mutilation phenomenon

is a result of
natural predators.

My name is Juan Zemora
and I'm from the

San Luis Valley in Colorado.

Rob Parks approached
me because I was trying

to promote my book.

He was looking to
pay me to perform.

I'm not saying he
wasn't nice about it,

but he just was not
interested in the truth.

The photographer, Dave,
he was a pretty nice guy.

He was genuinely interested
in what I had to say

and he believed me.

- [Voiceover] So tell me
about where the UFO crashed.

- The UFO crashed
on August 9th, 1967

on the commons in the
old town of Ortega.

Even though I was
young, I still remember.

My father was a
policeman in the valley.

One day I was riding with him,

and we saw something
flash across the sky.

It looked like a silver cigar.

A few minutes after that
there was a radio call

and the radio says
something about

a fire in the Ortega pasture.

When we got there,
it was obviously

some kind of crash site.

There was smoke and
then there was debris.

There was this metal,
looked like airplane metal,

but it was more
silvery than airplanes,

and then there was
the smell of chemicals

and it smelled like ammonia.

And then I saw it.

It had these long,
predator-like appendages.

Something like a praying mantis.

The closer I looked, I could
tell that it was in pain.

Its skin was burnt or burning,

just like an alien sun
would burn your skin,

and then it looked like
it was coming toward me.

And then the helicopters came.
