we live in the best kingdom
in the whole wide world.

Why, there's so much fun to be had,

I don't think we can ever have it all.

- (chuckles) That's a
pretty good problem to have,

I'll tell you that.

- I know, right?

Today's gonna be great,
just like every day.

- Oh, that reminds me,

I have an idea for a brand new holiday

that I think trolls all
across the kingdom will love.

- A new holiday?

I'm all about it, I love holidays,

tell me more, Cupcake.

- Okay,

the holiday I'm proposing
is called Troll Friends Day.

- Troll Friends Day, I have
loads of troll friends,

they'd love to have their own day.

- And as their friend,
it would be your day too.

- Wow, yeah, my very own holiday,

that's a genius idea, Cupcake.

How do you plan to make it real?

- Well, I'm gonna float the idea

to some of our non-troll
friends to see what they think

and make sure they're not bothered by it.

Then, if I get good feedback,

I'll go to King Basil

and petition to have it
officially named on our calendars.

- Wow, it's so cool to think
that a little troll like you

could change our whole entire kingdom

just based on an idea.

- I know, isn't it wild?

I'm gonna get Fairypie and go ask around,

then we'll play.

- Okay.

(dramatic music)

- Smell that, Thorn.

- Are you cooking sauce again, King Basil?

- No, I'm not cooking sauce,

I'm putting my nose to the wind,

and not liking what I'm smelling.

- Oh, if I may make a suggestion,

George the Blacksmith
fashions a fine bronze oil

that doubles as a air freshener.

I could procure some,
if your senses require.

- Nay, Thorn, though I
appreciate the gesture.

My problem isn't so easily
resolved, I'm afraid.

You see, what my senses struggle over

is a wretched kindness
that permeates our land.

- Kindness? Despicable!

What's the source of this goodwill, King?

- That's just it, Thorn,
I can't pinpoint it.

Citizens smile, residents are content,

even our adversaries seem happy.

- My stomach turns in disgust.

We should identify the
source of these pleasantries

and squash it with the force

of a thousand traptalarycon.

- I've considered it, Thorn, trust me,

for goodwill and peace

are the banes of any
monarch worth their salt.

- Mm, speaking of salt,
and bat wings, and newts,

there is a spell of sorts

that may assuage this vile problem.

- A spell? Do tell.

- There exists in this realm

an obscure spell from
our kingdom's dark ages,

one that even I haven't mastered.

It can plunge any land
into chaos of ill will,

suspicion, bullying, intimidation,

and ultimately, war.

- That truly sounds like
a marvelous spell, Thorn.

What's it known as?

- It's called Troll Net.

- Troll Net? Fabulous.

However can we harness
it in this day and age?

- I'll have to research it, King.

The secrets lie within my
extensive and arcane volumes.

But know this, once the Troll Net is cast,

there is no going back,

the strife that will overtake our land

shall not be undone by mere mortal hands.

- Sounds like my kinda spell, Thorn.

- I thought you'd feel that way, King.

- Tell me this, Thorn,

how quickly might you
acquire this Troll Net?

- As quickly as my fingers

can turn the pages of my books, King.

- Then turn those pages, Wizard.

The sooner we can engineer
mayhem across the land,

the sooner we, and we alone,
will control this kingdom,

from the highest mountaintops
to the lowest valley,

from the brightest sunspot
to the darkest shadow.

- Since you put it like
that, I'll get right on it.

- Excellent, Thorn!

A kingdom is worth nothing
unless one can dominate it.

And goodwill only fosters
collaboration, not control.

We shall take what is rightfully ours

and wipe those smiles
from the people's faces.

(Thorn laughs)

- I like the way you think, King Basil.

- And I you, Thorn.

When all is said and done,

they will carve our likenesses

in the stone of Mount Wickawack.

- Ooh, splendid.

Might I request they make my nose smaller?

- You don't like your nose?

- It's always been a bit
bulbous for my taste.

- Then a stone nose job
it'll be, consider it done.

- Thank you, King.

Now if you'll excuse me,
I have a spell to master.

- Troll Net, oh no!

(adventurous music)

- Oh, I'm okay, Cupcake.

I have a bit of indigestion today.

I think I breathed too
much fire last night.

- Yikes, sounds toasty.

- Try some milk, it cures
fire indigestion every time.

