INTRO

00:00:21:13-00:00:28:20

This is Planet Action!

In this episode, we get up close and personal with the son of Krypton himself, Henry Cavill

Quote: Henry Cavill

00:00:28:18- 00:00:41:06

“Going down to the shops or whatever to pick up some milk or some food or food for the dog you get asked for photographs. So, you have to be ready for that, because you know that photograph isn’t just that person’s private collection at home. That’s going to be all over the internet.

00:00:41:10- 00:00:44:10

show you how you can get as buff and ripped as Kevin Hart

Quote: Mohamed Elzomor

00:00:44:11 - 00:01:00:24

“Kevin Hart is not particularly known for being in great shape, but his trainer does a very good job of keeping him in shape. Kevin actually brings him wherever he goes, and it shows. If you look at pictures of Kevin Hart with his shirt off, the dude looks ripped. And he a lot to stay in that kind of shape.

00:01:01:09- 00:01:10:17

and find out why almost everyone on the planet wants to own a Harley Davidson!

00:01:10:18- 00:01:18:07

But first, let’s check out our Planet Action Top 3 most expensive movie scenes that were shot but didn’t make it into the final film!

Movie Shortlist-Top 3 Most Expensive Movie Scenes That Got Cut

1.

00:01:24:09- 00:02:20:13

Films frequently change a lot on their journey from the script to the screen, hopefully before you’re on set, but not always. Here are our Top 3 Most Expensive Movie Scenes That Got Cut.

At number three, it’s ‘Superman Returns’. The 2006 superhero flick originally opened with a six-minute silent sequence of Supes in space. The studio hated it, and threw out the footage, which had cost around $12 million bucks.

On the second place we find ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’. Actress Anna Paquin returned as Rogue for the movie, only to see her scenes left out of the final edit. On top of Anna’s salary of $2.8 million, reshoots to smooth over the cuts cost a further $20 mil.

And our top spot goes to ‘World War Z’. Producers decided to delete the final thirty minutes, an epic battle in Russia that had already been filmed, and replace it with a lighter, more hopeful ending, to the tune of $25 million dollars.

INTERMEZZO

00:02:25:09- 00:02:38:01

American hunk Brandon Routh was the actor playing Supes when they cut out that scene on Superman Returns but unfortunately, he didn’t RETURN to the role after that. Let’s check out the British Hunk who replaced him, Henry Cavill!

In Depth - Henry Cavil

1.

00:02:43:00- 00:03:01:20

This episode we’ve decided to put Superman himself under the magnifying glass; aka Henry Cavill. The British actor is quite the star nowadays, but he remembers the time before he was famous all too well. The days when he had only one fan…

00:03:02:19- 00:03:17:00

Quote: Henry Cavill

“My younger brother pretty much wanted to do whatever I did. Which at that age I found strangely annoying. Now I would find it flattering, but if he ordered the same thing as me, which he always did if we went to a restaurant when we were kids. It used to drive me nuts. I don't know why.”

2.

00:03:17:00- 00:03:34:24

Well, we totally get your brother, Henry! But although he was his sibling’s idol, during his childhood, the future star was bullied a lot at school for his chubbiness. And even became known as 'Fat Cavill.' Henry turned to acting as a way to take his mind off his troubles.

Quote: Henry Cavill

00:03:35:00- 00:03:54:16

“What I always wanted to do was just tell fantastic stories which hopefully would send good messages out to people, to kids, to adults. Whether it’s feel good or whether it’s feel bad or whatever emotion the story evokes I would just be… I’m just very keen to tell great stories.”

3.

00:03:55:12- 00:04:34:14

He started to turn things around when he landed his first role in ‘The Count of Monte Cristo’ in 2002, where he had to lose a lot of weight to get the part. The biggest turning point came with 2011’s ‘Immortals’ though, where Cavill had to be shirtless for half the movie and created a muscular eight pack of abs! Let’s just say he hasn’t been called ‘fat’ again since… His new physique, combined with his classic good looks, has led him to bigger and bigger roles, as well as legions of female fans who call themselves ‘The Cavillry’. Becoming a superstar all of a sudden did take some getting used to for Henry though…

Quote: Henry Cavill

00:04:34:15- 00:04:50:24

“Going down to the shops or whatever to pick up some milk or some food or food for the dog you get asked for photographs. So, you have to be ready for that, because you know that photograph isn’t just that person’s private collection at home. That’s going to be all over the internet. And if it’s a bad one it’ll be especially all over the internet.”

