick
who showed up late for the shoot.
- [Ky] Whatever, man, he sucks anyways.
- [Genevieve] Please don't be on time this time.
- Well, you better hope not, because you need this grade
to graduate.
Now, when are you filming?
- Uh, we are filming, what did I do with my calendar?
We are filming next weekend, Saturday morning.
- [Voiceover] Can't wait.
- Okay, that works out, that works out perfect.
I'll give him a call, make sure he meets you guys
on Saturday morning.
- [Genevieve] Prof, can we go early today, please?
We did everything.
- Absolutely, you guys have been wonderful, good luck.
I think you're gonna do fantastic.
- [Voiceover] So, how does Gavin feel about having
to work on the project with Jonah?
- Okay, okay, not that I care, but I think it bothers him
to be around Jonah any longer than he has to.
I mean, that's my ex-boyfriend.
- [Voiceover] Well, I mean, I guess I'll just have
to accept that Jonah's your past
and Gavin's your present, I guess.
- Let me tell you, the real problem with me and Jonah
is that Jonah always wanted to graduate from college,
and be this big-time director in LA.
And me, I'm an LA girl, all right, as in Louisiana.
So I got mad at myself about where things were headed
and we had to end it before it got too serious.
(computer keys clicking)
Anna, you not paying attention to me,
you asking me all these questions.
- [Voiceover] No, I am.
- Okay.
- [Voiceover] Here, look, here's the website
that shows the place we're going to.
- [Genevieve] Told you it was scary.
- [Anna] Scary and haunted are like
two totally different things.
- Okay, we're gonna see about that.
I want to hear you say that when we get to that place.
Tell me if you--
- [Gavin] Hi, babe, ready to go?
- [Genevieve] Hey, babe.
- Hey, there Anna, what's up?
- [Anna] Hey.
- What y'all doin?
- Nothing, work, what you doing?
- Chillin'.
- Yeah.
- Tryin' to get something to eat, I'm starving.
- We can go eat.
- Okay, cool.
- Let us finish like two more things, then we'll go eat.
(phone vibrating)
Hey, ma.
Of course we still coming, why wouldn't we be?
Momma, we went over this already, okay.
Don't worry, nothing's gonna happen.
Yeah, Gavin, he's right here.
Gavin, my mom said if anything happens to me
you are responsible.
- Tell your mom I said.
(fingers snapping)
- He said okay, mom.
all right, love you too, bye.
Lord!
- Is your mom really trippin' about us going over there?
- Yes!
- For what?
- I don't know, hopefully, she'll just get over it.
- Oh, she just bein' a mom, you know that right?
- Yeah, I guess, my momma.
If it was your momma calling you, you'd be feeling some
kind of way about it.
- I have to do it, my mommma loves me.
- Oh, shut up.
- She'd be calling my father.
- You coming with us to eat?
- [Anna] No, I'm gonna stay here and do some more work.
- Okay, well, print off another copy for me, please,
if you don't mind.
- [Anna] Oh, yeah.
- [Genevieve] And don't work too hard, okay?
- [Anna] Okay, I won't.
- You gonna carry this all the way --
- Yeah, yeah, my bad.
- [Ky] Please know, you gotta get your own bags.
- [Gavin] What you got in here?
- [Ky] There is no concierge service here.
- It's got my hair. - [Gavin] Are you ser-
- [Ky] all right!
- Okay we know what part this is, I don't even know
what's going down.
- [Ky] Oh, my God.
Aye, aye-aye!
- You put other stuff in my bag.
- Getting a belt monogrammed.
- I mean, Ky, what's in your bag, you're not carrying them?
- What's in your bag, your sex toys?
(laughter)
- Hey, you need them everywhere you go.
Oh shi--
- When you're that lonely, you do.
- Okay, okay, is this on?
We're going to see if this plantation is really haunted.
But I'm going because I need the extra credit.
- Well, if you actually would've showed up to class,
you wouldn't need the extra credit.
- You're such an asshole.
- [Ky] Yeah, and you're so damn funny.
- That's really really funny coming from the guy
with the non-existent GPA.
- Okay, okay, all right, okay.
Two lovebirds, less talk and more packing.
- Lovebirds? Fucking Ky, really?
- Shut up guys, wasting too much time, come on.
- [Gavin] Of course she's right.
That's why she's impatient, half an hour damn late.
- [Voiceover] Is someone gonna help--
- [Voiceover] Man, that's camera equipment,
not some bale of hay, Jethro.
- It just dropped, jeez, it just dropped.
- Someone needs to help me pack this shit.
Thank you.
- Here, shut it real quick, shut it.
- [Genevieve] I think men should be well-groomed.
- [Ky] The only thing I do is manscaping.
- [Genevieve] What?
- [Gavin] The only thing I do is shave underneath my balls
and my armpits.
- [Genevieve] I thought manscaping was like.
- [Gavin] That's manscaping, so you don't trap no smell.
- I want out of the car, now.
- [Anna] What, no, it doesn't trap it.
- [Gavin] It gets funky down there.
- [Misty] Now, like.
- [Genevieve] No, she says, she says she wouldn't date a guy
that used more product in his head.
- [Gavin] This ain't nothing but juices and berries in here.
- Which is like no product, so.
I don't use any product.
- You ever saw coming to America?
- [Voiceover] This is au naturel, right here.
- [Voiceover] The afro-sheen, from Coming to America?
- [Gavin] Just let your soul glow, let your soul glow.
- [Voiceover] Yeah, that's it.
That's ridiculous, look at that, look at his face.
- What happened?
- [Voiceover] That shit was funny.
- [Voiceover] She's jealous of my hair, that's why.
- [Voiceover] Really, is that what that means?
Is that what it is?
- Is that why?
No, I dye, Creole boo.
Don't be jealous of hair.
- Ky, what you put in your hair?
- I don't put anything in there.
- You what?
- I don't use anything in my hair.
- Misty, if you could give him a makeover, you would.
- All natural roots in your hair.
- Let's say if you could give him a makeover, you would.
- Oh, that's right.
- All protein?
- I'm sorry.
- All natural protein?
(laughter)
- [Voiceover] What is it, once, twice a day?
- [Misty] I missed it, I don't know what the fuck you're--
- [Gavin] They say you use all natural protein in your hair.
- [Ky] Do we really need to explain that to you?
When guys finish on your head,
it gets stuck in your hair and cakes over.
That's what they're referring to.
- [Misty] Is that what's wrong with your head?
- [Jonah] Ky, I think she needs a demonstration.
- [Genevieve] She said "Is that what's wrong
with your head", she told Ky.
- It's not crunchy, look.
Yours is a little crunchy, though.
