[Between Love and Frost]

[Episode 7]

What?

Waiting for Gu Tongce

to explain to him?

You only care about him,

not my father's safety,

or how I feel, huh?

Put me down.

Tell me earlier if you want to use me.

How deeply do you feel for Gu Tongce?

Even at the cost of your fame,

you ruined my succession ceremony!

So all your kindness

and tenderness to me

were a lie, right?

No.

But I have things I must do.

To capture Chu Huaixuan,

you even ruined me.

From today on,

you're not leaving this mansion.

From now on,

I'll always keep an eye on you.

Try forcing your way out?

Bring it on.

Though we both

end up battered,

you still won't escape.

Even if you can,

you'll be too weak to kill Chu Huaixuan.

About what happened today,

I'm very sorry.

If you want to punish me,

torture me and take your revenge,

just do what you want.

But nothing will stop me.

Then go ahead and try.

He's raging right now.

Best not to clash head-on.

I'll wait and meet Gu Tongce.

We had an agreement.

Where is he?

You even bring it up?

You've ruined everything!

The succession ceremony was interrupted.

How did you do it?

As my woman,

you kissed Gu Tongpei in public.

Do I mean anything to you?

So

you refuse to keep your promise?

As you broke yours first,

you have no grounds to demand anything.

In this case,

I'll turn to Gu Tongpei for cooperation.

Unlike you, he won't be so erratic,

tearing up deals on a whim.

I can handle Gu Tongpei,

so I can also handle you.

If we join forces,

think hard about it...

He won't trust you.

He hasn't killed me yet.

Don't you think he trusts me?

You and I

are not a couple,

but partners.

I don't know why you're pissed off

and why you are mad.

But tonight I must

see Chu Huaixuan,

or

I won't let you go.

Now

I must not offend her.

Without my permission,

how dare you wander off?

Mr. Liu,

what do you want to do?

She ruined the succession ceremony.

She must harbor ulterior motives.

I need arrest her

for rigorous interrogation!

Take her away!

- Yes. - Yes.

Without my explicit orders,

who dares lay a finger on her?

Do you act like a Military Governor?

Going to such lengths to defend her.

What will your father think

if he finds out?

This is my family affair.

Stay out of it!

Today, no one lays a hand on her.

Go.

I...

No more words.

Minghui.

Your matter is all done.

You may collect him now.

We're paid to kill you.

I'm sorry, Mr. Chu.

[Palace of Joy]

So it's you who want to kill me?

Why?

It has been just a decade,

yet you've forgotten me.

You are...

What happened?

He struck a deal with me,

and paid far more than you did

for your life.

I'll trade businesses on four streets

for my own life.

Let me go

and kill the one who bought my death.

Who'd turn down easy money?

Fair enough.

Precisely.

No one would turn down easy money.

I'd drag someone down with me.

But if he is dead,

who'll pay you then?

Don't listen to her wild talk!

Take her out!

I'll pay you just the same.

Someone reported

gunfire and brawling here!

Take them back to the bureau for interrogation.

I'm just doing business

with Mr. Chu.

Long,

we've known each other long enough.

Today, you broke the rules.

If I simply let you walk away,

tomorrow Jiang City will drown in chaos.

You'll come with me.

What if I refuse?

Put down your weapon if you wish to live.

You people

have no regard for rules these days.

Tongce,

even as the police director,

you can't contain them.

Are you alright?

Tongpei,

leave maintaining the law

and order to me.

Mr. Chu,

please come with us.

I need to see the Military Governor.

Come with us for a full investigation

and then

you'll see him.

Take them all!

Go! Hurry up!

Move!

What's happening?

I've kept tabs on him

and noticed something off.

I raced over here out of worrying you.

You can rest easy.

Tonight, Chu Huaixuan isn't escaping.

Let's go.

Sorry, no time to explain.

Release me!

Why do you lock me up?

Let me out!

I demand to see the Military Governor.

[A mother reaps her own woes.] I demand to see the Military Governor.

Someone!

Why do you lock me up?

Guards!

Let me out!

You wretched creature!

How I wish I had killed you back then!

I shouldn't have let you survive!

Back then, as my father died young,

you deceived my mother with sweet talk

and married into our family

only

to betray us.

You even slaughtered my family for wealth.

Luckily, I survived precisely for this day

to hunt down a fiend like you!

You want to kill me?

If so, you would have struck long ago.

With my power now,

dare you even attempt it?

I spare your life

only to ask you questions.

About those who murdered my family,

besides you, Mr. Liu

and Mr. Sun,

who was the fourth?

You want to know?

In your dreams!

I'll kill you.

Fine by me.

See if you can survive till then.

I'll talk!

Tell me who it was!

It's...

What is he?

You even protect him like this!

Alright.

I'm asking you one last time!

The Military Governor Gu Rongchong.

I propose

we toast

to my son, Gu Tongpei.

We can

get along peacefully.
