I decided to join
this Greenpeace campaign

for many reasons,

but maybe the most important is that I believe in it..

I believe in what it stands for

I believe in the importance of preserving the oceans.

I believe in the importance of this journey, this expedition,

with all kinds of scientists,

professionals who are going to show us

all the things we should do and not do

and for me it's a privilege to be here

and to serve as a communicator of what I'm seeing..

We see here the mass of krill plankton,

base of the food chain of whales, feeding them directly,

and the sardines that the penguin s eat.

If we protect this zone, we can keep protecting the other oceans.

I guess it means spreading the word to the maximum number of people

so that there's popular pressure,

to get subscriptions

and people supporting the campaign

They react because of the-media

and when there's. a popular environmental issue.

That's what moves them.

Now there's a window of opportunity.. -And we have to go for it..

We act as agitators for "people power ".

Yes.

I need to know. what we're going to say,

what the point of view is.

How the micro leads to the macro.

How the situation,

the sanctuary here, has...

... an echo effect on world climate.

and a pioneer falls to bits

We've come up the mountain

and behind us we have the "chinstrap penguins "

We're here,

without bothering them

because they're with their babies.

Connecting with nature in its highest expression, right?

Seeing how they eat the krill

what they do to be able to eat this crustacean,

going around, making bubbles.

The relationship this has with the other animals,

the birds, how they feed on

the krill they bring to the surface.

It's a perfect machine

of balance between species of.

resources and how the human being. doesn't have to interfere with that,

doesn't have to destroy it.

We must be witnesses to this in order to protect it,

to not ruin it, exploit it, dirty it or put an end to it.

An extraordinary, unique experience

for so many reasons.

First for having the privilege. of being a witness to something

that not many people have

of getting close to. these virgin lands on expeditions

and seeing their natural beauty

And then for living with a group of people.

who give all they've got to protect our home,

our common home, belonging to everyone,

and they do it with a tenderness and a vigour,

an awareness of what they're doing.

of how they're doing it, with extraordinary care.

There's an extraordinary vibe on the ship.

The day-to-day work on board

is gruelling,

they don't stop, they never stop doing scientific research,.

going down in submarines to the seabed,.

traversing different landscapes to document it with photography, video..

Our task on this mission is to serve as spokesmen

so that this message that is so important reaches people.

If we get millions of signatures,

they do have weight, they work.

The message that must be conveyed

is that this is how things work.

In October 2018, delegates from 50 countries are meeting.

to decide if in this part of the Antarctic Ocean

the planet's largest protected zone is to be created..

It's a miracle to me.

And the people really supporting the cause, it's great..

They're right into the campaign

Nature's art is incomparable, original and unique.

Beautiful.

When we let nature speak for itself,