- [Jonah] You gotta wash it out.
- That's not nice, that's not nice.
- Hey, one year, I saw, I saw this dude here like,
- [Misty] I can't even say anything.
- [Genevieve] You wouldn't want somebody
to talk to your mom like that.
- [Gavin] Oh, my elbow really hurts.
- [Voiceover] Damn, Misty, how many do you really have?
- [Gavin] My elbow really hurts, like for real, for real.
I think I need a sling or something, damn. I'm serious.
- [Ky] You need to quit being a pussy.
- [Gavin] Really?
- [Ky] Takes one to know one, that's what I'm saying, right?
- [Gavin] I was going to say I am what I eat, but--
- Ah, that would be awk-- - Too close to home for you?
- That would be awkward.
Fuck you.
- [Ky] How do you like 'em, do you like 'em bald?
- Anna, that is disrespect, don't do that to her.
- [Gavin] Anna, have you had a boyfriend
since you've been in college?
Since we've been here at school, have you had a boyfriend?
- Let me tell you how many fuckin' figures
I'm gonna be making when I get out of college,
how about that?
- We're talking about the dudes you've had
since you've been in college.
- Yeah, she was dating those dudes
on the softball team.
- And then her grades dropped and that was it.
- There is no dudes on the softball team, you get it?
- That one guy and then your grades dropped
and that was it.
- You get it? - I know.
- Ky said you was messing with the dudes
on the softball team.
(laughter)
- So, whatever, you guys are just gonna be fucking jealous.
- Just give me a number.
- No, that guy was, he was --
- [Gavin] What guy?
- [Anna] It was just like --
- [Ky] The guy who played shortstop on the softball team?
- [Genevieve] Don't do that to my friend, that is my friend.
- [Anna] Really?
- [Gavin] I'm just saying, let's be for real.
Can we throw --
- So how many people have you slept with?
- [Ky] Let's be honest.
(chattering)
- [Genevieve] I have never, I have never --
- [Gavin] You actually gonna put me out on this?
You answer the question.
- [Voiceover] Never Have I Ever, let's do it.
- [Voiceover] I don't wanna play that!
- If you've never done it, then you have to raise your hand.
- [Jonah] You put three fingers up and if you've done it,
you take a finger down.
- [Genevieve] So if you've done it, you take a finger down.
- [Voiceover] You go first.
- [Genevieve] So I have never --
- [Misty] It's never have I ever, say it right.
- [Genevieve] Please don't be starting that.
- [Misty] No, it's never have I ever, start.
- [Jonah] I'll start.
Never have I ever gotten off in the shower
with a sprinkler head. Little --
(vibrating)
- [Ky] Misty, go ahead and take two fingers down.
- [Anna] Never have I ever, uh,
I have to say something
that I've actually done?
- [Voiceover] No, that you've never ever done.
- Never have I ever went to a bar
and picked up three dudes
- That's too much.
- [Anna] At one time.
- But we know you've never picked up dudes, we know that.
(laughter)
- [Anna] Never ever failed a test.
I got all you guys.
- [Voiceover] I think it's a good thing to fail on this.
- [Genevieve] Never have I ever slept with a professor
to get a better grade.
- [Anna] Wait, so you put it down?
- [Ky] Why do you still have fingers up?
- No, listen
- [Gavin] She was hot, and physics was hard.
That's the only A.
- Never have I ever slept slash flirted
with a professor to get a better grade.
- [Misty] Okay, fine.
- [Anna] This is boring, I haven't done any of that.
- Hold on, I got one.
Never have I ever fucked Jonah.
(laughter)
- Does it count if I do it myself?
- [Misty] Did you just put a finger down?
- [Ky] I did, we had that one night.
We had that one night.
- [Gavin] I guess I gotta put it down too.
- [Voiceover] Yes, really?
- [Voiceover] Drive, drive.
(exclaiming)
(engine revving)
(laughter)
- Are we lost? - [Jonah] What?
- [Anna] Are we lost?
- [Jonah] No, we're good.
- It doesn't look like you know where you're going.
I know exactly where we're going, it's these signs
that are off.
- Oh, yeah, sure.
You are so lost.
- I'm not lost.
- He is so--
(screaming)
- [Voiceover] Shit, shit.
- [Voiceover] What the hell?
- Are you okay?
- [Voiceover] Keep your eyes on the road.
Are you all right?
- [Voiceover] Jesus!
- What's wrong?
- I had a nightmare.
- A nightmare, okay, its gonna be, oh shit --
- We need to go to the nearest gas station.
- Gas station, just keep going.
- We're headed to the Lafitte Plantation
to shoot a documentary.
- You goin' to the Lafittes?
Honey, you don't want no part of that place.
- Really, why not?
- That place is all bad, aint nothin' good about it.
The Lafittes been buried on that land
and some people say they still occupy that old house.
You know late at night, when nobody's watching,
Felicity Lafitte shows up in the windows.
I don't know baby, maybe you kids should do
your documentary about something else.
- Wow.
- Guys, let's go.
- [Misty] It sounds like you really believe
in all this hocus pocus shit.
- [Clerk] Hocus pocus shit, eh?
As soon as you set foot in that place,
you'll understand why you need to get in that van,
turn it around and go back to where you come from.
- Well, I need my extra credit points for class,
so I think I'll take my chances with a ghost.
(screaming)
- Hey, Misty, what was she talking about back there?
What was that lady talking about back there?
- Nothing, just a local trying to get under our skin.
- You sure that's all, because something
about this is really getting weird.
- Look, you need to man up, 'cause I really need this.
That was just some stupid old lady trying
to get under our skin, okay?
- Really? Look at Gen.
Obviously, she doesn't want to do this.
I don't know.
We should turn around.
- [Gavin] Jonah, what are you talking about?
- I'm talking about turning this van around and going home.
Obviously, Gen doesn't want to do this anymore.
- First of all, who the fuck is you yellin' at?
And what you mean, Gen?
Last time I checked, Gen was my girl,
so she go where the fuck I go.
And guess what, we ain't turning around for nothing.
- Well, I have the keys, so I say what goes.
- That's how you feel?
- Yeah, that's exactly how I feel.
- Well, we're gonna change that shit--
- Hell, let's change it right now.
- Hey, guys, stop, stop!
Stop it.
God, stop.
Take a chill pill, let's get in the van.
Go, come on.
- No, we're not.
Let's just let them duke it out right now,
lemme throw a 20 on Gavin.
- Or, I could take the camera and bash your fuckin' face in.
I don't think so, get in the van.
Go.
- [Misty] Oh, my gosh, why are we stopping now?
- Gotta piss, out of my way.
