I don't want them to see my face!

If they do, they'll kill me!

Shut up!

They already know it's you.

Those guys are obviously wreaking havoc using your ability!

Okay! This mirror is the linchpin for the allied forces to escape.

Once I complete this task, I'll get my heart back.

And once I have it, I'll teach all of them a lesson!

Hey, Mother

How's everything going inside?

I'm not hearing any shrieks yet... What's Big Mom doing?

Just as we planned...

The cake is busted... and the flock of Straw Hats are on the loose...

The portrait of Mother Carmel is broken, too...

So why isn't Big Mom shrieking?!

What's going on?!

Luffy-san, listen to me!

Big Mom's had too many shocks in quick succession,

so she doesn't know how to focus her anger.

Okay! I'll do it if you say so!

Leave it to me!

Stop Straw Hat! Don't let him get close to Mama!

Why are you getting in my way?!

Bege!

Bege, you bastard...

Go to hell, Katakuri!

What are you doing, Gang Bege?!

I knew you'd betray us, Bege...

Brother Peros!

Hurry up and shoot them!

Yeah, I know.

Goodness... The future-seeing man sure is busy...

But in this one situation, I too can see the future.

Trapped in my candy, you'll all die with pathetic looks on your faces.

There can be no other outcome!

If only we had our Raid Suits...

you would not have gotten away with this!

Raid?

What's that? Is it some kind of weapon? Lick.

Whoa-whoa, why would you want to bring such a thing to your son's wedding?

Run for it, Reiju!

It's you again!

Don't get in my way!

Sanji...

What is he doing? He's causing trouble...

Sanji...

I underestimated your kindness.

Even after everything we've done to you, you still won't abandon us.

I've always hated being a Vinsmoke

and have always been ashamed of it.

But...

...when I saw you all grown up...

I felt relieved!

Because I realized that we still had a conscience in our bloodline...

Thank you... Sanji!

Oh, no! Sanji's family is...

You bastard!

Pedro!

Don't touch it, Luffy! Go!

Thanks!

Five Thousand Brick...

...Fist!

Bege!

Go to hell, Katakuri!

Oh no, you don't!

Mama...

Mama... No!

M...

Mother...

M...

Mother!

Mama!

All right!

Now, take care of the rest by yourselves.

Well, I guess they can't hear me.

Mama got injured?!

She's weakened!

Hey! Somebody stop Bege and his men!

Bege!

How dare you betray us!

Farewell, Big Mom!

Mother...

Hey... Listen, Mother.

Nobody will listen to me.

Hey, Mother... Where did you go?

Big Mom's tears...

This story goes back 63 years, to Elbaf in the New World.

The island home of the warriors of Elbaf, the most famous of Giants.

Now, come on.

Charlotte Linlin (Human, Five Years Old)

What is this place?

I'll tell you later. Hurry and come down from there, Linlin.

Uh-huh!

Hup!

Hey, hey.

Where are we? Are you going somewhere?

Papa has a job to do nearby.

Linlin, will you be a good girl and wait for us here?

What?! I wanna come with you...

If you're a good girl, you can eat all the candy in your backpack that you want!

That's right!

What?!

All of it?! Then, I'll wait, I'll wait!

I'll wait for you!

See you later!

Hurry back!

Linlin...

Don't cry yet.

After all the damage she caused, we're lucky she's only being exiled.

She's just... too much for us to handle.

They say the Holy Mother lives here. She'll save Linlin.

Let's set off! We're in a dangerous area!

See you!

Wow! Those are some big fish.

GROWL

This is weird. They're taking too long.

I'm getting hungry...

Mama, Papa... Where did you go?

Why aren't you back yet?!

As for Elbaf,

a century ago, it was home to Giant warriors that were feared by the entire world.

They were the Giant Warrior Pirates!

They terrorized the entire world and burned down countless cities.

However,

when the Giant Warrior Pirates' two captains suddenly vanished...

they passed into legend.

Shortly afterwards, several of the remaining members,

careless after the loss of their leaders...

wound up being captured by the Navy and sentenced to death.

Kill them!

Please wait!

Stop the execution!

Heaven seeks a peaceful understanding!

Until the appearance of a wandering holy woman!

Her name was Sister Carmel.

Sister Carmel

Heaven seeks what?! What nonsense are you talking about?!

Do you know how much terror they've caused...

An even greater reason for penance! Why can't you see that?

If you kill those men,

the warriors of Elbaf will form an army to get their revenge against humanity!

Forgive their crimes!

I will guide them!

To a world where all races join hands

and laugh together!

In time, she became "Mother" Carmel, and founded an orphanage...

...called the Sheep's House, where she took in children

without anywhere else to go, regardless of their status or race.

On Elbaf, the homeland of the Giants...

she served as a diplomatic bridge to unite humanity and the Giants...

And then, 37 years later...

It'll be okay, Linlin.

Mother Carmel (80 Years Old) and the Sheep's House Children

We can all live together in happiness until your parents come back!

They won't come back! You've been abandoned!

All of the children here are quite interesting.

Interesting enough for our parents to give us up!

You'll be friends in no time.

Uh-huh! Thank you!

I'm starving!

You're huge! Are you a Giant?

In that case, let's eat!

There was a prince chased out of his country after a coup...

And impoverished children who nearly fell into slavery...

Problem children whose parents couldn't handle them...

All of them lived in a Giant village where their pasts couldn't haunt them.

Hey, Mother!

Is she new?

But most importantly of all, for Linlin, who was always bigger than everyone else,

Elbaf was the first place...

where the people, homes, and sights were her size.

