there's been what's described as an

incident on board the plane which is a

union air 747 with

passenger on board the flight has

managed to get through to her sister

told her that a man or men has somehow

gained access and force their way onto

the flight deck of the aircraft Jim how

could that happen I thought that

couldn't happen could that have happened

well there's some suggestion that the

man or men may have been disguised as a

member or member of the flight crew and

that that's how they managed to gain

access to the door of the flight deck uh

possibly using a piece of wood specially

made for the purpose and could that have

happened how could that have happened

well all airlines operate extremely

tight security when it comes to

possession of uniforms for their Crews

but in this case what could have

happened is that they didn't work Jimmy

exactly what kind of wood might have our

getting back in due to the flight deck

door having become sticky at uh roughly

the same time there was a temporary

glitch in shiel air traffic control

systems and it was a full few minutes

before the backup systems became op

operational flight number 216 landed

normally uh just 7 minutes behind

schedule approximately a quarter of an

hour ago thank you what St did become

what stage did it become clear there was