- Really?
- [Voiceover] Because we're here.
- Here, where?
I don't see a house here.
- 'Cause it's on the other side of the wooded area.
- Huh. Oh, hell no.
I'll be right here when y'all get back.
- Really, well then I'll just tell the professor
that you did nothing but chew bubblegum all weekend
and you'll get an F.
- Bitch.
- Thank you, now get your ass out of the van.
- [Voiceover] What the hell?
- Hey, dude, you got it all right?
You good?
- [Voiceover] Yeah, I'm good.
- All right.
- What the hell is this abandoned plantation?
- It's where they kept the horses.
- [Ky] Where Misty turns her tricks.
(laughter)
- [Ky] Misty, you never play these games.
- [Misty] There's probably still some horses
in there that you could screw if you wanted.
- [Jonah] Actually, he filmed that
with the last girl that he had,
she kinda actually hooked it right in.
- Hey, Jonah, it was your mom, so.
- My mom doesn't stoop down to your standards.
- [Anna] I want to see what's in here
- [Misty] Come on, we already did this.
This cannot be the place.
- [Gavin] That's how people get killed.
You always tryin' to look into something.
- [Voiceover] No, let her go then.
Let her go, Gav, let her go.
- I'm not gonna be the first black guy getting killed.
I'm not, I refuse.
- [Misty] Anna, this cannot be the place,
you saw pictures.
- [Gavin] I refuse, I refuse.
- I don't think so.
I am sorry.
- [Voiceover] Bring your crocodile hunter butt over here,
get out of here, man.
Always trying to travel things.
- [Voiceover] Act like you enjoy the place.
- [Gavin] Jordan, didn't I tell you about that, stupid.
Oh my god. What the --
(screaming)
(laughter)
- [Voiceover] Stop, stop, wait, wait.
- [Voiceover] You dumbasses.
You know you all a bunch of dumbasses.
(murmuring)
- [Voiceover] You gonna lag ass or you gonna come with us?
- [Voiceover] Whatever, bro.
- [Voiceover] What, heard what?
Wait, why are you the biggest fan?
That's what I'm wondering.
Like every dude.
- [Gavin] It's something different, that's all.
- [Voiceover] Hey, you got enough wire
to catch the feed from that house?
- [Voiceover] Yeah, I'm actually gonna be
monitoring it from the van, so.
- Wait, you're not coming?
- [Voiceover] No, somebody has to stay out here
and run the control board.
- [Voiceover] You getting scared or something, girl?
- No, I just thought there were gonna be more men around.
- [Voiceover] There are, you little baby.
- [Voiceover] Don't you got enough men?
- How much further, do you not see
the damn house in front of you?
- [Voiceover] You got plenty of them.
- [Genevieve] Can we have some action?
- [Gavin] I'm gonna take my jacket off,
what the fuck was I thinking?
- I'm glad I'm not wearing heels,
that's all I got to say.
- You wanted to be cool,
I told you don't wear the damn thing.
- [Voiceover] Let's go.
- I left it in the van.
Sorry.
- [Gavin] I'm gonna go fuckin naked,
it's hot as fuck out here.
- Anna, I'm getting a tan,
that's how long we've been walking.
- Your skin, it would take the sun to shine and still hold.
- All day.
- Early morning, for your skin.
- You're the last fucker. - That ain't happening.
- Okay.
- It would take the sun to sleep with you.
- What kind of fucking grand fire.
Talk about being in pants, get out of here.
- [Voiceover] Ridiculous.
- I don't get it.
- Of course not.
- No, like.
- What?
- Is that what you did?
- Are you making fun of me?
- No.
- What is there not to get?
What is not to get?
Help me understand.
- I wanna use this for the documentary.
How's that footage?
- [Voiceover] All pretty good.
- [Voiceover] Yeah?
- [Voiceover] Yeah, yeah.
- [Voiceover] Did you get the houses to watch out?
- [Voiceover] Yeah, I did, it's a pretty shot.
- [Voiceover] All right.
- I think I stepped on this pine needle.
- Yeah kinda like that, you know.
Walking in intro, you know.
Just maybe some B roll or something like that,
we could use for the documentary.
- [Voiceover] Sounds good, my man.
- [Anna] Oh, there he is.
Guys, come on.
- [Genevieve] Yeah, one person we should so come
and one person only.
- [Misty] Can I go watch the van?
- [Gavin] all right, let's go.
- [Genevieve] I told you, I can't take this weird.
That damn hoe.
Waiting on people to come freak out.
- [Ky] You'll see me plenty later.
- [Anna] Our friend wasn't, she wasn't feeling really well
and then it's a really long walk for us, so.
- [Charles] Oh.
- Yeah.
- [Charles] Why in the hell didn't you all just
drive up the side way to the main house?
- [Misty] Side way? Side way?
- [Gavin] Are you kidding me?
- That wasn't in the map.
- No, no, no, nevermind.
- All I knew was I wouldn't have waited too much longer.
It'll be dark soon.
- [Voiceover] Yeah, I'm sure it gets pretty
hard to see around here.
- I been minding these parts my whole life.
I could get around here blindfolded.
I just don't hang around here.
What are you staring at young lady?
- Don't mind her.
She all right.
- Well, you know this place got a strange effect on folks.
Now, if I had some time, I'd tell you about some of it.
- Just give us the keys and a quick tour man,
we don't got all day.
- Brother, you could never be my buddy.
And besides, I just tend the grounds.
- [Voiceover] Okay.
- I don't hang around here at night.
- Okay, okay, you made your point.
It's scary, just give us the keys man, come on.
- Okay, oh, sir.
Did you want us to give the keys back to you in the morning
or leave them here or meet you up somewhere or,
what would you like us to do with that?
(chuckling)
- Sooner.
- [Gavin] What the hell?
- [Anna] God, that cigar smell.
- [Voiceover] But like, let's just forget about this guy.
Come on, let's just go set up.
- [Anna] All right, well, wait.
Before we set up, while it's still daylight,
can we go ahead and like just take a tour
around the house to for the documentary?
- [Voiceover] More walking?
- Sure, why not?
We've already walked ten miles.
- Yeah, let's walk some more.
Relay for life.
Let's keep going, walking walking walking.
- Come on.
Oh, hell yeah.
Service.
(metal clanging)
- Piece of shit, open the fuck up.
- [Gavin] What's wrong with you?
- [Genevieve] What? Nothing.
- What do you mean nothing?
You been quiet all the time
and quiet ain't your personality.
- Yeah, you know, I'm just not feeling this.
- What you mean you're not feeling this?
- What you mean?
- First of all, I been trying to figure out
is Jonah right or not?