4.

00:04:53:00- 00:05:08:12

It’s pretty hard to find any bad pictures of Henry on the Internet though, so no worries there… in 2013, His muscled body also helped him land the coveted role of THE superhero of superheroes: Superman! But let's get one thing out of the way right now.

Quote: Henry Cavill

00:05:08:13- 00:05:10:17

“I’m not actually Superman, but I give it a good shot.”

5.

00:05:10:21- 00:05:15:09

Growing up, Henry already had a strong affiliation with the man of steel.

Quote: Henry Cavill

00:05:15:10- 00:05:37:06

“He was my favourite character. I mean... of course, my parents tried to raise me as, and all of us boys, in that sort of vein. In the positive outlook, trying to help everyone around you. Strength before weakness kind of idea. And Superman is a great reflection of that. And so naturally we all gravitated towards that character.”

6.

00:05:40:00- 00:05:51:02

Besides losing a lot of weight and creating his muscular body, Henry also goes through other transformations for film roles. Like rocking the moustache, you already saw in the interview!

Quote: Henry Cavill

00:05:53:08- 00:05:59:13

“I mean it’s on my face. Like any kind of facial hair, you forget that it’s there until you see yourself in the mirror and that can be a shock.”

7.

00:06:00:24- 00:06:12:13

While we’re definitely on board with the body transformation, we’re not too sure about that ‘stache just yet… But then again, like the hair on Henry’s face, maybe it just has to grow on us!

INTERMEZZO

00:06:17:23- 00:06:32:18

We’re still not done with this British beefcake so let’s follow Henry Cavill to yet another of his fantastic film roles. In 2015, he went from being Superman Clark Kent, to playing Super Spy Napoleon Solo in action spy film The Man from Uncle. Let’s check it out!

Trivia-The Man From U.N.C.L.E

B-roll: ‘The Man From U.N.C.L.E’

00:06:38:15- 00:06:45:03

“Where are we going with this?”

1.

00:06:45:09- 00:07:23:22

Meet CIA agent Napoleon Solo and KGB operative Illya Kuryankin, the protagonists from 2015’s ‘The Man from U.N.C.L.E.’.

The movie is set in the early nineteen sixties during the height of the cold war. Our two heroes are bitter enemies at first, but are ultimately forced to work together to defeat a villain and save the world.

The film is a reboot of the popular sixties TV series of the same name. Those were partially developed by Ian Flemming, the guy who created James Bond. In fact, the character Napoleon Solo started out as a person in Ian’s novel ‘Goldfinger’.

This version is directed by Guy Ritchie, and his unique style of filmmaking can be seen in literally every scene.

Quote: Guy Ritchie

00:07:24:17- 00:07:53:23

“Essentially I’m trying to make an entertaining film. So how long can you hold on a scene before there needs to be an element within that scene that wakes you up. And to make sure that the amalgam of components, entertaining components are there. And the sum total being a film that’s actually going to motivate you to get off of your bum to go see it.”

2.

00:07:53:24- 00:08:03:21

‘The Man from U.N.C.L.E.’ is filled with action and stunts. Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer, the actors who play Napoleon and Illya, did most of them themselves. Even when they weren’t 100% safe.

