For the opening of Part Two, please welcome middle-aged idols,

Endoscope Band from "Flaming Youth"!

("Hawaii Dance", by Endoscope Band)

(SBS Variety Show Museum)

- Thank you. - Thank you!

Good job, Endoscope Band.

- They did an amazing job. - They did.

2019 SBS Entertainment Awards.

We started Part Two with a flaming performance...

by Endoscope Band.

It was a great performance.

I heard that the composer of this song, Jang Ho Il,

was really sad that he couldn't be with them today.

He was particularly worried that Kwang Kyu may make a mistake.

Members of "Flaming Youth",

did you like the performance by Endoscope Band?

- Yes! - Yes!

- Do you think they did well? - Yes!

- It was awesome! - Awesome.

- Amazing! - The mood is very positive.

- They made no mistakes. - It was perfect.

- Kwang Kyu did a good job. - He did.

The past and present of SBS entertainment shows.

2019 SBS Entertainment Awards...

is like a Variety Show Museum.

Finally, during Part Two,

the winner of the Grand Award will be finally determined.

Who will be the winner of this year's Grand Award?

- I hope you stay tuned with us. - Yes.

We'll start Part Two by presenting the first award.

- Let's begin Part Two in earnest. - Okay.

The first one is the Best Teamwork Award...

that goes to the team with harmony.

The award will be presented by So E Hyun,

the winner of the Radio DJ Award...

and Choi Sung Kook...

of "Flaming Youth".

Please come on out.

They bring back memories.

- They are cool. - They look like ballad singers.

Choi Sung Kook.

Please be cool.

I am Choi Sung Kook. It's nice to meet you.

Hello, I am So E Hyun.

Do you remember the song that played just now?

It's a big part of Sung Kook's identity.

When I was little, I almost passed out...

when I watched this scene of "Sex Is Zero".

Did you watch that movie when you were little?

I wasn't supposed to watch it.

Would you please...

You want me to sing it.

Please let us hear it.

- Would you please do that? - All right.

More than anyone in the world

I am going to stop.

I have done this for 18 years.

That movie is from 2002.

- The year of the World Cup. - It was the best. Thank you.

Today, we will present the Best Teamwork Award.

The thing is,

it's the award anyone would want.

- The Best Teamwork Award? - Yes.

You know what you are presenting, right?

The "Flaming Youth" team received the award two years ago.

That's right.

The team gets nominated for the award each year.

- The "Flaming Youth" team? - Yes.

What's the secret behind the good teamwork?

- The "Flaming Youth" team? - Yes.

It's loneliness.

You wouldn't know.

You weren't alone on Christmas Eve.

When they ring the bell on New Year's Eve,

- you won't be alone. - No.

We will be alone.

When you hang out with friends,

you go home after a while because you miss your family.

- Yes. - We don't go home.

Only a few of us do that to feed the dogs.

We are like that.

People like us...

can party like there is no tomorrow.

That's why the members are close.

There is some kind of camaraderie.

We look after each other as friends.

The "Flaming Youth" team's teamwork comes...

from loneliness.

- I shouldn't make it sound so sad. - You look good today.

It's a nice award.

The Best Teamwork Award goes to the team with friendship.

I will announce the winner.

Okay. This is fascinating.

The Best Teamwork Award...

of 2019 SBS Entertainment Awards goes to...

"Master in the House". Congratulations.

- Congratulations. - Congratulations.

"Master in the House".

For the past two years, "Master in the House"...

has shown the best teamwork...

through friendship and bromance...

between the members.

All right. The winner of the Best Teamwork Award is...

the "Master in the House" team.

The four of them get along so well.

(Best Teamwork Award)

The award will be presented.

The four of them are so handsome.

Yuk Seong Jae will take the trophy for the team.

- Thank you. - Congratulations.

The youngest member took the trophy for the team.

All right. Please say a few words.

Say a few words for the team.

Okay. I will say a few words.

It has been two years since I joined "Master in the House".

Has it been over two years?

It has been two years.

As the youngest member of SangSeungHyeongJae,

I really love the older members.

They give me a lot of strength.

I feel bad because I am not good at showing my emotions.

I've met many masters over the past two years,

but the best masters for me...

are my coworkers,

Seung Gi, Se Hyeong, and Sang Yun.

Thank you.

Director Choi Young In, thank you so much.

Thank you.

All right.

Also,

thank you for the Best Teamwork Award.

I have good news.

Starting from next year, another member...

will join the show.

Please watch the show.

He clicked with everyone from the start.

Next year, you will be able to see the new SangSeungHyeongJae...

and better teamwork.

- Thank you. - Thank you.

We will look forward to it.

- It was big news. - Yes.

He said we will see the new SangSeungHyeongJae.

I wonder if this member has Shin or "New" in his name.

No way.

Is it a stretch? How about Shin Dong Yeob?

Shin Dong Yeob?

- It can't be, right? - It can't be.

In any case, they have good teamwork.

A member would have left had there been no teamwork.

They got another member since they have good teamwork.

- There was an addition. - Yes.

The "Baek Jong Won's Alley Restaurants" team...

wanted this award.

You look a bit disappointed.

There are only three of us on the show.

We built teamwork through get-togethers.

I heard you used a lot of money for get-togethers.

Mr. Baek, we should have gotten this award, right?

- Please use the microphone. - It's right in front of you.

I know. I wanted this award.

- I know. - Don't we have good teamwork?

Seriously. It was the only award we could have won as a team.

- I wanted this award. - You look upset.

- Maybe next year... - I am a bit annoyed.

I see.

We should have get-togethers more often.

We have get-togethers diligently.

Do they have get-togethers more often than we do?

It seems like the "Master in the House" team does.

- They have good teamwork. - We should gather more often.

I am sure there were good reasons.

- Let's strive to win it next year. - Let's do that.

The "Baek Jong Won's Alley Restaurants" team...

- should strengthen their teamwork. - Okay.

Let's move on to the next award.

It's a new award that has been added this year.

The star who made waves on social media will receive...

the Social Media Star Award.

Yes. You can learn about the public the fastest...

through social media these days.

- That's right. - That's right.

That's why social media is important for variety shows as well.

Let's find out who the winners are.

The award will be presented by the best artist...

who is the talk of the town on social media, Chungha...

and the actor, Yoon Sang Hyun.

Please come on out.

All right.

Yoon Sang Hyun looks handsome.

He is lip-syncing as he enters.

I thought he was singing for real.

Hello, I am Yoon Sang Hyun.

(Yoon Sang Hyun, Chungha)

Hello, I am Chungha.

You sang the song yourself, right?

- Yes. - I see.

This year, you became the national husband figure...

through "Same Life, Unlike Dreams".

Everything you and your wife did made the news.

I watched a video of you crying.

When you get older,

you will find reasons to cry.

Chungha, your song, "Gotta Go", has been streamed...

more than 100 million times.

- Yes. - This year has been...

your year.

Now that we are on the topic,

would you show us the dance...

- of "Gotta Go"? - Sure.

- Music, please. - Music, please.

She doesn't disappoint. She is the dancing queen.

All right.

Thank you.

- You are the dancing queen. - Thank you.

- I am a big fan. - Thank you.

My kids always dance to your songs.

All right.

You should remember...

Chungha's dance I like.

It will come in handy at 12am.

Please look forward to the performance that I will give.

(Social Media Star Award)

Yes, congratulations.

Yes, let's listen to everyone's acceptance speech one at a time.

Who will go first?

Will we start with Kangnam?

We will start with Lee Kwang Soo first.

1, 2, 3.

- Lee Kwang Soo isn't a fool! - Lee Kwang Soo isn't a fool!

"Lee Kwang Soo isn't a fool"?

Yes, I'm not a fool.

I would like to thank the Lord.

I don't deserve this.

(Social Media Star Award, Lee Kwang Soo)

They took care of me like family by my side...

and made me who I am.

Seok Jin, Jae Seok, Jong Kook,

Ji Hyo, Haha, Se Chan, and So Min...

I would like to say thank you and I love you.

I would like to give all of this glory to Director Choi Young In.

I would like to sincerely thank you one more time. Thank you.

I also love the staff. Thank you.

- Lee Kwang Soo, congratulations. - Yes.

Let's listen to Park Na Rae's acceptance speech.

Her dress is a little long this time.

Yes, I didn't expect to receive this award.

Thank you so much for giving it to me.

Honestly, I went through a lot of trouble while doing "Little Forest".

I was upset because I couldn't be with Lee Seo Jin...

and So Min today.

It was nice to see Seung Gi.

Oh, my. We went through a lot of trouble under the burning sun.

I'm so happy because I left countless memes.

I will also make a lot of memes next year.

Director Choi Young In, I love you.

Yes, congratulations.

Congratulations. Yuk Seong Jae?

Hello, I'm Yuk Seong Jae.

I didn't know that I would receive an award by myself.

Thank you so much for always taking care of me.

I didn't do anything.

I just followed Seung Gi, Se Hyeong, and Sang Yun...

to do my best enjoying.

I think I could receive this award because the staff of...

"Master in the House" edited the show so amazingly.

Director Choi Young In and...

Producer Lee Se Young, Writer Ji Sook,

and Writer So Young, who always works so hard by my side,

thank you so much. Thank you.

Yes, Kangnam is last.

Yes, hello, I'm Kangnam.

I think I achieved a lot of things this year.

I got my other half in life.

It feels like I grew a sense of responsibility.

It also feels like my life is developing.

I'm so happy. I'm trying to do my best in life.

I will try hard so I will also be shining next year.

Thank you. I am Kangnam.

- Yes, congratulations. - Yes.

Kangnam and Lee Sang Hwa couple, Yuk Seong Jae,

Park Na Rae, and Lee Kwang Soo.

They're the winners of the Social Media Star Award.

- Park Na Rae, come quickly. - Yes.

- Congratulations. - Congratulations.

Okay, this is 2019 SBS Entertainment Awards.

Are you okay?

- We will keep going on. - Yes.

I will move a little to Park Na Rae's spot.

It will make me taller.

I wanted this picture.

- Yes, it's nice. - Yes.

Okay, it's finally time to reveal the nominees of the Grand Award.

- You went up a lot. - Yes.

- The air is different up there. - Yes.

They made a foothold for me.

Yes, we are with the glorious Social Media Star Award winner,

- Park Na Rae. - Thank you.

We will reveal the nominees of the Grand Award.

Who will be the winner of the Grand Award...

of 2019 SBS Entertainment Awards?

We will announce the nominees.

We will announce them in a special way this time.

- Yes. - Jo Jung Sik,

what movie impressed you the most this year?

There were a lot of good movies.

- Yes. - But there was a...

- happy occasion for Korean movies. - There was.

"Parasite", that won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival...

- was the most memorable for me. - "Parasite". That's right.

That's why we parodied "Parasite",

that caused a great syndrome,

and made a very special video.

- Okay. - The nominees will be revealed,

so please concentrate on watching it.

We will reveal it!