Since he know you so well.
Do you wanna go back or not?
- You know what?
This don't have shit to do with Jonah.
When the caretaker asked me what was wrong with me,
you ain't have shit to say, Gavin.
You had nothing to say.
Then back at the store,
oh, that's my girl, she go where I go, she do what I do.
Right, that's what you say to her, I heard you.
I heard you.
- Put your motherfucking voice down when you talk to me.
- Do you know who talking to?
- I know who the fuck I'm talking to,
- Apparently not, apparently not.
- So I'm telling you to put your voice down.
Second of all if you wanna go ahead and be on him.
- You know what, I don't have time to deal with this.
- First of all, you don't walk away when I'm talking to you.
- No, I don't have time to deal with this
and you gonna let me go.
- I'mma let you go?
- Oh, you will.
- Or what?
- What the fuck are you looking at?
- [Gavin] Hey, don't get mad at the damn cameraman
'cause your ass --
(static)
- So hot.
- It looks like different plants growing in this way.
- [Misty] What are you doing?
- [Anna] I'm just looking at the, it's like hunting.
(laughter)
- [Voiceover] Hey what's up?
- [Misty] Running from the bugs
that were trying to catch me.
- [Voiceover] You would.
- [Jonah] Really?
- [Misty] They're bees!
- Actually, there's a nest,
there's gotta be a nest over there somewhere.
- [Voiceover] Oh shit.
- [Voiceover] That we just pissed off.
- [Misty] Shit.
Okay, all right Anna.
You go kill the bees, please.
- [Voiceover] Yeah there's a lot of them in there.
- [Voiceover] Dude, it's fine, don't worry about it.
- [Voiceover] I'm not getting stung, fuck that.
- [Misty] You're more of a girl than me.
- [Anna] All right, whatever.
- [Voiceover] They are angry.
- [Anna] Okay, I'm not.
- [Voiceover] Honestly, as long as you're not
like right around here you're fine.
We're good.
Well, obviously then this place isn't deserted.
- [Voiceover] Yeah.
- Oh yeah, cause bees live here.
- Well, that's not the only thing.
- Hopefully, those are the only weird thing we see.
- [Misty] No, really though,
I feel like someone's watching me.
- Yeah, I feel like someone's watching me too.
- Yeah, that's true, people are always watching you.
- [Anna] You guys are like talking bobble heads.
- [Voiceover] Hey, come here, look at this.
- [Anna] What the hell?
- [Misty] Oh my God, this one was a baby.
- [Voiceover] Where's Gen?
- [Genevieve] Right here.
I'm fine, we just need to get the show on the road.
Set up everything in the house.
- Yeah, I'm down, let's go.
- [Voiceover] Damn.
- [Gavin] I did my tour but it's of the --
(laughter)
- [Voiceover] Yup.
- [Gavin] Give us a start.
(loud banging)
- [Gavin] He just put the key in the door
and the door banged.
- [Voiceover] Hey, maybe you were fucking ready.
- It was loud as shit, you didn't hear?
- [Gavin] Something's in there.
- Listen, no one is in there.
- How do you know that?
- Gen, listen.
(yelling)
- I don't care who's in there,
we are not leaving until we are done.
- You're talking bullshit.
Someone's in there.
- Let's go, let's get out of here.
- No, you know what, we're not going anywhere.
- Yes, we are.
- We're gonna finish this project with or without you,
you can go wait in the fucking van.
I got this shit.
(screaming)
- Hi.
- [Gavin] Which way did he come from?
- Okay.
- I'm gonna leave it in the back.
I'll be back to pick it up tomorrow.
- Okay.
- [Voiceover] This is obviously another reason
we should get the hell out of here.
(knocking)
- [Misty] Well, you see, look.
They're letting us in.
- [Ky] Oh, God, what is that smell?
- [Gavin] I bet it's death.
- [Ky] Dude, wait until you get in here.
Holy shit.
- [Misty] Hello?
- [Ky] Hello?
No one is in here, it's the wind like I said.
- Dude, it's fucking cold.
- Maybe it's this funky fucking smell banging on the door.
- It's cold.
Really really cold.
- [Voiceover] Dude I'm just saying, come on.
Are you not, are you coming in?
- [Misty] Seriously, guys.
- [Gavin] Nah, we good.
- [Ky] Dude, there's nothing here.
- [Misty] You are such pussies.
- Y'all grade depends on this.
- Dude, come on, there's nothing in here guys.
- [Voiceover] It's dark as hell.
- [Voiceover] You check it out then we'll do it.
- [Voiceover] Dude.
- Hey guys, let's go get the equipment.
Let's get set up, come on.
- [Voiceover] Hey, Anna, are you coming?
- Hey wait, which one of y'all's bringing the car back?
- [Voiceover] Yeah, Anna, come on.
- [Misty] Dude, who's bringing the car back?
To the side road?
- [Voiceover] Hey hey hey, no y'all listen.
We're gonna leave it where it is.
- Why?
I don't wanna walk any farther than I have to.
- [Voiceover] Because I don't pick up any feedback
from the house, so, Anna.
- [Anna] Yes?
- [Voiceover] Come get this camera.
(mumbling)
We'll be back.
- [Voiceover] All right, see you in a minute.
- [Voiceover] All right.
- [Misty] Y'all enjoy the fresh air.
- [Voiceover] Yeah, enjoy that funky ass smell.
- Okay, no really though, do I look good?
- [Anna] Uh, no.
- [Misty] Nice.
Okay, this is creepy.
- [Genevieve] Wow.
- [Anna] Even though it's dirty,
it's actually still pretty nice.
- [Misty] You would think that, Anna.
- [Anna] Hey, Gen?
- [Genevieve] Hmm?
- [Anna] You've been kind of quiet.
Is everything okay, with you and Gavin?
- You know, I don't know.
He's upset that Jonah said that we have history.
- Can you blame the guy?
You were with Jonah freshman to sophomore year.
- Okay, well he needs to get over it,
that was two years ago.
We finished.
- Well, if I had a man with a body like Gavin,
Jonah would be the last thing on my mind.
- Bitch, if you had a man.
- Yeah.
- Yeah, and you don't.
- You just don't know about them.
- [Anna] It's been good so far.
- [Misty] We have to behave, guys.
What is that?
- [Anna] I don't know.
Oh my God, wow.
- Is that the lady that lived here?
Dude, she kind of looks like you.
- [Gen] Yeah, no she doesn't, actually.
Not at all, I don't think so.
- [Anna] It is her.
- Okay, and how do you know?
Okay, what is her problem?
- [Anna] Dude, just, whatever.
Leave her alone.
- Leave her alone?