Quote: Henry Cavill

00:08:04:24- 00:09:10:13

“The only time there is ever any risk, is when we're probably doing the water stuff. Because under water if you're not wearing a mask you can't really see anything. They do have safety divers down there, but you have no idea where the safety diver is. So if for whatever reason, like I had to swim I had a spot on me and then dive under water, swim twenty feet down to you at least, and then grab on me, and then, cause I couldn't see him, he's a shadow in the distance. I eventually find his body, pick him up, and then I had to swim to the surface and he's being a dead weight as well. So that’s another twenty feet to the surface. In one breath… that can be a little tricky. If you get that wrong, and you end up inhaling a whole bunch of water, it doesn't matter how, if there is a safety diver there or not, like you still have to be dragged to the surface and pulled out and your lungs pumped out and everything. And you have no idea where it is. So that’s the only time there’s a risk.“

This film has a truly international cast, with actors coming from all over Europe. There are only two characters in the entire film who could keep their own accents.

Swedish star Alicia Vikander plays the female lead and had to learn German for her role.

Quote: Alicia Vikander

00:09:10:15- 00:09:34:09

“That was really really tough but exciting. I think it’s such a beautiful language. I really enjoy… all of us had a wonderful dialect coach that we worked with. So I think that’s one of those things as an actor is a true gift of an accent or a language because it kind of immediately brings you out of yourself and into a new character, so it’s a great tool. But it’s hard.”

3.

00:09:34:12- 00:09:48:15

In the end ‘The Man from U.N.C.L.E.’ received mixed reviews and failed to make an impact at the box office. We conclude our item on it with one final trivial fact. David Beckham has a cameo in the movie, so if you plan on watching it, keep an eye out, maybe you can spot him.

B-roll: ‘The Man From U.N.C.L.E’

00:09:48:18- 00:09:55:14

“Gentlemen, what a touching scene. Cocktails, a lovely view… nice bonfire I noticed to keep you warm.”

INTERMEZZO

00:10:00:12- 00:10:14:07

It’s not completely impossible to be a real-life action star like Henry Cavill, all you have to do is look the part! And nothing makes you look more like a super cool action star than a super sweet Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Must Have - Harley Davidson

1.

00:10:24:09- 00:12:39:12

A Harley Davidson bike is one of the most iconic things to own of all time. The styling, the sound, and the overall vibe of these motorcycles appeal to people from all walks of life, from top level captains of industry to superstar celebrities, and rightly so: a Harley is always of high quality and always instantly recognizable wherever it may roam.

Riding a Harley is like riding a joy machine. It’s a mechanical wonder, a metal bird, a motorized prosthetic. It’s light and dark, shiny and dirty, warm and cold lapping over each other. A conduit of grace, a catalyst for bonding the gritty and the holy. It’s like flying three feet off the ground.

The Harley Davidson Motor Company is the quintessential producer of American bikes. Close your eyes and think about a classic, red-blooded American motorcycle. The first two words that jump into your head are ‘Harley’ and ‘Davidson’, right?

The Harley Davidson Company has created some of the most legendary beasts on two wheels that the world has ever seen. It’s the classic muscle bike, with a cool factor attached to it that’s practically unique.

Speaking of cool: surely, one of the greatest Harley fans out there must be Jason Mom, judging from what he shows us on his insta page after visiting the Harley-Davidson Museum.

As a Harley fan Jason is certainly in good company. Brad Pitt. Angelina Jolie. Marlon Brando. Pink. Bruce Springsteen. Gal Gadot. Tom Cruise. Tom Hardy. Keanu Reeves.

The list of members of the elite who’ve owned a Harley is unimaginably long. Seriously, we could go on for hours naming them all.

And what does that say about the bike itself? Well, for one thing: that it’s not actually that special to have one. But it seems to be a necessary thing to add to your A-List fleet. A sweet little item to tick off your privileged class wish list. A Must Have indeed.

BREAK

INTERMEZZO

00:12:45:01- 00:12:57:06

Still to come, we move from 2 to 4 wheels with Cars and Coffee and tell you how to get buff and ripped as Kevin Hart, but first here’s everything you need to know about this self-proclaimed comedic rock-star!

Star File - Kevin Hart

1.

00:13:01:24- 00:13:15:20

Funny man Kevin Hart had a rough childhood. His dad struggled with substance abuse and was in and out of prison, so the future star turned to humour as a way to cope. But he never really saw it as a career, and instead became a shoe salesman when he got out of school.