(2019 SBS Entertainment Awards, "Grand Award Parasite")

(2019 SBS Entertainment Awards, "Grand Award Parasite")

(The Grand Award nominees all have a plan.)

(2019 SBS Entertainment Award, Grand Award Nominee, Shin Dong Yeob)

We will actually blur out your eyes...

to protect your identity.

We're also disguising your voice.

You need to disguise my hair.

If you do computer graphics like this...

Yes, your hair...

He's famous for treating the staff to get-togethers.

If you feed people, they will all say good things.

It was all planned.

I heard that he almost doesn't go home in December.

To prepare for the end of the year, he does this to get votes.

This actually should be charged.

He's actually a very meticulous person.

And he's very smart.

If you take a look at Shin Dong Yeob's programs,

there aren't any programs outdoors.

This is 100 percent his plan.

It's a big picture.

If you make an offer to him to do "Running Man",

he will bring treadmills inside the studio.

That's what he does. He will talk while running.

Going outdoors isn't in his plan at all.

I wish you would capture that as a point.

He says, "The Grand Award? It's okay."

But whenever he's nervous and anxious,

he does self-acupressure to his hand like this.

If he does this, it means that he's trembling.

So when the Grand Award is announced,

you can frankly tell how greedy he is for it...

from how much he does this with the ends of his fingers.

(Is it his meticulous plan to only insist on indoor shootings?)

Can you guess who will win the Grand Award?

I think it will be Baek Jong Won.

(2019 SBS Entertainment Award, Grand Award Nominee, Baek Jong Won)

If the producers come to him...

and tell him that he should accept the Grand Award,

he would wave dismissively.

He keeps saying that this field isn't his main business,

and he is causing damage to other people.

(Hesitating)

I think he can say that after he receives the award.

I think it's a little too forward to wave dismissively...

when he's just a nominee.

(Laughing)

(Is this Baek Jong Won's meticulous plan towards the Grand Award?)

Starting from "Baek Jong-won's Top 3 Chef King",

he slowly prepared his portfolio for the Grand Award.

Since he couldn't receive it with "Baek Jong-won's Top 3 Chef King",

he made an offer to me to do "Baek Jong-won's Food Truck".

Since "Baek Jong-won's Food Truck" didn't receive a lot of attention,

he suddenly asked me to wander around alleys with me.

After 10 something years of SBS variety shows,

it became the strongest of Wednesday variety shows.

He thought that this much will make him win the Grand Award.

But he couldn't,

so he made another plan.

He made an offer to do "Baek Jong-won's Mystery Kitchen".

It didn't receive a lot of attention.

Baek Jong Won gets rid of me drastically.

He thought he wouldn't win with me.

That's why he's working with the new trend of variety shows,

Kim Hee Chul, Yang Se Hyeong, and even Kim Dong Jun.

With those people behind his back,

he launches a program called, "Delicious Rendezvous".

It was a huge success.

He's really meticulous.

I believe the skate and rice wine restaurant of Pobangteo Market...

contributed the most to make him who he was last year.

I think I'm the one who made him who he is this year.

I think I played a big role as a kingmaker.

It's too embarrassing for me to win the Grand Award right now.

(Oh, my.)

Are you aiming for next year's Grand Award?

After this is aired, I will check how people think.

If it's too early,

I will actively make someone else next year.

Be nice to me.

(2019 SBS Entertainment Award, Grand Award Nominee, Yu Jae Seok)

He's the number one celebrity that Korea loves.

It will be strange if he isn't nominated.

- It will be strange. - Something strange will go on.

I think he should be recorded in the Korean dictionary.

If you look in the dictionary for "Yu Jae Seok",

it will say "sincerity, a hard-working genius,"

"patronizing..."

- Patronizing? - Yes.

- Yes, he's kind of patronizing. - Yes.

He's patronizing from the moment he gets out of his car in the morning.

From the moment he folds his newspaper and gets out.

- I was going to say that. - You know it, right?

I can't say how suffocating he is.

Whenever we leave to shoot abroad,

he always takes various newspapers with him, right?

I wonder whether he really reads all of those newspapers...

or is he just taking them for show.

- I wonder whether it's artificial. - Yes.

I actually saw him hold a newspaper upside down.

I think that's also a way for him to make his image.

We sometimes respond to his words as if he were our boss.

- That's right. - You know...

- what I mean, right? - That is the case sometimes.

Se Chan, you too? Gosh, I'm sorry.

Hold on a second. Our identities are a secret.

- I'm sorry about that. - Please edit that out.

So you felt that too.

What if Jae Seok threw about a light joke?

Will you be okay with the eloquent members gone?

(Laughing hysterically)

- My gosh. - "You're the best!"

(He makes sure that they respond automatically.)

"Jae Seok, you're killing us."

- "Mr. Funny." - "Mischievous Jae Seok."

Remember what we said recently?

Jae Seok looks much younger now...

than he did in the past.

He's like Benjamin Button.

He tries to be trendy.

He's getting older but he's looking younger.

And he tries to be trendy.

That's also...

You're right. It can be part of his plan.

You're watching 2019 SBS Entertainment Awards.

The nominees of the Grand Award all have plans.

I'm here to talk to the first nominee.

Jae Seok, could you please stand up?

- This way. - Sure.

Shocking statements were made about you.

Right.

You don't seem like the type,

but they say you're patronizing.

Could we hear how you feel about that?

I am patronizing.

- You admit it? - I do.

As you all heard, a few of my colleagues...

told the viewers about me,

but I also know their weaknesses.

It'll be a mess if I speak up,

- but I won't. - You're a generous man.

Today's a big night,

- so I'll keep my mouth shut. - Right.

Today is truly an important day.

What about the newspaper though?

Why do you take all of them when getting on a plane?

The flight attendants would give me them,

but I guess I take some for show.

- You're not hiding tonight. - Not at all.

That's great.

You are a front-runner in today's race.

My research tells me that you won the Grand Award...

14 times over all 3 major TV networks.

You still hold the record of having the most of them.

- I see. - That's you, Yu Jae Seok.

Meanwhile, in terms of the SBS Entertainment Awards,

you have won four Grand Awards.

- I see. - The most recent one was in 2015.

Isn't it about time you won another one?

- 2015 was a while ago. - That's true.

- It's been a while. - Then I guess it's time.

I see.

Right.

- You have an ambitious goal today. - Yes.

- And you're not hiding it. - No.

You'll happily accept the Grand Award if you win it?

I should if I'm given one.

All right.

- That was Yu Jae Seok. - Thank you.

- Thanks. - He seems ambitious today.

He'll happily accept the award if he's given it,

and he also thinks it's about time he won one again.

Let's hear from another nominee.

He's another front-runner for the Grand Award...

this year. Could you please stand?

This is Baek Jong Won. It's good to see you.

Hello.

All right then.

Someone covered his eyes and talked about you...

on the screen just now.

I honestly don't know who it was.

I doubt it's someone I'm close to.

But the questions were asked to those...

closest to you.

I'm sorry, but they're not.

I haven't seen them before.

- Really? - Yes.

- But they're close to you. - They're not.

- Is that so? - I know my friends.

They'd never say that about me.

Constantly, you've been...

Are those on the screen just now those close to you?

- No. - It's not them?

They're just wearing similar clothes.

Hee Chul would never say that.

Hee Chul would never?

He wouldn't say that because we get together for drinks a lot.

Just like last year, you've been nominated...

for the Grand Award.

Rumor has it that you've been...

refusing to accept it though.

So is that true?

Hold on a second.

You must be honest with me.

You're a Grand Award nominee.

Not everyone gets chosen for that.

I truly mean it when I say...

that I'm honored and grateful to be nominated.

That's not...

what you said at our team dinner last night.

Your children are watching this show today,

so you wanted to make them proud.

When did I say that?

We have breaking news.

Your children are still up even though it's late.

Right, and your wife...

isn't trying very hard to get them in bed.

Kids, go to bed.

- Can they sleep? - Yes, it's not happening.

- You're not hungry for the title? - No.

- Is that so? - Yes.

- But you should be. - Gosh, no.

I'll say this once again.

The Entertainment Awards is for entertainers...

- who have worked hard all year. - Right.

I know many detest me for saying this,

but I'm not a TV entertainer.

- I mean it. - What's your job then?

What was that?

- Aren't you an entertainer? - I'm not.

- You're not? - No.

Those who aren't entertainers...

have been winning awards though.

Still, the awards should go to...

the entertainers that worked hard all year.

I'm having a blast just participating in this event.

Many have been asking why I attend these events then,

but it's entertaining to watch in person.

- You're here to watch the show? - Yes.

- The Entertainment Awards? - Yes.

My wife asks me why I keep attending it,

but it's fun to be here.

Is that the reason you've been laughing all night?

Yes, it's hilarious.

I'll ask you point-blank then.

- Will you accept the award? - No.

- You won't take it? - No.

Who do you think should win then?

How can I honestly answer that?

He has gotten slightly angry with me.

I can tell, so this is where I'll wrap up the interview.

Grand Award nominee Baek Jong Won.

Those on the screen were a little weird.

We hope you'll receive great news.

I'll now head over to talk to one more person.

He's also a front-runner in this race.

Here's the nominee.

Dong Yeob, could you please stand up?

- Please stand next to me. - Sure.

- You see... - Yes?

You called me a front-runner, but it didn't feel genuine at all.

I understand your position, but still.

Just calling you a nominee would've been too short.

Adding that helped me talk all the way over here.

I checked the record coming over here,

but you haven't been lucky with Grand Awards...

- which is surprising. - That's right.

As we watched a video earlier on,

next year marks the 30th year of SBS.

However, you've only...

won the Grand Award once.

That's right. I started my career on SBS,

but I've only won the Grand Award once.

I guess I believe there's a reason for that.

Actually, I've been a host of this award show...

more than I've won an award on it.

So I've witnessed many ceremonies...

and watch them take home awards for many years,

which is why I know who'll win the Grand Award today.

I've been in the industry for 30 years now,

but never have I been certain about not winning the Grand Award...

as I am right now.

I couldn't be more surprised.

I'm almost certain of it.

- You don't think you'll win? - No.

Some years, I thought I had...

a 5 or 10 percent, maybe even a 40 percent chance.

However, I'm certain that I won't win this year.

I truly am.

It's about time you won the Grand Award though.

- Not at all. - No?

I'll collect myself once again...

and work hard to truly be a contender in the next few years.

- It's a no for me this year. - I see.

So the hand gesture...

- only means that you're nervous. - That's right.

It's absurd, but what if I do win?

Someone could be trying to bury me, right?

The thought of that made me nervous.

So winning the award...

- would be a burden for you. - That's right.

- It shouldn't be yours. - No.

You don't intend on winning it either.

- I'd rather have a quiet year. - I see.

What if you're given the award though?

- If I'm given it? - Yes.

For the first time in history,

I'll throw the award on the ground...

and trample on it.

That's how much you don't want it?

People will swear at me but it'll get us good ratings.

- Right. - Right.