She just fucking storms away and it's okay?
Really, really?
- [Anna] I don't know,
it might just be this thing with Gavin, I don't know.
Whatever.
- I just wanna get out of this freaking creepy house.
- [Anna] Okay, well.
- Wait, why are the windows boarded up?
Explain this to me.
- [Anna] I don't know, they didn't tell me,
I don't know, I don't have all the answers.
- Oh, really?
Did you just admit that?
- [Anna] Yeah, really, great.
Let's just go upstairs, cause they've got,
I can turn the light off when I get upstairs.
- [Misty] Okay, this place is huge.
- [Anna] Yeah.
- [Genevieve] Yo, I'm up here.
- [Anna] Where?
- [Misty] You came up here by yourself?
- [Genevive] Hurry in.
- [Misty] Hey.
What are you doing?
- [Genevieve] Looking outside.
- [Anna] This is a good view.
- [Genevieve] No, Anna, you're right.
It is a nice place.
Like, you can tell it was nice
a long time ago is all I'm saying.
- [Misty] Really?
Okay, yeah, I get that.
Wait.
- [Genevieve] That one's locked, I don't know.
- [Anna] He told us we could have a whole bed.
(screaming)
- [Misty] Oh my god!
Really?
- [Voiceover] What's going on?
- [Genevieve] Rats.
- Rats?
- In the closet, rats.
- [Voiceover] Rats?
- Yes, like for real, more than one.
- [Anna] Oh my god.
- Really?
- Yo, that's just cause ya'll didn't see it.
That's what made me see.
- What the -- I hate fucking guys.
- They know we're above it.
- [Voiceover] I can't believe that guy's
doing all this dish work.
Do you know how to set this up?
- I don't really have a clue.
I've done it once or twice, don't ask me how I know.
- It's the intro to film class, huh?
- Intro to film, of course man.
That's the whole reason we go to class.
Too bad I don't really pay attention.
- Who really does?
That professor sucks.
- I'll never say nothing.
- No, it's cool, dude, man.
- I think uh --
- You got it on?
- Yeah, I got it on.
As a matter of fact, gots a cool feature too.
Back up, back up a second.
- [Voiceover] What we got?
- [Gavin] Back up a little more.
I'm like the Grinch that Stole Christmas.
Big nose you got.
- [Voiceover] Hey, that's kinda rude, you dick.
- [Gavin] I got some night vision on this
if I could find the frickin switch.
- [Voiceover] Night vision could come in handy.
- [Gavin] I know man, where the heck is this switch at?
Oh, there it is, I got it.
- [Voiceover] You got it?
- [Gavin] Yeah.
Boom.
Yeah.
- [Voiceover] Cause next's our bedroom, huh?
- [Gavin] Yeah all right, let's go to the next room.
- Let's go.
- [Gavin] Bro, you watch those for me.
- Ain't you over in Bowser?
- Why, what's up?
I'm trying to figure out what I'm gonna do after graduation.
- You're not gonna go pro?
- Bro, I wish I could go pro,
but after I blew my knee optices,
it's like, the chances aren't very high, not at all.
- You can't go to training camp or something like that?
You're not gonna reach out?
- I mean, I took this major really to back up plan.
But didn't nobody think I'd be using it though.
- Sportscaster, work for ESPN or something, CBS Sports.
- All those guys usually work for that, they retired,
they were great and acknowledged and now they're retired.
I don't even get a chance to do that.
- But you're great in college.
(scoffing)
Guess I've always wanted to piss you off.
- You're like pissing me off already.
- Any other rooms?
- Actually, we still got the master bedroom.
- Right here?
- He said you could see a silhouette lady on that side.
- Take that dude.
- Yeah.
- [Voiceover] Let's go.
Dude, is this thing locked?
- [Voiceover] Bro, it's locked?
- [Gavin] No, I checked it earlier, it should be okay.
- [Voiceover] I think it's, then it's jammed.
- [Ky] I can get it, hold on, all right.
(laughing)
Fuck.
- [Gavin] Bro, you okay?
- [Ky] Yeah, I'm fine.
(laughter)
- I'm pretty good at being an ass, come on,
I mean you're kidding me.
(laughter)
- [Ky] I just shit my pants.
- [Gavin] Just shit my pants.
- I'm good.
Might have pooped a little bit.
(laughter)
- You got to set it up?
- Yeah, I do, I got it.
- Oh, real, so we can get some of this weird stuff here.
- This place, it ain't a whole lot like home.
- [Gavin] You know what, I think you're right.
I don't think we're even gonna see shit at all.
- Dude, so tell me, what's going on with you and Gen.
Y'all been fighting a lot.
- Well, you see, it's that love-hate nonsense,
but forget about me, it's crazy what is up
with you and Misty though.
- Huh?
- What's up with you and Misty?
You say she be trying to push up, wrestle up on you
and all that stuff.
When are you gonna go ahead
and make a move on Misty or what?
- If I can get her alone tonight, I will.
- Hey, if you do, if you get more play than me,
that's wonderful.
- Yeah.
Well, things aren't that bad, here we come.
- Yep, shit is crazy.
- [Voiceover] All right, I need you to make sure
that you got those lights attached correctly,
'cause they're not hanging a light in this room.
- What? No lights, dude? Come on.
- Bro, this shit's abandoned, what are you, scared?
- Little bit.
But you know me.
- No, I'm not.
Let's get out of here.
- [Voiceover] Hey guys, everything is set up
and all the input is in place.
And we need to start as soon as possible,
but before I go to the van, I want everybody
to run those doors and introductions please
and no report's gonna run out.
Queen Anna here, take the lead on this?
- Don't mind if I do.
- [Voiceover] Of course you are, please.
- [Misty] Shocker.
Is this good?
- [Voiceover] Yes.
- Hi, my name is Anna Davenport,
and I'm a mass media major at
the University of Southwestern Louisiana.
I, along with my team members, Gavin Charles,
Genevieve Richard, Misty Gilroy, Ky Brooks,
and Jonah Girard are here to research
the legend of the hauntings of this plantation.
It is legend that the former mistress,
along with four Union soldiers, died violently here.
And their spirits are said to still haunt these walls.
In the recent past, there have been a few people
who have tried to inhabit this plantation.
However, due to the spirits,
they have not been said to stay very long.
We do have state-of-the-art equipment
that will capture some of the footage, hopefully.
Thank you.
We have an EMF meter which measures electro-magnetic fields.
Electro-magnetic fields are said to be present
whenever spiritual entities are around.
We also have an electric thermometer,
which will measure the air temperature in the room.
That is said to change whenever
these apparitions come into the same room.
Thank you.
