into everything with great

a good heart that a part

of me feels bad,

that's been done
toward me and my family.

Yet I believe in energy,

There's a greater probability

of a genie popping out of

step foot in my backyard.

want to leave them high
and dry for their wedding.

They're fine. It's an after
party. It's not their reception.

it's fulfilling.

We're finding
a decent work life balance.

when I first saw

the legislation,
I was like, this is incredible.

And the next morning I woke up
and I said, was I dreaming that?

I am so proud
of our little state.

We are the first state

to make menopausal women

a protective
class in the workplace.

We did a lot of work,
strategic work,

to pass that bill.

I think they should throw
a parade. I want a parade, too.

I do. I want a parade for them.

In the workplace,

there's certain
laws that protect you if,

you know,
say you're pregnant.

This bill means this is just

now for menopause because
it can be quite debilitating.

It's important
that women are able to

keep their jobs through it.

We're doing our best to put
out more information about this.

And Liz and I are
also working on something

that can help
women with their symptoms.

And it's really important to
get women to even not be

shameful about it, too.

After they learned about it,

a lot of
people in the committee were

sitting in
the back, like, oh, okay.

When I knew it would
be introduced into the labor

committee, and Karen on
the House side is the vice chair

of labor, I befriended
the chairman of labor

and I said, listen, I need
you to give me 10 minutes to

explain to your almost

all-male committee why

this is important to women.

And when I was done, several
of them approached me and said,

I didn't
know anything about this.

I didn't know my wife was
going through this menopause.

It affects your sleeping,

your temperature regulation,
your mood, your thinking.

When it first started happening

to me,
I was embarrassed by it.

My husband and I have

friends, like young guys
from the boating community.

And one of them comes up

to me and he's like,
I heard you're

going through menopause.

I'm like, what? No, I'm not.
Who told you that?

Yes, of course you are,
you unhinged nut.

Imagine how
many women are forced to

into early retirement
that we're not aware of.

For something
that could be temporary.

Like, you're
having heart palpitations,

you're feeling exhaustion,
brain fog.

You're like, I can't do my
job anymore and this will pass.

And then you're like,
what happened?

You know, so this is an issue
in the workforce because

when you're
at that age that you can

advance in your career,
you're suddenly confronted with

something.
- All these things.

So it really is in the test.
It's a workforce issue.

And that's why
it was really important

that Karen came
on board because she has

an important role on the labor
committee in the House.

So I'm not there yet, but.

You're the next generation,
and it will come.

And I feel like our age
have to be pioneers because no

one before us was able to do it.

Dolores and
I are developing a product

utilizing the cannabis plant
components toward menopause.