Strongly claiming his nonacceptance...

is Shin Dong Yeob.

Just so you know,

and this person...

might be someone you already interviewed...

or someone you'll be interviewing later,

but that certain someone could be worried about...

what he should do if he's given the award...

because he refused to accept it too.

- Really? - That person...

- must have a headache. - I see.

You're known to have a good hunch,

so who you guess mostly ends up winning the Grand Award.

Will it be the same this year,

or will you win it against all odds?

Having a long career...

has taught me of the type to truly look out for.

There are some who the viewers know as entertainers,

but strongly insist that they're not.

- You should be aware of them. - You should be aware of them.

An entertainer who's an athlete, an entertainer who's a cook,

an entertainer who's a painter... Beware of them all.

Look out for entertainers who are musicians too.

They're all TV entertainers, right?

You're saying that many win awards...

even though they claim not to be entertainers.

- That's right. - I see.

I guess it's safe to say...

that we all know who you think is the front-runner.

Not a TV entertainer? As if.

Anyway...

All right then. This was Grand Award nominee Shin Dong Yeob.

Thank you.

- Back to you, guys. - Sure.

Thank you for the interview with the nominees.

- It was hilarious. - I got goosebumps.

They all said that they weren't interested in the award,

but that's not how they truly felt.

Personally, I'd like to see Dong Yeob win the Grand Award...

- and throw the trophy. - And stomp on it.

- I'd love to see that. - Right.

It'll definitely go down in history.

We still have interviews from friends...

of the other Grand Award nominees...

and we'll hear from the other nominees shortly as well.

- Then... - We shall now continue with...

the Excellent Show Award.

This award will be divided into the Award for Reality Shows...

and the Award for Variety Shows.

The award will be presented by the duumvirate of SBS's variety shows.

It's the Yang Se Brothers; Yang Se Chan and Yang Se Hyeong.

Yang Se Brothers!

They are brimming with energy as they appear on stage.

They look excited.

I think they planned to do that dance together. My goodness!

They even show that move here.

They are so talented.

It looks like they trained together.

Hello. I am Yangse Bari, Yang Se Hyeong.

And I am Yangse Chani, Yang Se Chan.

- Nice to meet you. - We are the Yang Se Brothers!

- Se Chan. - We managed to sync our moves.

You look handsome today.

You are very elegant today.

Okay. Let's follow our script now.

All right.

This year's concept is SBS Variety Show Museum.

Just now, they showed a video from "People Who Find Laughter".

That must have reminded you of old memories.

Since there are not many comedy shows these days,

it does make me feel sad.

From what I remember, you played an important role on that show too.

Yes. At that time, I was in the skit known as "Woongi's Father"...

and I played the role of Wangnooni.

Can you please reenact...

your famous phrase from that skit while looking at So Min?

Yes. That's easy to do.

Come here, So Min! Right now!

- Bravo! - Yes.

That was it.

- That was great. - That's enough, isn't it?

- Yes, it is. - Let's present the award.

The award that we will be presenting...

is the Excellent Show Award.

There are a lot of amazing shows,

and I look forward to seeing which show will win this award.

I will announce the winner right now.

There are Kim Sook, Kim Gu Ra, and Seo Jang Hoon.

Thank you. I am receiving this award on behalf of this show's cast.

As all of you are aware of,

this is the program that shows the beautiful lives of couples.

You have worked very hard for this show.

I am accepting this reward on couples' behalf.

Both the cast and the staff worked hard for this show.

Please say a few words.

I've been working on this show for two years.

I'd like to thank all the staff who worked hard for the past two years.

We will work even harder from now on. Thank you.

Congratulations, Producer Kim Dong Wook.

"Same Life, Unlike Dreams"...

won the Excellent Show Award.

We will now continue with the Award for Variety Shows.

Please announce the winner of...

Excellent Show Award for Variety Shows.

Yes, I'll announce it right now.

The Excellent Show Award for Variety Shows ...

of 2019 SBS Entertainment Awards goes to...

"Flaming Youth"! Congratulations!

- "Flaming Youth"! - Congratulations!

Congratulations!

This show exhibits the cast's burning passion that never dies,

and had a successful fifth year anniversary concert.

This is the representative show airing on Tuesdays that receive...

love and support from their viewers for every episode.

Their fifth-anniversary concert was also amazing.

- It was great, wasn't it? - Yes, it was.

They showcased the nostalgic moments that their viewers missed.

That's right. This is the Excellent Show Award.

The cast ia very close to one another.

- They look great together. - They have strong friendships.

They also have the most members of the cast present today.

They have a great attendance rate.

All of them are now on stage.

The winner of the Excellent Show Award for Variety Shows is won by...

"Flaming Youth".

We need another person to accept this award.

Choi Jae Hoon received the trophy.

- Yes. - Congratulations.

Congratulations.

Kim Kwang Kyu received one too.

Please share with us how you feel about receiving this award.

Let's listen to their speech.

Thank you.

To those who love this show from all around the world,

and the fishermen who went through a lot and kept working...

despite the cold wind, thank you very much.

I'd like to thank all the viewers who told me...

that they enjoyed watching "Flaming Youth"...

when we occasionally bump into each other.

To all our staff.

I would like the producer to say a few words on behalf of the staff.

This is Producer Lee Seung Hoon.

Hello.

I am Lee Seung Hoon, the producer in charge of "Flaming Youth",

which is the most popular show on Tuesday.

This is our fifth time being part of the award ceremony.

I had no idea that we will win this amazing award.

Also, I...

Can I talk a bit longer since we might not win this award again?

I started this program at the age of 35.

5 years have passed by and soon I will turn 40.

You need to be over 40 to be the cast of this show.

The fact that a long time has passed with this show is unbelievable.

When I think about it again, it is impossible to continue...

this program for five years alone.

I believe that this is only possible...

because I had a lot of staff and colleagues around me.

To all the producers working with me. To Kim Min, Hwa Jung,

Hyung Joo, Jung Chan, and Seung Yeon.

I will mention a lot of names.

I want to thank producer Kwon Ha Dong...

and producer Noh Ji Ho along with the production team.

We faced a major crisis last year.

I would also like to thank...

the writers who helped us overcome that crisis.

They are Jang Jung Hee and Choi Ju Hee.

"Flaming Youth" is aired on Tuesdays.

So I have always been working over the weekends.

So my son always asked me where I went over the weekends.

That's what he said.

I would also like to thank my wife, Yu Ri, and my son, Young Jae,

who always waited and supported me.

I've been shown signals to wrap up. I'll just say this to end my speech.

We are like family since we've been together for five years.

Our team is now facing a sad event.

One of our members just lost his father.

I'd like to dedicate this award to Lee Jae Young who is grieving.

Thank you.

- Yes. Producer Lee Seung Hoon... - Thank you!

has given a speech of gratitude on behalf of his team.

The Excellent Show Awards for Variety Shows...

- is won by "Flaming Youth". - Yes.

This year's variety shows on SBS are amazing.

That's right. I will now read a fun fact for you.

SBS viewers' ratings over the weekdays and weekends...

that were shown during the prime time...

reached the top of the charts in terms of the 2049 viewers' ratings.

It proves that SBS is unmatched by others.

Please give SBS a round of applause.

It means that viewers watch SBS all week long...

- as there are many great shows. - That's right.

The next award is the Top Excellent Show Award.

I look forward to seeing which show would win this award...

among these amazing shows.

- Yes. - That's right.

I will now introduce the award presenters.

This award will be presented by Song Ji Hyo of "Running Man"...

and Lee Tae Gon, the fishing king of "Law of the Jungle".

Please welcome them with a round of applause.

Welcome!

This is a song for Lee Tae Gon.

She just cast her fishing line. Did she catch a big fish?

Hello. I'm Song Ji Hyo.

Hello. I'm Lee Tae Gon.

On "Law of the Jungle",

you caught a big fish that was 1m 20cm long.

- Yes, I did. - Do share what you felt back then.

It took me 15 minutes to be able to pull that fish out of the water.

That was the top five biggest fish I have caught in my life.

Seeing a fish as big as that makes me feel like my heart would explode.

I think that emotion is the reason I continue fishing.

Just hearing you talk makes me feel thrilled.

I believe that the team which will win this award...

is also as thrilling as that moment.

We will now announce the winner.

I will now announce the winner.

The Top Excellent Show Award...

of 2019 SBS Entertainment Awards goes to...

"Baek Jong Won's Alley Restaurants". Congratulations!

It's "Baek Jong Won's Alley Restaurants"!

- Congratulations, Seong Ju. - SBS Entertainment Awards,

Top Excellent Show Award.

It's "Baek Jong Won's Alley Restaurants".

You should join them at the center of the stage too.

Yes, I will. I will be back.

Congratulations!

This show brings life to the alleys which have turned quiet by...

spreading the news of places to eat and creating a positive influence.

This show has been a big hit and is loved by many.

- That's right. - Thank you.

This show draws lots of attention and has high viewers' ratings too.

- Yes, it does. - Yes.

Baek Jong Won is accepting the award on the team's behalf.

No. You go ahead.

- Thank you. - Congratulations.

Thank you.

Hello, I am the producer of "Baek Jong Won's Alley Restaurants".

My name is Jung Woo Jin.

("Baek Jong Won's Alley Restaurants" producer, Jeong Woo Jin)

I'd like to begin by thanking all viewers...

who love and care for this show.

And this generation's mentor, Baek Jong Won.

I respect and love him...

not just as a producer but I feel that way personally too.

Thank you very much.

To Kim Seong Ju whom I think of as Korea's best host...

and Jung In Sun who believes that your sincerity will always...

be felt by others, thank you very much.

I am here to receive this award on behalf of my team.

This award is not just for me.

I believe that it is meant for the whole production team.

The writers who think that nobody suffers to produce a food show...

from Han Bo Kyung, Lee Hye Min,

Lee Min Jung, Kim Min Ji, and not forgetting...

the youngest writer, Kim Ji Woo, thank you very much.

To the directing team who stay up all night...

and work hard to edit the show,

yet never stop laughing, producer Park So Yeon,

producer Ahn Jung Hyun,

And also our youngest producer, So Young, thank you very much.

A lot of production staff worked very hard...

in order to create this show.

This not only involves cameramen, lighting directors,

and editors...

but also includes logistic managers and bodyguards.

I think this program turned out well since all of us worked together...

to achieve a single goal.

It's been two years since this show has started airing.

We will soon reach our 100th episode.

We will continue making a show that can help out owners...

who run restaurants located in alleys.

Thank you.

- Congratulations. - Congratulations.

Jong Won, please say a few words.

- Baek Jong Won, not an entertainer. - Yes.

(Top Excellent Show Award)

Thank you very much.

I believe we won this award as a lot of people supported...

and worked hard to produce this show.

As what's expected of us,

we will work harder to build our teamwork...

and put in more effort to assist those who need our help.

Thank you.