And we do have a digital recorder which will record
any sounds that these spirits can make.
- In other words, people, if the bogeyman's here,
we'll catch him tonight.
- You're absolutely right.
Also, we decided to set up cameras
inside the home in the hot spots.
We believe the hot spots in this home
is the bedroom, the master bedroom,
the staircase, and the hallway.
This is where we believe we'll see the most activity.
- Besides the stationary cameras,
everyone but me will have on headcams.
These headcams will take the point of view
of each person as they go from room to room.
I will have a handheld camera as I move from room to room,
gathering each person's experiences
throughout the documentary.
And if he's smart, he'll keep it on this all night long.
- Down, tiger.
We'll just have to edit that out.
Um, finally, we'll have our engineer controlling
camera shots and monitoring footage from the van.
- [Ky] Think that's about it.
- Was that good?
- [Voiceover] It was good.
- [Jonah] All right, man, so what exactly
are we looking for up here?
- Okay, we got panties downstairs.
- [Jonah] Uh, did you not see
Misty's tits in that shirt?
- Hell no, I wasn't listening to, point well taken.
Wait, hold on.
- [Jonah] What?
- Dude, I think I hear something here.
- [Jonah] Seriously?
- Yeah, seriously.
Dude, there are definitely spirits in here, I can hear them.
Dude, are you getting this?
- [Jonah] Well, if you shut up, maybe I can.
- Oh yeah, do you hear it, do you hear?
- [Jonah] What?
- It's right here, hold on.
(farting)
Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh, taste it, bro.
- [Jonah] Oh, dude, you're such a dick.
Oh, you just shit your pants, didn't you?
- I definitely did, dude.
- This place is kinda creepy.
- I wonder if anyone else has seen anything.
- Oh, don't tell me you believe in this shit too.
- I don't know, I do, I don't.
- Well, I don't.
- Okay, well, you just said this place was kinda creepy.
- Yeah, and I totally meant in the sense of spiders and rats
not ghosts and goblins.
- Come on, what's in this closet then?
- Hey, no more playing the game with this door, no.
- It'll kill me if I don't.
- Everything is going to kill you.
Okay, fine.
- See, nothing in here, just clothes.
- Anna.
- These are pretty nice.
- There's nothing else in this house.
Why the fuck are there clothes?
- I don't know, check it out.
(screaming)
- Oh my god.
What the fuck is wrong with you?
- You scared the shit out of us.
That shit is not funny.
Seriously?
- [Gavin] It was hilarious.
Hilarious.
- What are you doing?
- You getting your ass whooped would be funny.
- [Gavin] Yeah, right, you would hurt me.
- Uh, Gavin, what are you doing here?
Where's Gen?
- I don't know.
I thought she was with you guys.
- She's supposed to be with you.
- Well, if you haven't noticed, we have to talk about that.
- 'Cause you're an ass.
- No, 'cause she's an ass.
- Okay, well that's great.
Where is her ass?
- No, I thought she was with you guys.
- Okay, well, she's not with us,
then she's probably deflowering Jonah.
- Jonah?
- Well, can you blame the girl?
You kinda did just come out of the closet.
- You know what, Misty?
Go fuck yourself.
- Hmm, I might.
- All right, well, I'm gonna go downstairs
and check and see if Ky and the other guys have Gen.
- I'll come with you.
- Hey, wait, me alone?
- Uh, yeah.
I thought you said you didn't believe in all this.
- Well, I don't.
I'll be fine.
- Okay, good, we'll be back.
- All right.
- [Anna] You have the lights on?
- [Gavin] Yeah, all right, let's go down.
- [Misty] Dammit!
No toilet, big shocker.
Big shocker, no toilet in the big plantation, Anna.
I fuckin' hate y'all, I hate y'all.
(stomping)
(leaves crunching)
- Really, Gen? You would find that the only plantation
ever without a bathroom, like!
(urinating)
Much better.
Ugh, this is so gross.
(screaming)
(water splashing)
- [Jonah] Hey Anna, what are you doing?
- Hey, what's up?
Nothing, I was actually, I was looking for,
I was just looking for you.
- [Jonah] I don't know where Ky is.
- [Anna] Seriously?
- [Jonah] No, I've been outside.
- [Anna] Have you seen Gen?
- [Jonah] No, no, I thought you all were together.
- [Anna] No.
Ooh, that stings.
I just wish people wouldn't just, like, wander off.
I don't think why, I don't know why they think
they can just like, be like, oh, okay, great,
we'll just go out own way, you know?
Then it's like, no dude, we're all in this together,
like, why would you just like, think you could, whatever.
- [Jonah] Well, I just wanna get some shots, you know?
While everyone's doing shit.
- [Anna] Yeah, I know, but I bet 10 bucks no one else
has their headcams on or anything.
Where are you going?
- [Jonah] Yeah?
- [Anna] Where are you going?
- [Jonah] I don't know.
(heavy breathing)
- [Jonah] Dude, you getting anything?
- Oh no, I wanna, shh.
- [Jonah] Sorry.
- That's cool.
- [Jonah] What's wrong?
- I don't know, I thought I heard something.
Hold on.
It's real staticky, dude, I don't know.
- [Jonah] Staticky?
- Man, I don't know, this is such a piece of shit.
Okay, that looks good, all right.
If there's any ghosts in here, please show yourselves.
- [Jonah] Hello?
We don't mean to harm you,
we just want to see if you're out here.
Any ghosts in the area?
- Hey Jonah, over here.
- [Jonah] What, are you getting something?
All right, yeah, yeah.
- [Ky] All right, one, two, three.
Man.
No way.
Are you sure that thing's working?
- [Jonah] Dude, you can check it yourself.
- [Ky] All right, let's see this shit.
- [Jonah] All right, um, can you look back?
What's wrong with it?
- [Ky] All right, well, it's working, it's on.
- [Jonah] Where are you getting that?
- [Ky] Here, I'll get it right there.
- [Jonah] Man, this is fucking dumb,
are we sure they were here?
- [Ky] Yes, dude.
(clapping)
- [Jonah] Dude, whatever man.
Let's just try to find everybody else.
- [Ky] Okay, maybe they found something,
I don't know.
- [Ky] Hey guys. - [Jonah] Hello.
- [Ky] Where in the hell are y'all?
- [Jonah] Guys!
- [Ky] All right, they're not here.
Hey, guys!
- [Jonah] You go outside and, all right.
- [Ky] It oughta get dark.
- [Jonah] Dude, I don't know.
- [Ky] Going over here?
- [Jonah] Yeah.
Man, they're not out here.
- [Gavin] Yo.
- [Jonah] God almighty.
- [Anna] You guys seen Gen?