I have an idea for a new holiday

I'd like to run by some
of my non-troll friends,

I overheard King Basil talking
with that weird wizard Thorn,

they're up to no good.

- King Basil, up to no good?

That's crazy.

- Yeah, that's bonkers, Willow.

We elected our king, he works for us,

trolls, dragons, lizards, and wizards.

- Well, somebody needs
to remind him of that.

They're up in the castle
cooking up a magic spell

that's gonna bring chaos
and conflict to the kingdom.

- Chaos and conflict?

But why in the world would
our king wanna do that?

- So he can seize greater
control of the land

and everyone in it!

He's on a power trip!

- Power trip?

Like the ones we get
from the hardware store?

- No, those are power strips, Belly.

- Oh, that kinda sounds like a
yummy snack, don't you think?

- Listen, there's some time, but not much.

Thorn has to study the spell.

Apparently, it's old and nasty.

- Okay, how do you wanna handle it?

- Uh-uh, not me, how
do you wanna handle it?

- What do you mean, Willow?

Don't you wanna help the
kingdom and stop them?

- Golly, no,

I wanna go float in the Salamic Stream

up in the Catirondack Mountains.

I'm going on vacation.

- Vacation?

When the kingdom's in peril?

- It does sound like fun.

it sounds like we'll need
all the help we can get.

- I'm sorry, Leaf, I just

I don't have the stomach for fighting,

I like to laugh, and play, and nap.

thing I've ever heard.

What's Willow thinking spreading
nasty rumors like that?

- He seemed pretty sure
of what he said, Cupcake,

says one thing to the citizens,

then does the opposite
behind closed doors?

- I know it sounds crazy, but...

everything's been so nice

and everyone's been so happy

that it upsets the king?

- I know, it doesn't make sense, but...

Willow must be loopy on stream water.

- He seemed scared to me.

to someone who can really help?

Why tell the littlest trolls you can find?

- Because he's playing a joke, that's why,

and a bad one at that.

If there's one person we can
all trust, it's the king.

We elected him after all,

why in the world would he betray us?

- I don't know, I hear
that power corrupts.

- Well, it doesn't corrupt King Basil.

I think that Willow's
the untrustworthy one.

And he's running away to boot,

it sounds like he's playing a prank.

- Yeah, but, what if he's not?

(upbeat music)

- Thank you for visiting, King Basil,

it's an honor to host you.

- It's an honor to be invited, Cupcake.

Rumor has it you've got some good ideas.

- Yeah, there's all kinds
of rumors going around.

Well, I'd love to hear them.

(Cupcake clears throat)

- King Basil,

I have an idea for a
brand new kingdom holiday.

I asked around and got nothing
but kind words and support.

- Oh, I so enjoy the kindness

that permeates our kingdom, Cupcake.

The joy and smiling
faces that greet me daily

make my throne a truly
magical seat on which to sit.

Tell me, what is this holiday you propose?

- I call it Troll Friends Day.

- Troll Friends Day?

How absolutely wonderful.

- I do.

You trolls are some of the friendliest,

most gregarious creatures

I've ever had the pleasure of knowing.

And if you've cornered
adequate public support,

I'd be happy to grant
you your new holiday.

- You would?

Oh, King Basil, I'm so happy.

One of the perks of my position

is hearing so many new ideas

from so many different subjects,

and seeing so much beaming joy

when I feel the same excitement they feel.

- By golly, it's like magic, isn't it?

- Why, yes, yes, it is, Belly Rumble.

I'll tell you what,

give me some time to organize my thoughts

and develop a formal
plan for our new holiday,

then we'll meet at my castle
to finalize everything

and issue a formal announcement.

- It sounds wonderful, King,

any troll could ever ask for.

ask and you shall receive.

(adventurous music)

- I knew King Basil was
a good king, Fairypie,

that weirdo Willow is the
one who can't be trusted.

- It's mighty strange of him

to tell a tale that tall though,

Our king conspiring with an
evil wizard to destroy goodwill?

It's downright fantastical.

- Yes, it is, but Willow's
always been a bit odd.

The good thing is, we've exposed his lies,

and we're about to get a brand new holiday

commemorating the remarkable
friendships of trolls.

- Hooray!

(dramatic music)
(wind howls)

- I'll tell you, Chomps,

I've never felt so
disgusted in all my life.