(SBS Variety Show Museum)

(2019 SBS Entertainment Awards, "Grand Award Parasite")

(2019 SBS Entertainment Awards, "Grand Award Parasite")

(The nominees of the Grand Award all have plans.)

(2019 SBS Grand Award nominee, Kim Gu Ra)

We will definitely go anonymous.

Please do that.

I'll mention dangerous things only if it's anonymous.

So please cover my face.

I honestly think that he isn't someone who would harass,

be malicious or even threatening to others.

But once he starts filming,

he would start harassing others non-stop...

as if someone would hit him if he doesn't do that.

I saw that happening during today's recording.

I passed by and glanced at him,

and he was practicing on how to thrust his finger.

I saw him practicing how to say vicious remarks...

and make spiteful facial expressions in front of the mirror.

He has been practicing...

for the past 20 years to win the Grand Award...

through his vicious image.

His viciousness comes from rigorous training.

That was what I have witnessed.

(He even practiced to point fingers at others like this?)

Be careful.

He is actually a gentle person.

But SBS turned him into this kind of person.

Initially, we were hired through open recruitment.

But since we weren't given jobs for a couple of years,

Gu Ra ended up going to the internet shows to criticize others.

He had no choice since he had to survive.

We were poor.

So we took the subway to get to the broadcasting station.

Those days, the wardrobe department rarely lend us any clothes.

So if we were told to bring formal suit,

we would have to carry suits covered in plastic bags from the laundry...

onto the subway and get off at Daebang Station.

If we need a hanbok, we would have to carry it on the subway.

At that time, Shin Dong Yeob...

traveled everywhere in a nice car.

It was a great car with wide backseats.

We did ride with him several times.

Did you know this about Shin Dong Yeob?

He was hired through special recruitment.

Gu Ra has never won the Grand Award from SBS, has he?

Just look at that!

Now, the time has come for Gu Ra who's from SBS...

to be the one who wins the Grand Award.

His life is all about planning. His birth was also premeditated.

Baek Jong Won and Seo Jang Hoon were initially...

people who are not related to the broadcasting field.

So my father was confused...

Did I just call him "father"? No. He is not my father.

It was just a slip of the tongue. He's not my father. What's with me?

I met GREE who is Kim Gu Ra's son.

This was what he told me not long ago.

He said that he felt as if he was used by his father.

He said that he didn't own anything right now.

He's been thinking that his father has been using him.

(2019 SBS Grand Award nominee, Kim Byung Man)

Even if he is only given a role in a small skit,

he'd practice more than 100 times. Since he practiced countless times,

his performance would be perfect. That's the kind of person he is.

He learned how to fly an airplane...

in order to make sure that the Grand Award becomes his.

He is the first celebrity...

who learned to fly a plane.

(He becomes a certified pilot in order to win the Grand Award?)

You'll look as if you're qualified for it if you have certificates.

That's his simple reasoning.

("Grand Award Parasite")

(Who will win the Grand Award this year?)

All of the nominees are qualified to win the award.

This includes Yu Jae Seok...

who has never changed...

ever since his bachelor days. Not forgetting Shin Dong Yeob too.

It's hard to say that "My Little Old Boy"...

is a show made famous by Dong Yeob.

A lot of people contributed to that.

Therefore, he's disqualified.

Next is Gu Ra from "Same Life, Unlike Dreams".

He's only in the studio and never goes outdoors.

So he's disqualified too.

Seo Jang Hoon is disqualified for no reason.

For me, it's still Yu Jae Seok.

Who else is there?

Baek Jong Won?

This is a difficult one.

I can't tell. I think SBS is doing great this year.

(2019 SBS Grand Award nominee, Kim Jong Kook)

Jong Kook has been nominated for the Grand Award for the first time.

- My goodness. - What are your thoughts on this?

(They act humble as they congratulate him!)

He might find out who we are.

- Shall we exchange our spots? - Yes.

He might think that we are someone else.

But this area is a bit slanted.

Shall we try to give him fake hints?

Okay. This is good enough.

This is perfect.

Initially, he has been living in Anyang for 43 years.

- That's right. - But after...

he was cast to join a famous show, "My Little Old Boy",

he wanted to shake the industry.

He even dresses up excessively.

Personally, I was upset when I saw his beggar costume.

Why so?

Honestly, we don't get to see him dress up like that...

- on our show that often. - That's right.

(This is the problematic beggar costume)

I told you I won't dress up like this on "Running Man".

This is how I felt when I watched that episode.

"You won't give me the Grand Award even after all this?"

"You're still not going to give it to me?"

- That's right. - That's how I felt.

He usually doesn't dress like a beggar.

He would never do it.

But when I see how fast he grabbed for the food,

I wondered, "What's with him? He would even go this far?"

That's the kind of suspicion which I have against him.

He'd aim for the Grand Award next year if he doesn't get it this year.

So I think he would suddenly get married to someone.

Then he'd be on "Same Life, Unlike Dreams".

What if he doesn't get it next year?

Then he'll join "Flaming Youth". I'm sorry.

(I'm sorry.)

("Flaming Youth")

The Grand Award for 2019 SBS Entertainment Awards.

The nominees of the Grand Award all have plans.

Let's meet with one of the nominees, Kim Jong Kook.

Yes.

It is your first time to be nominated for the Grand Award.

- Yes, I... - Yes.

This is such a special year for you.

I have been on variety shows since 2004 through "X-Men".

Finally, I am nominated for the Grand Award this year.

You feel like it's too late for you to be nominated...

and too late for you to receive the Grand Award.

Well, I...

- Even if it's late... - It's very late, isn't it?

It's better to win it later than not winning it at all.

- Yes, that's right. - Yes.

I think the people who were interviewed for your nomination...

look similar to those who interviewed for Yu Jae Seok.

- They look similar. - They do, don't they?

- They seem to be timid. - Yes.

Do you think you know who they are?

- I am not sure who they are. - You're not?

I think the tall one might be Han Ki Beom.

- Han Ki Beom? - Yes.

I have never done anything to intimidate him though.

- I see. - So I don't know if it's him.

- They mentioned the beggar costume. - Just one moment.

- Can you please stand up? - Why?

- He looks similar to that person. - It's him!

- It's him? - Yes, it's him.

- It's not him? - Just one moment. No, It isn't him.

- About the beggar costume... - Yes.

They mentioned that everything was part of your plan.

"Running Man", "My Little Old Boy",

and next, the beggar costume.

They believe that's your plan to win the Grand Award.

Well.

- I am not eyeing the award. - I see.

Somehow, I ended up being on two shows that air over the weekend.

If I don't get the award, I should join "Flaming Youth" too.

- You'll join "Flaming Youth" too? - Yes.

You should be on a show airing on Tuesday too.

They'd give me the award if I am on three shows, won't they?

If you don't get the award, you'd join "Flaming Youth".

All of those are shows filmed outdoors.

Kim Jong Kook will be joining "Flaming Youth".

"Flaming Youth".

I think I can win the Grand Award if I join three shows outdoors.

The one in glasses said that you might get married next year...

if you are not awarded the Grand Award this year.

- He did, didn't he? - Is it possible that might happen?

If I get married,

I'd leave "My Little Old Boy"...

and join "Same Life, Unlike Dreams" instead.

If that's the case, I can only join two shows.

- That's only two shows. - So if I aim to join three shows,

- I have to join "Flaming Youth". - "Flaming Youth".

You aim to become a cast for "Flaming Youth".

He'll join "Flaming Youth" if he doesn't win the Grand Award.

- That is your big picture. - I have to join three shows.

But you'd prefer to win the award this year.

If I fail to win the Grand Award after joining three shows,

the next show I aim for is "Baek Jong Won's Alley Restaurants".

- "Alley Restaurants". - I'm going to learn to cook.

All right.

The viewers have confirmed how much you want it.

This was the Grand Award nominee, Kim Jong Kook.

- Thank you. - Yes.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Next, we're going to meet this person.

Please stand up for a moment.

Here is the cream of the crop of SBS comedians,

Kim Gu Ra.

Honestly, I'm having a hard time...

accepting my nomination for the Grand Award,

so I'm worried about whether viewers will accept it.

Why? Many people are cheering for you.

You know.

So honestly,

I think the broadcasting company chose eight people...

just to complete the set.

- The set? - Yes.

I think you deserve it.

No, I don't mean it like that.

Everybody knows how it is.

I'm very happy these days,

but I'm a little different...

from when I was younger.

I just can't fake it anymore.

Even before,

I accepted the Excellence Show Award on behalf of the team.

But that's not something I should have received myself.

It's the couples and the staff...

that work hard on that show.

So for me to be the one to accept it,

though I am working hard in the studio.

I've been full of complicated thoughts for two and a half hours.

I see.

Wondering if you should have accepted it.

I've constantly had my hands...

on my coat and scarf.

- Why is that? - So I can leave early.

- I'm just joking. - I see.

Anyway, just being here...

is an honor.

Just getting to sit here isn't an easy thing to do.

- I see. - So...

You usually have great intuition.

But this is what I think.

For all the people here... I won't name any names,

but I think the Entertainment Awards need to be more selective.

More selective?

Even in the case of KBS, they didn't get very high...

- viewers' ratings. - Their Entertainment Awards?

Because there are so many programs,

programs that have gone on for 5 or 10 years,

it seems like people are just taking turns getting awards.

As I look at it,

they have to get rid of the people who don't deserve it, like me.

Make it fair.

Nominate people like Baek Jong Won, Yu Jae Seok,

and Dong Yeob, but that should be it.

Just have three.

That's what will make it exciting.

Why am I sitting here? Seo Jang Hoon, too.

Jong Kook is in our category, too.

Jong Kook's been on the air for over twenty years, too.

Don't say that about someone who really wants it.

He's getting through it with sheer audacity.

He said he'll even go to "Flaming Youth".

He's in his mid-forties, too.

- That's right. - You know it.

- It's too cliche? - This is what I really want to say.

The award I really want is the "Best Couple" Award...

with Ahn Young Mi at tomorrow's MBC Awards.

I think I have a real chance at that.

But let's stop this, now.

Even my mother asks me...

why my expression is so sour whenever I come out.

Mother, I have my reasons.

So...

I'll just say...

you have to stop nominating eight people...

and filling up an hour or two...

with the nominee's skills, without any other content.

Do you understand?

The directors and executives of the three broadcasting companies...

should meet and select their nominees carefully and precisely.

I know they do this because of the advertisements.

But don't do this.

It's time things changed.

I'll just say this and stop.

I mean it. You want this, too.

I got it. Why are you inciting a rebellion?

The directors and executives need to meet...

and take turns.

- I got it. - That's how it should be done.

You should say this later.

- Why are you doing this here? - Many viewers will think...

that Kim Gu Ra is saying something right.

I got it.

This was one of our Grand Award nominees,

Kim Gu Ra.

Gu Ra, who has always had good intuition,

believes that Yu Jae Seok, Baek Jong Won,

and Shin Dong Yeob...

all have a shot at the Grand Award.

Another one of our Grand Award nominees, Kim Byung Man,

was unable to attend because of an overseas commitment.

