Dynamite this past week was what version

Kyle O 'Reilly are we going to see in
singles competition post neck injury?

Well, we found out this was a man that
took Jon Moxley to the 20 minute time

limit. He went toe to toe with one of
the most lethal men in AEW. He has

the mountain that Moxley can't climb.
Tonight, the Continental Championship is

on the line, but there is no time limit.

No time limit. Everyone is banned from
ringside. Thank you for that, Renee.

Jon Moxley.

He says he is a better version of a
professional wrestler.

I mean, let alone from when he debuted
in AEW seven years ago at Double or

Nothing. A move that...

It was a paradigm shift in so many words
for the sport of professional

wrestling, let alone for AEW. But Jon
Moxley, he says, day after day, he

continues to get better, Nigel. Yeah,
well, Jim, you can back that up. Jon

Moxley is a real student of the game.
Yes. He learns every outing. He gets

better, and his way is so difficult to
beat.

You know, ironically, the situation here
tonight is that Moxley, arguably, is

the underdog going into this match.

And I'm not saying that's because...

The other kid is better. It may be his
night.

The pressure is on Jon Moxley. To that
point, Kyle O 'Reilly, late last year,

forced Jon Moxley to tap out on two
separate occasions, Nigel. First in the

blood and guts match, and then in the
wild ball at full gear. You both make

great points.

Mox cannot be saved by the bell here
tonight.

I said earlier, the ankle lock of Kyle O
'Reilly has proved to be the kryptonite

to Jon Moxley's Superman.

On more than one occasion, O 'Reilly had
Moxley.

He saw Moxley tap more than the radio
operator on the Titanic.

It'll be a tough night for the
continental champion.

This ought to be a hell of a match,
fellas.

It's personal and it's professional.

And when you get that combination
together, it's a recipe that tastes

What a beating out process here. Yeah,
probing early. We saw very similar this

past Wednesday night at Dynamite where
Kyle O 'Reilly went for 20 minutes in

eliminator match to earn this shot at
Moxley tonight. But O 'Reilly, JR, he

seemed displeased with the fact, not the
fact that he had Jon Moxley, he earned

this match, but he seemed displeased
with the fact that he felt like Moxley

on the verge of tapping out and O
'Reilly didn't get that satisfaction for

third time. I agree with that statement.

I really do.

O 'Reilly can make the John Moxley tap
out here tonight.

In the shadows of New York City, it'll
be one of the greatest accomplishments

his entire career.

Moxley, who's known for a very
aggressive style, has been markedly slow

engage with the challenger.

Simple wrist lock here.

John Moxley, we've seen through the
years, he has an incredible poker face,

while competing in the ring and outside
of the ring, and he's put on a strong

face in dealing with Kyle O 'Reilly, in
dealing with the fact that Moxley

has tapped out twice to this man,
something that Moxley has rarely done

throughout his career.

You see that reaction to that kick, Jim?
Yes, sir. What does that tell you about

Moxley? It tells me that Moxley can get
pissed off very easily and turn the

tables on this kid who's in his biggest
match of his life.

Do you think that's a good idea to
irritate, to frustrate the champion?

I don't see how it could hurt.

Nigel, I really don't.

I know there's ways that you could hurt,
but... All right, tit for tat, quid pro

quo here between champion and
challenger.

Moxley, violent and unorthodox.

O 'Reilly, versatile and very capable.

If O 'Reilly can get some offense going
with those shots like we're seeing right

now, he's got a legitimate chance of
upsetting John Moxley, in my opinion.

It was full gear last year.

Kyle O 'Reilly forced John Moxley to tap
out for the second time in the span of,

I believe, 10 days.

O 'Reilly.

He was relishing in the victory, but
that's when Moxley and the Death Riders

attacked. They targeted the neck of Kyle
O 'Reilly and took him out of action

for five months, took O 'Reilly out of
the Continental Classic.

The tournament, which Jon Moxley,
ironically, would go on to win to claim

Continental Championship.

Moxley suffered from that ankle injury
as the tournament continued, and

one would have to think that perhaps
he's still not 100%.

Upstanding guillotine with the body
scissors.

We'll have to look to see whether he's
got it completely tucked in there. The

champion doesn't look too frustrated. He
knows he's always got the ropes if he

needs them.

Moxley stepping, reaching toward the
ropes, but instead changes his grip,

through under the legs of O 'Reilly.

Running power slam from Moxley. Moxley
looking to float over into a mount, but

Kyle O 'Reilly, great defense there.

Moxley guard.

Moxley is a little bit bigger, a little
more body weight.

He's thicker, and that could prove to be
something very valuable for him as this

match continues.

And O 'Reilly, he's got control of the
wrist of Jon Moxley. Now transitions

around. Moxley was landing body shots
unabated, but O 'Reilly. The armbar,

extension. Loads over to the Jujigatame.

Doesn't have it fully extended. You can
see the angle there, a nice escape from

Moxley.

Moxley, the ankle lock. That's how Kyle
O 'Reilly forced Moxley to tap out.

Both these guys are great students of
the game.

They figure out ways to beat you.

And it may be unorthodox.

If you want to talk strategy, Jim, what
gives the advantage to both men?

Well, I think that the advantage that
Moxley has, he's bigger, he's thicker,

he's stronger.

But the thing about this other kid, O
'Reilly, is he's in an opportunity

here of a lifetime.

On a major pay -per -view and from the
sold -out crowd here in the shadows of

New York City, he wins this match.

It's a career maker.