Quote: Kevin Hart

00:13:16:03- 00:13:27:03

“Graduation day was the scariest day of my life. ‘Cause that’s when I figured out, I didn’t have a plan. Hey, what y’all doin’ next year? Y’all goin’ to college and stuff? Wait, wait, when y’all fill out those applications?”

2.

00:13:27:15- 00:13:39:24

Luckily, he soon found his calling as a stand-up comedian then slowly worked his way into acting. Small parts in films like ‘Grudge Match’ and ‘The Five-Year Engagement’ led to his first leading role, 2014’s ‘Ride Along’ opposite Ice Cube.

Quote: Kevin Hart

00:13:40:00- 00:13:56:15

“I’m not a person who is oblivious to how big of an opportunity this is, and you know, the movie came out amazing, man, so right now the sky can honestly be the limit. It’s just about how I handle it from here, and hopefully people will see it and we might be talking a possible franchise.”

3.

00:13:56:23- 00:14:01:18

A year later, another buddy comedy followed, this time with Josh Gad, called ‘The Wedding Ringer’.

Quote: Kevin Hart

00:14:02:05- 00:14:13:00

“You know, at the end of the day, the ultimate message is friendship is important. Everybody needs somebody to talk to, everybody needs somebody to open up to. Regardless of how tough, how big bad and bold you think you are; everybody needs to be vulnerable to somebody.”

4.

00:14:13:05- 00:14:15:17

Hart’s Hollywood career was off and running.

Quote: Kevin Hart

00:14:15:20- 00:14:21:04

“I’m on a rocket. And I’m like this: Whooosh.”

5.

00:14:21:10- 00:14:30:19

In 2016, Kevin re-teamed with Ice Cube for the sequel, ‘Ride Along 2’. A common theme in the star’s interviews is how grateful he is for all his success.

Quote: Kevin Hart

00:14:30:22- 00:15:04:22

“I love life, man. I love that I am blessed. I am excited about every day that I get to wake up and do what I dreamed of doing. So, every day I have energy, every day I’m in good spirits. On my worst day, I’m still a good guy. I think that’s why I’m so approachable. That’s why fans come up and say hello and speak and I’m excited to see ‘em, and I try to make as many people happy as I can, simply because I’ve realized how fortunate I am to be in a position that I am.”

6.

00:15:05:15- 00:15:17:15

Later that year, ‘Central Intelligence’ offered Hart perhaps his funniest partner yet, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. The two play a nerd and a star athlete in high school, who grow up to find their roles reversed later in life.

Quote: Kevin Hart

00:15:17:19- 00:15:25:13

“I was friends with everybody in high school. So, I was the cool guy that was cool with everybody. Regardless of how popular I was, I was loved by all.”

7.

00:15:25:16- 00:15:34:11

And he started lending his distinctive voice to animation, like ‘The Secret Life of Pets’. Kevin doesn’t find recording voiceovers much different from normal acting.

Quote: Kevin Hart

00:15:35:03- 00:15:44:20

“It’s the same energy. I can’t box this stuff up! Unless you ask me to play a character that has none, you get the best of what I have to offer.”

8.

00:15:45:00- 00:15:50:19

Another family friendly flick followed, ‘Captain Underpants’, a film the star made to watch with his children.

Quote: Kevin Hart

00:15:51:00- 00:16:06:01

“I’m still gonna mix it up. You know, dad’s still gonna do some crazy stuff. But now that I have the opportunity to do things for my kids, I think it’s a must. You know, that’s what makes being a dad amazing, you know, you give, and you take. And they love the fact that they can come see things that their dad is in. That’s the best part.”

9.

00:16:06:08- 00:16:15:14

In 2017, Hart once again shared the screen with Dwayne Johnson — even though it’s hard to fit them both in there — in the long-awaited sequel ‘Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle’.

Quote: Kevin Hart

00:16:15:22- 00:16:31:13

“Having the opportunity to take ‘Jumanji’ and make a continuation of what that world was, and do it with this amazing cast, we were kids in a candy store. It was literally the best time that I think I’ve had doing a movie, on and off screen. It was amazing. Bless.”