See, Byung Man's not here.

He wasn't here last here, either.

People say he makes those commitments on purpose.

- Get it? - Calm down, Gu Ra.

He only does one show.

I'll send it back to you two.

Okay, we'll take over from here.

Here we are at 2019 SBS Entertainment Awards.

The "Grand Award Parasite" is so entertaining.

That was very surprising.

Coming up, we have someone who,

according to Gu Ra, has no chance of winning.

We'll have an interview with Seo Jang Hoon.

Please look forward to it.

Now we're going to begin the main awards.

We're getting more fired up as we go.

We have the Excellence Award and the Top Excellence Award.

Here to present the Excellence Award...

are the two people responsible for Monday and Tuesday nights on SBS.

We have the nation's sister, Kim Wan Sun, of "Flaming Youth,"

and the nation's husband, Kangnam,

of "Same Life, Unlike Dreams".

Please give them a round of applause.

Welcome.

They're coming out to one of Wan Sun's songs.

She's coming out with some dance steps.

Her dancing is as good as ever.

Hello.

- You did well. - Thank you.

I just had surgery,

and it hasn't even been a week since the surgery,

so I couldn't dance wholeheartedly.

That's why I danced even harder.

Thank you.

Hello, I'm Kim Wan Sun.

Hello, I'm Kangnam.

I think you were the best this year, Wan Sun.

This is what it says in the script.

That at the Korean Popular Culture and Arts Awards,

you received the Prime Minister's recommendation.

It's not recommendation, but commendation.

Yes, the Prime Minister's Commendation.

It's an important award, right?

So it appears.

From the Prime Minister.

And your music video for "Pierrot"...

has become incredibly trendy these days.

Yes, that's right.

That was my first music video...

in 30 years.

But these days, there's the online Tapgol Park,

which gave the music video new life again.

So if it's a hit again, are you going to do shows again?

I'll do shows,

and perform in venues like this one.

- That's nice. - I see.

I love that song, even now.

Thank you.

Kangnam, congratulations on your marriage.

Thank you.

You married someone that I'm such a huge fan of.

Oh really?

Yes, I'm a huge fan of Lee Sang Hwa.

When I see the two of you acting cute on TV,

- I sometimes get goosebumps. - Do you get goosebumps?

Yes, I get so jealous.

I think Kang Bin would also get goosebumps.

- Kang Bin. - Yes, Kang Bin.

We're happy together.

- I have a bad cold, right now. - Oh really?

- Yes. - Oh no.

Are you watching, sweetie?

I love you.

I see.

I love you, mother-in-law, father-in-law.

Shall we present the award now?

Why don't you present it this time?

- Shall I? - Yes.

2019 SBS Entertainment Awards.

and "Delicious Rendezvous".

It's Kim Hee Chul.

And also, Yoon Sang Hyun, of "Same Life, Different Dreams"

- Congratulations. - Congratulations.

Congratulations.

On "My Little Old Boy"...

and "Delicious Rendezvous,"

"White Hee Chul,"

which has breathed new life into the shows.

The other winner, Sang Hyun,

which has warmed viewers' hearts on "Same Life, Different Dreams".

- Congratulations, both of you. - Congratulations.

The Excellence Award for Reality Show winners,

Thank you so much.

Thank you.

They are receiving congratulations from many people.

Shall we hear their acceptance speeches?

What's happening right now?

Kim Hee Chul and Yoon Sang Hyun won the Excellent Award.

- They've prepared so many flowers. - Yes.

Shall we start with Hee Chul?

My, what's going on?

(The Excellence Award for Reality Shows, Kim Hee Chul)

I am the Universal Superstar Kim Hee Chul,

of "My Little Old Boy"...

and "Delicious Rendezvous",

known for my cleanliness-obsessed character.

First, I'd like to tell my parents, my sister, brother-in-law,

and my nephews, Tae In and Tae Hyuk, that I love them very much.

And I'd like to thank...

all of the staff at "My Little Old Boy"...

who keep my mother happy,

as well as Dong Yeob and Jang Hoon.

I'd like to thank the staff of "Delicious Rendezvous,"

and to Jong Won, Se Hyeong, Dong Jun,

thank you all.

And to those at SM, thank you to Hyung Kook,

Young Jun, Yong Sun, Hee Kyung,

Yeo Jin, Eun Jin, everyone, thank you.

Finally, to the seven-time champion of the Baekdujangsa Championships...

and the five-time champion of the Chunhajangsa Championships,

Kang Ho Dong. I still have a lot to learn from you.

Finally,

I want to express my love...

for Lee Soo Man, who made me a celebrity...

even though I had nothing to offer but my good looks.

I want to thank all of my fans...

who continued to support me and to cheer me on...

to this day.

I will continue to work hard for the farmers and fishermen...

of "Delicious Rendezvous",

and I will continue to work hard on "My Little Old Boy" as well.

Thank you.

Congratulations, Hee Chul.

Now we have Yoon Sang Hyun.

So...

I never thought I was suited...

for entertainment shows.

But I think it is due to...

the producer and writers of "Same Life, Unlike Dreams"...

who helped me out a lot and edited the show well...

so that it is entertaining...

to watch my family.

First, I want to thank the staff of "Same Life, Unlike Dreams".

I'd also like to thank the viewers...

who showed so much love to my family.

Many thanks to all the family members who helped out...

while we were filming,

such as my mother and uncle.

And to my treasures,

that I love very much,

Na Gyeom, Na On, and Hee Seong.

And to the one I will love until death,

Maybee.

I love you. Thank you.

Congratulations.

Congratulations.

These were our two winners...

for the Excellence Award in the Reality TV category.

Next we have the awards...

for the Excellence Award in the Show Variety category.

Please reveal the winners.

Now we will reveal the winners...

for the Excellence Award in the Show Variety category.

2019 SBS Entertainment Award's Excellence Award...

for the Show Variety category goes to...

Yang Se Chan of "Running Man",

and Lee Sang Yun of "Master in the House".

- Congratulations. - Congratulations.

Congratulations.

Yang Se Chan and Lee Sang Yun.

It's the two of them.

Se Chan showed a brilliant knack for entertainment on "Running Man"...

by passionately tackling all missions without holding back.

Yes.

Lee Sang Yun of "Master in the House",

- Yes. - and Yang Se Chan of "Running Man".

Lee Sang Yun has showed us...

his silly charms on 100 episodes of "Master in the House"...

and has reinvented himself as a reliable entertainer.

I'm such a fan of both of them.

- I'd like to congratulate them. - Yes.

Many people are congratulating these two for their win.

Se Chan's brother, Yang Se Hyeong,

is particularly happy for him.

- He leapt up and down. - Yes.

The winners of the Excellence Award in the Show Variety category...

were Yang Se Chan and Lee Sang Yun.

His brother gives him flowers and a kiss.

He only pretended to kiss him.

Right. Se Hyeong can't help but feel happy for these two people.

Of course.

Let us hear their acceptance speeches.

Hello, I'm SsaebSsaeb Se Chan from "Running Man".

(Variety Show Excellence Award Winner Yang Se Chan)

It's been three years since I joined "Running Man".

I haven't done anything big on the show...

but continued to give small laughs.

Thank you so much...

for giving me such a grand award.

There are so many people I'm grateful to.

Thank you to the "Running Man" members,

Jae Seok, Ji Hyo, Seok Jin, So Min, Haha,

Kwang Soo, and Jong Kook.

And to all the staff working behind the scenes,

they really stay up all night making up the games.

I'd like to express my thanks...

to the director and the writers.

Although I've never met her, I'd like to thank...

Director Choi Young In. I've never met her though.

Everyone else mentioned her,

so I feel obligated to thank her as well.

I've never met Producer Kong Hee Chul either,

but I'd like to thank him as well.

I think I'm obligated to.

Thank you so much.

And I'd like to thank my brother, Se Hyeong,

who was always cheering me on...

and supporting me when I was having a hard time.

And to my mother, who always asked when I was going...

to win something, I love you. Thank you.

Congratulations, Se Chan.

Next we have Sang Yun's speech.

Thank you so much.

Honestly,

of all those who are up here,

I feel the least deserving.

There's nothing better about me.

This is an excellence award, but there's nothing excellent about me,

so I'm not sure I deserve this.

I really don't know.

My goodness.

I...

I just...

I just...

More than anything else...

I'm not sure what to say.

But whenever we're filming,

we get to meet good people...

and gain good experiences.

But the staff, who are always preparing those things,

are the ones who work the hardest.

They are always working hard to get new people on the show...

and researching new experiences that we can participate in.

I'd like to tell them how grateful I am to them.

And...

as of this year, I have a writer who's in charge of me,

Hee Su.

I'd like to tell her that I'm sorry and grateful...

for her patience...

whenever I didn't listen to her.

I'm really not sure if I deserve this, but thank you.

Congratulations.

The Show Variety Excellence Award winners...

were Lee Sang Yun and Yang Se Chan.

- Yes. - Yes.

Congratulations on your win.

Now, the fervor has increased...

for the SBS Entertainment Awards Grand Award.

Now we'll move on to the Top Excellence Award.

The Top Excellence Award will be presented...

by the MC of "Same Life, Unlike Dreams", Kim Gu Ra...

and Jungle Queen, Han Bo Reum.

Please come out.

- They've coordinated their steps. - They're showing off their dancing.

- You can see them dance. - That's right.

He's so stiff.

Gu Ra is giving his all.

I thought he might have gone home, but he's still here.

He hasn't gone home.

Hello, I'm Gu Ra.

Everything I said before...

was just a joke.

A lot of people were worried.

My sincere congratulations to all the winners today.

Hello, I'm the actress Han Bo Reum.

Han Bo Reum was on "Radio Star",

and I've also seen you on "Law of the Jungle".

They both suit you,

but do you think you prefer shows that film outside?

I noticed you were on "Law of the Jungle" twice.

Yes, I think I'm better suited for...

- "Law of the Jungle". - Oh really?

It's not easy to do.

I like exercising and swimming.

- I see, - So when I'm in the jungle,

I can see waterfalls and pick bananas,

so the jungle feels like my playground.

- That's how it felt. - I see.

Have you ever thought about going on "Law of the Jungle"?

Me?

If I had the time, I would go,

but my schedule won't allow it.

Anyway, I think anyone who goes on that show is very impressive.

I have thought about sending my son,

Dong Hyeon, over there to suffer a little.

We're here to present the award.

Today, we will be presenting...

the Top Excellence Award...

for the Reality Show category.

Bo Reum, would you do the honors?

I shall present the award.

2019 SBS Entertainment Award's Top Excellence Award...

for the Reality Show category.

Kim Jong Kook of "My Little Old Boy" and "Running Man,"

and Hong Jin Young, of "My Little Old Boy".

- Congratulations. - Congratulations.

- Congratulations. - Congratulations.

Kim Jong Kook is the very capable leader of games...

on "Running Man," as well as a silly son on "My Little Old Boy".

