is ready to run.

Unlike Todd, Parker's game plan

to deliver 5,000 ounces

relies on just two wash plants.

In the creek cut,

sluicifer will run
280 yards of dirt an hour.

2 miles downstream
at Indian river,

big red runs
less than half the dirt,

so the crew
needs to get it running

as soon as possible.

All they have to do
is move it nearer to the cut.

we're already behind schedule.

And putting a liner in, that's
going to take another week,

and Parker is already sluicing.

Well, at this point, we've
just got to make a choice.

We already have double trouble's
settling pond.

It's full of water.
It's full of silt.

Why don't we dig a trench

between double trouble's
pond and ours,

blow the dam, wash some of
the silt down into our pond?

I think it'll seal it
just as good as a liner will.

Hunter's solution...
dig a channel

from monster red's empty pond

to double trouble's full pond.

The silt-rich water will then
flow down the channel.

As it settles,
the silt should create

a natural watertight liner,

sealing the pond.

I'm not so sure.

I mean, if you put a liner
in it, it's a surefire bet.

The thing I'm most worried
about is we blow

all that silt in there,
and we don't fix the leak.

We've got a pool full
of silt and no water.

I mean, we just don't know
until we do it.

You said you wanted to run
monster red.

You got a serious
decision to make.

This is going to affect
the entire season.

But if it doesn't work,

the Hoffmans will have
to delay sluicing

while they line
the pond with plastic,

putting them a week
behind Parker

and losing them hundreds of
thousands of dollars in gold.