It was all I could do to not
vomit right there on the spot.

- I don't blame you, King Basil,

those trolls are repugnant little things.

- Yeah, stinky too, smells
funny in that place.

Probably the dreadful
porridge they eat. (gags)

- Mm, porridge.

I've gotten my snout in a time or two,

some of it's not so bad.

- Well, if I have my way,

they'll live on a prisoner's
diet of bread and water.

- More porridge for me. (laughs)

- If you like.

Now listen, Chomps, I need your help.

- Anything, King, you just name it.

- Once Cupcake arrives for what she thinks

is the inauguration of her stupid holiday,

I'm going to imprison that little troll.

Thorn and I need a bit more time

to perfect the Troll Net spell.

Once we do,

we can effectively end friendship
throughout the kingdom.

- End friendship?

You mean that it'll be
every mouse for himself?

Dog eat dog, fly or fall, do or die?

- That's right,

no camaraderie, no neighborliness,

no sharing, no joy!

- Oh, that's, that's, that's awesome!

(King Basil laughs)

- I knew you'd see it my way, Chomps.

You should've been born a rat,

you're too good for those mice.

- I am?

Awe, King, I'm touched,

no one's ever said that to me before.

- Then I suppose no one offered you

a spot beside the throne either?

- No.

- Well, how about it?

- You mean...

- I'd like to offer you a
seat in the court, Chomps.

And just as soon as we crush friendship,

you'll have one, if you want it.

you're the kind of mouse
every king should have.

You're savage, brutal, vicious,
selfish, and conniving,

all admirable traits,

I'd be proud to have you sit beside me.

From lowly dungeon mouse
to the king's court.

To think, my pa said I'd
never amount to nothing.

- How is your pa anyway?

I haven't heard from him in quite a while.

- Still holed up in the wall, I guess.

Maybe he passed, I don't know.

- Mm, one of the unpleasant
realities of ruling a kingdom.

Speaking of which, once
we lock up Cupcake,

her ridiculous Troll Friends Day idea

will vanish along with her,

and anyone who tries
pushing for it in her wake

will suffer the same consequence.

(Chomps laughs)

- I like your style, King Basil.

- So do I, Chomps, so do I.

You stand by until Cupcake arrives.

Then, once we have her, you stand guard.

- Oh, I'll make sure she
stays locked up tight,

in as much to spare as possible.

- Excellent.

(tranquil music)

- I couldn't believe how
excited King Basil was

to create Troll Friends Day.

He was smiling from ear to ear.

He's always been so kind.

- I wonder why the
castle's so far from town?

Wouldn't you think he'd wanna
be closer to his subjects?

- He probably enjoys the peace and quiet.

Even kings need a rest once in a while.

- Well, I guess you're right.

It's getting cold, I
should've brought a coat.

- The trees are getting taller
and throwing more shade,

it's still warm in the sunshine.

- Cupcake?

- Yes, Fairypie?

- What if Willow wasn't lying?

- About King Basil?

Nonsense.

You saw for yourself, he
was so happy to see us,

and utterly overjoyed to help.

- I know, that's what I'm wondering.

Do you think he was maybe too happy?

- How can we ever be too happy, Fairy?

- When we're faking it.

I don't think there's anything
fake about King Basil.

Come on, the castle isn't far now.

(dramatic music)

- Look around us, Chomps,

what a marvelous dungeon my castle has.

I regret not using it enough.

- You got that right, King Basil.

Of all the dungeons in all the kingdoms,

I'm proud to serve in yours.

- Just you wait, Chomps,

as soon as we're free of
kindness and camaraderie,

and we've squashed the idea
of friendship celebrations,

what a truly majestic land this will be.

- I can't wait.

- Nor can I.

Once we cast the wizard Thorn's Troll Net,

we will surely go down

as the most feared and
revered kingdom in history.

(Chomps laughs)

- [Cupcake] Hi, King
Basil, we're right on time.

- Why, yes, you certainly are, Cupcake.

- Have you set a date yet for
the first Troll Friends Day?

I'd love to know when it'll be

so I can start telling all
my friends in the kingdom,

trolls or not.

- As a matter of fact,
I haven't set the date.

- And he's not gonna.

Did somebody object?

- Oh no, Cupcake, that's
Chomps the Dragon Mouse.