He has led SBS entertainment through his diverse characters.

Hong Jin Young positive energy fills "My Little Old Boy".

Her realistic relationship with her sister, Hong Sun Young,

has given the program new life.

Isn't there another meaning to Jong Kook winning this award?

That's right. He's smiling.

We did meet him as a nominee for the Grand Award earlier.

Oh my.

The Top Excellence Award is also a valuable award.

That's right, it is.

Coincidentally, the mood has become a bit different...

as he's receiving this award...

together with Hong Jin Young.

They had a little something before, right?

Yes, and now they have won the same award.

Here are Kim Jong Kook and Hong Jin Young's speeches.

Hello, I'm Hong Jin Young.

(Reality Show Top Excellence Award Winner Hong Jin Young)

I really didn't know...

I would get such an important award tonight...

when I came here.

Thank you for giving me such a great prize.

Honestly,

I had a hard time this past year.

I think this year has been the toughest year in my life.

Thanks to the people around me, whom I'm so grateful to,

I could hold up...

and make it through.

I thank the "My Little Old Boy" crew, Director Kwak Seung Young,

Director Park Joong Won,

So Young, Seung Hee,

Bo Ram, Ye Seul, and other production crew.

Thank you very much.

I'd also like to thank those who fully trust me...

and decided to work with me.

Tae Hyeok, Min Jae, Cheol Ho,

Yoon Seon, Ye Seul, and Soo Ji.

Thank you very much.

Thank you so much, everyone, for loving me.

I promise I will work harder to repay your love.

And I'd like to thank my beloved family...

and my fans. Thank you.

Congratulations. Now, let's hear from Kim Jong Kook.

The second my name was called for the Top Excellence Award,

I thought I should not come to the ceremony next year.

(Top Excellence Award, Kim Jong Kook)

No matter what the award is...

Okay, guys.

- Hurry over. - Now I see them, I don't want to.

Hurry over. Come here.

Because of Kwang Kyu.

Anyway, thank you so much.

There's one thing I wanted to say if I get an award.

Thanks to "My Little Old Boy",

I went on a trip with my father this year.

It was very...

It's something I wouldn't have done by myself.

I'd like to thank the crew for giving me the chance...

to make that happen.

And I recommend that men go on trips with their fathers.

You will then get to learn a new side of your father,

whom you have been living with your entire life.

Thank you very much. And our "Running Man" crew.

As you know, I have received a lot of love thanks to "Running Man".

So I will just skip them.

I'd like to thank all the production crew.

I promise to work harder. Thank you!

- Okay. - Okay. Congratulations.

- Let's continue... - Next, we're going to announce...

the awardee of Top Excellence Award, Show Variety Category.

There are 1 female and 1 male awardee.

- Bo Reum, please reveal them. - Okay.

2019 SBS Entertainment Award's Excellence Award...

for the Show Variety category.

- Again, we have two winners. - They're amazing people.

The award goes to Kim Seong Ju from "Baek Jong Won's Alley Restaurant".

And Choi Sung Kook from "Flaming Youth".

- Congratulations. - Congratulations.

Congratulations.

Kim Seong Ju is an excellent MC...

of "Baek Jong Won's Alley Restaurants",

with his unique communication skills and gripping comments.

The other winner is Choi Sung Kook.

On "Flaming Youth", he has shown his cheerful energy and true self.

He's the core of the entertainment on "Flaming Youth".

They are the two winners of Show Variety Category.

Congratulations.

Kim Seong Ju is showing a big bright smile.

"Baek Jong Won's Alley Restaurants" production crew...

have all come up to the stage to congratulate him.

Congratulations, Sung Kook.

Choi Sung Kook also received the award.

Congratulations.

He's boasting his charms on "Flaming Youth".

Let's hear a few words from Kim Seong Ju first.

Thank you for the Top Excellence Award.

There are so many great Grand Award nominees this year.

There are seven Grand Award nominees now.

I think I rather got a benefit from it.

I'd like to thank you once again.

After the interview Gu Ra had, which was almost a blooper,

I learned something.

I learned that I need to be realistic at an award speech.

I learned that I should not try to say too much.

I'll give a realistic speech.

I would like to thank Director Choi Young In first.

I think I have to thank her first.

I need to make this clear first.

Since I have become a freelancer,

I have been through thick and thin with Jang Goon.

It's been over 10 years. I'd like thank him very much.

I'd like to also thank Young Jae and Soo Min.

And Director Jung Woo Jin of "Baek Jong Won's Alley Restaurants"...

earlier received Variety Show of the Year.

He had a baby girl in September.

And there's Director Yoon Jong Ho.

He's now producing "Handsome Tigers".

He also had a baby boy while he was shooting our show.

Those were happy occasions to celebrate.

And I would like to mention Director Choi Hee.

Their father passed away while we were shooting.

It must have been tough,

yet they devoted were to the show. I appreciated it much.

And I'd also like to mention our new director, Dong Yo.

Please keep it up.

And one of the directors from "Running Man"...

joined our crew.

Director Park So Yeon and Ahn Jung Hyun.

I believe they will make the show even better next year.

I'd also like to thank the writers, Han Bo Kyung, Lee Hye Min,

the two Min Jungs,

and Kim Min Ji. There are so many writers I'd like to thank.

I'd also like to thank the youngest writer, Kim Ji Woo.

Lastly, I'd like to thank Baek Jong Won,

who plays many different roles. Sometimes he's a director,

and sometimes he's a non-celebrity.

There's something he always tells me.

"Whether you do broadcasting or a business,"

"don't see things in your perspective."

"Try to put yourself in the viewers' and the customers' shoes."

Thank you for telling me this whenever I get swayed.

Thank you!

Now, we will hear a few words from Choi Sung Kook.

Choi Sung Kook.

I made my debut as an SBS actor.

I was recruited during the fifth open recruitment.

I filmed many dramas...

and quite a few movies.

But here I am now, receiving the Top Excellence Award...

at an entertainment awards ceremony.

Well...

People say they will not care about awards...

and they will work harder,

but I care about awards.

So I'm feeling great right now.

I'm going to show this off for a while.

I'd like to thank a few people before I go.

This is probably the first time giving a speech like this.

This is my first time.

The cast members of "Flaming Youth".

They have trust in me and readily follow my lead.

They wouldn't mind doing unpleasant tasks for me. Thank you.

And I'd like to say something to the cast that are older than me.

Since it's a variety show and we've been shooting for so long,

I sometimes say and do things that can be rude without noticing.

I'd like to thank you for understanding and laughing it off.

Thank you.

And my American partner, Lee Yeon Su,

and my British partner, Park Sun Young.

Thank you. I had fun this year.

Let's have more fun next year.

And I'd like to thank the directors of "Flaming Youth"...

including Directors Lee Seung Hoon, Kim Min, and Kim Hwa Jung,

Thanks to you, I can speak and enjoy myself as much as I want.

If I was working with other directors,

I would have had to think and worry much...

about what to do and what not to do on the show.

I would have done calculations and faked it.

They gave me trust, so I could shoot the show comfortably.

Thank you.

I'd also like to thank the writers...

including Jang Jung Hee and Choi Ju Hee.

I know they're busy preparing for the shoot.

But they bear with my complaints and support me,

so I can fully focus on the shoot.

Let's keep it up together next year.

I'm almost done now.

I'm almost done.

My father and mother must be watching me on TV right now.

They told me last year...

that they want me to bring a girl next year, which is this year.

Instead I'm bringing the Top Excellence Award trophy.

I will try to bring a girl home next year.

That's it. Oh, right.

There's one thing I have always wanted to do...

when I get an award like this. Let me do this before I go.

I saw some foreign celebrities or soccer players...

kiss their trophies.

Let me do that before I go. Please give me a second.

The Top Excellence Award goes to Choi Sung Kook!

- Congratulations. - Thank you.

Congratulations.

("Grand Award Parasite")

("Grand Award Parasite")

(The Grand Award nominees had a plan.)

(2019 SBS Entertainment Award, Grand Award Nominee, Seo Jang Hoon)

I think he approached guys like Lee Sang Min or Shin Dong Yeob...

with an ulterior motive...

by using his wealth...

to win over their hearts...

and bombarded them with gifts.

I think he did that on purpose.

He recently bought me an expensive suit.

I wanted to refuse it,

but I didn't have a black suit,

so I received it.

From what I know, he's recruited a great cast.

With Lee Sang Yun and Cha Eun Woo.

I think Jang Hoon won over their hearts...

with money as well.

Jang Hoon started off with the Excellence Award.

Then he received the Top Excellence Award the next year.

Then the Grand Award this year.

We could say that things are happening according to his plan.

That's right.

I remember clearly.

There's an awards ceremony at SBS.

Jang Hoon said this at the event.

Gosh, it gave me goosebumps.

"Whenever I am offered to work on a new or a pilot program,"

"I'll always prioritize SBS programs."

Ask Jang Hoon if this is true.

I'm a witness who was at the site.

Jang Hoon, you had a plan all along.

(2019 SBS Entertainment Award, Grand Award Nominee, Lee Seung Gi)

I'm not sure if I can say this,

but I can see his desire...

to take over the great seniors in this industry.

I can see the desire in his eyes.

Seung Gi once said this to me.

That he will not give up on any of his roles...

as an actor, singer, or an entertainer.

That he will take over...

Jae Seok's, Ho Dong's,

or Gyeong Gyu's position one day.

I think he said this once.

He has a very detailed plan.

There's a shake where he blends everything that's healthy.

He always drinks it.

He's even toned his muscles for the Grand Award.

He kind of scares me.

Seung Gi told me that the most important thing...

one must care for is the Grand Award.

He told me...

the secret to receiving the Grand Award.

He came to me.

(What is the secret to receiving the Grand Award?)

Who cares about the first half of the year?

No one remembers...

what you did in the first half.

Give your all in the second half.

Do everything you can.

This is what Seung Gi told me.

He went to have his fortune read on a program,

and the fortune-teller said his fortune appears once in 50 years.

Bad luck or bad weather is not in his life.

Even a bullet wouldn't go his way.

It's that great of a fortune.

I think the Grand Award of this awards ceremony...

is like a bullet.

It should not be given to him.

That way, even better things will happen to him.

2019 SBS Entertainment Awards.

"Grand Award Parasite". All the nominees have a plan.

This is Park Na Rae with the nominees.

Seong Ju said he's so exhausted...

after his interview with Gu Ra.

So he passed his mic to me.

Let's meet the last two Grand Award nominees.

Who do we have here?

You received the Grand Award last year.

- Thank you. - People associate...

"hard-working" with you,

but we just heard a lot of shocking stories.

"Who cares about the first half? Give your all in the second half."

Is it true that you said this yourself?

I was aware that these slanders were near me...

- and in the industry. - So this is a slander.

I should have kept away from them.

It hurts that I made friends with them and stayed that way.

So does toning your muscles...

not a part of your plan to receive the Grand Award?

That doesn't have to do with the Grand Award.

It's to capture the ladies' hearts.