- [Ky] No, I thought she was with y'all.
- Obviously, she's not.
- Well, no, that's because he was too busy
trying to scare the shit out of me and Misty, so.
- Yeah, whatever, whatever.
- [Ky] Speaking of Misty, where is she?
- [Gavin] We left her - [Anna] We left her upstairs
- [Gavin] upstairs somewhere. - [Anna] in the bedroom.
- [Ky] Perfect, I'm gonna see
if she's okay all alone.
- Yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, Misty isn't lost, Gen is.
- Dude, your woman, your problem.
Misty all alone up there?
My problem solved.
- Hold on, don't you need her wasted
like all your other conquests?
- Ha! No, but if it was you,
I would definitely have to be wasted.
- [Jonah] Look, forget him, honestly,
we need to find Gen.
- No, no, no, I'm going to look for Gen.
You guys just stay here and keep looking.
She's probably outside somewhere.
- [Jonah] Why the hell would she be outside by herself?
- Listen here, Jonah, I'm getting sick and tired
of you telling me what the hell she would or would not do.
Whatever you had in the past, that's all in the past.
- Okay, guys, all this arguing really isn't gonna find Gen.
- [Jonah] She's right.
- Don't worry about it. I'mma go look, and oh.
- [Jonah] Yeah, take your happy ass out there.
- [Anna] Stop it, Jonah.
- [Gavin] I'll deal with your ass later.
- [Jonah] All right, cupcake.
- Why are you doing this?
It's obvious that every time you say something about Gen
it pushes his buttons.
- [Jonah] I'm just trying to find her
like everybody else, all right?
She's made her choice and I accept it.
- I understand that, however, all this arguing
isn't gonna get the project done
and I honestly think that Gen's patience
is kinda wearing thin with his, like, uh
[Anna] Macho or whatever. - [Jonah] Okay, fine, fine.
Let's just go inside, come on.
(knocking on door)
- [Ky] Open up.
You dressed, Misty?
Sure hope not.
Where are you?
Okay, come with everyone else.
Misty, you in here?
(thumping)
- [Gavin] Gen!
Genevieve!
Come on girl, I know you're out here.
You better not be out here with Jonah,
pissed the fuck off.
Genevieve!
Girl, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to say what I said before.
You know how I get upset sometimes.
You know I'm easily angry.
(sighing)
Let me just make it up to you.
Genevieve!
For real though, where you at?
Man, this girl got me worried, where the hell is she at?
Baby, just sit there and talk to me.
Please, just give me a second to talk.
I just wanna go ahead and take the time to just apologize
for being an asshole, for being stupid and dumb.
I mean, I know how you get sometimes,
but don't treat me like this, don't do me like that.
Gen!
Girl, I know you hear me.
(crashing)
(static)
(creepy music)
(car door opening)
(motor revving)
- [Ky] Anna, did you hear that?
- What the hell was that noise?
- What the fuck, man, what was that?
- [Anna] I don't know.
- It was loud as hell.
- [Jonah] Is Misty still up there?
- No, I couldn't find her.
- This is getting weird.
- Well, maybe the bogeyman got her or something.
I don't know.
- Do you always have to be so stupid?
- [Jonah] Guys, look, our friends are missing,
Gavin's still not back yet,
let's just split up and be back here in 15.
- All right, cool, yeah, I'll be back here.
- No, no, no, we should all stay together.
- What for? Misty and Gen are probably together,
Gavin'll be back here in a minute,
let's just go.
- [Jonah] Look, he's right.
Let's go, come with me, we'll be back here in 15.
- Yeah, all right, cool. See you guys.
- [Anna] Something is not right.
Gavin and Misty would never split up like this.
You know that.
- [Jonah] Anna.
- [Ky] Misty! Genevieve!
Where are these fucking girls?
God dang.
Down here.
Misty, Gen, you down here?
Yo, quit fucking around.
Come on.
God, it's dark as shit down here.
(thumping)
- Where is everyone?
Missing, this is fucking stupid.
- [Jonah] Now this is stupid.
But when I said something earlier,
what about then?
- Fine, as soon as Gavin gets back, we'll go.
- [Jonah] Sounds great, can't wait.
- Gavin! Gen!
Genevieve!
- [Jonah] Hey, I think I heard something.
- What's that noise?
- [Jonah] It came from downstairs, I don't know.
- We should go.
- [Jonah] Wait, wait, look.
We don't know what the fuck's going on.
I think it's better that we just stay here
and wait for the others.
- That's one of our friends down there,
he needs our help, then we should go.
- [Jonah] Goddammit, this is fucking stupid.
- If it was you down there, you would want someone
to help you, wouldn't you?
- [Jonah] Fuck you.
This is such a dumbass idea.
Anna!
- What?
- [Jonah] Let's just go.
- No! We're going this way!
- [Jonah] It's just the fucking wind.
- Let's go.
I think I heard something down here.
- Oh my, oh my god, what the fuck?
- [Jonah] Holy shit!
(screaming)
(thumping)
- [Jonah] What was that?
Let's get out of here.
Fuck you, let me out of here.
- [Anna] Ky, please!
- [Jonah] What the fuck?
- [Anna] Please, please.
- [Jonah] What the fuck?
Fuck this.
- [Anna] No, don't do it.
- [Jonah] Ky, Ky.
(explosion)
- [Jonah] What the fuck was that?
- [Anna] Think, think, who else could it be?
It's the old guy with the keys.
- [Jonah] I don't fucking know, Anna,
but I'm getting us out of here, all right?
(banging on door)
- [Anna] I need to find everyone else.
- Anna, are you okay?
You're shaking.
Did you hear that?
- [Anna] Don't!
- [Jonah] I saw him.
(crying)
- [Jonah] It's okay, it's okay.
- [Anna] Jonah!
- [Jonah] It's okay, it's okay.
Look, listen to me, all right?
I'm gonna get us fucking out of here, all right?
It's gonna be okay, okay, all right.
I'm gonna get us out of here.
(heavy breathing)
What the fuck was that?
- [Anna] Oh my god.
- [Jonah] Shit.
(whimpering)
- [Anna] Be careful.
- [Jonah] I'm gonna get us out of here.
(screaming)
(knocking on door)
- [Jonah] All right, listen to me.
- [Anna] What? What?
- [Jonah] We gotta meet him down there.
Just follow my lead, we need to find the other side.
- [Anna] Please.
- [Jonah] Get the hell out of here.
- [Anna] Jonah, be careful, Jonah.
Please be careful, please.
- [Jonah] Now let's go find Gen and Misty
and get out of here.
- [Anna] Jonah, wait!
- [Jonah] Let's go, come on.
