I unpacked most of them myself.

You know, I noticed that a piece of that
wrapping paper had been torn loose.

These two are listed
in the exhibit catalogue.

- Those were the two that were taken?

- They're two of my favorites. Degas pastels.

Pastels? You mean like
the kids use in school?

These two alone together happen to be worth

and took out a gun,

the thief suddenly got smart,

and he took two of the most valuable
paintings in the house and he ran.

Guess that does seem
a bit inconsistent, doesn't it?

Then life has its own inconsistencies.

How does a thief get rid of

Although, art thieves usually try to
make a deal of some kind with the owner,

the gallery, the insurance company.

You see, that's what I thought.
It's just like a kidnapping.

In other words, what they want really
is the ransom.

somebody must be pretty scared