10.

00:16:31:15- 00:16:40:07

And 2018 found him starring with his old pal from the stand-up circuit Tiffany Haddish, now an actress, and someone Kevin can’t say enough good things about.

Quote: Kevin Hart

00:16:40:07- 00:16:51:11

“Ultimately, Tiffany and I get along, and we’re more than friends, there’s a nice brother and sister relationship here. So, I’m happy to see her shine tonight, and I hope people receive her well in this film.”

11.

00:16:51:19- 00:16:57:16

Kevin Hart’s career shows no signs of slowing down, and he’s been called the funniest man in America.

INTERMEZZO

00:17:05:00- 00:17:15:19

Kevin Hart is part of a long list of comedians who have guest hosted comedy variety show ‘Saturday Night Live’. Let’s check out other top stars who also appeared and got their starts on this witty show.

Celebrity Shortlist-Top 3 Actors Who Started On ‘Saturday Night Live’

1.

00:17:20:23- 00:18:15:05

Comedians usually need a safe place to hone their sense of humour, before going on to tickle our funny bones on the big screen. One good place to start is on a sketch comedy show, so here are our Top 3 Actors Who Started On ‘Saturday Night Live’.

At number three, it’s Robert Downey Jr. Most people forget that Robert was even on the show way back before he was headlining the Marvel Universe, as he only appeared for one season in 1985, considered by many to be one of SNL’s worst.

On the second place we find Will Ferrell. A true workhorse on the show for seven years, Will specialized in making everyone else in his scenes look funnier. After leaving the series, he conquered Hollywood and became one of the show’s most successful alums, returning to host multiple times.

And our top spot goes to Bill Murray. Added to the cast in the second season, Bill’s secret seems to be his everyman appeal, making being hilarious look so easy, it seemed to everyone watching as if maybe they could do it too, and that’s why he’s still a star so many years later.

INTERMEZZO

00:18:23:22- 00:18:34:19

From a classic corvette to a modern Ferrari 458, this funnyman’s car collection is no joke. And if you are a car junkie like Kev, one event you must add to your bucket list is Cars & Coffee

Celebrity Lifestyle Luxury-Cars & Coffee

1.

00:18:40:24- 00:18:57:16

Cars and coffee. Not only is it a really good combination, it’s also the name of an event where lovers of automobiles and hot beverages come together to meet, exchange stories and admire each other’s vehicles. We attended the Santa Barbara edition to gawk at all the awesome rides.

Quote: Monte Wilson

00:18:57:18- 00:19:27:06

“We started this about six years ago as a way to kind of bring the local community together. We kept seeing all these amazing cars riding around Santa Barbara and we thought let’s kind of bring everybody together and give us a common place to meet. We thought we’d get fifteen to twenty cars maybe on a good day and you can see it blows up to a hundred, hundred and fifty cars on any given Sunday. It’s really fun. We have such an eclectic group of cars. Anything from the most classic cars to the most modern exotic sports cars.”

2.

00:19:27:15- 00:19:40:14

Santa Barbara is known for its expensive real estate and wealthy residents. Oprah Winfrey for example paid no less than $50 million for her Santa Barbara mansion. Talk about the ideal location to show off some fancy cars!

Quote: Monte Wilson

00:19:40:24- 00:20:10:12

“Santa Barbara is a real mixing bowl of people. You got some very high-profile celebrities and you get some people that worked through life and chose to retire. The thing that’s kinda fun about Cars and Coffee is just the common feel. We have some people you’d recognise in a heartbeat who come on a regular basis, but they’re just here about the cars. So, the cars are kind of the common thread that allow everybody to mix and talk and just have fun and enjoy the community. Bring us closer together.”

3.

00:20:10:16- 00:20:18:03

But it’s not just Santa Barbara residents who visit the event. From all over the United States, car lovers come together to share their common passion.