(panting)
Anna, let's go, this way.
Come on!
- [Anna] Jonah, slow down!
- [Jonah] Let's go!
(creepy music)
- [Anna] What was that?
- [Jonah] Nothing, let's move.
Come on.
Aw, shit.
(shrieking)
What?
- [Anna] I don't know, I don't know, I don't know.
- [Jonah] Shit, fuck!
- [Anna] Wait!
- [Jonah] Anna, come on!
What's that, are you okay?
- [Anna] There's a hole right there.
(panting)
- [Jonah] Oh shit, oh shit, oh shit.
Okay, let's go, follow me.
- [Anna] Where is he?
(panting)
- [Jonah] Careful.
(panting)
- [Anna] Girls!
(screaming)
- [Anna] Jonah!
- [Jonah] I'm in a prickle bush.
- [Anna] Come on.
(shrieking)
- [Jonah] What?
- [Anna] Charles!
Jonah, the van's around here somewhere.
It was right here.
- [Jonah] Where the fuck is the van?
- [Anna] It was --
- [Jonah] I parked it right here, Anna.
- No, you didn't, no, you didn't.
- [Jonah] The fuck are you doing?
I parked it right here, yes, I did.
- [Anna] No, you didn't, no, you didn't.
- [Jonah] Charles!
- [Anna] No, no, this is, you didn't --
This isn't right.
- [Jonah] I left it here.
Charles!
- [Anna] Charles!
Let's go back to the house, come on.
- [Jonah] What are you doing?
- [Anna] Going back to the house!
- [Jonah] Are you kidding me?
You're gonna go back to the house.
- [Anna] Yes I can, why not?
- [Jonah] Why not? I can give you so many reasons why not.
You know what's in there.
All right?
You saw what happened to Ky.
Doors don't just close by themselves, Anna.
There is something in that house.
- No, and you know what's safer?
To be in there than it is to be out here right now.
I can't keep wandering in the woods with you.
I can't do it, I can't, I'm out of breath, I'm tired.
- [Jonah] Anna, you don't know what's in there.
- Please, please, please, please.
How do you know?
- [Jonah] I don't.
- That whatever is in there isn't out there.
How do you know?
My lights aren't working.
We have no fucking light.
We're out in the middle of nowhere.
We've probably passed this place five million times
and we just now looked at it.
- [Jonah] Okay, we'll go, let's go.
- [Anna] Oh my god.
- [Jonah] Hold this.
- [Anna] I knew it was him.
He said there was something wrong with it
so he could come back and kill us.
Jonah, what are you doing?
Dude, what, what is it?
Jonah, what is it?
- Let's go.
- [Anna] Jonah, what is it?
Tell me what it is!
- [Jonah] It's Gavin, okay?
Gen.
- [Anna] Gen, come on, we gotta go.
- [Jonah] Gen, look, I'm sorry about Gavin.
We just need to get the hell out of here now.
(screaming)
- [Anna] Something's not right, can't find Misty!
- [Jonah] Misty! Go upstairs!
Misty, where are you?
- [Anna] Misty!
Holy shit, come on.
- [Anna] Misty!
(crashing)
(screaming)
- [Jonah] Holy shit!
Go, go, go, go!
(screaming)
(crashing)
(screaming)
- [Jonah] Whatever the hell this guy, or this thing is,
we'll just call for help.
- [Anna] Charles, if you can see this,
please, please, please help me.
Please help, please.
- [Jonah] Look, you stay in here.
I'm gonna lock the door,
and we'll see what the hell's going on down there.
- Don't go down there, please.
Please don't go down there.
- [Jonah] I have to.
I don't know if we're gonna make this.
And Misty's still in trouble.
- Misty's dead!
Everyone's dead!
- [Jonah] You don't know that.
And Gen is still out there.
All right?
- That wasn't Gen.
I don't know who that was.
- [Jonah] It's this fucking place.
We should have never came here.
But you have to stay with me, okay?
Lock the door.
I'll be back.
- Please don't.
- Just lock the door, please.
Anna, I'll be back.
I promise.
Stop it.
I promise.
(crying)
(thumping)
(crying)
(kicking door)
(screaming)
- Stop, stop, stop, please, please, please.
(chanting)
- Gen, Gen, Gen?
(groaning)
(bones breaking)
(thumping)
- [Voiceover] Anna, Anna, it's me.
(thumping)
- [Anna] Jonah?
- [Jonah] Open the door.
- [Anna] Gen.
(screaming)
(thumping)
(screaming)
- I'm standing in front of the Lafitte Plantation
here in Vacherie, Louisiana, where we are investigating
the possible homicide of six university students.
While it is unclear exactly what events took place here,
there is definitely a somber presence with us today.
Local police have yet to release any information
regarding the names of the students or possible suspects.
- So what you just saw is what we all saw.
And we're asking anyone who can give us any details
regarding her whereabouts to come forward
and inform the local police as soon as possible.
And on behalf of my family, we apologize
and our hearts go out to the families of the victims.
I will leave you with the last known footage
we have of my sister.
And if you do come in contact with her,
approach with caution.
- Why'd you do it?
- I told you guys several times before, I did not do it.
I'm so confused, I don't even know why I'm here.
I don't know what happened, I told the whole truth.
I did not do it.
- They were your friends.
- I'm not --
- Why did you murder your friends?
- I didn't murder my friends, they were my,
I wouldn't do that to my friends.
- So you're sure you knew to --
- No, I did not.
I'm so confused right now.
- Forensics report places your DNA on the murder scene.
- We were there.
- It places your DNA.
- I explained why I was there.
I was there, I know that, because when I woke up,
I was there, we were there for a project.
- Which, where were you?
Were you in the home?
- I was by myself.
- You was by yourself.
- Yeah.
- When you killed her, were you by yourself then?
- No, I didn't kill these people.
(arguing)
- I would never do my friends like that,
I wouldn't do anybody like that
that is not who I am,
I'm not that person.
Y'all got the wrong person.
I am not her, I am not her.
I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, y'all have the wrong person.
- Unless you start talking --
- I'm not the --
- This is gonna get really fucking bad for you.
- Sir, those are my friends, too.
They were my friends there.
- What happened to them?
- I don't, I cannot remember that evening.
I cannot, the last thing I remember,
I was, I woke up.
- Why were you in the woods in the first place?
Why, why were you there?
- I can't give you anything, I don't remember.
- But you remember being there?
- I remember us driving there
and I remember the drive there.
Everything after that is a complete blur.
I won't recollect any more, I cannot.
That was all that I know.
- You're guilty!
You're guilty and you know it!
We've got you now.
(crying)
(screaming)
(creepy music)