He's notorious for stealing food

and damaging property
throughout the countryside.

- That's right, Fairy,

and now, you can add king's
lieutenant to my list of titles.

- What's the meaning of this, King Basil?

- There's no point in continuing
this charade, Cupcake,

you and your fairy friends

may as well make yourselves comfortable,

you are going to be here a while.

- What do you mean?

What is this?

What's happening?

- They're in cahoots, Cupcake,

and they're taking us prisoner.

you can kiss your holiday goodbye,

and very soon, you can
kiss your kingdom goodbye.

Your naive idealism was oddly impressive,

- I'm afraid there's

(adventurous music)

what brings you to the
king's water tunnels?

Are you trying to steal
your way into the castle?

announcement meeting.

out of a wet, pointy hat.

(dramatic music)

- I tell you, Basil,

I nearly cast a spell that
banished the both of them

into the Pit of Partically for all time.

- I'm glad you didn't, Thorn,

I want to see every single one
of my loyal subjects' faces

when goodwill disappears

and their kingdom is plunged
into mayhem and chaos.

- As I do.

And now that you've locked up

that little friendliness shill, Cupcake,

we must act.

We've waited long enough, it's
time to cast the Troll Net.

- Excellent.

Where do we begin?

- Where it all began, King,

the first step in harnessing
the Troll Net spell

is to travel to the land that time forgot,

the frozen tundra, the
unspeakable uplands.

- You mean Jersey?

- No, not Jersey,

I'm talking about Snowland.

- Snowland?

So should we pack warm clothes?

- Yes, yes, the warmer the better.

We'll leave at dusk and
journey by cover of night.

Upon our arrival,

I shall recite the dreaded incantation

from my book of spells,

and together, King,

we shall wield the full power and fury

of the dark age's most feared evil spell,

the Troll Net!

(Thorn laughs)

- Do they sell postcards in Snowland?

- I believe so, why?

- It would be amusing to
send one home to Cupcake,

like, "Wish you were here".

(King Basil laughs)

(adventurous music)

- I wonder what that creep Thorn

was doing in the castle water tunnels?

- Seems like he knew his way around.

- Yeah, it sure did.

You think it's true, what
Willow told us about the king?

- I don't see how we could
doubt it at this point, do you?

- No.

I'm afraid our king's up to no good.

And where is Cupcake?

I haven't seen her or Fairypie in a while.

I wonder if they went to the castle?

- Probably, just like we did.

They might have walked
right in the front door

and gotten themselves into trouble.

might be able to help.

- An old friend of mine, the
famed magician Boo Boo Roo.

I never knew you were
friends with Boo Boo Roo.

being caught performing

that phony traptalarycon egg
trick out in Carlsbad Caverns?

- He had bills to pay,
little purple mouths to feed,

I don't blame him one bit.

- Hey, I'm not judging.

Do you really think he can help us?

- You got any better suggestions?

(adventurous music)

- So tell me, Belly,

how did you and Boo Boo Roo
come to be friends anyway?

- I was an apprentice
magician for two years

in his traveling sideshow
group, The Fantastical Wisps.

- Hold on, hold on,

how is it that I know you as well as I do,

but I've never heard this story?

- Eh, after the troupe got shut down,

I just kinda wanted to put
that chapter behind me.

- Why did the troupe get shut down?

- Boo Boo started reading everyone's minds

and found out that nobody
was happy with the food,

and we were hungry all the time,

so he got us off the road

and rebranded The Fantastical Wisps

as The Fantastical Crisps Toast Emporium.

We were happy for a while,

and our bellies were certainly full,

til a Trolly's moved across the way

and put us out of business.

Boo Boo lost everything.

- Wow, that's quite a story, Belly.

- Yeah, I fell out of touch with Boo Boo

by the time he started that
traptalarycon egg shtick.

He sent a carrier pigeon to
reach me a couple of times,

but he was making such bad
headlines at that point,

I avoided the whole thing.

- Good move.

- Right?

I'd be living in a cave too.

- Well, if privacy's what
he wanted, he sure got it,

get a load of these caves!

- I haven't seen Boo Boo since
the Toast Emporium closed.

I wonder if I'll even recognize him?

- Whoa!

- I'm not Boo Boo Roo, I'm a girl,

my name's Bumblestick,
friends call me Bumble.

- Love-struck, I mean Belly