It's for another goal.

Since Jong Kook is here,

I shouldn't boast about my body.

So it has nothing to do with the Grand Award.

No, it doesn't.

I heard this too.

That you'd catch up with Yu Jae Seok and Kang Ho Dong.

Your desire was revealed.

This is the worst kind of slander.

- How will you do that? - It's not true.

When we were watching Gu Ra's interview earlier,

I thought we were watching YouTube.

I couldn't believe how straightforward he could be on TV.

- He was so candid. - And this is being aired live,

- so it can't be edited out. - It can't.

Let's be realistic now.

Look here. We already have four awards on this table.

This is the maximum number of awards one program can receive.

So it's over.

Realistically speaking, I think the Grand Award...

will be given to either Jae Seok, Dong Yeob, or Jong Won.

I think it'll be one of the three.

I'll ask a straightforward question.

Will you take the Grand Award, the bullet, or avoid it?

I should avoid this.

Only then can I live.

- Really? - Earlier...

- Like this. - He's avoiding it.

Dong Yeob said it's 100 percent earlier.

It's double or nothing. I think it's 200 percent.

I'm 200 percent sure that Dong Yeob will receive it.

Regardless of the award,

are you sure the teamwork of "Master in the House" is okay?

Well, the teamwork is...

How it seems is all that matters.

- Okay. - We've been pretending well.

It may be festering inside,

but we have no problem to be on air.

We have the best teamwork.

I see. I hope the four of you stay together forever.

- Thank you. - Let's see if you'll get the award.

- Thank you. - All right.

Let's meet the last nominee.

Gu Ra actually looked down on him.

- Can you... - Do you want me to stand up?

- Can you? - Sure.

Do you want me to do the interview standing up?

So this is...

I'm not sure how we look on camera.

- We'll do it while you sit down. - Okay.

- I'll stay seated. - Okay.

This is your first time being nominated for the Grand Award.

How do you feel?

I haven't been on the same page with Gu Ra for a while,

but today, I agreed with a lot of what he said.

Do you agree with what Gu Ra said earlier?

Yes. I'm not sure if you have the time to interview even me.

I think I don't even deserve...

to be a backup nominee.

I'm already so grateful to have my name listed along with...

- such great people. - Don't be so humble.

At the SBS awards ceremony,

did you really say that you'll star in all the new SBS programs?

- Is this true? - Yes, that's what I said then.

Wait. What does that mean? What about now?

That's not what I meant. I starred in a lot of SBS programs.

I was in a lot of them.

And those programs became a big hit too.

So I still feel the same about that.

I'll always prioritize SBS.

You speak so humbly.

The viewers might be confused, so please allow me to butt in.

This man right here...

said that he was not a celebrity until three years ago.

- Because he's an athlete, - Right.

- being invited to these events... - He said he's not a celebrity.

- made him feel uncomfortable. - He's an athlete.

- Ask him if he's a celebrity. - Okay.

Jang Hoon, are you a celebrity?

I've changed my career long ago.

No, give us a straightforward answer.

- No. Since long ago... - Are you a celebrity?

I've been saying that I'm a celebrity since a long time ago.

It's been 6 or 7 years since I've been appearing on TV.

So it'd be ridiculous for me...

to say that I'm not a celebrity now.

What matters more to me than the interview as the nominee...

is to promote the program that premieres on January 10,

"Handsome Tigers".

It's about actual basketball games.

I hope a lot of you watch it.

All right. Before we end this,

can we ask you, who used to be a non-celebrity,

to say a word to Jong Won?

Well, now...

I think it's about time...

that you admit that you're a celebrity.

Because...

I love and respect Jong Won.

Denying it flat out...

I used to do it and got criticized a lot for it.

So now...

just let the public call you whatever they want.

Okay. Let's end the interview with the pure celebrity, Jang Hoon.

Thank you.

Thank you, Na Rae.

Now we have met...

the eight nominees for the Grand Award.

Who will take the honor?

Please stay tuned and watch until the end.

Next up is a very special performance...

for the entertainment awards.

That's right.

The hottest solo artist of 2019.

Let me give you a hint.

- Na Rae? - Yes?

- What time is it now? - The time is...

It's sad, it's midnight already

Chungha has prepared a special performance.

We'll need all the celebrities here,

not just Chungha, for this performance.

While Chungha dances,

your faces will appear on this screen here.

Like the kiss cam at baseball stadiums,

when your face shows up,

you must dance like Chungha,

or dance however you like.

You know what?

- You must do it. - You must...

dance.

Let's perform together.

"Gotta Go" by Chungha starts now.

("Gotta Go" by Chungha)

Here.

All right.

That was great.

It was.

I lost track of time.

It was a hot stage.

Now, we'll continue presenting the awards.

The awardee has been selected by SBS producers...

who work hard to make great shows.

It's the Producer's Award.

Last year's awardee, Kim Jong Kook,

and the female host of "Same Life, Unlike Dreams 2",

Kim Sook, will present the award.

Please give them a big hand.

Sook does not get intimidated.

Okay.

Hello, I'm Kim Jong Kook.

Hello, I'm Comedienne Kim Sook.

- It's good to see you. - It's nice to see you.

Congratulations on receiving the Top Excellence Award.

Receiving the award put me at ease.

- I can enjoy it now. - You seemed upset to receive...

- What? - the Top Excellence Award...

when you're a Grand Award nominee.

That's not true. I'd gladly receive anything I'm given.

Well, I saw what the nominees said earlier,

and all of them said they wouldn't receive it.

They said they'd avoid it or that they don't deserve it.

I think you're the only one who's been honest about it.

You're the only one that said you'd take the award.

No. Jae Seok said he'd receive it.

Right. Jae Seok...

and you said you'd receive it.

Yes. Had I known, I'd have said otherwise.

- Right. - I can't turn back the time.

But you began starring in SBS programs...

since "Family Outing".

Then "Running Man" and "My Little Old Boy".

You're like the son of SBS.

So maybe for the first time ever, they might give you...

both the Top Excellence Award and the Grand Award.

If I were the one to decide, I'd have given you the Grand Award.

But you're not the one to decide.

No.

I could say anything I want, right?

I don't mind who receives what.

- Right. - I just want anyone to take it.

Don't be so nonchalant just because it doesn't involve you.

- Be honest. Do you want it or not? - What?

Well, to be honest...

- No? - No.

So Jae Seok is the only one who wants to receive it.

- I'm done now. - Okay.

While rooting for you...

to receive the Grand Award,

we'll now present the Producer's Award.

The awardee of the Producer's Award has been selected by...

the producers who make the program, so it's all the more meaningful.

Please announce the awardee, Jong Kook.

I will now announce who will be receiving this award.

Let's see who it is...

on the screen.

(Screaming)

(Bring it on!)

(He doesn't care about his image.)

(It's okay to ruin it.)

(He's a great actor and a singer.)

(He's also cute and clumsy.)

(Uncle Seung Gi)

(The all-around entertainer who even made kids fall for him)

Please cut me some slack.

(Producer's Award, Lee Seung Gi)

Lee Seung Gi is the winner of the Producer's Award.

Congratulations.

- Congratulations. - The Producer's Award...

goes to Lee Seung Gi.

Congratulations.

Seung Gi has become an actor, a singer, and an entertainer...

who is irreplaceable.

He's the most wanted entertainer...

for the SBS producers.

The team of "Master in the House" have now received five awards.

Right.

It's a festival for them.

Since this is given by the producers,

it's all the more meaningful.

Right.

He received last year's Grand Award as well.

This year, he receives the Producer's Award.

Let's hear his acceptance speech.

Okay.

I really thought four was the maximum number we could receive.

Thank you so much for such an honorable award.

Come to think about it, Se Hyeong has been working hard...

on other programs as the honorary staff at SBS.

While we were watching SBS Variety Show Museum earlier...

Although little by little,

I grew up with and learned a lot...

from Jae Seok, Dong Yeob, and many others...

and worked on a lot of SBS programs.

I'm glad to be able to attend the awards ceremony every year...

and to appear on programs.

Actually, "Master in the House"...

have stood on our ground...

despite the competition among the Sunday variety shows.

Especially, the four of us...

kept it together like brothers and made it here.

I am so thankful.

And I'd also like to thank the viewers.

Above all, the production crew must go through a lot...

to cast the masters.

I heard it's gotten harder to cast masters than last year.

I hope you work harder next year...

so we can improve the quality of our show.

My mind has gone blank.

I'd like to thank all of you.

And I'm even more grateful that this was given...

by producers who work hard for SBS variety shows.

Thank you, viewers.

Oh, I'd like to thank Producer Kim Jung Wook...

of "Little Forest".

And the production crew worked so hard.

They went through so much when taking care of the kids.

I'm very happy that it all ended well.

Thank you and I'll work harder. Thank you.

The awardee has been selected by the producers.

It was given to Lee Seung Gi.

The past and present of SBS variety shows.

You're with Variety Show Museum.

2019 SBS Entertainment Awards.

This time, we will be presenting the Achievement Award...

to the one who made a great contribution.

We have great people as presenters of this award.

That's right. You'll be happy to see this person.

This is him.

In 1993,

he hosted the best SBS talk show on his own.

- Right. - He's a legendary MC.

He's good-looking, and he hosts with class.

He has gotten hearty support from the viewers of our country.

He's the gentleman of all MCs.

- The trilobite of MCs, - Yes.

the mammoth of MCs, it's him, right?

- Yes, the archaeopteryx. - The archaeopteryx.

- Yes. - When he comes out,

it would be better if we all stood up and welcome him.

- Yes. - I used to watch him...

and dream of becoming an MC.

Everyone,

please give a big round of applause for Joo Byung Jin!

- He's the legendary MC. - Welcome.

It's Joo Byung Jin!

He'll be awarding the Achievement Award.

Hello, everyone. I am Joo Byung Jin.

But you're not...

usually like this.

Why are you all acting this way?

You look like politicians.

Like politicians who only try to look good before the election.

Please take your seats.

It's great to see you all.

It's been a while.

It has been 29 years already.

In a few days,

it'll be the 30th anniversary.

In 1991,

when SBS was first established,

I thought to myself,

"When SBS opens,"

"KBS, MBC, and SBS,"

"they will form a triangular structure."

"And show business in Korea will blossom."

That's what I thought.

And now, that thought easily became...

a reality.

Around this time of every year,

each broadcasting station holds...

the entertainment awards ceremony.

I heard that it's 2, 3 times more difficult...

to receive an award from SBS.

That means there are a lot of quality programs here.

In a word, you could say...

this is the major league of all entertainment awards ceremonies.

I would have still said these words if I were to be invited...

to a different broadcasting station.

I'm saying it out of courtesy.

So the people of other stations shouldn't mind what I said.

Now I will award the Achievement Award.

We only have the Grand Award and the Achievement Award left.

Starting this year, there will be prize money.

The winner of the Grand Award will receive...

as much as 100,000 dollars.