It was a comforting place for her.

This is great!

The Next Day

Why did it happen? Why did it happen?

Oh, no. What's the matter, Linlin?

Mother, listen...

A bear and a wolf were fighting in the forest.

I wanted them to be friends because fighting is bad.

So I put them in the same cage yesterday.

And then Mr. Bear ate Mr. Wolf!

That's why I hit Mr. Bear.

Mr. Bear looks sorry now. How many times did you hit him?

Just once...

Instant... death?!

Oh, I understand!

You just wanted them to be friends!

Linlin, you're such a sweet girl!

Uh-huh!

Then, let's go play with everyone else!

Uh-huh!

To Linlin, Carmel was the first person ever to really understand her.

I saw it! Linlin killed a bear with a single hit!

She's dangerous!

Did you hear that she injured Eiri-kun, the Giant?

She was only smacking him to hit a mosquito!

She broke lots of his bones!

Ouch! Ouch!

What are you doing, Linlin?

What?

Mother! Help!

Well, he has an extra joint, so I was gonna rip it off for him.

No, he's from the Longarm Tribe! It's normal for them!

Oh... I see...

Ouch!

Linlin, what are you doing?!

He has fins, so I was gonna rip them off for him.

Don't do that. Fishmen have the physical traits of fish.

Oh... I see...

I was terrified!

Everyone, forgive her!

Linlin is a kind girl!

Carmel forgave everything.

Wait, wait!

Linlin's gonna kill us!

Wait, wait! Wait, wait!

Kashi

10 months later, in War-Land Elbaf, in the New World.

The mighty warriors welcomed Linlin with open arms.

Oimo

Wait, wait.

It's almost been 40 years...

Have you ever seen a duel last that long?

Oimo agrees! Let's go get them in 10 years!

Hey, Linlin! Did you guys finish preparing?

Kashi, preparing for what?

Oh, Linlin-chan, I guess it's your first time.

Before the Winter Solstice Festival, Elbaf fasts for 12 days!

A fast?

We won't be eating anything. We're only allowed to drink water.

That's 12 days starting tomorrow!

What?!

I'm gonna be hungry!

But if you can endure it, we'll have a festival!

Your true opponent is yourself, Hajrudin!

Stand up, Hajrudin!

Hajrudin

This Giant boy, Hajrudin...

...will eventually meet Luffy on Dressrosa, and be impressed by his determination.

Along with Bartolomeo and the others,

he exchanged cups of sake as parent and son with Luffy.

He is now a member of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet.

The tough boy!

Either Chief Dorry or Chief Brogy will return...

and the Giant Warrior Pirates will be reformed!

You're a warrior! You've got to discipline yourself, Hajrudin!

Yeah!

I like the spirit! Raideen!

Uh-huh!

"Mountain Beard" Jarl "Waterfall Beard" Jorl

(345 Years Old)

(344 Years Old)

Waterfall Beard-sama! Mountain Beard-sama!

Carmel's ideas about trade over plunder are all well and good.

But we must not forget the fact that we are warriors!

Yes!

Jarl-sama and Jorl-sama are so cool!

Former Co-Captains of the Giant Warrior Pirates (Two of the World's Oldest Warriors) Heroes Of The Giants

The most respected warriors of Giantkind!

I wanna be like them some day!

What are you two doing here today?

We're here to eat semla in the village. We've come to call on the children of the Sheep's House.

It's good to see you, Linlin.

What's semla?

It's a sweet, delicious treat!

What?! A sweet?

Eating semla before the fast will give us lots of nutrients!

Are we gonna eat it now? The sweet?!

Sweet cream dolloped in sweet bread with marzipan,

topped with a dusting of sugar!

It's the fun before the fast!

Sounds delicious!

All right, everyone!

We celebrate the recent birth of Prince Loki at the castle.

And the births of Road and Goldberg in the village!

We thank the Sun for their growth!

Thank the Sun!

Thank you for the food!

Yeah! Semla!

There's plenty for everyone!

So sweet!

It's delicious!

I'm happy!

Delicious! Delicious! Sweet! Sweet! Delicious! Delicious!

Delicious! Delicious!

Delicious! Delicious!

Whoa-whoa! Hey, Linlin!

Don't eat so fast! There won't be enough to go around!

Don't forget to thank the Sun!

Semla!!

It's delicious! It's so delicious! Semla!

Day 3 of the Fast

Mother... I'm starving to death...

The Winter Solstice Festival celebrates the death and rebirth of the Sun.

After the harsh winter, the Sun will shine down on us again.

Day 4 of the Fast

The more we suffer, the more we will appreciate the Sun.

So... let's keep going!

If Mother says so, I'll... keep trying...

Day 5 of the Fast

I'm getting skinnier...

You haven't changed.

Oh yeah? That's strange...

Linlin!

You're doing great! Just a little more to go!

Uh-huh!

Linlin truly loved Mother.

Day 6 of the Fast

The semla was so delicious...

I...

...want to have more.

Day 7 of the Fast

Oh, no!

Mother, help!

What's the matter, Gerth?!

Linlin-chan is...!

This is...

Semla!!

How dare you...

Linlin!

Bring me semla...

Semla!

Linlin destroyed the village of Elbaf!!

It's a nightmare!

You've made a grave mistake, Linlin! You do not have the right to thank the Sun!

Even a child can only be forgiven for so much!

Jorl-sama!

Jorl-sama!

Semla... Semla...

I'm sorry, Carmel...

She may look like a child...

Don't do it! Jorl-sama!

but she's a demon!

Semla...