And O 'Reilly doing a bit of playing Jon
Moxley's game here on the outside,

dirtying it up with the champion. This
is usually what we see Moxley do, but O

'Reilly has now gained the advantage on
Jon Moxley. I can only imagine how

excited and looking forward to this
opportunity.

That O 'Reilly has.

It's pretty damn amazing, his story.

And he's arrived at a great destination
to tell his story.

O 'Reilly using those leg kicks.

We saw it on Wednesday night. We're
seeing it again here.

And now.

Middle kick.

Oh, no. Moxley stepped out of the way.
And O 'Reilly, you could hear his shin.

That's a difference, Vicka, right there.
You make a major mistake like that, now

the issue in my mind is how does Moxley
take advantage of that situation?

There's no doubt that he's going to not
right away, but now, oh, the challenger

barely able to put any weight on the
left leg.

Moxley is unpredictable.

He can become very angry at the drop of
a hat.

The blink of an eye, if you want to go
cliche -wise.

Moxley is a man with no compunction, no
boundaries, and no conscience.

Take a look here. This is the rare
miscalculation from O 'Reilly.

Moxley moving at the very last second
once O 'Reilly was committed to the

Once you get in this kind of situation,
Zach's caliber, you've got to go where

your opponent thinks you can't go or
won't go.

Oh, no. Yeah, just reflex.

Kicking with the right and the damaged
left gave way.

Oh, boy, this does not look good.

And JR, to a consummate professional
like Jon Moxley, he has to be salivating

that opportunity.

And again.

Oh, no. Nothing behind those kicks that
time.

Can't put any weight on the left leg.
And now O 'Reilly, who has a purple belt

in jiu -jitsu, may do well to fight from
the back.

Moxley seizing on the potential leg
injury to Kyle O 'Reilly.

Wrenching up awkwardly, bending the foot
of O 'Reilly, putting torque not just

on the ankle, but the knee, the hip as
well.

I'm impressed by Moxley and how far this
young Kyle O 'Reilly has come.

But the thing about it is, is that
Moxley has no conscience.

He doesn't give a damn.

He's here to win, period.

Drag and screw.

It's again targeting the leg, and Moxley
can feel the palpable shift in

momentum.

Man, I'm so happy there's no
interference in this match.

May the best men win. I know it's old. I
know it's cliche, but so am I. I'm old,

and I'm a cliche sometimes.

But the bottom line is that Moxley is in
control, and it's very seldom,

Excalibur, that he loses control once he
achieves it.

Now he is... Said this... Man, John

Loxley, this continental champion.

Consummate professional. He's a man
that... Once he sees his own advantage,

does not give it up lightly.

Now, drop kick into the knee.

A divided crowd here, and Louis
Armstrong, tonight, is certainly not a

goal for Kyle O 'Reilly, who has
suffered.

At the hands of the continental
champion.

That was on the money. A bullseye, if
you will.

Now it's a real test of O 'Reilly's grit
and resilience.

Trying to screw again. Sends O 'Reilly
sprawling. And Moxley steps through.

Figure four, perhaps. Maybe just a
spinning toe hold.

But he's focusing on the legs. And I
think that's something worth pointing

Moxley almost second to none when it
comes to dissecting a body part.

Moxley has detected the vulnerability in
the legs of Kyle O 'Reilly, and he,

whatever Moxley's game plan was, he has
shifted things to target the lower body

of O 'Reilly.

And so ironic, we talked about the
damage to the ankle of the champion, but

instead it's the leg of the challenger.
Ooh, look at that.

The nails.

Down the back and now into the face.

Biting the eye. Biting the eye.

Man, how barbaric do you want to be?

Loxley pleading innocence.

Yeah, Loxley getting chewed out there by
the ref.

And he looked at the ref like, what have
I done?

Loxley has a dark charisma.

And has helped him form an army in the
Death Riders. And also, Nigel, a very

devious mind.

inventive mind in how he perpetrates
violence on his opponents.

Oh, but O 'Reilly. O 'Reilly. That was
fun at Excalibur. He had that one

out. Both champion and challenger have a
lot of friends and teammates.

But on the continental room, it is one
-on -one.

The decision will come down to these two
men alone.

Unlike it typically is on pay -per
-view, it is no time limit instead of

minutes without traffic. With traffic,

This may be her moment. She looks in
great shape.

Chris Statlander also has a very
complicated relationship with this

Hikaru Sita. She formed an uneasy tag
team partnership with Sita.

competitor, so I'm sure she did her

As we saw when Tecla left off the top

Inside the ring didn't have the distance
the velocity to take down an opponent

But then when he's coming off the top to

force. Well, exactly. That's exactly the

it works and now it's done But Tecla, I
mean she seems like she's trying to wear

down Hayter a lot here I don't think she
feels like Hayter is the biggest threat

towards the title, but Again, like you
stated earlier, Excalibur, you've got

three former world champions in the
ring.

Broke the grip of Tekla on the boot of
Stadlander, but then Tekla answers an

elbow strike.

Stadlander broke that, but Tekla

She moves with such confidence,
Excalibur. Look at her, just struts

rim. She knows that she's beaten Chris
Stadlander not just once.

in that strap match, but in a best two
out of three falls match.

So while Statlander has victories over
Tekla, Tekla has more wins over

Chris Statlander.

turn of events right there. It was a
rare mental lapse by Tecla that

allowed Statlander to get back in
control of the champion. And those body

of Chris Statlander comes into play.

I mean, this could end with both those
ladies down.

from Tekla. Antonio, I'm not sure if

a case of injury or biding their time.