Quote: Monte Wilson

00:20:18:03- 00:20:56:14

“We get people that come up from Malibu on a regular basis. Every now and then we’ll get some cars from as far south as San Diego who come up. Especially during Car Week when we have the Pebble Beach Concourse, we call it the Monterey Car Week. We get a lot of groups that come through on their way up to that. Last year we had a group of Pagani come through. It’s rare to see a Pagani, we had like eight. Things like that. So especially during that week you get a lot of people coming through… we get people from as far north as San Francisco. We have the Pacific Coast Highway, which is such a fun route to drive, and this is on the way. So, people come through here on a regular basis.”

4.

00:20:56:14- 00:21:01:13

And of course, the L.A.-listers also know how to find their way to the Santa Barbara event!

Quote: Monte Wilson

00:21:01:23- 00:21:36:08

“Due to our proximity to LA we get a lot of people from the film industry here, so it’s pretty common that… in fact we have a couple here today that are directors in the film industry. Writers, producers, stars, because people that are associated don’t want to be caught up in the whole Hollywood thing and Santa Barbara is close enough that they can get back very easily for their productions. This is a little bit their escape. We have a lot of retired corporate executives of some of the largest brand companies in the world that may have a second home here or this is where they’re going to retire to.”

INTERMEZZO

00:21:47:09- 00:22:05:19

Let’s put one of those cars we just checked out in reverse because we’re still not done with our comedic Rockstar Kevin Hart! Even though he’s just 5 feet and 4 inches tall, his body is as ripped and toned as any we’ve seen on much bigger and taller movie stars! So, just for you, here’s our guide on how to get ripped like Kevin Hart!

TIPS - How to get ripped like Kevin Hart

1.

00:22:14:11- 00:22:35:21

When thinking of buff stars, there’s a fair chance you’re picturing the likes of Dwayne Johnson, Arnold Schwarzenegger or Chris Hemsworth. Today, however, well be looking at the fitness regimes of someone who - with his 5 feet 4 - managed to stay a bit under the radar; enter Kevin Hart.

While the funny man doesn’t have a superhero height, he definitely has the abs to be one.

Quote: Mohamed Elzomor

“Kevin Hart is not particularly known for being in great shape, but his trainer does a very good job of keeping him in shape. Kevin actually brings him wherever he goes, and it shows. If you look at pictures of Kevin Hart with his shirt off, the dude looks ripped. And he a lot to stay in that kind of shape. But if I ha to break it down and give you two exercises he probably does; I think he is doing high intensity stuff. He’s burning a lot of calories. So, he is just not lifting weights and resting between sets, he is constantly moving. Someone like that is definitely lighter weight. He is not a big dude, but it is high intensity. It is high wraps. And it is nonstop for at least thirty or forty minutes.”

2.

00:23:14:22- 00:23:46:24

Since the comedian started working out some years ago, he gradually became a fitness addict. CrossFit, high-intensity training, strength & conditioning, endurance… Kev has tried them all. Also, he’s really gotten into running, with the 5k being his favourite distance. He’s gotten so good at it; he even ran it in about 18 minutes. On top of that, he’s picked up yoga to improve his flexibility.

And that brings us to one of his go-to sport; boxing! His Instagram account is full of videos of him training like a pro.

3.

00:23:55:13- 00:24:03:17

It should be clear; Kevin Hart is a gym junkie! So how often do you need to work out to get a physique like his?

Quote: Mohamed Elzomor

00:24:03:02- 00:24:20:07

“He probably doesn’t do it super intensely every day. If you work out that hard you should at least have two or three days where you’re working on recovery. Working on your flexibility, mobility, you’re rolling out. Or just hanging out at home, eating clean, eating healthy. Recovering properly. Because that is just as important as your workouts.”

4.

00:24:20:24- 00:24:42:18

When it comes to his diet, Hart mostly sticks to brown rice, baked chicken and vegetables. He tries to shy away from carbs as much as possible.

If there’s one thing the star has taught us, it’s that with the right mindset and dedication - well, and a personal trainer that’s with you every day - anyone can get an enviable physique! No matter how small you are.