And the winner of the Achievement Award...

will be acknowledged of the achievement...

of making the viewers happy,

and contributing to the progress of the shows,

so the winner receives a higher prize money.

The winner will receive the prize money...

of 150,000 dollars.

- People are stirred up. - Dong Yeob,

I'm just saying things.

It was a joke.

The economy is so bad these days,

- so I was just saying. - His hands got curled up.

Even I wouldn't spend 100 dollars in this bad economy.

I apologize for causing trouble.

Now...

I will announce the winner of the Achievement Award.

2019 SBS Entertainment Awards, the Achievement Award...

It's the Achievement Award.

From "Baek Jong Won's Alley Restaurants"...

and "Delicious Rendezvous", it's Baek Jong Won.

Yes.

2019 SBS Entertainment Awards, the Achievement Award goes to...

Baek Jong Won!

Congratulations.

Though Baek Jong Won is not a celebrity,

since "Baek Jong-won's Top 3 Chef King" in 2015,

he has been leading the cooking shows of SBS...

with "Baek Jong-won's Food Truck",

"Baek Jong Won's Alley Restaurants", and "Delicious Rendezvous".

He had significantly contributed to SBS.

- Yes. - Yes.

A non-celebrity who's good at cooking won the Achievement Award.

- Yes. - Yes.

He has won the Achievement Award.

He is in "Baek Jong Won's Alley Restaurants",

and "Delicious Rendezvous".

He has been receiving love from a lot of viewers.

- He has worked very hard. - Yes.

His new show, "Delicious Rendezvous" is being loved by the people.

- That's right. - He deserves the award.

The Achievement Award goes to the person...

who had contributed remarkably to the variety shows of SBS.

The winner is Baek Jong Won.

Let us listen to his speech.

Oh, my.

(Achievement Award, Baek Jong Won)

Thank you.

I really appreciate it.

I don't know if I should accept this award.

I'm not sure if I deserve it.

I really appreciate it.

There are a lot of people other than me...

who had put an immense amount of effort...

to bring joy to people in this hard time.

It must mean that I should work harder.

I'll work harder,

for SBS in a narrow sense,

for the viewers, the people of this country...

in a wider sense.

I'll do my best to do things that will give you strength.

Of course, I appreciate...

the members of our staff behind me.

Just in case...

I've said this on television a few times,

I think they're cutting it out.

There are a lot of people I'd like to thank.

But I'd like to say this.

When we film "Alley Restaurants" and "Delicious Rendezvous"...

There are a few members of our staff...

who are outside right now.

We have a lot of different shows.

But the reason we keep finding strength...

and become united as a group is...

mostly because of these people.

When we film "Alley Restaurants" and "Delicious Rendezvous",

these people visit the restaurants on our show,

or the rest areas that were on "Delicious Rendezvous".

They line up...

and enjoy the food.

We get a lot of energy...

from these people.

It makes us realize...

the influence we have in this community,

so we get more cautious and gain energy.

Since I'm here...

Whether we're filming in the countryside,

or somewhere else,

they visit...

to support us. They're the customers.

I appreciate all of them.

Thanks to you,

we feel more responsible every time,

and it makes us want to do better.

We'll try to do as much as we can.

All the owners of the restaurants in the alleys,

the farmers, and fishermen, put your chin up.

We'll do our best...

so that you can see hope.

I really appreciate it.

2019 SBS Entertainment Awards, the Achievement Award went to...

- Baek Jong Won. - Yes.

Congratulations.

Yes.

- Baek Jong Won! - Baek Jong Won!

- I'm nervous. - 2019 SBS Entertainment Awards...

- The time has come. - As we go through...

all the awardees one by one,

we finally have...

the Grand Award.

We have eight nominees.

Shin Dong Yeob, Yu Jae Seok, Kim Gu Ra,

Kim Byung Man, Kim Jong Kook,

Seo Jang Hoon, Lee Seung Gi, and Baek Jong Won.

Some of them...

has already been awarded.

- Yes. - It's possible for...

- a nominee to win two awards. - Of course.

You could win the Top Excellence Award and the Grand Award.

You could win the Achievement Award and the Grand Award.

You could win the Producer's Award and the Grand Award.

- Right. - Yes.

- But practically, - Yes.

I'm quoting Gu Ra,

it's possible that it's either Shin Dong Yeob or Yu Jae Seok.

Let me say that...

all the other nominees are prominent candidates.

It's a nervous moment.

This the most unpredictable year.

Will you please announce it?

Yes, I must introduce the awarders first.

One of the awarders is someone I admire.

It's the director of SBS, Choi Young In.

- Is she coming out? - Is she finally coming out?

- At last... - "Director Choi Young In" is...

on the keyword search list.

Her name has come up...

continuously during the speeches.

She has let me be the MC of such an occasion.

It's the admirable Director Choi Young In.

Yang Se Chan has never even met her before.

- Right? - This will be his first time.

She's the awarder of the Grand Award.

The viewers must also be curious of who this person is.

They must be.

She was clenching her fists over there.

- She's very nervous. - Yes.

- And... - It's Director Choi Young In. And?

Yes, he's the winner of last year's Grand Award.

Lee Seung Gi will join her.

- Please give it up for the two! - Please give it up.

Welcome.

(SBS Variety Show Museum)

She's finally here.

- It's Director Choi Young In. - That's her, everyone.

Hello, I'm Choi Young In, the director of SBS.

Yes.

It's her first time on television,

so we couldn't hear her voice. Please introduce yourself again.

Hello, I'm Choi Young In,

the director of the entertainment department at SBS.

Hello, I'm Lee Seung Gi.

Director Choi, during today's awards ceremony,

so many celebrities expressed their gratitude to you.

And Se Chan, you two have never met before, right?

Please say hello.

- Hello. - Hello.

It's a pleasure to see you.

- Hello. - Hello.

She's really...

She has been leading the variety shows of SBS until now.

It's all thanks to the love SBS programs received...

that the atmosphere at the awards show is so nice today.

I am very glad and grateful for being able to share...

our variety shows with everyone.

How did the year go for you, Seung Gi?

I'm...

That was a pretty machine-like question.

I'm sorry.

Please be more natural, Director.

How did the year go for you, Seung Gi?

Me? I've been working with the teams of...

"Master in the House" and "Little Forest",

and I think it's been a very busy year.

I spent the year with the variety shows of SBS,

and it was a very happy year for me since I was able to...

bring joy to the viewers at least a little bit.

It's the 30th anniversary of SBS next year.

We'll bring to you newer and more touching shows...

next year.

Please show us warm support.

You usually give a briefing...

at the awards ceremony...

on the programs of next year.

I heard you also have great shows next year just like this year.

We'll always have new shows prepared.

First of all, next January, we're bringing Seo Jang Hoon...

to play handsome basketball on "Handsome Tiger".

That's our first new show next year. Please enjoy it.

Yes, now we should announce the winner.

Everyone has been waiting for this.

We will now announce the winner of the Grand Award.

Director Choi, you may announce the winner.

2019 SBS Entertainment Awards, the Grand Award...

It's the honorable Grand Award.

He has been doing this for a long time.

It's Yu Jae Seok of "Running Man".

Yu Jae Seok!

Yu Jae Seok of "Running Man" has...

won the Grand Award of 2019 SBS Entertainment Awards!

Congratulations.

"Running Man" has been airing on Sundays for nine years,

and it has become the best variety show of SBS.

It's their 10th anniversary next year. It's 2 happy occasions.

Congratulations.

He was the only nominee to disclose his indecent desires.

And he's won it. Congratulations.

He has received the Grand Award in 2015,

and it has been four years since then.

It's been four years.

Yu Jae Seok has been selected as the brightest star...

who had brought glory to SBS variety shows.

It must bring back some old memories.

- Congratulations. - Let's listen to his speech.

I don't know what to say.

(Grand Award, Yu Jae Seok)

I'm really grateful.

It's the 10th anniversary of "Running Man" next year.

This is such a huge award.

During the interview before,

I told them...

that I'd like to...

be awarded with the members of "Running Man" if I were to win.

But I'm the only one that's to be awarded.

I'm really thankful and sorry to my members.

Mr. Baek,

Dong Yeob, Jang Hoon,

Gu Ra, Seung Gi,

and Byung Man, all those who's been nominated with me,

I appreciate all of you.

I'd like to express my gratitude first...

to my parents and my parents-in-law.

And my Ji Ho, Na Eun,

and my dear Na Kyung Eun.

And Jung Cheol Min, the producer of "Running Man",

Producer Bo Pil, Ha Yeon,

all the other writers, Mi Yeon,

Hyo Rim,

I'd like to thank all members of our production crew.

When I win the Grand Award to give a speech...

on the stage, I always forget to say someone's name.

I'll come by to say hello later if I left anyone out.

Most of all, my 10-year-old teammates,

Seok Jin, Ji Hyo, Se Chan,

So Min, Haha, Kwang Soo, and Jong Kook.

We've had difficult moments during the 10 years.

I appreciate you for relying on each other,

working, and sweating together.

I sincerely appreciate all the fans of "Running Man" too.

And actually,

the variety shows are losing their place...

in the show business.

To the staff, our members, and numerous other guests...

of "Running Man" who had joined us,

I appreciate all of you...

for joining us regardless of the fact.

As I've told you before, it's our 10th anniversary next year.

We'll have to show you a different side of us.

That's a problem we must solve.

We'll do our best to keep growing.

As I'm on this stage,

there's a lot of things I want to talk about.

But among all the guests of "Running Man",

the poor souls who passed away this year,

Koo Ha Ra and Sulli, cross my mind.

I hope you two are comfortable up there,

and I hope you're doing...

whatever you want to do.

I'd like to thank the two of them as well.

Also, I've been thinking.

I used to look for fun things, happy things,

and pleasant things to do.

These days, I've become thankful...

for the normal moments in my daily life.

For those people who have worked very hard...

to let me enjoy...

the day, the week, and the year,

I'd like to thank all those people again.

Thank you. I won't make this too long.

I wish you a Happy New Year.

I'm not sure how we will change things...

in the next year,

but whichever path it is, we'll find a new path...

to develop the field.

And we can discover more of new talents...

for the variety shows.

A lot of people are here,

but I wish more people of variety shows...

would come next year to enjoy this festival.

I appreciate all the viewers who had loved "Running Man".

Thank you. Happy New Year.

- Yes. - Yes.

Yu Jae Seok of "Running Man" has written a new history in varieties.

- Congratulations again. - Congratulations.

2019 SBS Entertainment Awards, the Grand Award...

went to Yu Jae Seok.

- Yes. - I think it's time we say goodbye.

Yes. It's time to lower the curtains of 2019 SBS Entertainment Awards.

We sincerely appreciate all the viewers...

who have loved our variety shows this year.

SBS will greet the 30th anniversary next year,

and we'll do our best to bring you...

funnier laughs, healthier laughs, and touching moments.

Thank you for watching until the late hours.

We'll wish them a Happy New Year with the winner of the Grand Award.

- Happy New Year! - Happy New Year!
